Kei hissed between his teeth as he glanced back at the people chasing them, not stopping in his tracks. His Bagon and his Darumaka were both beside him at his sides, keeping up with his speed as they were trying to get rid of their chasers. Normally, Kei would just kick the asses of three random guys who were after him, but right now, he didn’t really have means to fight against them. Not with him, and his two pokemon carrying three eggs, one each.
Kei knew that carrying around three egg in the slums was a bad idea, but he never expected random people to actually try and snatch them away from him. Then again, people would snatch his pants away, if they had the chance...
He looked down at the Ralts egg he was cradling in his arm, making sure it didn’t have any cracks, or the likes. On his right, Maka was carefully holding the little Eevee’s egg, while on his other side, Hiyu was hugging the Sneasel egg to her chest. Everyone and everything seemed to be doing okay, except the people chasing them. Kei had already run back into the city, but these guys just didn’t seem to give up.
Not wanting to cause a commotion on the streets at this late in the afternoon, Kei turned to the right sharply, after calling out to his pokemon. "Hiyu, Maka, we are going into the park!" The pokemon were quick to follow, and they were soon running among the trees and bushes of the only beautiful place in this rotten place. Kei settled behind a big tree, his two pokemon at the bush next to him. He knew they were still followed, but now, at least, he can actually fight against them, if needed. He hated the idea, though, since these guys were only human, and it really hurt his pride to use his abilities against people who didn’t possess any gijinka DNA. He will just knock them out and get away before they wake up.
He glanced at his pokemon, silently asking if they were okay. Hiyu just nodded silently, Maka made a face as if saying "of course I am okay, what did you expect?", and held her head up. Kei smirked, and scanned for unfamiliar aura around the place. He was at a bit darker side of the park, where he could hide easier, but it was still not that hard to spot them in this place. He felt that the three humans were getting near, but aside them, he felt another presence, not sure if another human, or actually a gijinka, approaching.
He glanced toward the steadily darkening sky. The sun would set soon too, he knew it, so there really was no reason for any other person to roam around the park, unless they were doing something shady. Then again, there was a lot of shady people around here. Kei gently placed the egg he was holding beside him, Hiyu shifted closer to keep an eye on that egg too. Kei was about ready to draw his blade in case whoever was approaching would attack them too.

Fine, Vegas will show them that he was and still is perfectly capable of working on his own. Having overheard one of his managers mentioning about the illegals in the slums getting out of hand again, Vegas finally decided to go and check it out himself. Perhaps, if he did a good job, his superiors would let him work himself? Anything would be better then going through the company of the insufferable Kagura Ren and his high and mighty ways! Vegas had had quite enough of him, even after only a day or two of partnership. Today had been one of his off days, and Vegas was quite happy not having to see his sharp nose for a day or two.
But he would make use of the day. Yes, he will. He will show his superiors then he was fine working as an Epispect hunter alone, that he didn't need anyone to watch his back. So when he overheard his managers conversation, Vegas had slipped out, grabbed his pokemon before heading towards the slums, determined to prove himself. Reaching there however, the eevee gijinka shuddered at his surroundings, whilst his hand went to clasp at the pokeballs at his waist, trying to decide if his Vulpix or Absol would prove better in this enviroment. While Athriel was stronger, the Absol was also larger in size. Finally settling on his Vulpix, Hemera appeared in a flash of red light, and Vegas smiled at his tiny foxes presence. "Stay near me Hemera, and be careful." Vegas instructed, the Vulpix giving a solemn nod, before both trainer and Pokemon pressed on.
His steps were silent, but the next second had him stumbling and hiding against a large tree as a guy ran pass him, hissing as he ducked behind a big tree, whilst his pursuers having missed his action, ran past him. Vegas couldn't help but frown as his senses tingled, the way it always did when gijinka were nearby. It was as if the normal type gijinka was highly intuitive to similar types near him... and the guy who had ran past was definitely a gijinka, and probably an illegal one at that, given where he stayed. Perfect. The one chance Vegas needed to prove that he was capable of working himself.
Moving forward once the pursuers ran out of sight, the guy tensed, Hemera ready and focused at his heels whilst he drew nearer towards where he had saw the pursued duck behind, intent on just using anyone he could get his hands on as proof that the guy was good enough to work on his own.

