★ NAME: Charon Spyros
★ NICKNAME: N/A
★ MEMBER GROUP: Gijinka
★ POKEMON: Marowak
★ STATUS Illegal
★ AGE: 18
★ HEIGHT: 6'1"
★ WEIGHT: 156 lbs
★ FACE CLAIM: Subaru Sakama from Diabolik Lovers
★ APPEARANCE:
Just looking at him on the street, it's hard to believe that Charon Spyros is anything more than what he presents himself to be. Sure, he's got some height to him, and a slender build befitting of someone unaccustomed to hard work, more specifically heavy labor involving objects that weight a substantial amount. In fact, some might even describe him as "aristocratic" with his lithe chest and arms and his rather elegant clothes. Beneath his shirt, however, the Marowak Gijinka has rather defined abdominal muscles, the result of careful training and conditioning to try to ensure that, even if he could not lift enormous weights, he had decent endurance. His skin is rather pale since he is more of a night owl than a creature of the day, and he often spends those nights out in the cemetery his youngest brother, Icarus, was buried in. Charon's hair is rather long, brushing over his right eye and coming down to dance over his cheek as a result of parting it that way. The majority of the feathered strands, however, are long enough to brush over his jawline, their coloring the pale whitish-gray color generally associated with perfectly cleaned and unstained bones. In the right lighting, Charon's eyes can appear a deep honey-like color like fine brandy or beer that was actually his original eye color before he received the transfusion of Marowak DNA, but now, if one was to brush back the hair over his eyes, their coloring is a deep blood red, glittering like rubies and promising danger to anyone who crosses him. Charon has the looks to play the part of the handsome knight, a charming young man when he wants to be and with some of his better clothes on.
The truth of the matter is, however, that Charon just likes to keep his clothes free of dust and grime, though if one were to glance down at his shoes, they'd be more likely than not to find some mud on the black combat boots, which break his rather elegant theme. Aside from that, Charon tends towards rather nice black pants and a fine black jacket, both of which he is careful to keep away from the mud and dirt of the slums as much as he can. There's still some muck on them, true, and the clothes have more than a few tears and stains from the rough life he leads, but for the most part, his clothes are fairly taken care of. Underneath his jacket, which he prefers to wear open rather than zipped buttoned up, he often wears deep burgundy v-neck shirts that fall over the waist of his pants, though he also wears black, dark blue, or white shirts of similar design. The final touch to his outfit is a single necklace that he keeps double-looped on a string of black leather, a small gold-painted brass key hanging from a thin copper ring, and the necklace remains around his neck at all times, even when he sleeps, as a precaution since it belongs to a small wooden chest, inside which he keeps all traces of his crimes in order to prevent Aeolus from finding it.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
★ POSITIVE:
- Confident;; No matter what the situation is that he has managed to get himself into, Charon has a strong pride to himself and an absolute certainty that he'll be able to get himself out of it, and as such he'll breeze around Aether with a swagger to his step, a dangerous swagger that speaks of his own competence and power and knowledge of said things.
- Bold;; Not to put too fine a point on it, but Charon isn't one to do things halfway, never has been, and as such, his actions will be brazen, borderline suicidal with how flashingly obvious they are sometimes, but considering all that he's been through, if there's one thing he's learned, it's how to be firm in his actions, and that firmness tends to keep him alive.
- Unflinching;; No matter what task Charon may or may not need to perform, the Marowak Gijinka will not turn from the path that he has taken, his pride compelling him to do whatever it might take to make sure that he can accomplish his goals, however distasteful or unethical his actions might need to be in order to fulfill that end.
- Practical;; Charon understands the real world and his lot in life, and while he may work hard in order to ensure that his little brother Aeolus is well taken care of and can pursue his hopes and dreams to work in drama, he also keeps himself very much down to earth with his expectations, and if making sure his brother is taken care of means that he has to skimp out on things for himself, then he will.
- Strong-willed;; When he wants to be, Charon can be quite stubborn, the result of an uncompromising personality and a fierce nature that hates to be confined or ordered around, and with his loner nature, he's very used to getting his way, so when someone disagrees with him or tries to get him to stop doing what he's doing, it actually ends up pushing him to defend his ideals even harder.
- Mistrustful;; Growing up having to fight for everything that he ever had taught Charon the dangers of trusting someone, and as a result, he isn't one to place faith in anyone, something that might lead many to think him cold and stand-offish, but considering how he lives in the slums, the universal suspicion over everyone but his brother Aeolus has saved their hides on more than a few occasions.
