This is the birth of all hope It was nice to see the Golett emerge from it's shell-like body. He'd been a bit worried that the pokemon wouldn't - that he'd stay crammed up, refusing to come out. Johan wasn't nearly mean enough to attack a pokemon like that, after all, so he'd have been forced to simply leave it be. That would have been a pity, considering how many people were interested in ghost types. The ghost seemed much more comfortable, and Johan could only blink to himself as the pokemon poked Plinfa in the head. The little piplup made a small squeak, reaching up to rub at the spot on his head. "Hey! Don't poke there!" Came the squeak of the little penguin, flippers going to it's hips as it gave a halfhearted glare to the other pokemon. "Play nice, Plinfa. We did bother him first." Him? It? Johan had no idea.

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] Golett || Genderless || Iron Fist || Ground / Ghost || 08 Pound || Astonish || Defense Curl || Mud Slap || The teal coloured Pokemon looked vaguely worried when the Piplup protested to his forehead pokes. He supposed that he wasn’t too good at others in general, because he’d done little but watch for so long. Some of the local Pokemon knew him and just passed him by, leaving him to his own devices. Most of the humans thought he was a lawn ornament and left him be as well. He rarely moved, which was probably part of it.
”Gol… Golett…” I do apologize.
[/color] The rocky Pokemon said rather ruefully, bowing his head just a bit to show that he was sorry. He then turned towards the human and bowed in a similar manner; the Golett was a of the humble sort, not wanting to get in the way or bother anybody. He reached out one stiff arm, holding it out to the Pokemon as if asking for those human things called handshakes. That’s what humans did to greet each other sometimes, he’d learned from watching all of them doing just so in the park. He hoped he was being polite enough. This is the birth of all hope The golett seemed nice, and it was fairly obvious what it was doing as it bowed, then offered it's hand for a shake. It was so polite - which was especially nice considering how many rude pokemon he'd encountered as of late. Johan paused, then reached out, giving the little stone hand a firm shake. "It's very nice to meet you. I don't suppose you happen to want to come home with me? You must be bored in this park." It was a nice little offer, really. Johan knew of a few people who'd want a Golett, and even if he wasn't one of them, he'd make sure the pokemon went to a good home. Celeste (who's name has magically been retconned) seemed excited by the idea, enthusiastically waving her arms. "Pip pip~!" She called, giving Golett her very best smile.

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] Golett || Genderless || Iron Fist || Ground / Ghost || 08 Pound || Astonish || Defense Curl || Mud Slap || The Golett took the human’s hand as gingerly as he could, careful not to engage any strength lest he wanted to crush the poor boy’s fingers. He seemed so nice after all, and he had no real reason to be rude. The human was starting to speak to him, and thanks to his many years living in the park, he understood some of what he said. Watching humans for so long gave the Golett insight into some of their language, and though not all of it was understood, he got some gist of what he wanted.
”Gol…” The Golett pointed out towards the fence that surrounded the park, asking if there was where he’d go; over the fence. He’d spent quite a lot of time at the park, and though he found it cozy and nice and familiar, he felt as if staying here much longer would make him static.

This is the birth of all hope It was easy to determine what the golett meant, and Johan gave an enthusiastic nod. "Yes. Out there. I'm sure you'd have a great time." He commented, and Celeste stepped forward, giving an enthusiastic grin of her own. "Pip pip!"Johan reached down, fishing into his pocket, and withdrew an empty pokeball, holding it out with one hand and tapping the top of it with the other. "If you want to come, just poke the button."

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] Golett || Genderless || Iron Fist || Ground / Ghost || 08 Pound || Astonish || Defense Curl || Mud Slap || His basic command of the human language told him that what he thought was sort of confirmed, buy the tone and the excited gesturing. He was going over the fence? That would have been absolutely wonderful; seeing the city, if not the world if the human wanted. The Golett didn’t seem to react much to what he said about over the fence, as his facial expression didn’t exactly hold that much capacity, but he was excited nonetheless. He’d lived a humble life in the park so far, and though the world out there sounded rather dangerous, he was willing to give it a try. If he didn’t like it? Back to the park with him.
A capsule-like object was held out to him; red at the top, white at the bottom. The human was tapping at the top with one finger, and curiously, the Golett reached out and began to tap the top too. It made a hollow sound and, with curiousity, he tapped the white bottom as well. Now, what was that round thing at the bottom?
Everything disappeared in a white flash.
Golett was caught!

