Hiyu grunted beside him, the Bagon eager for a fight and getting stronger. Kei smiled. They were ready to train in the area, as Kei now had a set goal in front of him to reach. Defeating the Castle Guardians would be something he would prove his experience with, mostly for himself, so he would think himself to be worth something he isn’t yet sure should claim as his’.
Looking down at Hiyu, he could see she was ready to jump at anything coming at their way, even if it would be rather disadvantageous due to the dragon type’s low level. But that was the reason they were here. To get stronger and to train, so none of them had to worry about being low leveled – they will work on it a bit and reaching the top of the Castle wouldn’t be out of their reach.
Kei knew who would be the last one they had to fight, if they ever got past the first five Guardians – his cousin. Kei knew how strong he was and knew him well. Defeating him will be his goal, and by doing that, he will prove he is strong enough to protect someone important...
Hiyu stopped and sniffed into the air. Kei knew what she was doing. She felt something approaching, and Kei was the same. Something was around them. "Hiyu, get ready! We will get you stronger in no time." The Bagon grunted in response as they continued on the range, ready for anything that would jump them.

WILD MACHOP APPEARED! [/style] Machop || Female || Guts || Fighting || Level 5 Low Kick || Leer Nearby, a fighting-type froze in her tracks, watching with cautious eyes as the Bagon she’d been following sniffed at the air - surely a sign that the dragon was catching on to her presence. With a huff, the Machop rolled her eyes, wondering why she even bothered trying to be stealthy. Her species weren’t exactly known for being subtle, but she thought that if she could catch the other Pokémon she might have an advantage in the inevitable brawl. It had been a good plan, but the wind was proving to be just as much her enemy as her potential opponent, carrying her scent straight to her target and blowing her cover.
Huffing, the Machop tensed, working up the guts to charge the other now that they were surely on high alert. After all, this fight was going to happen whether or not she had a tactical advantage, and now that her stalking was rendered useless she had better jump right in before the Bagon decided to attack first. First to strike, first to win. Wasn’t that how the saying went? All she had to do was take that initiative!
With a spirited battle cry, the gray-skinned creature leapt out from her hiding place - really, crouching behind a rock wasn’t the epitome of stealth, but she thought it had a shot at working - and dashed at her target, tossing up dirt and bits of rock in the wake of her frantic charge. Once she had closed the gap between them, she aimed a sweeping Low Kick at the dragon’s legs. Step one to beating a tough opponent: disrupt their balance! That was what her older Machop brothers had taught her, and that was exactly what she planned to do first.

Kei instantly jumped back from them not to hinder the pokemon in the fight and observing them from a small distance, as a trainer should. A Machop, huh? Could have been worse. Kei had a mixed feeling about the fighting type, but he knew that Hiyu at least wasn’t weak for most of the things such a pokemon could show. Still, fighting types had experience in combat, which his Bagon still lacked.
With the Low Kick sweeping her legs out from under her, Hiyu fell on the ground ungracefully. She was in a great disadvantage now, as a fallen opponent could only fight back with a maximum of 70% effectiveness in a physical fight. But before she could panic and brace herself for another incoming attack from the Machop, she could hear her trainer yelling an instruction over. "Don’t panic, Hiyu! Send a Flamethrower at it!" Rolling on her back from her side, the Bagon did as told and released a Flamethrower attack at the Machop. Even if the attack missed, it probably provided her with the time to stand up again and ready herself for the rest of the fight. Now she was on guard again, and the disadvantage would vanish with her standing on her feet.
Kei already started to form a strategy as he waited a few moments for the Machop to react and the fight to continue. He knew why trainers were crucial in a pokemon battle. Though the pokemon could pretty much fight on their own, it was still different seeing the fight from outside the ring, in a whole. He could see attacks coming from the pokemon’s blind spot, and give instructions accordingly. He already knew how to possibly conquer the Machop, and he will make sure to help Hiyu get stronger.

