WILD SKARMORY APPEARED! [/style] Skarmory || Male || Sturdy || Steel/Flying || Level 4 Leer || PeckThe Skarmory's body lay there, still smoking a little and with a muscle twitching occasionally when his subconscious would still try to fight back, though if he had been aware of himself, he would have no doubt resented the Archen for thinking that he was so weak as to need protection, but all that was moot when he was snapped up in a Pokeball in a small flash of light.
Twitch Twitch~ Twitch Twitch~ Twitch Twitch~ DING! The Pokeball's shaking was rather violent considering that was it was trying to contain was actually unconscious, but that was just a sign of the dual type's fighting spirit and the ball stilled after a few moments, signalling a change in the Skarmory's life, though whether it would be for better or worse remained to be seen.
WILD SKARMORY HAS BEEN CAUGHT!
WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen was showing off his plumage as he tried to shelter the Skarmory protectively, screeching, and then suddenly, there was a bright red light flashing towards them. "Ar archen!" the little bird cried, aghast as the other bird was snapped up into the ball. No fair! He didn't have long to be upset about it though, the dual type quickly taking a hit from a series of red lights that left him feeling a little weaker but not by a whole lot. He stumbled back a few steps, thrown off-balance from the attack, but he recovered quickly, focusing his gaze on the source of the attack, none other than a small Treecko. "Archen ar chen chen ar? Chen chen archen." he asked, cocking his head to the side in confusion. Why'd you do that? I'm not the enemy here. He was confused as to why this Pokemon was attacking him, it wasn't as if he had really done anything. He'd just been trying to protect a Pokemon in need, so why was the Grass-type just attacking him out of nowhere like that?
OOC: Sorry about the shortness... and the shittiness... I just... had sudden muse death halfway through...

Brian heard the sound of the Poke ball, and that meant that the Skarmory was his to do whatever he wanted with. "Well that just leaves the one problem to deal with, but it should be that much of a bother. Isn't that right, Dionysus?" His tone implied that it had better not be, or else something bad might happen. He had no time for those who couldn't handle a simple obstacle like a bird, which is why he was going to force the Treecko to win this fight even if it made the small Grass Pokemon hate him.
Dionysus was growing concerned about his own well-being, but there wasn't much that he could do at this point except win. Luckily for him, the Archen didn't attack when he had the chance, so now there was a definite opening for him. "Treecko. Treecko." Nothing personal. Its just business. The Treecko began running around the Archen in a circular pattern, while his eyes glowed blue. If his Leer could weaken the bird's defenses, then Treecko actually stood a chance at winning this fight, which would mean that he would find favor in his master's eyes.
After a few moments of this, the Treecko stopped suddenly and launched two more red beams at the Archen, and he hoped that they would hit as the energy being Absorbed in was taking the edge off of his tired body. Of course, this would have been a lot easier on him if Vulcan had toyed with the Skarmory for a little while instead of practically burning him to a crisp. Oh well, there wasn't much that Dionysus could do about that now, so all he could do was focus.

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen's feathers were fluffed up and the little ancient bird hopped about from foot to foot anxiously, plumage ruffling about with the action as he waited for the answer as to why he'd been attacked when he hadn't even done anything overly aggressive, let alone posed even the most remote threat to the Treecko. He waited until he heard the Grass-type speak, and then his brow furrowed in confusion. "Ar archen ar?" he squawked, cocking his head to the side. Wait, what? He was confused when he saw the blue gleam in the other Pokemon's eyes as he fought the urge to cower back, something he barely managed to hold back against as every instinct in his body told him to try to hide from the Pokemon trying to attack him. But before he could react, there were suddenly even more beams flying at him, and he yelped, ducking down and trying to cover his head as he was hit with it right square on the butt. He flapped and fluttered, jumping up in the air with his legs waving before he scrambled around, looking for some rocks. He didn't find anything huge, but after a little bit of searching, he managed to locate a decent-sized stone that he lifted over his head and then threw at the Treecko in a Rock Throw attack in the hopes of defending himself. He hadn't wanted to attack when he'd landed, but he wasn't about to back down when he'd been hit not once but twice for no good reason.

Dionysus actually felt bad for the Archen as it seemed to be so confused about what was going on here, but he could explain things to the endangered bird another time. For now, he had a fight to win or else he would be getting in trouble, and the Treecko was not about to get into trouble. Of course, he was feeling pretty good once the Absorbs effects started to take effect, but he was no allowed to wait for long. "Treecko. Treecko." I really do hate falling rocks. He said this right before getting bonked on the head with one.
Brian should have been watching the battle, but he had moved over to get the Skarmory. "Dionysus will win this one regardless of whether I am paying attention or not," he muttered as he picked up the Poke ball. Then the white haired one walked back over to where Vulcan was dozing, and then he sat down and waited for the moment when he would capture this new bird.
The Treecko rubbed his head as he glared up at the bird, and then his eyes glowed blue again as the Leer was back on. This time around, Dionysus was going to wait for the bird to get close before attacking as there was no way to hit something that far away from him. "Treecko." Come and get it.

