The boy had spent many a night sitting on the roof tops of tall buildings, staring at the distant mountains, wondering what lurked in their shadowy forms. When he was little, his parents told him stories, horror stories, about the mountains and what happened to people who traveled here... but that never stopped him from being curious about them as his parents hoped they would. Of course, even if he wanted to leave, to wander off and explore the mountains... he never would, not wanting to upset his family.
But that time had come and passed. He had run away from home shortly before joining Team Rocket, not wanting his family to know his new secret, having abandoned the family tradition of working for Epispect. The teen did not approve of their actions... killing random Gijinka in the streets with no regards as to whom was watching. The mere memory of seeing the person slain in the middle of the street before him with not so much as even a chance to fight back was enough to make his blood boil. Fisting his hands, the Gijinka boy growled, shaking his head violently - how could his family work for such a monstrosity of a company...? He didn't understand it one bit, wondering if his family even knew of the terrible things Epispect was capable of.
"It doesn't matter now..." the boy muttered, despite the fact that nobody was around to hear him, "That was then..." Clutching the egg in his arms closer to his chest, Loki felt his heart sink. He knew his family probably missed him, as he missed them, but the fact that they wouldn't understand and possibly attack him for being a Rocket now overwhelmed that want to be with them again. It was a pleasure he would forever deny himself.
Moving through the trees, Olive eyes moved this way and that, looking for any sign of movement... which there seemed to be none. Convinced he was alone, rather pleased withn the fact, Loki allowed himself to slump against a tree, sliding down to sit at it's base, setting the egg in his lap. Briefly, he debated letting the eevee that resided in one of the pokeballs at his waist out to get some fresh air, but thought better about it. If something was lurking in the thick forest around him, silence would keep him hidden away. Instead, the boy allowed his eyes to close and his head to lean back, resting against the tree, enjoying the cloudy day as the seconds ticked by.[/style]

But going out into the wild once in a while was okay even for him, but only with escort. His unusual colored blue Houndour was walking beside the boy when he was going through the range without any goal. The dog sniffed at the air from time to time, catching random scents but holding back from going to investigate. He couldn’t leave his trainer alone, so he forced himself to stay near the boy.
Sylve once made the mistake of visiting the Pallida Mors Forest, and swore never again. He was convinced of being haunted by ghosts anyway, but that forest was just way too creepy for his liking. He attracted spirits anyway, but there, he was practically swarmed. He didn’t have his Houndour back then to keep them away that time, but he still wasn’t sure he would risk going there again, as much fun as it could be...
The Houndour stopped again, sniffing at the air as he caught another scent. Sylve looked down at the dog, since he acted different than the other times he noticed something. "What is it, Alexander?" He asked the dog, who was just staring in front as they walked along. There might be someone on the road ahead, Sylve thought to himself, and slowed down. He wondered if it’s okay to disturb others while out in the wild. They moved to the side, closer to the trees instead, as to avoid any fighting or a problematic trainer. People came out to the open to fight usually, and Sylve would only be a disturbance. As the Houndour turned to the trees, Sylve knew that whoever was here was on the other side. He stopped and backed away instead, thinking he should just go back, not wishing to intrude on anyone.
But tripping wasn’t in his plans. He fell on his back ungracefully, yelping loudly and falling down with a crash. Alexander was startled and barked out of habit, but quieted down when he noticed his trainer wasn’t actually in danger. Walking up to the boy he nudged at his shoulder with his nose. "It’s okay, nothing’s broken... I think... So much for being quiet." He murmured, wondering if he disturbed whoever was on the other side of the trees.

[/style] [STYLE=float:right; background-image: url(http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g368/RyuujinYoukai/tables/ricepaper-black.jpg); padding: 5px; line-height: 13px; font-family: times new roman; color: #8B8989; font-size: 13px; border-left: 4px solid #000000; border-bottom: 5px solid #000000; text-align: justify; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px; width: 322; text-align: justify; display: inline-block]Occasionally, when a rustle in the trees or a bush could be heard, a twig snapping or a rock tumbling, loki started, tensing as he looked in the direction the noise came from for a good time before relaxing against the tree once more with a sigh. Despite all the time that had passed between when his parents had told him the stories and now, not all of the fear had melted away with the turning pages of the calender. Even if those fears had dwindled to concerns, the boy had an overactive imagination, and it tended to do him in.
Taking a few breaths to calm himself, Loki looked down to the egg in his arms, wondering if it was warm enough for the poor thing. He had never really cared for anything before besides himself, in all honesty (pokemon not included... they were pretty easy), let alone an egg... he worried that he was doing something wrong, and the thing would never hatch - especially conssidering the amount of time he had owned the egg. It had been at least a week since he had purchased it, and the merchant had told him it was laid around two weeks prior and kept under heat lamps until it was sold. It sounded like some cheesy book to him, an egg that wouldn't hatch until it found the right one it wanted... but he found himself worried that whatever was inside was already gone from this world.