- Blunt;; Charon's words often seem as if they're carefully honed to hurt - and usually they are - but when he speaks, he tends to not lie to people aside from Aeolus, and even then for the boy's own safety, and while he may not tell the whole truth, what he does choose to let leave his lips will be the way he sees the world since he's not one to mince words.
- Dedicated;; Hard as it might be to believe with his dislike for company and his rather harsh demeanor even to his little brother, Charon is capable of surprising bouts of loyalty, which often manifest themselves as a rather sociopathic over-protectiveness for Aeolus, his younger brother, and taking on the task of allowing himself to become the unofficial guardian of the cemetery where his baby brother Icarus is buried.
★ NEGATIVE:
- Warped;; To the casual observer, Charon's mind is decidedly missing quite a few important screws - namely a conscience and maybe some morals and ethics, just to name a few - and even though he was dark even as a child, since the death of his baby brother Icarus, there is definitely a more discernible disconnect up there in the Marowak Gijinka's head.
- Sadistic;; A fine compliment to his disturbing behavior, Charon has quite the cruel streak in him, and he'll actually go out of his way to cause trouble to someone else, laughing coldly at their pain and, yes, taking pleasure in watching them squirm beneath him as he drives the knife into some wound or another.
- Aggressive;; Unsurprisingly with his sadistic qualities, Charon prefers to attack first and ask questions later, and while he may be able to keep the majority of his anger from influencing his actions too negatively, he also has quite a temper on him, and when he decides to let loose in his calculated way, he tends to do it in an overly harsh manner that can be downright deadly when he wants it to be.
- Vengeful;; Charon always remembers when someone has wronged him, and not only does he remember what happened to him that was a perceived injury, he also knows exactly who it was who gave it to him, and since he's too proud and cold-hearted to let something like that go, he'll exact his revenge exactly how he sees fit, regardless of how unfair it might be to others or how others feel about the object of his rage.
- Possessive;; Perhaps a surprising fault to some who've seen Charon's lack of caring about others and his inability to show empathy for anyone other than his brother Aeolus and maybe his Pokemon, Charon is actually quite protective of everything he considers to be his, and he thinks of it as practically a personal insult for someone else to touch whatever it is that he has decided is his property.
- Intimidating;; Charon might not look it at first glance, but he is actually quite a dangerous and scary person, and he is willing to go as far as he might need to in order to cultivate that image whether it involves beating up more than a few people to make it clear he will tolerate no one trying to mess with him or obtaining a strangely-colored Aron with red eyes, and as it happens, he actually succeeds in cultivating quite the off-putting aura quite well.
- Cold-Hearted;; Ever since he was little, Charon hasn't cared much for anyone outside of his immediate family, and after the transfusion of Marowak DNA into his body and the subsequent death of his baby brother Icarus, that trait only intensified, hardening him into someone who cares little for anyone outside of his circle, which has closed to include only his younger brother Aeolus, and he won't hesitate to inflict bodily harm on anyone else who crosses his path.
- Manipulative;; Charon wasn't born with the want to make people do exactly what he wanted to do, but since the night where his life changed forever and he lost young Icarus, he has since learned how to turn Aeolus around in circles so that he can obtain an advantage, and that quality slowly bled through his life until he found that he was turning people against each other in order to keep them away from Aeolus and from investigating any further into the origins of the two boys.
- Unpredictable;; Charon lives a lot of his life on impulse and whim, preferring not to let any set schedule rule his life, and since he often has to relocate to avoid triggering too many unpleasant memories for Aeolus
and because he runs out of money to pay for all the damage he's caused, it's almost impossible for anyone to be able to tell where he is, not to mention that with being a little mentally unhinged, his thought process doesn't follow the usual patterns one might expect.
★ HABITS, QUIRKS:
- Despite all the trouble and heartache the attack has caused him, one of Charon's favorite moves to use is still Thrash, though he reserves it only for people who really have antagonized him and who he wants to make sure never involve themselves in his life ever again.
- Charon hates all forms of chocolate with a burning passion, so much so that he will even consider the sweet "a waste of space" - to him, the milk chocolate is too sweet and the dark chocolate too bitter, and he doesn't care too much for caramel either, disliking the fact that it makes a mess of itself and attempts to glue his jaw together.
- Another one of Charon's fierce dislikes is plush toys, and while he will allow Aeolus, his little brother, to keep them as some measure of comfort, he himself prefers to shred any given to him, not wanting to inhale dust and dirt off the fur that only loses its softness over time.
