Lydian laughed darkly, a coldly sickening sound that he liked to imagine haunted small children in their beds in the dead of night, at the sight of the boy jumping away from him. "Why should I?" he asked in a voice that was deadly calm, the tone akin to crushed velvet in its complexities and suave danger. "You're the one who wanted to inspect me, after all." Mordred cawed loudly in pain as electricity was routed through his slender, hollow bones, the attack scorching flesh that already hurt from the sharp claws he was pinned under. Still, Ragnarok's assistance had done it's task in saving his feathered tail, so he would live to fight longer. Ragnarok, however, stubbornly clung to the Absol's legs, snarling and growling up a storm as he tried to direct attention away from Mordred and onto him instead. He was the immediate threat, not the bird who had gone limp in his grasp, still twitching every now and again as he tried to recover from the volts that had been send through his flesh. He fell down awkwardly onto his paws when the Absol jumped off him, his own shoulders twitching in result of the attack that had shot through him. Immediately, upon being freed, Ragnarok flipped up and darted over to Lydian's shoulder to nurse his wounds. He'd help Ragnarok if he needed it, but if not, he'd rather stay with Lydian and lick his wounds in peace until there was easier prey to take down. Ragnarok fell to the ground at the sight of the strange multi-colored ball, completely fascinated by it. Mordred saw it, but by that point, he was close enough to Lydian for safety and managed to land on his Trainer's shoulder without further incident. He was entirely unaware of the attack that was building around the Absol, too absorbed in the orb, but that didn't mean everyone was. Lydian let out a low snarl as he caught sight of the crackling electricity out of the corner of his side, his hand automatically coming up and firing off a Flamethrower at the Absol. "Sorry, but no cheap shots here," he hissed lowly, his anger boiling over. OOC: ... Likely failing while trying not to kill my mons right off. DX Team-

"And if you were legal in the first place, you wouldn't be so scared of getting inspected, now would you?" he sneered right back, crossing arms over his chest as he gave a sideways glance at the darkhaired gijinka. With a satisfied grin as he saw the confuse ray work its magic, the guy snarled when he saw the flamethrower, and immediately turned to Athena. "Water gun!" came the command, the Lapras quickly complying as she once again vaporized the fire with her attack.
But the distraction had proven to loosen the Absol's grip, although Vegas wasn't to happy as he turned and snarled at Lydian. "Cheap shot! You're the one who set two Pokemon after my one, and then tried to attack me yourself. Whose the cheating one here!" Vegas retorted hotly, his temper something everyone in Epispect knew of as the guy snarled at Lydian, his own hands crakcling with his own gijinka energy. "You and your high and mighty ways when you're nothing but a filthy illegal, and relying on your Pokemon for battle, when you're supposed to be the one strategizing. Who do you think you are!" Vegas finished, the dark energy ball building in his hands flung forward in his ful anger.
The shadow ball attack was probably one of the fair few attacks Vegas could call useful in his arsenal. But attack and anger or not, Vegas was a pretty darned good trainer, and he knew he still had a battle on hand. "Athriel, x-scissor, Athena, water gun. If they're going to be so useless as to leave their own teammate alone and defenseless on a battlefield then so be it. We'll teach them whats it like to work as a team. Finish up this stupid excuse of a Pokemon!" Vegas commanded hotly, enraged that not only could the stupid excuse of a trainer act so rashly and selfishly, but his own Murkrow had abandoned the poor and confused Poochyena when they were supposed to be working as a team!

"You say that as if I had any choice!" he roared, his lip curling up to show his teeth in the same manner a wild dog would when confronted with a problem. "Well guess what, brat, I didn't choose this path! Wrap that around your arrogant little head! So you almost died of some horrible disease, so what? I've suffered just as much as you have just because of my parents' damned ambition!" The fire was climbing higher now, up over his arms and onto his shoulders and chest, licking the skin and burning away the fabric keeping it from that expanse of bare flesh it caressed as closely as a lover would. He was angry now, so angry, and there was little he could do to stop that. This brat had no right to tell him off, no right! "I didn't send them! Mordred was doing what he thought was best to keep my family together! He's the battle tactician, not me!" His eyes blazed brighter, twin pools of blood lit by hellfire. "I can take a lot of insults, as can my Pokemon, but no one insults my sister!" He let the Shadow ball hit him in the chest, the attack ineffectual due to his own Gijinka nature, and instead roared loudly as he set large walls of flame outwards in a minature psuedo-explosion; he had unleashed one of his strongest attacks, Inferno. Mordred let out a loud, piercing caw, flying after the attack with claws outstretched. How dare this human insult his Trainer! He thought nothing of going after him with a good strong Peck attack, fury in his gaze. How dare he how dare he how dare he! Ragnarok, on the other hand, was stumbling about obliviously, unaware of any of the danger he was in - not the X-Scissor, not the Water Gun, not even the roaring Inferno somewhere beside him. Suddenly, however, he tripped over his own paws and fell over, conking his nose on the ground and came back to himself. With a loud yelp of alarm at the attacks coming for him, he gathered himself up and ran forward as fast as he could, feeling the attacks hit just behind his tail and even cutting off a few strands of fur with the Absol's, as he ran forward, making sure to go for the Lapras when, without warning, he changed direction and threw himself at the Absol with a Tackle attack. OOC: Wow, this is long. Apparently Ciel = Lots of Lydi muse. And yeah. Don't insult Lydi's sister. He gets pissed about that. And is it failure that I had to go look up how exactly he became a Gijinka again? Team-