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen let out a little caw of victory when he saw that his rock had managed to hit the other Pokemon, bouncing around and squawking happily as he flaunted his plumage. Ha, take that! He wasn't about to just let someone hurt him for no good reason! Wriggling his tail-feathers, he bounced about in a circle, hopping over the ground lightly before he spread his wings at the end, showing off his beautiful wings too. He spent a lot of time making sure that they were glossy, so the fact that they were beautiful and perfect even now in battle made him practically glow in pride. He then managed to catch sight of the bright blue glow in the Grass-type Pokemon's eyes, and the look made him falter again, lose confidence in himself for a prolonged moment before he fluttered his feathers uneasily, trying to regather a little of his pride and his confidence. He could handle this. He could. Right? Right. He was a good fighter when he knew that things were a fight, and now that he knew that he was under attack, he wasn't going to stop working until he managed to do a good job and then could fly away to find a warmer place to sleep. He blinked at the call to action, cocking his head to the side. "Ar archen ar? Chen chen archen!" he chirped, confused. Why would I do that? I don't wanna fight! He didn't really like battling, not really, no. He'd much rather make friends than hurt others. Other Pokemon were so much more interesting to talk to than to battle anyway, so what reason did he have to fight much in the first place?

It seemed that the Archen needed more motivation to actually join this fight on a permanent basis, and Dionysus was more than willing to inspire the bird. The Grass Pokémon charged forward as fast as he could and then switched to a zigzag pattern to be a little more unpredictable. "Treecko. Tree. Treecko!" You should have struck when you had the chance. It was the last thing he said before he broke off zigging so that he could leap toward the Archen, twirl in the air and slam his tail into the bird's beak. There was a great hope in his eyes that the bird get some serious damage off of the Pound that had been expertly delivered.
A loud snoring sound echoed through the area as the Magmar who was sleeping repositioned himself, which reminded Brian that they would need to find a new friend for Vulcan to play with. "Don't get too comfortable over there. You shall soon combat whoever pops up next, so you had best be ready." Brian's gaze shifted back to the current battle, and he wondered just how well the Archen was coping with the fight. From where he sat, the bird wasn't putting up much of a fight, which would change once Brian was in control. Of course, the fight was still going, so anything could happen in the next few moments to prove that the bird was worth keeping around.
"I guess we shall see." [/blockquote]

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen blinked when the Treecko charged at him in some sort of darting pattern that went from side to side, his head cocking to the side in confusion when suddenly the Grass-type leapt up, and before the little dual type could even manage to figure out what the other Pokemon had meant with the words he'd spoken, there was a sharp pain in his back that had his knees giving out and sending him crashing to the ground. He lay there for a second or two before he put his wings to the ground, putting pressure through them as he shakily got back to his feet. Letting out a caw, he found that at this point, he was mad. He had to spit out some dirt that had gotten up into his beak, coughing a few times before he steeled himself. He wasn't one to fight, but if the Treecko was this determined to make it a battle, then the Archen wasn't going to take this lying down! He was tired of being hurt when he wasn't even doing anything wrong! Letting out a little war cry, he darted forward, feeling the wind collect around the feathers of his wings before he swung them around, aiming for the Treecko with a devastating Wing Attack, something he hadn't wanted to do originally but now had no choice to. He didn't want this fight, but if he was going to fight, he was going to give it his all!

Dionysus found that this battle was becoming rather dull since the Archen wasn't even putting up an actual fight, so when he smacked the bird with his tail the Treecko assumed that it would be the end to the conflict. Well, that hit must have jarred something loose in the brain of his opponent as the Archen was starting to charge at him in a rage. "Treecko. Tree." Now we are getting somewhere. He needed to time it right as getting hit by those wings were certain doom for him, and both of them knew it.
The Treecko charged forward to meet the incoming attack head on, and when he was really close to colliding Dionysus jumped over the bird in order to avoid the attack. Once on the other side, he began to build up energy for his counterattack that would be launched once the bird turned to face him. "Treecko. Treecko. Tree." You should have started out fighting like this. [/I] Hopefully, Brian would be pleased with his performance in this bout. Of course, Brian was still waiting for the moment when he could capture this bird, so he had moved on to cleaning his fingernails. For some reason, he grew bored with long fights unless they were truly exhilarating, and this one wasn't really. Not enough explosions for his taste. "Chaos is only pleased by the most grand of explosions."[/size][/blockquote]

