The sight of the Makuhita being surrounded by his flames, but it was only made better when the oversized Pokémon fell to his knees. Things just got more pleasing for Vulcan as the fighting Pokémon collapsed from his injuries, which meant that he had overcome the battle that had shown him just how strong he had become since becoming Brian’s Pokémon. ”Magmar Mag Mag Magmar.” Should have focused on me and not the weakling. Obviously, this was meant for show as Brian couldn’t understand him, and his opponent was already in La La Land. With that being said, Vulcan chose to sit down on the ground to recover from the grueling battle.
Naturally, Brian had seen the end of the bout, so he stood up and walked past his Pokémon to where the Makuhita laid on the ground. Tossing the ball he had pulled out for this purpose, his target was the beaten Pokémon who would be his latest addition to the team that was being built, and the Makuhita would be quite useful in breaking through some walls that blocked his plans. Turning back to his Magmar, he figured that it was getting late enough that he should take his Pokémon back home so he could eat his lunch, and then he would head back out with some of his other Pokémon to train to get stronger.
With this plan in mind, he recalled Vulcan and looked for Dionysus, who wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Looking back at the moving ball, Brian had this annoyed look on his face as he couldn’t go find the lizard until it clicked for him. ”That Treecko had better not be goofy off, while Vulcan was working. If he was, then he will pay dearly for it,” he said with a hint of anger in his tone. This was understandable as he had better things to do with his time than to play ‘get the gecko’ with his Pokémon, but he didn’t have a choice in the matter since Dionysus was already gone from the hallway.
Meanwhile, Dionysus’s tail slammed into the door once more as he wanted to know what was inside of it, but it wouldn’t budge. Fortunately, he heard something that attracted his attention, and while he didn’t know what was said the Treecko had found the source. Eyeing the dozing Pokémon above his head, he aimed one arm at the creature before firing a red beam to Absorb some of the dozing Pokémon’s energy from her. He could really use the pick me up that came with this particular attack.

WILD MAKUHITA APPEARED! [/style] Makuhita || Male || Thick Fat || Fighting || Level 10 Tackle || Focus Energy || Sand-Attack || Arm Thrust || Vital ThrowThe Makuhita wasn't even aware of his body, perhaps a merciful thing as he was unable to protest the final words uttered by the Magmar before the Pokeball thrown in the air opened up, snatching him up inside it in a flash of bright light.
Twitch Twitch~ Twitch Twitch~ Twitch Twitch~ DING! The Pokeball shook violently, almost as if the Makuhita was putting up a fight from unconsciousness before it stilled and let out a ding signaling that the Fighting-type would be captured. Whether or not he would be listening to every command given to him would, of course, be up in the air, but for the moment, the fact that his freedom had come to an end was, without a doubt, true.
WILD MAKUHITA HAS BEEN CAUGHT!
WILD SLAKOTH APPEARED! [/style] Slakoth || Female || Truant || Normal || Level 9 Scratch || Yawn || EncoreThe Slakoth found her head cocking to the side as she stared at the Grass-type that was regarding her. She didn't particularly know what to make of the Pokemon that was so rudely interrupting her precious sleep, and she was staring at the other when she felt her claws start to slip where she was gripping the metal grating. She tried to close her fingers again, wanting to try to remain up where she was since it was always such a hassle for her to climb back up to her nest, but she was just a tick too late, her grip failing and sending her tumbling to the ground with a yelp as she hit. Grumbling softly to herself, she rolled off her back and back onto her belly, only then noticing that she had completely avoided the glowing balls of light that the other had shot where she had been clinging only a moment earlier. Slowly, she blinked her eyes, attempting to figure out why the other was attacking her when all of a sudden, she felt something tugging at her jaw, and she found her mouth opening wide, a small puff of air coming from her lips in a Yawn attack that accidentally came from her. She wasn't looking for a fight. Not really. She was just tired from her nap that had been so rudely interrupted by the other Pokemon. Huh... maybe trying to scratch some sense into the Grass-type would teach the other not to be so loud when others were trying to sleep... Of course, that was assuming that she had the awareness to care, which she wasn't so certain of. Eh, she'd just have to see how it went. If she taught the other Pokemon a lesson, good, if not, oh well, she'd just have to find her way back up to her nest and catch up on some more sleep.