WILD MACHOP APPEARED! [/style] Machop || Female || Guts || Fighting || Level 5 Low Kick || Leer A satisfied glint lit in the Machop’s eyes as she successfully swiped the dragon-type off her feet, leaving her opponent momentarily defenseless on her back and wide-open to a follow-up attack. The fighting-type cracked a grin as she looked down at the prone Bagon, pleased that this battle was going to be a lot easier than she’d expected at first! And other Pokémon said that dragons were tough. Ha, yeah right!
The gray-skinned creature was about to flick another Low Kick at the helpless dragon - hey, sportsmanship got you nowhere in real fights! - when a voice distracted her. Curious to find its source, she made the mistake of hesitating to execute her attack and instead looked up, only to see the Bagon’s trainer nearby barking something to her in that strange language humans spoke. She could never understand the gibberish, given her secluded lifestyle, but her eyes went wide as she realized that the dark-haired young man was shouting out orders. The Machop growled out a short curse and tried to jump out of the way as her opponent rolled into a better attacking position, but it was too late; a sudden burst of billowing flames caught her across the shoulder, instantly charring the flesh it managed to touch.
The Machop bit her bottom lip, determined not to cry out in agony, but she couldn’t stop the pained hiss that escaped when she thought she finally had it under control. Damn, that had hurt! Wincing, she glanced down at the injured skin and immediately wished that she hadn’t. Her normally blue-gray skin was burnt black where the flames had licked her, while the hide around the main affected area was far redder than it should be, given its usual tint, and there was something - not blood, but something gross - oozing from the wound. She nearly threw up, and took another moment to mentally curse out the human. That was a cheap shot! If this were a straight mon-on-mon fight, she would’ve been able to take the Bagon down easily right then and there! But now he enemy was back on her feet, meaning the fighting-type's moment of opportunity was now long gone.
Miffed, the Machop narrowed her eyes to Leer at the little blue dragon before she snorted, made a show of shaking off her pain as if it really didn’t hurt despite the silent torment she was enduring and dashed toward her opponent, once more relying on her Low Kick to destabilize the other creature. It wasn’t as likely to catch her off guard this time, but it was the only offensive move she’d mastered so far, so what else was there to do but keep trying with it?

Yet again, if she didn’t have her trainer to back her up in this situation, she might have been in bigger trouble than she already felt herself to be in.
"Hiyu, jump, she can’t get you with a low attack like that!" Kei himself was a fighting type gijinka, so he knew well how to counter other fighting types. Low Kick, as its name suggested, was a low attack, and it could be avoided by jumping away or flying up. Hiyu though, however she wished to, wasn’t able to fly yet, but Kei knew she could at least jump high enough to dodge and then attack from above. "Aerial Ace, now!"
As Hiyu jumped up and managed to dodge the Low Kick, she was ready for an attack to retaliate. She didn’t have to wait much for the order, and while she was in mid air from her jump, she used Aerial Ace to target the Machop from above, hopefully gaining advantage from a high attack against the fighting type. If it didn’t work, she would probably got hit by whatever move the other pokemon used as soon as she landed, because she wouldn’t be able to dodge that effectively right then.

WILD MACHOP APPEARED! [/style] Machop || Female || Guts || Fighting || Level 5 Low Kick || Leer The Machop’s eyes widened almost comically in surprise as the Bagon jumped high into the air to completely avoid the Low Kick and causing the fighting-type to fall on her rear when she stumbled, distracted by her foe’s acrobatic feat but unable to stop her forward momentum. Geeze, what did the dragon think she was all of the sudden, a Blaziken? And what was she doing now that she was in the air....
Shit! The Machop mentally swore as she scrambled to her feet, frantically trying to scramble out of the Aerial Ace’s path, but it was already too late; the swift, slicing wind struck her on her retreating back with full force as she turned, the attack cutting a deep gash into her blue-gray hide. This time, she failed to stop the agonized scream that escaped her lips, but through sheer determination she managed to stay on her feet, refusing to fall flat on her face as her body wanted to despite the excruciating pain the super-effective attack left her in. Even so, she was keenly aware that she was inches away from losing this match and given that she had barely touched her opponent at all thus far (all thanks to the other’s Arceus-damned cheating human - what a ripoff!) it was doubtful that she could come back from behind and pull off a win; she had been confident at first, yes, but she had also been taught when to acknowledge her defeat.
That did not, however, mean that she was going to stand there and patiently wait for the final blow to come. She was just too damn hot-blooded and stubborn to accept her losses without one final struggle. Her battered body shook as she took a deep, rattling breath to steady herself before opening her mouth to bellow out a fierce battle cry, dashing toward the Bagon with one last Low Kick. The spirited shout helped to ease her pain slightly when her aching muscles and throbbing wounds screamed in protest at her stumbling charge, though it failed to keep black spots of impending unconsciousness from dancing across her vision. Not that she actually cared that taxing her body at this stage would only delay her after-battle recovers, for there was simply no way that her pride as a fighting-type was going to let her to go out with a whimper instead of a roar.
OOC: Damn that took forever. I’m sorry it’s such a short and crappy post.

Hiyu was happy her attack connected, but she wasn’t one to get overconfident from one success. She was ready for a follow-up attack, but seeing the Machop getting more injured with time, she couldn’t help but wince. Fights were like that, and she knew it. She had to get stronger to avoid those injuries and to protect her teammates – as one of the leading pokemon in Kei’s party.
She was ready to continue the fight, but she wasn’t ready for the Machop’s enthusiasm and rush, so the Low Kick hit her and she stumbled back, her leg hurting from the hit at the worst spot. At least he was lucky not to fall to the ground this time too. "Hiyu, flamethrower! There isn’t much more, hang in there!" Kei could only calculate the damage from the injuries of the fighting type, as well as her last rush, as if it was the last resort of a cornered animal. The Bagon had to keep it up for only a little while for it to end, and then Kei would make her rest through the next fight and call out another of his pokemon. He was happy for that one ability he was able to get all of his pokemon to learn, so now that their regenerative ability was good, they could be out in the wild with more efficiency and less chance for losses.
Hiyu obeyed the order and jumped back to get a safe distance from the Machop. Unlike the attacks the fighting type showed, she was able to do long ranged attack with his fire move. Taking a deep breath and opening her mouth wide, she breathed out the second Flamethrower attack of the fight.

