[/div]

Ready to give it one more shot Lina gave a cry as the leader made a move to grab her, his eyes filled with greed and hate for her outburst. She would have sent a Flamethrower his way if Tobias didn’t point his sword at the trash, making him in the line of fire. Though it ticked her off some, she thought the action was sweet. Tobias’ threat only made the creep madder, his eyes flashing. “If you think you can take us all on with just those two puny Pokemon and a sword, you have another thing coming!” and with that the leader gave the order to attack. Thugs can at them left and right, going for Tobias and the weaker ones, who weren’t guarding their goods (and from what she can see, it’s an egg!), to attack her. Ah, they think she’s weak and helpless~
Lina smirked, leaving Tobias to battle the ones going for him since he looked like he was ready to show them just who they’re messing with, and moved her body to avoid injury while firing the Flamethrower she wanted to use on their boss. The weaklings fell like flies as the human behind her easily took down the stronger of the lot with Ariel’s help. Keeping a close ear on his progress and an even closer eye on the leader to make sure he didn’t run or make a cheap shot, she made her way to the egg that the weakest of the thugs were guarding. She smiled when they ran for their lives, and easily plucked up the egg.
It felt warm, and moved a lot, meaning it would hatch soon. This excited the Houndoom, in her hands is a new life that, if she could get away with taking it home, would depend on her and be her first Pokemon. She honestly didn’t care if the Pokemon that came out was a Dark type at the moment, she’d love it. Eyes focused only on the precious egg in her arms, Lina left herself wide open for the boss to attack her from behind.

Words;; 575 Tags;; Lina Bellecourt Eggs;; - - 9/10 Layout by Kuroya Notes;; Tobi's so badass when he fights... and part of the reason he is badass is because he's still a human. :'3 Kuro loves her kickass human. She loves him so much... But don't worry Ceci, I know not to touch
"Heh," Tobias snorted at the other's words, a smirk turning up the corners of his lips. "I don't think that my Pokemon and I can send you all running with your tails between your legs, I know that we can send you running." When the people began to swam in towards him, he wheeled on his heel, catching three blades against his own. "Ariel, let's go, Sonicboom!" he cried, and the Buizel let out a loud cry, his tails spinning as he darted between his Trainer's legs and let out a harsh howl, the sound waves pushing them back from his Trainer. Tobias' eyes swept over the group he was facing, Ariel's chest heaving a little as the canine panted heavily from his blitz attack. "Three against one, how unfair," the human remarked casually to his Pokemon, the Water-type looking at him. "It'll be such a shame when we make them faint, they should've known better." One of them, angered by the ashen blond's cocky jab, lunged for the human in a Quick Attack, which Tobias was able to sidestep, his body flowing with the movement as he then used the advantage to smack the guy in the head with the hilt of his blade, forcing him to fall unconscious. Another one of the three had electricity darting along his hand before he fired it off at Ariel, the Buizel quickly using Substitute to take the attack before he took advantage of the dust created by the shattering doll to lunge forward in a Quick Attack with his fangs bared and an Ice Beam hitting the other in the face.
Mulan watched as the group ran off, leaving behind their egg for the girl Lina to pick up. Good, that meant she wouldn't have to get involved. Nodding to herself, she darted over and set down the wobbling egg in her arms right next to Lina's feet, trusting her to keep an eye on it while she then ran over to the third guy who was trying to throw some bright green light at Ariel. Growling - she was not about to let her fellow Pokemon get hurt like that, cowardice or not - she gathered up all the heat inside her before letting it out in a fierce spiral attack, an Overheat that scorched the two and resulted in them darting off again with their tails between their legs. Ariel huffed, crossing his arms in a clear message to Mulan that he had been handling it, but she just rolled her eyes, well aware that was the Buizel's way of thanking her. Suddenly, both Pokemon seemed to realize that they couldn't see Tobias, and they wheeled around looking for him before they both let out a gasp, the human having cut around to the side and then darted forward at the last second to place his back to the Gijinka girl's, his blade held very close to his chest as he blocked a very powerful Shadow Claw from the boss. "Attacking a lady from behind, how low," Tobias spat, sky blue eyes narrowed as the muscles in his arm and shoulder surged, shoving the man backwards. "It's times like this that make me realize how far honor has slipped by people," he continued, his blade glinting in the light as a flick of his wrist sent it back to a ready position as he slowly sauntered towards the man, ready for this next fight.

