LET THE WHOLE THING BLOW
B A S I C I N F O
★ NAME: Natalie Felicia Hardy
★ NICKNAME: Nat, but you're not likely to get a good response out of her with it
★ MEMBER GROUP: Team Rocket
★ POKEMON: Lopunny
★ STATUS Illegal
★ AGE: 22
★ HEIGHT: 175 cms
★ WEIGHT: 52 kgs
★ FACE CLAIM: Mai Valentine from Yu-Gi-Oh!
★ APPEARANCE:
Natalie's appearance is definitely designed more to make her look attractive than to function in normal society, and yet she manages it. Her long blond hair tumbles down her back to rest somewhere down around the bottom of her rib cage, a nice dark gold, though some lighter strands become apparent when she's out in the light and her hair is freshly washed. Her eyes are a deep purple color, captivatingly so. Her body is very slender and curvy, giving her a nice hourglass figure, and she often dresses to accentuate that. Despite that, however, she's actually quite fragile when compared to some other girls, mostly because of her own physical handicap of being deaf. Thus, she is rarely seen without at least one Pokemon by her side to keep her able to respond to stimuli. The tips of her fingers and sides of her hands are usually stained with ink or graphite from the little spiral notebook she keeps on her person at all times since, although she is not mute, she does not trust herself to be able to properly moderate her volume, so she merely contents herself with the notepad most of the time, accepting that it is likely rare for her to meet someone who actually can sign with her.
Natalie has a liking for the color purple. It was one of the first colors she saw after her imprisonment, so she prefers it to any other colors. Thus, she usually dresses in a purple jacket to cover her shoulders, and if she chooses to wear gloves, she will pick purple ones or white ones with purple laces. She is partial to wearing corsets, the most common being of pale coloring (usually white or off-white) with purple or black lacing. She wears purple skirt that come down to about mid-thigh and held up with a black belt, a small sheath strapped to her thigh to hold a dagger in case of danger; she keeps this hidden beneath her skirt since she doesn't really want to rely on weapons. She finishes off her appearance with a pair of long knee-high boots, a small heel added to them to afford her a slight height boost even if they only make her less stealthy. Not that it really matters anyway, she purposefully avoids that type of thing since she's too self-conscious about her personal noise levels.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
★ POSITIVE:
- Intelligent;; Natalie has quite a sharp mind, and she has used it in the past for things that will help her, such as when she more or less taught herself how to lipread after she lost her hearing.
- Accepting;; No matter what life throws at her, Natalie will come to terms with it - maybe not right away, mind you, but she'll get past it given enough time and space, though she's much better at doing so with other people's problems than she is her own.
- Kind-hearted;; Natalie is by nature a very caring person and she really just wants to take care of people, especially since she has the ability to do so with her Healing Wish.
- Adaptable;; Natalie may not understand change right away, but she at least knows that when something big happens, she may need to revise her strategy in order to get at something.
- Loyal;; Even under pressure, Natalie won't crack, and she's the sort who would rather die than betray someone who took her into his or her confidence.
★ NEGATIVE:
- Self-conscious;; In spite of her flamboyant appearance, Natalie actually dislikes being the center of attention, mostly since it is one of her irrational fears that she will be too loud in a quiet moment and not be aware of it.
- Soft-spoken;; Natalie doesn't really like to speak up in public, and while it's not because she's shy - far from it, the woman will actively speak her opinion to both her Psychic Pokemon and to anyone who can sign with her - she still is content to keep to herself rather than to "speak" out against something.
- Motherly;; Natalie is extremely caring and will sometimes move to try to break up fights the same way a mother would, but considering she works for a group as violent as Team Rocket, this actually tends to get her in trouble more often than not.
- Self-sacrificing;; Natalie may have her pride to think about, but if the battle looks like it's about to turn bad, she's willing to take a few hits in order for her team to come out on top or even become a martyr for her cause.
- Idealist;; Natalie's the type who believes people will behave honestly if given the chance, having faith in them to do the right thing, and even after her ordeal, that hasn't changed, something that can get her in quite some trouble when she gives another chance to someone she probably shouldn't have.
- Perfectionist;; Even if she doesn't like taking missions out of the sheer pressing fear that she will mess it up with her deafness, Natalie still puts in time, effort, and heart into what she does get tasked with and she's the type who won't stop until things are just as they need to be, even if it's only a few hairs that are out of place, so she'll sometimes spend far too much time on something ironing out "kinks".
★ HABITS, QUIRKS:
- She keeps at least one Pokemon at her side at all times, mostly since if someone calls her name when she's not facing them, she uses them to realize when/what someone is saying to her.
- Her sole exception to her "theme" of Psychic-type Pokemon (taken up mostly because she can communicate with them through a psychic link on their parts) is a sole Mienfoo she's had since she was little.
- She often plays with her hair when she's not doing anything, a nervous habit given to her by her Lopunny DNA and never broken.
