As some of you know, I've been working on some new things for WK as of late (such as a shiny new skin, a timeline, new member classes, etc), and they are in their final stages of having kinks worked out and rules buffered up, I was just wondering a couple things that I want to hear from you guys, the members of our site. Sure, we're smaller and slower than a lot of sites, but we've been open for almost a year and a half now. So... Keeping that in mind, we've got another milestone coming up, and you kiddies just got, or will be soon, released from school for the summer.

So guys, here's the deal.

We're looking for suggestions for upcoming events and ideas for possible milestone marker giveaways that YOU might like to see! We try our best to make our members happy here, so seeing what sort of things you'd like to see more of is important!

Put your thinking caps on, guys! Within the next week, a new contest will pop up that will be taking suggestions or ideas for new roleplaying boards. Yep, you read it right! We're looking to add a few new boards to give WK a fresh feel and more opportunity! They could be either a main board or a sub board, so start brainstorming ... did I mention there will also be prizes for accepted ideas?

I'll be returning home from a rather hectic four day weekend at a friends for a late birthday celebration and will hopefully, not only with personal posts, but get a new post up for a new goodie for you guys. Also! Remember to be logging your accounts! - this is important!

It always feels awkward breaking the ice, especially when it's probably with a bad idea, but I got hit with this one earlier and I just can't help it. So I propose this: a Jirachi event!

The cold, bitter winds of winter are long behind us, and as spring shifts to summer, a certain Legendary Pokemon is awakening from a thousand-year slumber and ready to explore a world that's changed completely since it last appeared. And luckily for the people of Aether, this one isn't restricted to three wishes before it heads back to bed for the next millennium! And with the world so dark these days, it's looking to spread a little cheer to everyone it can before it sleeps - provided you can find it!

Here's how it would work: for a certain period of time, Jirachi would have a certain percent chance to appear in any modthreads. Now, it won't be catchable, and attacking it's probably not a good idea, but it'll drop a wish paper good for one of several wish prizes you can claim. (Tentative image - recolored Spell Tag ) I've got a whole list of possible prizes, but I'm not sure you'd be okay if it wasn't you picking them, but they'd be nice ones. >w> I'll add them if you're ever interested. I know it's probably a bad idea, but I'll be happy to do whatever I can to help out with it.

Oh Ra, Cori, that sounds like a fun idea. *^* *would love to run around with a Jirachi type thing* Okay, now let's see here, what would I want think would be a good idea... *taps lip* I'm just going to list these out and see what bullshit spills out of the ramble. And feel no guilt in saying any of them are shit, they most likely are

1 - Cloned Pokemon. Y'know, like Mewtwo way back in the first movie where it took all the Pokeymans and cloned them to prove clones were better. I'm aware this would probably suck horribly and that probably adding in some small color changes like they had in the movie would kill all of us, but it might be cool to have some other 'mon that have some odd coloring, even if they're not the flat-out different ones like the albinos, melanistics, or the zombies.

2 - Pokemon outbreak. Like an increased chance of some rare Pokemon or a handful we have on a list? Or some fossils we don't have or maybe even allow someone to catch some Epispect-cloned legendary baby with a moveset and ability we would make ourselves so it wouldn't be overpowered? I don't know. Maybe have a giant stampede of Tauros running down the streets just for shits and giggles.

3 - Tournament of some kind. Maybe Epispect makes a contest to try to catch people and TR ends up infiltrating it. Maybe that's how we debut the few Guardians we have and promo the remaining open spots? I don't know. I think it might be fun to pit some 'mon against each other, though we'd def need to terrace it and level cap so people don't get curb-stomped too easily.

4 - Crack tournament with the Gijinka. Let some of them act as Trainers and some of them have to be "Pokemon". Why? For shits and giggles. ... Most of my ideas already sound like that orz

5 - Break into Epispect. Just TR plots to break in and Epispect has to defend it. Probably a bad idea due to the low Epispect numbers right now, but still might be fun later on.

6 - Oddly colored Pokemon. And not a shiny outbreak. Like.... the chance to color in some new shiny 'mons and then release them into the wild. I don't even know. I'm probably getting dumber ideas the longer I talk about this. I should probably stop now :'D

All of these ideas I've mentioned are dumb. Go with Cori's idea, that actually makes sense and has way more thought put into it. Especially considering Kuros don't have a lot of thought to spare. I really just don't know what I'm doing anymore. Also, I think if you attack the Jirachi, it should divebomb you, light your hair on fire, and then turn all your wish papers into pieces of charcoal for no good reason *brick'd, crawls off now*

First off - Cori that's a great idea. Did you have an idea for the percentage for the chance of it appearing? Secondly, what sort of prizes did you have in mind?