[/div]

Ready to give it one more shot Lina paused in her marveling over the egg in her possession when she felt another warm and smooth surface rest against her legs. Looking down she managed to catch Mulan setting Tobias’ egg against her before running off to help with her Trainer’s fight. Chest swelling with pride, she moved to pick up the egg and move someplace safer to guard her new treasure and the black and red egg of her new acquaintance. She heard the battle cry before she felt someone behind her, looking towards that direction to see Tobias blocking a Shadow Claw the leader had aimed for her back. That was close, she thought, as the blonde human pushed back the scum to fight him one-on-one.
“Kick his ass, Tobi!” she called impulsively, not caring if he didn’t like the nickname or not, both their eggs in her arms as she moved closer to his two Pokemon for safety.
“I’ll stain these streets with your blood, Tobias! I’ll make millions off your Gijinka friend and your Pokemon!” the thug ignored the small group watching as he went for another Shadow Claw, eyes mad with rage as he charged full force at the human. The speed and focus of this monster would greatly injury the human, so setting down the eggs Lina used a quick Foul Play to knock his health down and those slow him down. Though her attack did the job perfectly, the boss was too enraged to give up and stumbled towards his target, wanting to finish him off and lay claim to his desired prizes.

Tobias ignored Lina's cry as he slowly sauntered forward, his blade in the ready position. To be honest, it was hard to tell if he was even aware of the world around him so great was his focus on his opponent, the human very much in tune with his blade. It was something he'd learned and learned well, how to close out the world and get in tune with his instincts. It was his outlet, his way of stepping back from the pain and anger that had once consumed his life, a way of letting it out so that it was at a manageable level. As the leader ran towards him, the fencer actually closed his eyes, his blade perfectly balanced in his hands as he began timing it, the only reaction he showed was a slight tightening of his jaw when the girl behind him threw an attack out, making him have to strain his ears a little harder to compensate for her throwing his timing off. Still, he managed to time it almost perfectly, his sky blue eyes flying open again as he twisted his hips to the side, neatly stepping around the lunge directed towards him much to the shock of the thug. "What the-" the man growled before lunging again, something that Tobias again dodged, though this time he accompanied it with a stinging smack with the side of his blade, which elicited a loud yelp from the gang member. "I'm not going to say it again. Leave now, or I will make your doctor a rich man," the human spat, in that instant looking a deal more intimidating than he generally appeared with his narrowed eyes and the sword blade dancing lightly in the air.
During the fight, Mulan had wandered back over to Lina, biting her lip and pushing up on her tiptoes to tug on the very edge of the girl's skirt. "Snub snubbull?" she murmured quietly, pointing to the black and red egg in the girl's arms. She knew that the other girl would take care of the egg, but she was a little paranoid, afraid that her Trainer would get mad at her or that he would run off without warning her while she was looking after the egg. Besides, she didn't need to attack anything now, so she could guard the egg again. When the egg was placed on the ground for the attack, she just nodded a quick thank you and scooped the egg up in her arms, waddling towards Ariel's side where the Buizel was anxiously watching their Trainer fight, the Water-type whining loudly as his tails spun, trying his hardest not to leap in and protect their Trainer, an instinct Mulan was having to fight as well. Suddenly, the egg gave a fierce wobble in her arms, forcing her to hastily set it down so that it wouldn't make her drop it or lose her balance, her large eyes widening in alarm. It looked like the egg was hatching!

Lina watched as Tobias smoothly dodged the leader’s attacks, giving him a good smack with his sword. He looked well in his element, so focused, that she thought her attack may have been uncalled for. But he saved her, so in return she wanted to give him an edge over this guy. She felt a tug on her skirt, turning her to look down at Mulan, the Snubbull asking for the very warm egg her Trainer owns. She knelt to do so when she got ready to attack the brute, leaving her egg alongside Tobi’s at her feet. Mulan picked up Tobi’s egg to keep watch of and guard and waddled back to Ariel. This made her look at and admire her egg some before turning her gaze back to the fight. The boss looked so mad and humiliated right now, it gave the Gijinka satisfaction to see it and the cowardly fear when he saw Tobias’ glare, sharp and steely. The threat the human gave seemed more real than ever. Lina eyed Tobias’ stance carefully, taking it in. She normally just threw attacks at her foes and throw mean punches to win. This was a whole new way to fight that she never dreamed of. The idea of learning to use a sword the way he does set a fire in her that she wanted to make last.
Mulan gave a small sound, making her look to see if any of the lackies remained and were trying to swipe her and the egg. She saw Mulan set the egg down, it wobbling and moving fiercely. It looked like it was gonna hatch! Ears on the fight and eyes on the egg, she saw in amazement the black and red egg glow a dazzling white as it morphed into a more canine shape. When the light faded in the egg’s place stood a wobbly little Houndour. Lina turned her attention back to the fight and moved closer to the three Pokemon, her own egg wobbling more and more.