He was already at the edge of his patience with the amount of people that were chasing him around the slums. One or two would be okay, but a whole group was just ridiculous, and there were only that many he could handle single-handedly. And worst of all, they were human for whom he needed to hold back all the time. At least against a gijinka he wouldn’t have to worry too much about the seriousness of the injuries.
The raven haired boy side-glanced at Hiyu and Maka who were near him, and were carefully holding the eggs – Maka one, and Hiyu two, now that Kei was preparing to attack whatever it was that approached them slowly. His aura sensing ability could more or less pick up it’s presence, and he was entirely sure it wasn’t a human. He was at least sure it wasn’t any of the three that previously chased him, but aside that, he knew nothing. He didn’t want to risk a disadvantageous fight though, so his best shot was to do the preemptive attack and see what he was up against. He was worried enough about the eggs already, ad those wouldn’t really hold out in a fight either, not to mention it could get troublesome if they hatched during a battle.
He was crouching, ready to jump out any moment. His right hand formed a fist, then relaxed and he bent his fingers in a form to mimic claws, readying for the attack. He waited until he was sure the opponent was close enough for a strike before he jumped and clawed at whoever was there with a Metal Claw attack. It wasn’t his most effective of attacks, but it was something that was barely resisted by anything, or at least he didn’t know about a gijinka that would be immune to it. If he was lucky, he would even slow the opponent down, to get a chance at running, if it turns out disadvantageous.
He didn’t expect a more or less normal looking guy to be the feared opponent, and he started to wonder if his aura sensing ability is defected and the person in front of him was actually a human... aired with a pokemon to boost. He was ready to jump back from a possible counter, but he decided against fleeing for now, to see what would happen.

Oh as a Pokemon, the Eevee was of course highly sought after everywhere. But if anything, it was probably mostly because of Eevee's ability to evolve in to seven different type of evolutions, depending on the conditions surrounding the Pokemon. But as a DNA gijinka? The Eevee hybrid proved quite useless. Perhaps it was also partly due to the fact that Vegas had only been ten when he had received his transfusion, but either way, while Vegas was quite capable of protecting himself from humans, fighting against gijinka's was an entirely different matter.
The Metal claw caugh Vegas by surprise, and the brunette flinched instinctively, stumbling backwards at the sudden attack whilst Hemera squealed her outrage at the attack on her master. Despite Vegas moving backwards though, he still managed to catch the tail end of the attack, and long bloody gashes appeared from his cheek all the way down to his chin as he quickly recovered. Using the back of his hand to swipe away the blood, Vegas scowled as he glared at the assailant, his Vulpix's six tails lashing whilst her fierce fiery eyes eyed the blue-haired male warily.
"Obviously, you have something to hide. Maybe Epispect would be happy with you afterall." Vegas smirked, the simple words serving as his only warning before the guy launched in to a sand attack. Using his heels, Vegas digged in to the dirt to kick up a faceful of sand in to the mysterious slum dweller he had stumbled across. "Now Hemera, ember!" Vegas instructed at the next second, hoping his sand attack had done enough to lower the other's defenses so that his Vulpix's attack could find its mark.

If he was a human, Kei screwed up big time, Metal Claw was probably an overkill against whoever that didn’t have any DNA to back them up. But despite the person’s normal appearance, his aura whispered that he was a gijinka, and when he didn’t seem too fazed by the attack, Kei considered it to be a proof.
Kei didn’t reply to what the other was saying, but he growled deeply at the mention of Epispect. Great, he thought, just what I needed today. He was debating whether to go to Akira’s place or not before, but if he had an Epispect hunter on his neck, there was no way he would run to the escapee’s apartment. He had to loose this guy and head back to the slums to hide.
Kei wasn’t fast enough to avoid the sand attack, and he closed his eyes with a sharp wince. Blinding him wasn’t actually all that advantageous on the long term, not only because he was a Lucario and used to using aura to sense the whereabouts of his opponents, but also because he was used to the idea of being blind. But despite that, the attack left him vulnerable to what was coming, and just by hearing the attack itself, Kei knew it would be a bad choice to make it hit.
Luckily enough he wasn’t alone either. Maka quickly rolled the egg she was holding to the Bagon and jumped in front of the Ember attack targeting her owner. As a fire type, though it did damage her, if wasn’t all that effective, so she was okay even after the flames were crisping her fur. "Maka!" Kei breathed out as he managed to open one eye and look at the little fire type. The Darumaka wiggled her finger in disapproval at the Vulpix and the Epispect gijinka, greatly shunning them for grouping up against another one. But she was there too, and wouldn’t let Kei fight alone. The raven haired boy smirked, and stuck his hand out toward his side, a shining blue orb appearing in his palm as he readied an Aura Sphere. That was one of his most useful attack, but due to its rare nature, it usually gave him away more likely, but against this opponent, it didn’t matter anymore.
"Okay, Maka, here we go! Rollout!" Kei ordered, and the Darumaka jumped in, kicking at the ground in a similar manner the gijinka did before, causing not sand, but rocks to be hurled at the Vulpix in front. Maka awaited the results with a smirk, while the Bagon was protectively leaning above the eggs in the background. Kei also released the Aura Sphere at the other gijinka, hoping it would connect, and rushed forward to continue the fight up close. He was relying more on his aura sensing ability than his eyesight, since the sand was disturbing his eyes quite much.