- Unsurprisingly given that he's a Marowak Gijinka, Charon's favorite haunt is actually at a graveyard, the very one where his baby brother Icarus is buried, and he likes to think of himself as the guardian of the cemetery, chasing off any would-be vandals and grave-robbers with a Bone Rush and a chilling laugh that serve as a warning never to come back; needless to say, he's very comfortable around the dead, able to keep his head near a body and even finding their company more pleasing than that of the majority of the living.
- Because Charon spends many a night keeping watch over his little brother's grave, he spends most of his days sleeping in whatever rundown building he's claimed as his residence at the moment, and due to his Marowak DNA, he has a strong preference for remaining warm, disliking cold with a fierce passion.
★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
To see Charon on the street, one would think him a normal person, a charming young man who has his hands shoved in his pockets and is consumed with his own worries. Of course, all that's needed to shatter the illusion is a small thing to piss the boy off. Charon is quite aggressive and sadistic, the type of person who wouldn't mind snapping and trying to break a few people for little to no reason, and he's cold-hearted, the type not to feel guilty for his actions. He simply does not play well with others between his strong will and his tendency to be distrustful of others. He would rather take a hit from a sharp object than let someone betray him, so he simply does not trust them. In his warped mind, most people are little more than toys, able to be played with and then disposed of when they're broken or no longer useful. He's unafraid of death, mostly because he's seen so much of it by this point in his life - though some could say that the Marowak DNA inside his body could also be partially responsible for that. He's unflinching and practical, the type to do whatever it is that he has to do to survive. Crossing him can be lethal since his vengeful nature tells him that he shouldn't stop until he's enacted his revenge, no matter how vicious it might be, and unfortunately for others, his unpredictable behavior can spell trouble for those who are just trying to get away. One might remark that these qualities contribute to what some might call a "hair-trigger temper", but in reality, Charon can be just as cold and calculating as anyone. He takes a sliver of pleasure in manipulating people, but it's not a past time he regularly engages in, instead more of a daily chore he is forced to do in order to protect his younger brother Aeolus from himself.
Peel back the layers of Charon, however, and a different picture begins to emerge of a human beneath all that ghoulishness and cruel behavior. Charon gets surprisingly possessive of things, and not just material objects. He counts people among that number too, mostly his disposable play things, but touching them without his permission is a fierce no-no that will earn you a good Thrash to the face regardless of the fact that the attack has already taken one life he did not mean to affect. Charon's very sure of himself, well aware of how dangerous he is and that very few would dare piss him off since he gets extremely violent, but few know exactly how dedicated he is when he truly likes someone or something; he hides it well, not wanting anyone to be able to tease him. Not that he's the type to be teased, of course, the only person who'd really be able to get away with such a thing would be Aeolus, and that's only because he doesn't know any better. Charon's habits are mostly nocturnal, the male spending his nights out in the cemetery among the bones and his days sleeping in whatever rundown building it is that he lives in with his brother Aeolus. Two things that Charon does not really like include sweets - namely chocolate and caramel - and plush animals - which he will shred without a second thought. He's not really one to cry, not for the dead or for someone's pain, even his own, and he has acquired quite a high tolerance for pain since he was born, but even so, don't be fooled by it. He knows how to dress a wound well enough to keep himself from catching some sort of infection from the slums.
Charon may be warped inside, his mind altering itself in order to try to cope and protect him from the event in his past that has defined him and Aeolus over the past two years, but overall, he's still a person with wishes and feelings and desires. He just hides it better than most. Not even Aeolus is allowed to see inside his head, but perhaps it's for the better. He hangs out in a graveyard and feels most comfortable surrounded by the dead. He's taken a life before. That sort of thing doesn't come easy, and when it does, the effect it can have on a psyche can't ever be fully measured, not really, especially not one such as Charon Spyros.

H I S T O R Y
- Charon was born a healthy baby boy, the eldest of the Spyros children. The family was quite poor, his parents having to work two jobs in order to support the small family in their home in the slums, especially when another little one, Aeolus, was born about two years later. One of Charon's earliest memories is of the younger boy escaping his crib and crawling into bed with him, snuggling up to his side. Charon might acted coldly towards his younger brother, but upon closer inspection of how he allowed the smaller to cling to the back of his shirt and would walk slower so that the boy wouldn't fall, it became obvious that Charon adored his little brother.