Vegas snarled right back, not even phased by the fire that was licking up. Sure, not that Vegas could do much if anything landed on him, such was the woe of being an Eevee gijinka with nothing much to his name, but the least Vegas had was pride. Sure, he's suffered, had no parents, and probably was ridicules by everyone in Epispect, but unlike this poor excuse for a gijinka, Vegas wanted o make life worth it. He would not wallow in his own self pity and let his Pokemon work for him. He worked with his Pokemon, and he worked to get better so he could make them proud. "So you just leave everything to them? Do you not think to help them? Or do you make them your little slaves?" Vegas sneered.
"My Pokemon work with me, not for me. They trust me because they know whatever I ask them to do, I would do the same if left with no choice. You? You just leave your Pokemon out to die there, while you wallow in your own self pity." Vegas snarled, and flinched when the inferno came. Luckily for him though, his Lapras came to his aid, with an ice shard right around him to fend off the heat of the Inferno, and then a water gun to vaporize the fire once again.
When the Murkrow came flying, another one of his Pokeballs flashed, and his VUlpix came flying out in a fury, landing on the Murkrow and nipping at the bird's feathers and neck in her attempt to fend off his attacks. Athriel too, was a fast thinker, and with his eyes watching the Poochyena, he quickly did a feint attack when the Poochyena was aiming for the Lapras, and then landed on the Poochyena when he suddenly changed direction at where he was previsouly standing.
But Vegas had had just about enough with this person. With a hand on his VUlpix, he picked the little wriggling fire fox off the Murkrow, and scowled at Lydian. "My pokemon protect me because they love me, and I do the same to them. If you could leave your Poochyena out there stranded and alone facing two Pokemon, and you don't even make a move to help him because you're too caught up in yourself... then I wonder what will happen next time when they need you the most." the guy murmured, his brown eyes piercing. Recalling both his Lapras and Vulpix in to their Pokeballs, Athriel automatically moved up to Vegas's side, and the brunette got on the large white beasts's back, before both dissapeared away. Vegas's had just enough of this ridiculous man, and illegal or not, he couldn't be bothered to deal with him any longer.

"Get off your own pedestal!" Lydian roared, eyes flashing. "You're no better than me and you know it!" He wanted to spring forward, to rip and tear and rend flesh from bone. It was the instinct of the Houndoom inside him, the want to avenge his wounds and to cause equal pain for them. Lydian's own feelings added fuel to the fire too, his anger boiling and bubbling inside him until all other feelings were gone. "And for your information, Mordred likes being in control. He's the one with the calm head, not me." A dark smirk took over his features. "Me, I would like nothing more than to burn you in the way of my kind so that you will forever feel my flames searing at your skin. Did you know that a Houndoom's fire has a certain toxin in it that allows the pain of their burn to never go away? Well, they do, and guess what? Unluckily for you, my fire works just the same. You will always feel my wrath upon you. Always." Mordred let out a high caw of pain, all of his momentum spent when the Vulpix landed on him. Fluttering about anxiously, he tried to throw the little fox off, twisting about to try to protect himself, but all in vain. He didn't realize how close he was to the ground until he hit it with a good thud, skidding a good ways and grinding dirt into his pretty feathers. If he had been able to, he would have been bitching up a storm about it. His feathers took forever to make clean, dammit, and grinding in dirt was not something he enjoyed having to pick out grain by grain! However, he wasn't able to do that. The collision with the ground had hurt him so much, and he had already been very weak. So, combined with the sudden impact of the Vulpix, and then the hard meeting with the earth, he was down. His eyes slipped shut as he fell unconscious, already knowing that the rest of his team was doomed and merely hoping that Lydian would be able to remain free. He rather enjoyed being with the Houndoom Gijinka. It was one of the few times in his life where he was actually treated well and he wouldn't give it up for anything. Ragnarok let out a howl when suddenly he had an Absol on top of him crushing him to the ground. He squirmed weakly before the weight shoved him down hard, crashing his head into a rock and knocking him unconscious. His day was over. Lydian glared right back, his eyes raging. "My Pokemon love me just as much as yours do you. I would be alone without them. And it is not my fault that Ragnarok ended up that way. Unlike you, my Pokemon are few in number." He snarled angrily when the boy just ran away, shooting one last ball of flame at him before he realized there was something missing. Where was that familiar nip on his ear? He wheeled about, crimson gaze frantically searching for his Pokemon when he found the two of them lying there. "No!" he yelled, running to them. "This... this is all my fault. You guys didn't want to fight... but you did it anyway. For me." Even the gentle flat of a sword pressed against his arm did not make him feel better. Just because Lancelot, the kindest of his Pokemon, accepted him did not mean that he was right. His eyes hidden from the world by a curtain of black bangs, he let his Pokemon back into their Pokeballs to recover before he turned to walk away, Lancelot scrambling after him. He'd need some time to think about this path he was walking... and if it would not be better for him to do it alone. OOC: ... The end of thread. Almost all my Pokemon fainted and no levels awarded to the one who needed it most. Oh well, at least it's a nice opening for Lydi to meet Erik on! Team-