Alright, Some of these ideas that you mentioned, Kuro, will happen eventually - especially team rocket infiltrating and going after epispect (but something important has to happen beforehand), but I want to take time to point out the tournament idea. I was thinking of running something of the sort, and to attract more people, the top three prizes would offer something fairly nice and, if one of them is illegal, to make them legal.

I'm not too keen on recoloring many pokemon - I would be for an event mon or two that wouldn't evolve or would just run around and cause chaos or what not, but as it is - the zombie mons, albinos and melanistics did take me a couple hours to color in full, it's a bit harder than one may think. x3

However, the cloning idea, even if only to kick asses or something else of the sort, might be possible - as we all remember the mutant lugia - there would need to be mons tested on before it to get to that point.

And for the recolors; I can totally show you guys an easy way to do that with MS Paint. I used to do recolors when I was a kid all the time. It takes about 10-15 minutes depending on if you do it the hard way or the easy way, if I remember correctly x3 If nothing else, I could offer to do some.

I... literally only have a little to do in terms of real life -/sobIhavenolife- and I would be more than happy to offer help if I can help you all in any way. Hm... Let's see what I can brainstorm.

- In the mountain range you have on here; I see mention of a village. Possibly it could come to light that there is a village there, and they are seen as somewhat primitive to the rest of the characters? I dunno, I can see such people being either really close to pokemon or... because of the setting and I see that as kinda a 'End of the Earth' type of deal with how isolated things are, maybe they don't even know that pokemon exist? It might be an amusing idea, but something would have to give cause for people to want to make a character of the type...
Maybe the could have a special communication with the legendary pokemon? Something like specific warriors representing each pokemon. Something similar to gijinka... but instead of using moves of pokemon, maybe they could do something like... Suicune is meant to purify water, etcetc. I dunno. Something to toy with.
Maybe they could also no battle in the way most people would, with pokemon or something. Maybe they are the first to fight hand to hand rather than with a pokemon partner. Might be something amusing to think about, but it might take too much to mend the battle structure you guys have to do it. If they are 'blessed' by the legends or something, maybe they could hold the same status as gijinkas or something.

The only real, huge, major issue I see with this would be the interest to make a character for them from the members, and possibly the fact it might be too... out there to add to a structured genre site. I don't know if it might be a bit too much fantasy-related to add into a Pokemon site x:
And then Epispect tries to figure out what makes them blessed by legends and how it works so they can profit trololol, and TR tries to do the same/get them on their side to fight against Epispect. Idunno.

- Maybe a widespread outbreak hits pokemon and gijinka for some time and makes them ill? Similar to the disease that first caused the gijinka to come into existence, but maybe something like what happened with the h1n1? It is a severe illness, but (mostly because people won't want their characters dying) not everyone who gets it, has to die?
And then something happens later to benefit the victims participants of the event. Maybe it can be tied in with the Jirachi event, like they have a higher chance to get the event on their board? Idunno. Something random like that.


- I VOTE FOR WAR. Or at least some sort of mini-major battle. I mean, come on, it's fun to just charge head-first at people with a battle cry.

People have been disappearing in the middle of the night. People start to think one side or the other is the cause behind it, and fingers start to be pointed to place blame so they can seek some safety in logic. When major players of both sides vanish though, it become apparent neither are behind it (or ARE they?). Later it is revealed that these people have been vanishing into the sea.
Something big happens and then it is revealed it's just some random group of ghost/psychic pokemon hypnotizing people and kidnapping them so they can have a endless party.

- Gender swapping for certain threads could be fun. It could just be a random event where people can choose to participate or not, I dunno. Maybe something is in the water that makes everyone believe they have been gender swapped.


- Maybe something else has to do with one of the teams putting something in the water. Epispect maybe finding something that could harm illegal gijinkas and only them (maybe their dna is a bit more unstable or something idunno). Maybe TR just wants to troll everyone.


- Pokemon egg giveaway! Have mystery eggs with a question mark on it given out to everyone who logs on for the day, one per person or something, and give it to one of their characters.