Tobias arrogantly turned his back to the thug, letting out a soft scoff as he turned to see what had so alarmed Mulan. His sky blue eyes immediately widened, however, when he saw the way the egg was quaking before the little Snubbull. Sheathing his sword quickly, he ran over to Mulan just in time for the egg to make a loud crack, a single paw pushing out the side of the shell before the whole thing fell apart, sending a little Houndour pup tumbling into the world on four gangly paws. Tobias reached out to try to right the little canine when the puppy instead sat up on his own, cocking his head to the side as he stared at his Trainer. "Dour?" he barked, cocking his head to the side as he stared at the human, a confused look on his face. Tobias chuckled quietly, reaching out to ruffle the little canine's ears with one hand, his elbow resting against the bony part of his knee, pressing into his thigh. Suddenly, the Houndour let out a low growl and lunged forward, fire glinting in his mouth as a Fire Fang as Tobias fell back with wide eyes, unable to believe that the hatchling could possibly attack him without provocation.
And he was right. The puppy immediately latched onto the thug lurking behind Tobias' back, his teeth sinking into the Gijinka's arm when he tried to take advantage of the human's shift in attention to try to attack him. "Down!" Tobias yelled, getting quickly to his feet, his sword clutched tightly in his hands. "Jafar, down!" He didn't know why, but the name for the pup came naturally to him, and as soon as he spoke it, the Houndour removed his teeth with a growl, his muzzle twisted in a snarl as he backed protectively towards his Trainer, who had shifted his hips so as to place himself between the boss and Lina. He refused to let her get hurt, not when there was something he could do to prevent that.

When the new born Houndour growled and jumped to attack, Lina thought that his target was Tobi. She moved to stop the little pup, but she didn’t take a set when she saw that the puppy was after the thug who, while they marveled over the baby Pokemon, moved to attack Tobi while his back was turned. She smiled, hearing the little guy’s new name and seeing that slug in pain from the fiery bite. She shifted to stand behind Tobi and his little gang of Pokemon, feeling tired from using her more powerful attacks and not fighting as often as she liked. Her job prevented her from finding any places like a dojo to practice in, since it was so low pay she needed to work heavy hours to get by. So now, giving her all in this battle and helping Tobi get an edge over the large thug, she was feeling a bit light headed.
Lina’s smile turned into a frown when she felt her egg give a violent shake. Setting it down, knowing Tobi was in front of her, ready to take out that bastard once and for all - allowing her to concentrate on her own hatching egg. It shook violently, the baby inside struggling to get out of the thick shell that has protected it for so long. Lina got ready to catch the little one when it cracked the shell and stumbled into his or her’s new life, ready to welcome it with open arms like they deserve.

Tobias smirked inwardly when he saw the thug back away slowly, obviously intimidated by the odds of five to his one. The coward. Still, he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, and he decided to see if he couldn't push this along a little. He made as if he was going to lunge forward, an easy enough feint and one he was more than familiar with through his fencing, and it presented him with immediate results, the thug flinching and darting back more than a few steps, only some shred of dignity keeping it from being a flat out run with his tail tucked up between his legs. Ariel, quickly catching onto his Trainer's idea, leapt forward too, snarling and growling and snapping, and while the Buizel wasn't usually the least bit intimidating, he had made himself seem far bigger than he actually was, and so the man ended up running off fairly soon, leaving Tobias to chuckle as he sheathed his blade. "Well, that was fun," he remarked with a casual grin tossed over his shoulder when he instead blinked at the sight that Lina presented, his jubilant mood from having successfully one-upped a Gijinka shifting to surprise when he saw her.
"Huh, didn't know you had an Absol egg," he stated, turning around and kneeling down in front of the egg as it rocked back and forth violently before it suddenly burst open to reveal a gaggle of rusty red limbs as the baby Pokemon stumbled out into life, having broken open the shell with one strong hit. After a quick glance at the Pokedex in his pocket to confirm the baby's gender - and that he was a Shiny Pokemon with his strange red tint - the human gave the female Gijinka an easy grin. "I'm sure he'll grow up strong, if that's anything to go by." He then reached to the side to scratch Jafar's little ears, making the puppy's butt wriggle happily since his tail was too short to properly express his pleasure from the action, and waited patiently to see what would happen next.