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen was running towards the Treecko as fast as he could, a war cry on his lips as the other Pokemon ran towards him too, and for a prolonged moment, he thought he was going to manage to land a hit, but then the next thing he knew, the Grass-type was out of his range of sight again, leaping up in the air as he let out an indignant cry, his small body having started diving forward already to try to make contact with his wings, but now he couldn't stop the momentum as he fell, his wings flailing in a desperate effort to try to catch himself before he managed to land right on his face. He was partially successful, the very tip of his beak skimming against the dirt before he managed to catch himself, pushing himself back upright again with his face all scrunched up in distaste from the close encounter. He let out a few little squawks as he tried to fix himself before he turned around, letting out a little cry. "Ar archen ar ar!" he screeched, flapping his wings and jumping in the air. Yeah, well, unlike you, I didn't wanna fight! He then dove forward, trying to land another hit, this time driving his body as fast as he could in a Quick Attack so that he could try to land a hit this time and get his revenge for the attacks against him. Attacks that he had done nothing to warrant, he would like to add.

This fight was definitely taking its toll on the two Pokémon, but Dionysus couldn't lose again if he was going to have any chance of getting back into Brian's good graces. Of course, he hadn't expected the Archen to bounce back so quickly, so he got pretty hard by the incoming bird. Rolling across the ground, the Treecko was done with words as he got back up and launched red beams from his hands at the bird to try and regain some of the strength that he had lost, and if that didn't work there was always the option of getting close and personal again.
Vulcan took this moment to wake up and look at the battle, and after seeing what was going on the Magmar scoffed rather loudly. The Fire Pokémon thought that the battle was rather long and boring, and he was pretty sure that one Flamethrower would have ended the entire thing in a matter of seconds. Alas, this was the Treecko's battle, so he would just have to wait for the next Pokémon to come along. Then the real fighting would begin as he showed Brian why he should be his 'go to' Pokémon instead of the Grass Pokémon.
Brian merely started whistling a tune as the battle progressed. The young man was sure that the tune had something to do with a mouse and a clock, but he couldn't actually be sure anymore.

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen let out a grunt when its attack landed, the air whooshing out of his little body as he made the collision and send the Treecko flying, and he flapped and fluttered his wings in some sense of victory at his accomplishment. And then it all came to an end. He was so busy celebrating that he didn't even notice the attack until it hit him, slamming into his body and causing him to let out a cry of pain as he tumbled beak over talons before he lay still on the ground, his eyes fluttering as he fought to retain consciousness after that last attack that he had taken. He had lost a good bit of energy after that last blow and, his wings trembling as he tried to push himself back up onto his feet again, but he couldn't manage it, his wings giving out as he fell back to the ground weakly, eyes falling shut as he lost the ability to grasp onto reality and instead fell into the waiting darkness.

WILD STARLY APPEARED! [/style] Starly || Female || Keen Eye || Normal/Flying || Level 6 Tackle || Growl || Quick Attack The little Starly was in a panic. She just knew that she had left her eggs around here somewhere, and now she couldn't find them. They were just gone! Like some Sneasel had come down out of the mountains and just taken them! But she knew that couldn't have happened, there weren't any Sneasel nearby, so where were her precious eggs? Letting them out of her sight had obviously been a mistake, and she regretted it fiercely now as she anxiously fluttered about, trying to find her precious eggs. She had tried asking some of the Pokemon around here, and while they hadn't seen anything, a few of them had offered to help her look and would let her know if they found anything. She was just so worried about her eggs, she didn't know what she'd do if something happened to them! Spotting a few more Pokemon, along with a human, from her position high up in the air, she spiraled down, landing on a small branch a little ways away from them before she chirped out to them. "Starly star star ly ly starly star star starly!" 'I hate to bother you all, but have you seen any eggs lying around?' She knew that they could very well laugh at her and throw attacks - it had happened before while she was out trying to find her babies - but she was just so desperate. She had to do something to try to find her eggs, even if it meant doing something that could hurt her. She couldn't just stand by and watch her eggs slip away from her! They were her babies!

Brian saw the final attack hit, and that was when he got up and tossed the Poke ball at the fallen bird. "Nice work Dionysus. If we keep this up, then we'll soon have enough birds to cause chaos from above," he said as he walked over to pat the Treecko on the head. Then he heard some squawking that caught his attention by how annoying it sounded to him, and when his eyes found what was making it Brian saw his final prey of the day. It seemed he was going to get an impressive air force after all.
Dionysus liked the praise, but he wasn't completely sure that he liked the idea of having more birds around. Of course, it wasn't his decision as Brian was in control, but he could still ignore the birds until he was told to interact with them. "Treecko. Tree." I am going to take a nap. With that being said, the Grass Pokémon walked over to where Brian had been sitting and collapsed before he got ordered to battle the new bird, which would have really sucked.
On the other hand, Vulcan had gotten up off the ground and was walking toward the tree that the Starly was in. "Magmar. Magmar. Mag" Nope, but you don't need to worry about them at the moment. The Magmar was cracking his knuckles as he talked to the bird, which should have been a clear sign that it was time for fighting and not for talking. Of course, should that fail to enlighten the bird; he let out a Smog of gas from his mouth in the Starly's direction. With that, the battle was truly on.