- Maybe an old ruin is found by the city, and it could jump into a deeper plot starting with the origins of the city and why it's cut off from the rest of the world. Have all sorts of things, maybe even a scene where a select group travels to the past to see the destruction of the old city first-hand (legendary pokemon destroying it maybe?). Could lead to making a new group that just wants everyone to stop fighting and could be seen as the equivalent of the general opinion of 'tree-huggers' in our world. Maybe finding the legends deep in a slumber in the ruins. Maybe just rare/shiny pokemon? Idunno. Ruins are fun. Full of traps and other fun things.

I would probably have more, but I haven't gotten the feel for this site and it's workings yet, so I don't know what sort of stuff you guys would be up for. That, and quite frankly, it's been so long since I've picked up a pokemon game I've forgotten a lot of the verse-laws governing what is possible and what is not possible.

Okay, lemme see, what did I wanna say here. ._. *stares at it* Oh right.

We cannot do a war simply because right now, the only group with the numbers to do it is the normal Gijinka. Everyone else would have to band together to do it, but the chance of blood not getting spilled in that group with TR and Epispect is slim to none between Oliver, Percy, Izzy, Taylor, Zack, and some of the others who I am no doubt forgetting. Those were just the ones I could think of right off the top of my head - my apologies to Oli, Percy, and Zack.

And as for the cloned 'mon, I mean, considering that the original clones, if they had differences, were only slight, such as the darker marks on the Charizard and the Blastoise or the spiky black spots on the ears for the Pikachu, I don't think they would take quite as long since, aside from those smaller details, the colorings would be normal and we wouldn't offer to do it for shinies. Maybe they could even be a separate bracket for the tournament, fighting some NPCs who have a cloned 'mon. Maybe even could do a thing like Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness and make them steal-able or a reward for beating the Trainer?

Now a few new ideas that have since occurred to me:

I just loved XD so much. Which, also on that note, maybe do some Shadow 'mon? I really need to stop having my ideas come from 'for shits and giggles'

> Maybe put into the tournament idea for "rental" Pokemon like what's there for Pokemon Stadium? Or offer rentals that are accurately leveled to fill in blank spots in a team but only have four moves, so you have more reason to use your own?

Sign characters up for Mystery Dungeon style: the characters would get turned into Pokemon based on how staff see their personality, or their Gijinka, and then they're stuck that way for a couple months until Arceus takes pity on them - after being a wrathful god, of course - and changes them back.

Now lemme see, notes to add to Ghostil's. Not picking on you, just adding something to it to explain a few things.

Wish Points. Every day you log in, you get one Wish Point while the Jirachi contest is going on, staff would log you at a certain time, and then when the event is over, there's a separate table for what you can exchange them for, the biggest prize for which could be, say, an actual Wish Tag.

> I tried old ruin type for Halloween with the Haunted House. Maybe we could adapt the boards there and make it into said old ruin and have that be the lair of that old Lugia. Or have it be taken over like the Pokemon Mansion back at Cinnabar and used for cloning to make those clones and then people can find out that guess what, if you get past a series of riddles and vaults, there are still some Pokeballs left kicking around, and we can give out one clone per member until everyone has one, then start again one clone per member for every round until the x number made originally is gone.

I don't know. Probably a lot of these ideas are crap and make no sense whatsoever. Or, in the latter case, are being too pessimistic and critical. I'm just gonna leave this here and crawl off now. >.>'

Sorry for taking so long to reply! I'm actually not sure what percentage Jirachi should appear at, to tell you the truth. ^-^' Maybe 10%? 15%? I don't want the event to end with no one finding it; rather, I'd like everyone to have a good shot at getting it. But making it too easy wouldn't be any fun either. In the end, it's really up to you, Ryuu, as would Jirachi's level. Just remember: attacking a Legendary, no matter how weak-looking it is, is a bad idea. So is throwing a Pokeball at it. >w> Although I personally hope someone does so that we can smite them for it. -shot-

As for the prize list, here are a few I've been thinking of; I know some of them are probably a little too out there, but this IS a "wish-granting" event, so while of course we can't grant wishes outright, it's still pretty high-up. >w>

• TM or TM SERUM 3-pack: Pick one or the other. This prize gives you three randomized TMs or TM Serums (if you're picking Serums, make sure to state who they're going to so there's no giving you something that you already have or can't use!)
  
• Pick any two Pokemon on the site, regardless of who they belong to, and get two eggs from them and another site Pokemon. No one pays, no Pokemon breeding downtime. BUT! If you decide to sell the babies, you must offer them to whoever owns the parent(s) first.
  
• Make one of your existing Pokemon shiny without paying a fee...or using up a shiny mule!
  