Born frail and weak, and even after he joined Epispect, the stupid people still insisted he had to work with a partner. What, was being a Gijinka not enough? I mean, yeah, sure he knew he was an Eevee gijinka only, not enough to compare with the other, more powerful gijinka's within the company, but still... surely he would wield more power over his human partner right? All the belittlements and teases on his gijinka DNA were getting to Vegas though, and these days he was getting more and more impulsive, prone to running headlong in to danger more often.
Like now, when he didn't give asecond thought to attacking the guy, never mind that he was probably a gijinka of a higher level, looking at how fast he ran. The blood slowly trickled down the chin, a slow but sure flow, but Vegas barely noticed the thick, viscuous liquid as his sable eyes focused on the male. Hemera on the other hand, was glaring at the Darumaka with disdain. Was the silly little thing scolding her? Why the round fireball, he would pay.
Nimbly leaping, the Vulpix stumbled a little as the rollout hit her, and fell receiving some damage as she hit her side on the dustry ground, before quickly gaining her feet. Opening her maw, the female Vulpix quickly aimed for another ember attack at the Darumaka, whilst Vegas's eyes widened when he recognized the distinctive attack. A Lucario gijinka? Vegas's first thought was that he was screwed, there was no way he was capable of taking out a Lucario gijinka on his own. But he was stubborn as well, and the brunette guy quickly shoved that thought out of his head, as he braced himself. Dodging to one side, Vegas wince as he felt himself scrape his elbows in his effort to dodge the Aura Sphere. From the ground, he pulled both palms together, collecting energy before letting loose a shadow ball attack at the Lucario gijinka, gritting his teeth in hopes it makes contact.

Kei and her were a good team back in the Electric Plant, so she knew they could at least fight side to side. Maka wasn’t afraid of the Vulpix’s Ember attack, she rushed into it head on, ducking just a bit so the attack got her shoulder, but as a fire type, she wasn’t that vulnerable to it, unlike Kei, so it was still better if she got the majority of the fire type offense.
Maka was ready to give a taste of her own fire attacks, if Kei’s voice didn’t stop her. "Maka, don’t use fire moves!" The Darumaka grunted, but obliged. Kei knew that some of the fire types could be problematic against the same type, but since they didn’t know what ability the Vulpix exactly had, they had to be careful about powering it up. As Maka rushed in, she evaded to the side and attacked with another Rollout, mercilessly bombarding the Vulpix with rocks.
Before anything else, Kei wanted to figure out the type of gijinka he was fighting with. Some basic slums-experience told him he had to study his opponent before he rushed in, so he decided to stick to power-up and evasion before going with another attack. When he rushed against the gijinka, he jumped up and above him to hit the ground behind the other, but the Shadow Ball still got his side. Wincing slightly, he knew the attack wasn’t effective on him, but playing along didn’t hurt. Well, it did, but not in the non-literal way. He didn’t attack, but started circling around the gijinka in a silent Swords Dance, if the other cared to notice. The gijinka didn’t stuck him as a ghost type, but the fact he used such a move meant he was compatible, which left him with only that much to go about. But as for what exactly the other was, he had no idea.
Back at the bush, Hiyu frowned at the three eggs as cracks showed they were about to hatch too. It was problematic to care for them in the middle of the fight, and she knew Kei wouldn’t be able to pay much attention to them until the fight was over. She quietly called out to her owner, and though Kei heard, he didn’t show any sign of noticing it. Talk about bad timing... He had to trust Hiyu of taking care of it for now, he will pass on three pokeballs to secure the babies as soon as they hatch.