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 7 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock ThrowThe Archen's body lay limply on the ground, a light wind causing his beautiful plumage to flutter softly before a Pokeball managed to scoop him up in a bright flash of light before it landed on the ground.

WILD STARLY APPEARED! [/style] Starly || Female || Keen Eye || Normal/Flying || Level 6 Tackle || Growl || Quick Attack The Starly blinked in surprise as she watched the Treecko pad over to the ground and collapse there in a boneless heap, but figuring that he was just tired, she was content to let him be. That said, however, she hadn't even noticed the Magmar getting closer until the Pokemon was almost on top of her, her little eyes widening with alarm as he delivered a not-so-subtle threat to her, but before she could do much more than open her wings to try to fly away, there was suddenly a choking amount of rancid purple smoke around her, making her cough and fight to try to breathe as she lost her balance and fell out of the tree. She could feel that she had obtained some toxic spores out of that attack, and now there was some sort of poison eating through her blood to try to make it impossible for her to find her missing eggs. She coughed a few times, trying to rid her lungs of the sensation, but recognizing that she wasn't in a good spot, especially if she wanted to get back to her eggs, she let out a little war cry and darted up in a Quick Attack to try to harry the large Fire-type with her talons, hoping that she would cause enough damage in the short term so that she would have a moment to be able to fly away and try to find her babies. She couldn't afford a prolonged fight, not when her eggs were lost and alone out there!

A dinging noise reminded Brian that he had a Poke ball to retrieve, so he walked over to it and picked it up rather quickly. Things were proceeding along just as he planned, and soon he would have enough battle ready Pokémon to mess up some people’s plans. Of course, Dionysus and Vulcan were his ‘go to’ Pokémon as they were his strongest, but maybe a few of these birds would prove themselves worthy of use in future endeavors. So far, only the Skarmory seemed like a strong candidate to be used in the fight to inflict chaos upon the world.
Vulcan could tell that the bird was still unaware of the fact that a fight was going on, but he could care less as his Smog swept through the area and caused the Starly to fall to the ground. The coughing noise told him that the battle wasn’t over, and soon the little bird swept forward and raked his body with her talons. Pain was something that he wasn’t completely used to as of yet, so the Magmar let out a yelp of agony. ”Magmar. Magmar, Mag, Magmar!”That tickled. Guess that means you are ready to feel my flames!”[/i]
Without a warning this time, Vulcan swung his tail in the Starly’s general direction to let loose his Ember attack to cause the little bird some problems. In truth, the Magmar didn’t see this little bird being very useful to Brian, but he really needed the exercise.
As he watched the battle progress, Brian was also having his doubts about the little bird’s usefulness, and after sitting down beside his sleeping Treecko there was a certainty in his mind that the Starly was just going to be a stepping stone for his Magmar. ”Guess we will have to try again later.”

WILD STARLY APPEARED! [/style] Starly || Female || Keen Eye || Normal/Flying || Level 6 Tackle || Growl || Quick Attack The Starly didn't really like the feeling of her claws sinking into skin, but if it meant that she could get away, she would gladly take the discomfort. She needed to find her eggs! She needed to! Anything less than that was unacceptable in her eyes! She saw the bright expanse of the sky and immediately darted away from the Fire-type Pokemon's chest. Her freedom was in sight! All she had to do was fly up far enough and she'd be able to find her eggs! What she didn't see, however, was the Magmar's tail coming around to throw burning little bits of flame onto her back, and she let out a screech as the sensation caught her feathers, wings faltering for only a moment, but it was enough to send her tumbling to the ground, her rhythm interrupted. She panted harshly, knowing that between the sickness she felt inside and the pain her little body was feeling on the outside, she was about to give out, and it was only through sheer force of will that she was able to shakily make it back to her feet, panting hard just from the effort of having to stand. She had to find her eggs. She had to. She opened her wings and tried to dart forward again in another attack only to let out a sharp cry as her legs gave out and send her sinking to the floor, black flooding her vision as she lost consciousness from the toll of the poison coursing through her veins and the attacks that she had taken in the course of the short time frame between her arrival and this very moment where her body could take no more and shut down.
THE WILD STARLY FAINTED AND CAN NOW BE CAUGHT! VULCAN GAINED TWO LEVELS FOR WINNING AND IS NOW LEVEL EIGHT!