Groaning, shaking his head to clear it of these thoughts, Loki ran his thumb over the smooth surface of the orange egg, "You'll hatch... you're just not ready yet..." he spoke to the egg as if what was inside could hear him... and who knows, maybe it could, "You're like the runt of the litter... except, instead of being small, you're just late to hatch... there's nothing wrong with that..." He kept his tone gentle, resting his chin on the egg. If anyone was around, they'd probably think him insane for talking to an egg, but he thought that somehow it would help.
With each passing minute, Loki found himself slowly drifting off to sleep, the stillness and gentle breeze flowing through the trees now and then, raising their voice up from the leaves - it was peaceful, something Loki didn't find often. But peace never lasted forever, and this one was no exception. Olive eyes snapped open at the sound of something falling, his being shooting up from his sitting position at the bark that followed. Holding the egg ever closer, Loki took great caution as he looked around, his eyes quickly spotting a rather blue pokemon behind where he once sat. Preparing an attack as he moved, the teen mentally prepared himself for anything, more than ready to keep his promise that he made to the egg - to keep it safe, always.
But there seemed to be no danger... where he thought he would find a being ready to attack, he found a man flat on his back, the blue pokemon - which turned out to be a shiny houndour - standing at his side. Neither seemed to be ready to attack him... nor willing to at the moment. Releasing the breath he was holding in nervousness, Loki ran a hand through his hair, not moving closer nor away from Sylve for the time. If anything. the teen wasn't too good at socializing and to him, at the moment, the man who layed before him may be no different... he may not recieve the kind of treatment he wished from him. Loki was quick to judge.
"You should be more careful." He began, gently scolding the man with a calm tone, "You can draw bad attention that way..." But what was an unamused stance and voice turned into one of concern as Loki looked Sylve over once more, feeling somewhat regretful for jumping to that right away, "... are you okay?" With that, he finally took a step forward and extended a gloved hand to the man to help him up, though he didn't expect him to take it at all... but at least he was offering, right?[/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,430px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=style, width: 410px; background: url(http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u200/c_crimson/posting%20templates/bg_14_02.png); padding: 10px; border-top-right-radius: 30px; -moz-border-radius-topright: 30px; border-bottom-right-radius: 30px; -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 30px; border-left: 15px solid #26422A; bTable] Alexander nudged his trainer’s shoulder with his nose again to get his attention, and also to make sure he is alright. As a response, Sylve raised a hand and placed it on the dog’s snout gently. "Don’t worry." He was wondering why he was so clumsy. He wasn’t the most agile of the gijinka anyway, but he usually didn’t just trip on his own legs. Wondering about it didn’t do him anything good though, and when he remembered there was actually someone on the other side of a tree he might be disturbing, he sat up to try and get away from there as soon as possible. But it seemed like he was way late for that.
He sat up enough to lean on his arms and look up at the stranger from that position. Alexander snatched his head toward the new person, alarmed and ready to attack in case his trainer seemed to be in danger. However, the person wasn’t about to attack, so Alexander decided not to warn him with his usual growl, and just remain close to his still sitting trainer. Sylve raised a hand to scratch at the back of his head, slightly embarrassed not only from the gentle scolding but also from the fact he disturbed the stranger. "Sorry. I don’t think anything bad could happen out here though..." He wasn’t sure what he meant by bad attention. People were nice, and pokemon usually attacked out of instinct, so he should be safe with Alexander at his side. At least he had more faith in humans even in this rotten world.
He blinked at the extended hand for a moment, and then took with without a second thought, smiling up at the stranger with gratitude. "Thank you. I fell down, but I didn’t break anything." He stood up, gladly taking the help of the other and dusted his coat off, all the while Alexander was incredibly close to him – the dog was almost leaning on his legs protectively. Sylve petted his head in acknowledgement and turned back to the other human. "I’m sorry, did I disturb your serenity? That wasn’t my intention, um..." He was wondering what his name was, but he figured he couldn’t just ask without introducing himself first. "I’m Sylvester Blackwood, nice to meet you." He even bowed slightly, remaining ever so polite, keeping a forever present smile on his face. Waiting for a reply, he took his time to observe the other’s face, especially the markings on it. He didn’t remember seeing anything similar before, but he was aware some of the people of Aether had weird habits... he was wondering why he was wearing that tattoo on his face, when he caught himself staring, and quickly looked away. Staring is rude, he reminded himself.