WILD MACHOP APPEARED! [/style] Machop || Female || Guts || Fighting || Level 5 Low Kick || Leer This time around, landing a good, clean hit gave the Machop very little satisfaction; a small, strained smile quirked at her tired lips as she stumbled back from her successful attack, but there was no cry of celebration or jumping for joy to accompany it. Even now, she was swaying on her stubby legs, trying and mostly failing to stay upright. Now that the adrenaline rush from her charge was gone, she was barely able to stand and had to focus all her remaining energy on remaining on her feet. Words she was too out of it to register as more than a jumble of syllables flew through the air, and in the weary blink of her heavy eyes the Bagon had gone from right in front of her to several feet back, confusing the fighting-type’s pain clouded mind with her sudden movement as she wobbled forward after it a little, only to trip and fall to one leg on the first step. The haze across her vision grew thicker, and she struggled to push herself up again, but a sudden muffled roaring sound caught her attention and made her look up at her opponent once more.
And she found herself staring straight into the blaze of an oncoming Flamethrower.
Despite her fatigue, the scream of pain that erupted from the Machop as she crossed her arms in front of her face and attempted to block off the oncoming wall of flames was at full volume and ferocity, an almost unearthly shriek of agony that echoed across the mountainside. In the heart of the blast her soot-streaked and crispy-skinned body fell to the ground limply, giving off puffs of foul-smelling smoke, the air reeking of burnt flesh. On the bright side? The burns now covering most of her body had stopped the bleeding from the Aerial Ace attack, but unfortunately, it came at a hefty cost. For a trained Pokémon such wounds could be tended to easily enough at a center, but for a wild creature like herself recovery from the extensive burns would likely be long, painful, and make it more difficult for her battle in the future. And that was if she survived the pain and massive amounts of smoke she had inhaled.
WILD MACHOP FAINTED! HIYU GAINED TWO LEVELS FOR WINNING! HIYU IS NOW LEVEL 7! (Er, I think, unless she leveled up in another thread...-modfail-)
[/center][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify] WILD SABLEYE APPEARED! [/style] IT IS SHINY!Sableye || Male || Keen Eye || Dark/Ghost || Level 6 Leer || Scratch || Foresight Normally ghost-types avoided vast open spaces like the Amplus Mountains, preferring to stick to the more unnerving locales such as the twisting tunnels under the city, places where humans and Pokémon alike died in droves and were filled to the brim with the gloomy atmosphere that attracted such spectres. However, for one half-ghost, half-dark and all strangely-colored little gremlin, there was something about the mountains that intrigued him. Nevermind that the food findings here were not always the greatest - even now, he was munching away on handfuls of small pieces of multicolored quartz, hardly the diamonds the more haughty members of his race prefered to feast upon - or that the sun was annoyingly bright as it streamed into his many-faceted gem eyes. There was just something about the fresh air that made him want to run wild, cut some things up, and then settle down to have a good laugh about it with a pal over a pile of jewels later.
Of course, that would be pretty impossible as he didn’t have any friends. Not that was anything new: the other dark-types thought he was creepy, ghost-types were wary of him, and anything else...well, he made enemies pretty quickly with his inability to draw the line between harmless play-fighting and serious attacking. It wasn’t his fault that he had both a ghost-type’s inclination toward mischief and a dark-type’s sadistic tendencies. He would start out a fight with harmless intentions, but the sight of blood splattered on his clawed fingers made him giddy and he would often lose himself in need to see more of it. Shaking his head, the Sableye suppressed a shudder of longing at the thought. There was nothing around today to harass, it seemed, so attacking something out of the blue was out of the question...or was it?
A scent, sharp and disgusting enough to nearly make him gag, caught the dual-type’s attention and he followed it with a shrug, deciding that he might as well see what was up, especially if it lead him to a battle. He did not have to travel very far to find the scene, just down the trail and around a few ill-placed stones. Curiously, he watched as a blue-skinned dragon - a Bagon, right? - felled a Machop with a mighty burst of flames...maybe he should let this particular battle opportunity pass him on by? But wait, the victor looked tired, perhaps enough that the raven-haired human with her would call another creature forth. It was only a chance, but why shouldn’t he take it when it looked like there was nothing else to do today? After all, it wasn’t like a ghost could actually die. He quickly shoved the last of his quartzes into his mouth before stepping forward out of the shadows, light glinting off both the stones lining his body and his odd, shiny skin. One clawed hand he raised in a sort of waving salute as a greeting because hey, even if he was here to pick a fight, he could at least acknowledge the trainer’s presence. He then proceeded to crouch down, grinning in anticipation as he waited to see whether the man was going to swap his dragon out for something else or not.
OOC: Again, sorry for the late.