She watched the egg give a few violent shakes before the shell cracked open suddenly to reveal a red Absol flaying it’s little legs to straighten itself into an upward position. She readily moved to help it, just catching Tobi’s comment. She looked up to see his easy smile and return his with a happy smile of her own.
“Thank you, I’ll do my best to train him to his full strength!” she stated, as a reply to him and a promise to herself. She will do her best to raise her new Absol like he deserves. She’ll make sure he doesn’t suffer like she has or how he would have if she and Tobi hadn’t been attacked by that gang of greedy thugs. The Absol, his thick fur reminding her of rust and for some reason blood, cocked his head at her and kept his sharp green eyes trained only on her. He looked so adorable like that!
“Hello there, welcome to the land of the living, Crimson,” she said, reaching a hand to pet him on the head. She spoke his name with love, as if she had the idea in her mind for ages instead of it slipping from nowhere. Crimson readily allowed his new trainer to pet him and immediately returned her affections with loving nuzzles. She thinks he knows how close he was to a horrible life that he was and is grateful that he was saved. She giggled a bit at the feeling of his soft fur. Lina looked to Tobias, who was scratching Jafar’s ears and by the looks of it the puppy was very happy.

Ariel let out a whine when he realized that his Trainer wasn't paying attention to him because he was too busy scratching behind the ear of the Houndour that was now leaning against his legs with a wriggling butt from his short tail still trying to wag with all the enthusiasm better fit for a longer one. He immediately scampered over to Tobias' side to whine at him, pawing at his jacket until the human put his hand on his head and began rubbing the base of his fin there, making him let out a soft growl of contentment as his twin tails began spinning slowly behind him. The human let out a wry chuckle, taking his hand from Jafar to rummage around in his pocket for the baby Pokemon's Pokeball, finding it and pressing it to the top of the canine's head so that no one would be able to bully the weaker dual type, at least not until Tobias could find some time to go tramping about looking for some Pokemon to train with. Ariel, understanding what that meant, let out a soft whine of protest but nodded, darting a little ahead again to go back to sniffing around cautiously.
Tobias' brow furrowed at the Gijinka's question. "Look," he sighed, "I like you and all, but things aren't that simple. I haven't even been part of the gang in a few months, so there's no telling they'll even take me back. It's a rough life, and the fact that I couldn't be there means that I've forfeited my ties. Who knows if they'll be willing to take me back again? Besides, I didn't come out here to go back to this life. I came out here to try to find someone who would teach me how to perform a transfusion." He sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair and carving furrows into the locks before they shifted back into place once again. "What I'm trying to say is, it's a hard life, and there isn't as much glamour in it as you might think there is. No matter how tough you think you are, you're gonna find that you're not tough enough. So please... just stay out of it. I'd rather not have to explain to someone why a sweet girl like you ended up dead in a back alley."

