LET THE WHOLE THING BLOW
B A S I C I N F O
★ NAME: Dawn Ari Isengard
★ NICKNAME: Ari
★ MEMBER GROUP: Team Rocket
★ POKEMON: Electrike
★ STATUS N/A
★ AGE: 18
★ HEIGHT: 4'11"
★ WEIGHT: 108 lbs
★ FACE CLAIM: Holo from Spice and Wolf
★ APPEARANCE:
If things had turned out differently, Ari might have had a far different future for herself. Even passing by her on the street, she still has a vague reminiscence of some level of importance: not royalty by any means, but little nuances of the way she carries herself, how she acts and moves, harken back to an older time full of dignity and honor. Some might speculate that she is some kind of Gijinka - perhaps a shiny Delcatty - since the kind of power that those "gods on earth" wield could have infused that kind of strength into her very being, but she really isn't anything more than a human whose family is said - among their own lore at any rate - to have descended from nobility inhabiting the mountains around Aether many centuries ago. For more discernible markers of her humanity, however, there are her mahogany eyes, a deep brown with the reddish hues inside being further accented by her bright red hair very much akin to the coloring of a piece of polished copper.
As far as clothing goes, Ari can be quite picky about exactly what she wears, one of the results of her grandmother's teachings. She has never really had much of a fondness for pants, even forgoing them and the experience of being able to properly ride a Pokemon in exchange for the more dignified look of riding sidesaddle, so it's not all that surprising to find that she wears a skirt or a dress. Her taste in clothing is very discerning, her clothing designed to flow with her and to hold up under the various situations that she might have to encounter, and as a result, it's not hard to find her with a pair of hardy brown boots and a skirt that allows for a surprising ease of movement given that it's a skirt. She usually wears a light-colored blouse, and occasionally she'll finish the look off with a small square of folded white sash that goes over her hair and makes her look a few years younger than she actually is. On the flip side of the spectrum, she will occasionally don a long brown cloak with dark mahogany trimmings, the hood almost always pulled up to make her look older and a deal more mysterious. No matter what she's wearing, though, a pouch with her items and Pokeballs never leaves her waist unless she's in her private quarters in Team Rocket's base, and she will be able to do whatever she has to do in order to complete her given task.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
★ POSITIVE:
- Reliable;; Being the inventive, stubborn person she is, Ari will get done whatever it is she's been tasked with, a rather valuable asset for Team Rocket to take advantage of.
- Innovative;; When backed into a corner, rather than give up, Ari is the type to turn her mind towards unexpected solutions to improve a situation that might even bring her an advantage.
- Level-headed;; Even if alarms are blaring and the enemy closing in, Ari won't get flustered, examining her options calmly before making her decision as to what to do next.
- Flexible;; Ari may start every morning with a definite goal in mind, but she's not opposed to having a wrench thrown into her plans if it's a good challenge with the possibility of a worthwhile reward at the end.
- Cautious;; While Ari won't over-analyze a plan searching for all the possible ways it could go wrong, she by no means makes rash moves that could backfire on her, especially in regard to matters of the heart.
- Patient;; Rather like a Persian awaiting a Rattata to emerge from its hole, Ari will wait for however long it takes for her to achieve results, observing her target until the moment arrives for her to pounce.
★ NEGATIVE:
- Short-tempered;; Ari might have good control of her emotions, but she is actually rather easy to anger, and when she is, her "passionate northern blood" ensures she doesn't stop until she's gotten all the anger out of her system.
- Single-minded;; When Ari sets her sights on something, she's not going to stop until she's accomplished whatever it is she set out to do, pursuing her goal with such determination that she will sometimes let other opportunities pass her by.
- Prideful;; Ari's grandmother imparted a fierce dignity into her, and while it hasn't turned her arrogant, she's also ill-suited to swallowing any perceived disrespect to her or her family.
- Two-faced;; There are precious few people Ari holds dear enough to never betray, and unless she counts someone in that number, she has no problem with turning traitor - for the good of Team Rocket, of course.
- Controlling;; Ari is actually a bit of a control freak, and while she can take orders with barely a blink of an eye, she would rather take command of a situation than risk herself becoming someone else's puppet.
- Independent;; Sure, Ari can take orders, and okay, she can work with others, but with her strong will, she's more likely to do something rash when with someone else than she is when alone or when placed in command of things.
- Sharp-tongued;; Ari has a tongue like a rapier, and while she will draw it back for the people it would behoove her to not get on the wrong side of, she can be downright vicious when unleashing it on someone.
★ HABITS, QUIRKS:
- Ari loves to have her hair stroked or combed, and when someone does it, the action will make the proud human sprawl out dozing, perhaps even falling asleep if she's that tired and/or comfortable.
- Ari's grandmother would often curse in what she called her native tongue, and even if Ari herself cannot speak the language, she is not opposed to the foreign curses when irritated or feeling particularly angry about something or someone.
- Ari is the last of her family name, and unlike her father, she takes this "duty" very seriously, holding herself to high standards imparted by her grandmother such as a distaste for wearing pants and a firm aversion to ever becoming a Gijinka of her own free will.
- Ari's family hails from the mountains, and though she hasn't lived there in her entire life, she still has a blatant preference for colder weather and the Pokemon which would make their homes in such regions: Ice-types.