This is the birth of all hope [/styleJohan was pleased with his success. He preferred the captures that took no violence, the wins that meant no one got hurt. He stooped, collecting the pokeball carefully, and tucked it away on the end of his belt. making a mental note to trade the pokemon away in the future. The librarian had wanted ghosts, hadn't he? Johan was by no means the man's friend, but they had spoken a few times, when Johan had been over there collecting books. With Celeste at his heels, Johan headed into the park once more, continuing his rounds. WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] Kricketune || Female || Shed Skin || Bug || 10 Growl || Bide || Fury Cutter || - - - || Deep in the park, in the faraway reaches of the bush that lay around the back where nobody really went, a large red bug sat at ease. Much like some head of a company would do, she sat back in the most comfortable bush and groomed her moustache, running a claw through it as she puttered about and pondered whatever could happen in a day.
Nobody wandered this far back into the bush, and usually when they did, they were drawn in by her singing. Almost as if there thought itself jumped to life, the Kricketune folded her long, scythe-like arms in front of her and rubbed them together. Then came a melodious rhythm, common sounding, and she was definitely able to be more complex than that… but for the time being, she would be satisfied with singing alone.

This is the birth of all hope Johan had never been very artistically inclined. Music, art... none of those things had ever really interested him. Photography, yes, but that was more of a random fluke then anything else. He heard the music, the strange melody, but paid it no mind. Music was not for him, after all, and he had other places to go, and people to see. "Celeste, I think you should rest." He commented, drawing out a blue colored pokeball before returning the piplup too it. Pulling out an orange one, he tossed that instead, releasing Zaffre, his torchic. (Skipping)

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] IT’S A SHINYRoselia || Female || Poison Point || Grass / Poison || 12 Absorb || Poison Sting || Growth || Stun Spore || Some distance away from the singing Kricketune, there sat a bush full of flowers. Most of them were pretty red roses; a thorny bush that grew singular and wild in the park. Nobody really knew how such a thing got there, as there were no native roses around… but somehow, a single bush grew in the shade of a tree. The blossoms themselves were vibrant, classic lipstick red and grew sporadically during certain seasons.
There were two blooms, however, that were not red. One was a light purple, almost violet, while the other was black. They stuck out of the top of the bush, capturing the sunshine as it came down and looking rather out of black among their red kin. Nobody bothered the bush because it was generally considered an oddity, but it didn’t stop the occasional child from wandering away from their parents to try and pluck the oddly coloured blossoms on the top.
Anybody who did that got a poison sting to the butt.

On occasion, they were nice to look at, but if someone said they were going to buy him a congratulations flower arrangement, nine times out of ten he'd tell them not to bother. The tenth case, as it always was when it came to exceptions for Johan, was Conrad. Konrad loved flowers. So when he passed a bush with too particularly interesting flowers, he paused, staring at them. Purple? Well, that was interesting, but a black rose? They were so out of place he was forced to stare, Zaffre bouncing around his feet.
His first instinct was to pluck them - but no, that wouldn't work. He needed to get the whole thing intact if he wanted to please Conrad. His cousin would want to replant it. So Johan, knowledgeable as he was, bend down and tried to push the rose bush open, so he could see if the two unique flowers were a separate plant or a connected one. WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] IT’S A SHINYRoselia || Female || Poison Point || Grass / Poison || 12 Absorb || Poison Sting || Growth || Stun Spore || The uniquely coloured Roselia rested in her designated bush; the only rose bush left in the city and, by the looks of the world outside, possibly left to survive the apocalypse. After the initial downfall, the Roselia had taken liberty of common sense and knew that flowers wouldn’t exactly be a priority once the world was doomed. In turn, she had taken some rose seeds and stashed them away. Once the turmoil settled, she planted one, and soon sprang her home. She guarded the single bush with her life.
She was bathing in the sun that day when she felt something rustle just above her. A deep frown etched the rose Pokemon’s features as she felt someone begin to fiddle with the bush, opening up the top where her blooms lay. Without even seeing who or what it was, probably some little kid out exploring away from it’s parents, she decided. With an annoyed grunt, the Roselia shot a flurry of poison stings from her upturned roses, right into the human’s face.

The poison strings caught him in the hand, burning almost immediately as he stumbled back, away from the bush. The yelp was audible, and his hands stung badly. Before the burning got too bad, he quickly removed the barbs, eyes squeezing shut. Why did it hurt so bad? Poison - that was it.
Zaffre, lacking any way to heal his injured trainer, opted to go a bit more on the offensive. What she thought was confirmed as he jerked back and scrambled at the barbs sticking out of his hand. Distracted, she definitely didn’t notice the torchic coming at her until it was much too late.
She was hit square in the face by the scratch. She let out a startled cry and popped out of the bush, stumbling onto the grass in a blind fury. It hurt! The Roselia snarled and sent another Poison Sing right at the Torchic.
