Why was he - why was he doing that? It was almost posing - almost showing off. Richard was no stranger to showing off, sure, but it wasn't showing off like this - it was showing off muscles or pure strength, not... well, how he looked. Not tattoo's that were fairly distracting. Not tattoo's that Richard wanted to read. Did that make him gay? He just wanted to see how they looked - tattoos could be interesting. He'd thought about getting one of his own, after all.
Then the wink - Richard's hair was standing on end he was so damn nervous. Was this what it was like? Was the guy coming onto him? The blush grew, and he became even more unsure. "I... I don't know. What - what am I supposed to be doing?" Was there some slang he was missing? Some idea that he'd missed? The guy certainly seemed to know what to do - better to let him lead, and simply follow along.

Everything about the guy sitting next to him radiated nervousness, from the way he took his drink to the way he fidgeted in his seat. On top of all that, the pink on his cheeks were definitely a blush. Gabriel, cruel as he was at times, almost laughed but kept it to himself. What exactly was up with this guy, anyway? Was he just nervous about being in a bar? He was almost entirely convinced that he wasn’t out to get him now. To his question, Gabriel responded with a small shrug. ”I dunno, you tell me. You here to pick up girls or just have a drink?” He slid his glass back across the wooden top of the bar and takes another, same thing, quietly observing the blushing man sitting next to him and wondering if this was a mistake. He couldn’t possibly be drunk yet. Gabriel slid a little closer, patting Johnny’s knee in a half-flirtious manner. ”Are you blushing? I didn’t even do anything.”

Pick up girls? What? For a moment, Richard simply stared. Was that some sort of slang? Girls? Had he made some terrible, horrible mistake? The panic probably showed on his face as he tried to work out what in the hell he was supposed to do. How was he going to explain this away? How was he going to make it so Gabe didn't notice his original intentions? There didn't seem to be a way to get away with it. He had to know that Richard had screwed up and picked the wrong bar, didn't' he?
The appearance of a hand on his leg, however, only confused things further. Richard's mind blanked as he mumbled out a few uncoordinated things that might have been words. "I don't... I mean... I'm not sure." That explained enough, right?

The panic that was growing evident on the man’s face made him uneasy. It’s either he turned right the hell around now and just walked away, or kept pushing it to see what happened. Curiousity killed the cat… His mumbling definitely didn’t help Gabriel’s thought process either, a string of barely coherent words that sort of sounded like he was denying something. What, so he wasn’t looking for a girl to bring home? Was he looking for another man to bring home? Oh, well then, that might’ve explained it. Gabriel honestly had no idea up until now, but once it clicked, everything seemed to ring loud and clear. Oh. Well, that made it all the better. It could have been said that his next move was incredibly cruel, but this man was a newcomer and Gabriel had never been above heckling the hell out of those types. The shorter blond chuckled, moving his hand up just a fraction. ”Not looking for girls? Not too many of those in the main city.” In his head, he swore he was going to hyperventilate, he was laughing so hard.

Not too many? Was he in the wrong place? The mortification only increased as he let it all sink in. He was. He was in the wrong place and now he had some guys hand on his leg, slowly sliding up, and it wasn't even the right place. Mortified didn't begin to describe it. No, no amount of 'mortification' was going to explain his sheer horror. "I..." Words simply weren't coming to him. How was he supposed to explain what he'd done?
"N-no!" He blurted out, suddenly unsure. "I... I fuckin' like girls. Absolutely. Just... fuckin' friend of mine likes dudes, and I wasn't sure if I did, so I needed to check, and thought this was one of those bars." And now he had a guy's hand on his leg, and it was freaking him out, and at the same time he didn't want to upset someone by shoving their hand away.

As of late, Gabriel rarely had a laugh at some other poor soul’s expense. This time around may have been the exception though; it was his first few hours back into the main city for who knew how long, and a very awkward guy was sort of making a very awkward pass on him. He seemed barely aware that he was doing it too, blushing like a schoolgirl and stuttering as if he’d never been taught to speak in the first place. Gabriel didn’t move his hand, even though Johnny was clearly extremely uncomfortable about the whole ordeal. He only chuckled at the man’s poor excuse of an ‘explanation’, if he could get past the shake in his voice. How did a person get like that, anyway? ”Really? You don’t seem so sure, and you’re still as red as my hood.” He didn’t quite believe the guy, anyway.

Oh god. What the hell was he doing? "It was just... It was just a freakin' mistake! I thought this was someplace else, and it wasn't, so I can go now and everything will be fine." How could he have been so stupid, to mix it up? How could he have been so stupid, to think that this was at all a good idea? No, it was stupid as hell, and he should have realized that ages ago. He should have never tried something so stupid. No, far better he'd stayed back at the little apartment epispect had given him, the one room that was still a thousand times better then the places he'd spent all his life. Even when Epispect was treating him like trash, he still came out ahead of where he'd been - even if it was at the expense at everyone he'd ever cared for.
"I mean... I should just be going." Going was absolutely preferable to staying, to owning up to his pathetic mistake. If he left now, he could pretend it never happened.