She was not weak! She’s been living on her own for two years now, fighting street scum after her blood on and off for just as long, and has next to no marks from living there! “Excuse me, but I’ve been living here for two years under less than reasonable conditions! I’ve been in more fights than I care for while here and I am still alive. I can take care of myself just find!” she spat, feeling insulted. Though those thugs she fought were weak, Lina could take out many who were stronger than her if given the chance. She knows that, and she knows she’d be an asset to any gang or organization if she was willing to join them. She stared hotly at Tobias as she petted Crimson, feeling around for the Pokeball she snagged along with his egg to place her new friend inside. She couldn’t have anyone try to steal him from her now with all the trouble that’s happened. And she couldn’t let them hurt her friend with their greed like that. When she found it, Lina did the same thing Tobi did with Jafar and tapped Crimson lightly, the white light absorbing him inside to claim him as hers. “I’ve been living a hard life here; I know I can handle this. I know what I’m trying to get into. But I want to help people, I can’t go to Epispect and Team Rocket just gives me the creeps. And I can’t do this on my own.” She sighed, feeling like this was getting her nowhere. “If you don’t want to take me there, fine by you. Since I don’t know who the gang is I won’t go nosing around. Words;; 588 Tags;; Lina Bellecourt Eggs;; None Layout by Kuroya Notes;; Ariel does not like people threatening his Tobi, not at all.
As soon as Ariel heard the girl start spitting out harsh words honed to hurt, he let out a growl and shot back to his Trainer on all fours since it was faster, pushing himself back up again with his paws spread in a ready position, his muzzle twisted in a snarl as he showed his teeth. He was bristling, trying to make himself look bigger, all to protect Tobias, and there was no doubt in his mind that if she made a move to threaten them, he wouldn't hesitate to spring forward and attack her. He knew the red-tinted Absol would likely make a move too, drape his body protectively between her and the Buizel, but to be honest, he didn't even care, he would still attack to protect Tobias. Besides, he knew he could take an Absol, this one was only a newborn, and he had Mulan to back him up if he needed it. He could feel his anger building higher and higher, and his muscles began to coil towards launching himself at the Gijinka when suddenly, there was a sharp command from his Trainer. "Down, Ariel, bad!" He turned his head to the side slightly, just enough to give Tobias a scathing glare while keeping Lina in his line of sight, but the human didn't back down, meeting the look with just as much emotion in his sky blue eyes. "I mean it, Ariel, down," he stated in his no-nonsense tone, and after a moment more, the Buizel let out a huff and crossed his arms, grumbling mutinously under his breath as he looked to the side.
Having handled that problem, Tobias sighed, dragging his hand through his hair again. What a mess he'd made of this. "Look," he said brusquely, "I'm not trying to insult you. I know life in the slums is tough. Believe me, I know. I'm not saying that the challenges you face aren't difficult. What I'm saying is once you sign up to something like that, there's no going back. Not now, and not ever. I got lucky in that I was able to take a break for a few years to train Mulan up and then to give Ariel here a bit of work too. Usually, you're in for life, and you only get out when you die. It's a tough life, and no one mourns you when you're dead. No one patches up your wounds when you're hurt - they're more likely to attack you all the harder to take advantage of the opening." He paused to take a breath, blinking back the memories as best he could. "Besides, joining a gang... it's not up to me. Gangs don't recruit anyone without the approval of a lieutenant or the leader, and I'm hardly qualified to do either. I probably can't even go back today, not with Jafar having hatched now, he's gonna need time and some work to get him strong enough to hold his own in a fight like these two can." Sure, Mulan was twice Ariel's level, but the difference was that they were roughly equal. Mulan's shy personality left her unwilling to fight, while Ariel's proud one had him raring to go, making them about a match for each other in strength, which was why he hadn't thought twice about bringing them both with him. But a baby Houndour who was just looking for attention? No, he'd need to train that up a little, get him a little more powerful before he tried anything.

He draped his body over Lina, not worried about being weaker than the Buizel by many levels as he was, he would fit with all his strength until his new legs gave out and he couldn’t get back up to continue. He felt the girl before him wrap her arms around him and pet him gently, her hands soothing over his fur as she sent the Buizel her own threatening glare. He could feel her holding back a growl, the strain humming on her vocal cords. They bother watched as Ariel was scolded and ordered to back down by Tobias, his voice full of authority that the Water type couldn’t disobey. The threat now handled, Crimson relaxed in his trainer’s arms and rubbed his head against her cheek to help calm her down. There was no need to fight, not now anyways.
Lina started to deflate as she listened to Tobi, not liking what she heard basically but she listened. Life was hard in the slums, especially when you lived in the Jungle. You take every advantage you can get there. Lina had almost all she needed to build a house in the Canopy, and with Crimson’s help she knows she can make it out. As much as she could trust the next person in this area as far as she can throw them, that didn’t mean she wanted to leave them behind. From how Tobias was looking as he described his time in a gang, joining one wasn’t the answer to her want to play hero. When he finished, her anger from her insulted pride blew away in the wind, her hands busy petting Crimson. She couldn’t act on impulse now, Crimson was too weak to handle a battle like the one she fought to get him and keep alive. She was strong, but not strong enough to take on a whole gang on her own. “At least… teach me how to use a sword?” she asked, already having conceded to his warnings. Lina couldn’t put her Absol in danger, she promised herself she wouldn’t. Having a weapon when her attacks ran out would be a great help, maybe she could use that skill to help the few innocent people here find a somewhat better life. No-one deserved to rot away in a hell hole, forgotten by the masses.
Let the game begin, need something to believe in [/div]