★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Natalie is quite a unique individual, a bright spark in the dark world around her. Despite losing her hearing less than two years ago in less than ideal circumstances, she has come to accept the new handicap and harbors no grudge towards others or bitterness over the fact. She's quite a shrewd young woman, being able to single-handedly teach herself how to lip-read after she went deaf and making use of Aether's library to locate books on sign language so that she could learn the useful skill. Even though she can't technically listen anymore, she's always there with a sympathetic ear when someone needs, a little smile on her face and a silent promise that whatever secret is revealed to her will remain that way. She doesn't judge someone on their past choices or actions, and she's loyal enough to lay her life down to protect the ones she loves. She doesn't put a whole lot of value on her life, recognizing that she is perhaps one of the most useless members of Team Rocket with her handicap preventing her from taking a lot of missions at all and a good deal more solo, so she wouldn't think twice about putting herself in harm's way if it was for someone else's well-being.
Natalie doesn't really like to speak anymore. There's nothing physically wrong with her voice, and since she spent a good deal of her life with her hearing, her pronunciation isn't usually all that terrible. She just worries that when she speaks, her volume will be unbearable or that she will make a mistake and no one will have the heart to tell her (or alternatively, they'll tell her and refuse to let her speak again), so she just chooses not to, preferring to sign or use a notebook. In spite of her fears and her past experiences though, she actually believes in the decency of people and quite often trusts them when they shouldn't, so she needs a firm hand to guide her away from some situations. She's not really entirely happy unless she has someone to fret over, and usually that role is fulfilled with her Mienfoo, which she often babies for always being there for her when she has no one else.
Natalie may not vocalize things often, but as such, she places a lot of value on touch and action. She often uses this as a way to communicate small things, and as such, she's actually fairly adept at reading body language and puzzling out what it means. She will act quietly to fulfill whatever little vision she has in her head, not stopping until someone tells her to or until she's arranged things to fit that idea exactly. It is an extremely rare occurrence to find her alone, mostly since she uses her Pokemon to assist her in daily life, and since she went deaf, she's found an attraction towards Psychic-types, if only because they're some of the few Pokemon that can still understand her. But she doesn't need to be understood, she'll tell herself as she sits off in an alcove to the side, one hand up in her hair twirling a lock between her fingers. She just needs to be there when she's needed and fade into the background when she's not.

H I S T O R Y
- Natalie was born a perfectly healthy baby girl to a normal family out in the suburbs. She grew up where she wasn't spoiled rotten, but nor was she neglected. She was simply allowed to grow up those first few years of her life, and one of her quirks was that she would bring around a little Buneary toy wherever she went.
- Two or three years after she was born, her little brother Tristan was brought into the world. Unlike some older siblings, Natalie immediately recognized that she would have to share attention and that she was to take care of young Tristan, and so some of her fondest memories are actually of going around the house with baby Tristan in her arms or clinging to her shirt and toddling after her.
- When she was eight, her parents' marriage turned sour. It had never really been happy, not for a long time, but now there were loud shouting matches late at night. Though it frightened her to no end to think of her parents fighting, she did her best to ignore it so that she could offer Tristan the comfort and support he'd need from such a thing happening to him at such a young age. Many a night she had been woken up by Tristan knocking on her door and ending up climbing into her bed to sleep with her.
- Her parents managed to keep it together for five more years, long enough for Tristan to understand (sort of) what was going to happen and for Natalie to realize what was coming. Her mom filed for divorce, but neither of them were willing to move out. The divorce lasted about a year, drawn out mainly due to the fierce battles for custody of Natalie and Tristan, but when it ended, one thing was clear: Natalie would be going with her mother while Tristan would stay with her father. She cried at first but realized she had to be strong for him and instead promised that they'd meet up one day.
- Natalie didn't really seem okay in her mother's house. She felt the absence of the rest of her family quite keenly, and as such, her mother bought her a Pokemon out of guilt. Natalie fell in love with the young Mienfoo, and while it didn't serve to keep away the pain of losing her brother and father, it did help to mute the wound enough that she could at least manage to finish out her schooling without arousing the suspicion of a social worker.
- The instant Natalie turned eighteen and had enough money, she moved out of her mom's house and into a small apartment. She was going to keep her promise to her little brother. She kept her head above water by doing odd jobs with her Mienfoo, but things just as often failed to pan out as they did succeed. Even worse, she simply couldn't find her brother for the life of her.
- About a year after she moved out, she was kidnapped by a bunch of illegal Gijinka, wanting a new member for their gang. They changed her against her will, giving her a transfusion for a Pokemon they knew they could defeat, and then told her in no uncertain terms that she would fight for them and she would use her new abilities to be their medic. She refused.
- Taking advantage of the fact that a Lopunny's ears were the most sensitive part of the body, her kidnappers punished her mostly with the use of sound to make her submit, but she never really gave in. Little by little, she began to slowly lose her hearing as a result of this until a year later, she was entirely deaf.
- Not too long after she lost her hearing entirely, an assault made on the gang ended up giving her enough opportunity to escape with the help of her Mienfoo, who had also been held captive up until that point.
- It took her maybe a year to accept what had happened to her. Another six months had to be taken out for her to adapt to being deaf. She learned how to lipread and to sign during this time, though there are still some things she's not so good at. But by that point she realized that she couldn't spend all her life letting her handicap hold her back, so she began to try to function in every day life. She managed to find her way to Team Rocket and has stayed there ever since.
