The only thing that could possibly be louder would be a tea kettle with bass boosted or some stupid crap like that. You'd think her imaginary sister told her she prefered a rabbit to her by the way she absoluely shrieked. Of course, her screams lasted for about thirty seconds before tappering off with the sound of frantic scrambling and more pathetic but softer yelps of terror. "AAAAAH!" Behind her was the most horrific pokemon to ever grace the earth. It was a flippin' drifloon. That thing was trying to steal her soul. "NO NO NO!" All that time she spent in soccer practice was certainly paying off. She had been a spoiled little brat, but she had been healthy spoiled litle brat. "I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Not here and not yet, anyway, but those kinds of thoughts certainly didn't race through the mind of a terrified nine year old. Charmy had gotten curious and decided to explore her new home. She knew "kids" that were older (read: competent) got to have their own pokemon and do really cool training (read: get harassed to do missions or such). She, too, wanted to do really cool things to help out Team Rocket. Pity the first pokemon to follow her was a freakin' driftloon. Why was it even here?! Charmaine rounded a corner, ducking quickly under a desk to avoid being seen. The ominious presence and eerie noise (to a nine year old girl) of the drifloon passed by with a melancholy "phoo-on". For perhaps a minute, Charmy stayed under the desk, shaking. Her eyes shut, tears well up. 'I... I can't even face a stupid d-drifloon!' she thought miserably. She wiped her tears onto her sleeves, clenching her teeth as she shook in fear. She brought her knees to her chin and sobbed quietly. She'd tried to use growl on the drifloon--and had--but it thought that she was trying to engage it in battle. That wasn't the case; she just wanted it to leave her alone. The girl's body trembled with breathy, restrained moans of self pity. She frowned. She really needed a pick-me-up. She smiled, forcing herself to be happy. Her togepi DNA picked up on this and the supernatural power coursed through her veins. She actually felt happy. After the death of both of her parents less than a month ago by the same kind of folks that had almost sent her to the slaughter, it was really the only way she kept going. She had to force herself to be happy. Perhaps it was like an addiction. Maybe she was crippling herself by relying on this falsified joy to put a bandaid on the grief she didn't want to expirence. It felt too good in comparison to letting reality fully weigh down on her, though. The child giggled from her abundant joy, thinking herself clever rather than cowardly for ducking under the desk. Surely one day her excellent "ninja skills" would come in use! When she got to be like the big kids and do cool things for Team Rocket she was going to be the best! Nodding confidently, Charmy headed back into the direction she knew most of the other members milled about in. She wanted to hang around someone. Her just was infectious and ached to run wild. As soon as she spotted someone, she would run up to them and attempt to wrap her hand around theirs in a childish greeting. "HI! I'm Charmaine! Who're you? It's a nice day! What're you doing?" Kid was going to end up messing with the wrong person, one day.[/style][style=background: #8a96a4; color: e9dbc8; font: 11px Tahoma; border-left: 3px solid #8a96a4; border-right: 1px solid #8a96a4;]♣ tagged none ♣ word count 621 ♣ notes 3399FF for color ♣ ♣ credits template by jawn of AA, OTE, DMB and TC ♣[/style] | [atrb=style, width:20px] |