• One "halftone" shiny Pokemon - these would be shiny sprites layered over normal sprites and vice-versa to create slight color variations between the two, giving you an alternate colored Pokemon (though some pokemon aren't too different) without putting Ryuu through the hassle of having to recolor from scratch. Addtionally, their breeding stats would run 1/4 shiny chance, 1/4 normal chance, 1/2 chance that the Pokemon's offspring would be a halftone as well.*
  
• Choose one Pokemon you want and three other Pokemon as well and the first mon's type, ability, and moveset will be switched with one of latter group! (Just try to make the number of evolutions they go through even or close to it - they'll carry over) (also, I might off to recolor the Pokemon based on the ones they've been moveswapped with if Ryuu approves, I've been practicing but I'm not sure it's WK-quality or I have the authority)**
  
• Your choice between twenty Rare Candies, ten 2-level items (like the candy corn, snowflakes, and chocolate), or two ten-level items (since the majority seem to use them on one pokemon anyway).
  
• Money grab bag: Pretty self explanitory. You get a chance to grab a RNG'd amount of cash with this one, ranging from ¥200 to, say, ¥1500 or ¥2000. I know the proposed caps are high, but you'd have to be ~really~ careful with this one!
  

*Shiny halftone-examples (I'm sure Ryuu or Ghostil could pull these off better, I'm just playing with blending modes and adjusting transparency to get results):
- Vulpix, looks close to both colorations.
- Ponyta, looks more "unique" with its grey flames.
- Obligatory Eevee attempt. Kinda like the Vulpix in that it looks like both, greyer than the original but not completely grey/silver like the shiny.

**Color change examples (links so no one's eyes burn): Eevee with Ponyta-based colors, Vulpix with Shinx-based colors, Cranidos with Woobat-based colors (RNG'd this to make sure it worked with random mons)

As for some of the other event ideas, let me just say that I feel kinda dumb for only having one when there are so many out there. :'D Out of these, I think cloned mons would be cool, but I'm worried that might open the door for cloned characters/gijinka popping up, and I'm not sure if that'd go over. Still, Epispect's gotta have some whacked-out test subjects in there somewhere to casually escape after the chaos the big one made. >w> Not AS dangerous, of course, but I'm sure whatever they'd put those mons through wouldn't make them the friendliest little things. :'D Tournaments would be pretty cool, and if you need any npc trainers I'd be happy to fill in (my Pokemon are all pretty low-leveled at the moment, so I couldn't really participate if you want to keep the fights around the same level). Getting stuck as Pokemon sounds kind of fun too, as long as they can still keep non-Pokemon'd threads that were already up, just don't let anyone get captured! But most of all, I am ALL FOR the gender-bending event! XD Itwouldbehilariouswatchingalltheguys-stuck-as-girls.

For a starter, I would like to announce that I have selected a few of these events and am currently planning out when they should be staged, one of them will start within the next month, so keep your eye out! Also, I will post comments later, it's been pretty busy late with pre-anime con preparations, forgive me everyone. Dx I just finished mostly everything, so I have a little more time now.

I know its been nearly a month since the last reply to this but I was thinking, what about little things to get characters more involved? Like little side quests, or plots, or events. Things that are really really small. You could put a list of one-time side quests that people could claim that are more like mini one thread plots that have no weight on what's going on in the rest of the world. Things like finding lost items for people, like stolen pokemon, or other valuable items or even invaluable ones like an old lady's wedding ring she wants to pass down before she dies. Or delivering a message or parcel. You could give people the freedom to post their own quest to, for example finding that wedding ring, and do whatever they want, run into any npc's they want, and give a post limit of say 12 posts to complete the quest. I like the idea of throwing characters into random mini plots that you'd never really put them in on a normal day.

You could also do some of 'invasion' type things. Like a bunch of spider type pokemon invade a place and start leaving webs and egg sacks around causing mayhem and what not. Then end it with a boss battle with the mother of all spiders to defeat that is like level 50 or something and everyone's pokemons get KO'd with one hit so everyone has to get their characters to gang up on her to defeat her or something. Also along with this would be 'swarms' where each character could catch only one of the swarming pokemon type.

Another thing I thought of was to have some famous breeder go out and make some requirements that characters could collect. For example, the breeder might want a female pidgey, and everyone who delivers the pidgey to the breeder gets a random egg as a reward. Things that could be asked for could include 'a male pokemon that can breed with my charmander that knows Bite', 'a female dragon type', 'an egg', and other things like that. You could make them as broad or as finely detailed as you wanted. Depending on how difficult the requirement is you could have it run for a week to a month.