The little fox knew her ability, and was completely ready for the increase in power that the fire attack should do when it hit. BUt then with irritation, she noted the round fireball's trainer instructing it otherwise, and scowled. Her distraction, despite being only momentary however, was enough for the Darumaka to land a hit, and Hemera called out loudly as the rocks hit her, and she was flung to the side by the force.
"Hemera!" Vegas called out in a panic, as the attack hit his little Vulpix head on. But he didn't have time on hand to tend to the fox, as the trainer himself had another different set of problems to face. A lucario was no easy task to take. Half of his attacks probably wasn't going to work on him at all! Warily watching as the guy winced, somehow Vegas doubted his shadow ball did much damage, but nontheless watched carefully as the other gijinka circled him, all whilst his brain tried to figure out what was he going to do. Vegas's movements mirrored Kei's, but the brunette finally figured they couldn't just end up in a mexican standoff for the whole night.
So in a fit of impatience, Vegas kicked up his heels and raised his palms skywards as his body glowed blue in his focus energy. Once the energy has been collected, the gijinka quickly started running head on towards the other in a quick attack, its increased energy from focus energy making the glow around Vegas a light blue instead of the normal white.
Over at Hemera's side however, the stubborn little fox still refused to give up, and she quickly cralwd to her feet when Vegas had called out to her. Shaking her head vigorously to get rid of the debris and dust that had stuck to her pelt when she was hit by the rollout, the Vulpix turned with a snarl to the Darumaka. Losing no time, Hemera quickly opened her maw as the fire built, and a vortex of flames burst forth as the Vulpix unleashed her newly learned flamethrower attack at the Darumaka.

He was not good at interacting with others and engaging in conversations, but if anything, he considered fights to be his forte. To a certain extent. Adrenaline rushed through him, but it didn’t make him hasty or reckless. Normally, he would try to avoid hits to keep his strength for the rest of the fight, but he knew he had to make sacrifices too.
The other gijinka rushed at him suddenly, and he feinted surprise when his Quick Attack hit. It hurt more than it usually did for him, probably because the other one was pumped up and the attack was a clear hit too. But he didn’t hesitated while the gijinka was still near him. He tried to grab his hand with his left and locking his elbow in an arm-lock to prevent the other from getting away. Even if he didn’t manage that, he would raise his other hand and aim a Force Palm to the opponent’s chest. He didn’t attack further, but if he still had his hold on the gijinka, he would not let him get away.
"Did you sneak up on me with the intention of an attack?" Kei asked, knowing he was the one who attacked first, but he felt threatened, not to mention he had three eggs to protect from three slums trash here. Of course he would be somewhat on edge because of it. "I could get that you are from Epispect. Are you a hunter?" The other gijinka mentioned them before, so it wasn’t that hard to figure it out. But truth to be told, Kei didn’t expect to meet one here. But attacking so willingly in the park... as far as he knew, Epispect only attacked the illegal gijinka, and this person couldn’t know right from the start that he didn’t have the DNA license. "Shouldn’t you check if someone is legal or illegal before you attack a gijinka?"
On the other end, Maka was pissed. She knew Kei told her not to use fire attacks, but she was still a fire type, and attacking without her strongest weapons were ticking her off. So when she saw the Vulpix use the Flamethrower, she instinctively did the same. Flamethrowering the attack seemed to neutralized the attack coming at her, so they would be at a square one again. Using the smoke that the fire gave as a cover, Maka gathered up some rocks from the ground and swiftly climbed a nearby tree’s low branch to get ready for another attack as soon as she could see the Vulpix.
Near the bushes, Hiyu was trying to keep calm as the eggs hatched, and three baby could be seen under the shells. The Ralts was the first to come out and looking around confused, though sitting in one place at least, trying to take in her surroundings. Next one was the Sneasel, clawing away the rest of the shells from himself to get free. Hiyu was worried that one would rush out into the fight, but he didn’t seem to be able to coordinate himself much yet. Last one was a little fluffy Eevee, who peeked out and was trying desperately to get rid of the rest of the egg. Hiyu glanced back at her trainer. Kei still didn’t give pokeballs to secure the babies, and she was worried, but she would try to keep them safe and out of the fight until Kei could pay attention tot them.
tags ★ Kit~ <3 notes ★ In the next post, I might make the Eevee run around and cause some trouble just to make things ironic. xD