- Four years later, another baby boy entered the Spyros house, this one named Icarus. However, Icarus could not have picked a worse time to have been born. Their parents began to fight, the result of too much stress over trying to support their small family, and Charon, too young to understand exactly what was going on, blamed the anger in his family in the only recent change in his life, baby Icarus. Charon was cold to Icarus, shaking the little one off despite Aeolus' pleas to leave his brother alone, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Icarus and Aeolus became closer, nigh inseparable, while Charon became more distant, refusing to play nicely with others besides Aeolus.
- When Charon was eight, their father couldn't take the constant fighting a moment longer and walked away from the marriage. The family could not afford a divorce, but they could at least live separately, the only contact from the father coming in the form of regular letters with some money every now and again. This action ended up hardening Charon against the world, though he was old enough now to realize that his parents were really in a loveless marriage and that Icarus was in no way responsible for it. That went a great way towards repairing the bridge between the eldest and the youngest sibling, but Charon remained primarily a sullen child, quiet and prone to acts of violence when irked or when his brothers were even remotely threatened. He was the protector and man of the house now, and he grew up quickly to fill those shoes.
- One day when Charon was twelve, he came home with his siblings to find his mother had passed away in her sleep. Quick-thinking, the eldest boy made sure to keep his brothers occupied so that they could not find the body and instead called the emergency services, who contacted the coroner to get rid of the body. His mother's family arranged for a burial, which Charon and his siblings dully attended, the young twelve year old boy present in a stiff second-hand suit a size too big for him and with an impassive face as he held a hand from each of his bawling siblings. Unfortunately for the family, however, Charon had no wish to let his brothers be raised by anyone but him, and so he took Icarus and Aeolus and ran, not looking back once as he led them to live on the streets. Sure, their life was harder, but that was a small price to pay for the closeness they shared.
- Charon had learned early on not to trust people, but he got by mostly by begging and by doing small jobs for the gangs... and, of course, by stealing. He was a smart young boy, so it wasn't a stretch for him to understand he'd have to pick up some criminal activities in order to get the money to protect Aeolus and Icarus and let them live the life he felt they deserved to live. He made sure they were fed and clothed and went to school while he learned how to steal and fight and struggle in the world, living off the underbelly of Aether. When he turned fifteen, he decided that he wanted to become a Gijinka, so he gathered up some of the money he'd stashed away, pawned a few stolen items, and took a transfusion of Marowak DNA from a shady dealer.
- What Charon couldn't have seen coming was that in a year's time, both of his siblings would be horribly sick, dying from the virus that had run through Aether and picked off people left and right. The Marowak scolded himself for taking such a selfish transfusion when his brothers needed it more, spending entire days absent from the house at a time as he began getting deeper and deeper into the underworld to get enough money to save his younger brothers. Unfortunately for him, he stole from the head of a gang that no one wanted to cross, and one night he came home to see a man threatening his brothers. Seeing red, Charon fought for their lives, ignoring the terrified screams of his brothers when he activated his Thrash attack and lost himself in it.
- It had to have been only a few moments that Charon had been lost in black, but when he came to, Icarus was bleeding heavily at his feet and Aeolus cowering in the corner with frightened eyes. Charon acted as quickly as he could, calling the paramedics to try to save his brother, but it was no use. Icarus was pronounced dead at the scene, his body taken away. Charon then acted quickly, taking the then-unconscious Aeolus from them. He refused to lose his other sibling, so he took him to the same dealer who had given him the Marowak DNA and told him to do the same for his brother. Aeolus was made a Cubone Gijinka, sparing his life, but the damage had already been done. Charon had been slowly forged towards the cold-hearted individual he was at that point, but the last parts of his personality were effectively hardened into place with the accidental death of his brother, warping Charon greatly.
- When Aeolus awoke from the procedure, Charon fully expected him to demand answers, but instead, it seemed that the boy didn't remember a thing. Figuring it was just a reaction to the stress, Charon didn't push the event since it meant Aeolus wasn't going to push him away in disgust for what he had done. Instead, he used the money that would've been for Icarus' procedure to instead bury the boy in a good cemetery, which the proud Marowak quickly ended up the silent, "ghostly" guardian of after a group of vandals knocked over his brother's headstone and just trashed the place.
- Two years have passed since that time, and Charon has obtained a Pokemon - a strangely-colored Aron with such deep blood red eyes that Charon couldn't just of his own, but things haven't changed much. Charon doesn't steal anymore unless he has a need to, but he still participates in the Black Market from time to time as a mercenary or a bodyguard since he's acquired a bit of a reputation for being dangerous. He moves around a lot with his younger brother Aeolus, whose memory problem has only gotten... well... more distinct with time, and he still protects Icarus' grave. Everything is balanced on a knife's edge, and it won't be too long before it falls...