★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Those who don't know who Ari Isengard is would be in for a rather good shock. She's human, she's female, and she's a member of Team Rocket. Most would dismiss her simply based on the fact that she's only a human in a world full of powerful Gijinka, but that's a big mistake. Ari is a valuable asset to have on the team, her dependability ensuring that she will do whatever it may take to accomplish her goals even if it may not fit in with her original plan. She's never the type to take something without retaliating, refusing to accept insults and returning the blows in kind. A proud woman, she may have her own ideas - making her a promising choice for management - but she also knows the value of obeying orders. Send her out on a task and she will not return without having accomplished it even if it means doing something she may not want to do. She will accept nothing less from herself.
On a more personal level, however, Ari Isengard is a prickly individual to deal with and nigh impossible to get close to. She often seeks refuge behind the persona of the "Ice Princess from the Mountains" (as dubbed by a past suitor, much to the amusement of her grandmother at the time), acting coldly towards those beneath her and those of her equals whom she felt did not deserve to be there. She can be a hard Trainer, working her Pokemon as hard as she can, and friend, betraying people in an instant if it would serve to benefit her goals and/or those of Team Rocket. In fact, Oliver Radleigh and Zackariah Knite are among the few people she would not betray, the human harboring a fierce enough respect for the both of them to place her loyalty firmly behind them and the rest of Team Rocket by extension.
However, just as the proud young woman may seem otherwise, Ari can develop a soft spot for someone; the fondness she carries her for Cubchoo Loki proves that she may not have a heart of ice after all.

H I S T O R Y
- After five long years of miscarriages and stillbirths due to the strains of her job as an Epispect hunter, Hana Isengard gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Hana and her husband Adrian, a scientist, had been cautiously pessimistic as the baby developed, so the two of them hadn't selected any baby names prior to the girl's birth, but luckily for them, it was easy to think of a name: baby Dawn, the start of a new life for the couple. Adrian's mother, Morgana, protested to this development, stating that she should have been consulted for naming the babe as per family tradition. Not wanting the influential, proud matriarch to write him and his wife out of the will, he agreed to letting her give Dawn her middle name, Ari.
- Young Dawn grew up rather spoiled by her parents, inevitable since she was the only child in a family where her parents both worked. For the first five years of her life, her father would bring her to work, keeping an eye on her and isolating her in his office with some toys to ensure she didn't interfere with any of the experiments, though when she was old enough to be sent to the local public school, her grandmother again interfered. Morgana scoffed at her son and daughter-in-law's idea of placing Dawn in child care after school, instead taking the child back to her elegant cabin on the outskirts of the main city. Hana and Adrian might have worried about how Morgana was bringing up their child, but with their jobs and the substantial amounts of money Morgana had stashed away, there was nothing they could do if they wanted to maintain the status quo.
- Morgana never called Dawn by her first name, preferring Ari to "whatever disrespectful name it is that her parents insulted their ancestor with", and the girl spent many a day listening avidly to the tales of her people, who had been part of a fierce tribe of northern warriors many centuries ago. Her grandmother instructed Dawn to follow the legacy of her family and eventually, when she was eight, taught her how to battle using the Pokemon Morgana had. No matter how hard she tried or which Pokemon partner she picked for the day, she could never quite manage to defeat her grandmother, a fact that gnawed at the young girl and drove her to train harder. It was during this time she received her first Pokemon, a Swinub from Morgana that she named Odin.
- When Dawn turned ten, her parents got her a Pokemon as a present, a young Cubchoo they hoped would encourage her to become a Trainer and one day follow in their footsteps to work for Epispect. Hana and Adrian were less than pleased when she promptly named the Ice-type Loki, but they let it pass, thinking the name would at least gain Morgana's tolerance of the Pokemon. Instead, however, Dawn kept Loki at home, using him as more of a pet than a training companion. She didn't want the stronger Pokemon her grandmother had to hurt Loki, so she instead spoiled him at home, never having any time to venture out and train him between her schoolwork and her grandmother's teachings.
- When she was fourteen, Dawn received the worst possible news. Her grandmother was sick, horribly so, and it was almost certain that she would die. The news shattered the poor girl's world, and she sobbed at the funeral neither of her parents attended. Hana and Adrian handled Morgana's estate, and Dawn began entering school tournaments with Loki and Odin, scoring every time but defeated simply because she was used to Morgana's Pokemon, who had been taken in by her parents, who refused to let Dawn have more than a single Seel since they were "far too powerful for someone so young". Life went on in this manner for the next three years.
- At age seventeen, while rummaging through her parents' desk for some old transcripts she needed to copy for a tournament, Dawn came across Morgana’s will, and what she found shocked her. The old woman had left Hana and Adrian some money, true, but the majority of her assets - and her Pokemon - had been left to her granddaughter. Enraged, Dawn confronted her parents about the will, and Hana and Adrian handled it badly. Hana stated that Dawn would get the money when she was responsible enough to handle it while Adrian insisted that "the old crone was crazy for not accepting the transfusion when she had the virus all because she was too close-minded to accept something people long dead might have considered unnatural".
- The incident turned Dawn against her parents. The moment she was legally able to, she changed her name from Dawn to Ari, blatantly revealing her loyalties rested with her late grandmother. At this slap in the face, Hana and Adrian kicked their daughter out from their home and refused to give her the money and Pokemon Morgana had left her. With only a small nest egg of money she'd managed to hide in the months since the confrontation, three Pokemon, a handful of belongings, and her pride, Ari turned her back on everything she'd ever been taught by her parents and threw her lot in with Team Rocket, wanting to redeem her family's honor the only way she had left, and she's been there ever since.