Turning in the direction of the dinging noise, a smug smile appeared on Brian’s face as he realized that the inevitable happened, which was the Makuhita getting captured in his Poke ball. ”Well, that takes care of that. I suppose now I can go find out where that Treecko has wandered off to,” he commented as he walked over and retrieved his newly acquired Pokémon. Heading back the way that they had come from, the white haired youth began his search for Dionysus, and he hoped that it wouldn’t take him long as it was no short jog back to where he resided.
Meanwhile, things were not going the way that Dionysus had envisioned when he had spotted the furry Pokémon that had been watching him from above, and mainly the problem was that the Slakoth had dropped from the grate and dodged his attack. ”Treecko, Tree, Tree, Treecko.” That was some quick thinking. While he doubted that he was going to be forced to fight partially paralyzed again, the gecko figured that this was definitely going to be one of those tricky fights, which was something that he actually enjoyed as long as it didn’t involve birds of any kind.
Then the oddest thing happened. The furball fired off a small wave of air that swept by Dionysus in a moment, and he was suddenly feeling rather tired. Shaking his head in order to avoid dozing off, the Treecko rushed forward and swung his tail at the Slakoth’s head in order to Pound some sense into his opponent’s head, but if that didn’t work then Dionysus had a strange feeling that he was going to be taking a nap very soon. This was not a good thing to happen to anyone during the middle of a fight, so he did his best to keep his eyes open as they were steadily drooping.
At this point, a familiar presence could be felt in the area as Brian appeared at the end of the hallway. ”So this is where you have been hiding, and it seems that you have made an interesting friend. Good, we need one more to join us,” he commented with that same smug tone in his voice.

WILD SLAKOTH APPEARED! [/style] Slakoth || Female || Truant || Normal || Level 9 Scratch || Yawn || EncoreThe Slakoth blinked her eyes slowly, tilting her head to the side as she stared at the Grass-type. Quick thinking? Wha? Was the Treecko referring to when she had dropped down off the grate? Did the other Pokemon actually think she had planned it? Her claw had slipped and she had fell before she could manage to grab the side of the railing again to keep herself up near her nest. It was a terrible mistake, really, and the fact that she had managed to avoid... whatever attack those glowing orbs had been really wasn't something she had planned on at all. It was coincidence that she had dodged something, nothing more and nothing less. So was it really any surprise that before she could even react in the slightest way, she had gotten slammed in the face with a hard tail, something that sent her flying until she smacked into the wall behind her. A small part of her was a little disappointed that she hadn't had the time to be able to use her claws, but there wasn't much more she could do than push herself upright again, blinking as she heard another voice. She turned, cocking her head to the side as she stared at the human standing there. A new friend? Hardly, the Treecko had been doing nothing more than disrupting her peaceful nap. And smacking her in the face with a hard tail. "Sla?" she mumbled, one claw coming up to her mouth thoughtfully. Most people - both humans and Pokemon - tended to think that she was stupid, lazy, and useless when really, she couldn't help it. She was a Slakoth, and the world moved at a faster pace than she did. As soon as she figured out what the human could possibly want with her, she'd be able to appropriately respond to it. She just needed to determine it first.

His plan had worked as his tail connected with her face, and Dionysus was happy to know that. Of course, this was the moment that the Treecko slumped to floor and started snoring as if someone had yelled ‘Nap Time’, which wasn’t the way to continue dominating the battle. It was obvious to everyone that he would need some sort of motivation to wake up, and the only proper motivation would be a couple of hits to his person by the dopey sort of Pokémon that his trainer wanted. Now, the only question was how to get the Slakoth to go on the offensive to make such a result happen.
”Taking a nap on the job, Dionysus. I do believe you know better than that,” said the young man as he watched as the battle took a stall moment. While he had been prepared for the paralysis that had occurred early, Brian didn’t have anything ready to wake up his Pokémon during these situations, so he would have to figure out some other way of assisting his Treecko. Perhaps, he could walk over there and kick the gecko in the head or step on his tail, but that would just cause a rise in rebellion in his Pokémon that would take too long to quell.
Glancing at the Slakoth, an idea popped into his head that might work, but it was definitely an unconventional plan. ”Hey you,” he said toward the Slakoth. ”How about you help me out and wake the gecko up? I need to have a talk with him about beating up poor, defenseless Pokémon.” Of course, he left out the end to the sentence which signified that he hated it when the Treecko did it without his permission. Naturally, this was also a test to see how easily manipulate the sloth Pokémon could be manipulated, which would tell him how easy it would be to train.

WILD SLAKOTH APPEARED! [/style] Slakoth || Female || Truant || Normal || Level 9 Scratch || Yawn || EncoreThe Slakoth blinked in surprise when the Treecko more or less suddenly faceplanted into the floor and started snoring, cocking her head to the side as she stared at the Grass-type. Had she really caused that? Well oops. She certainly hadn't intended that. A small feeling of guilt stabbed inside her, but before she could do much more than start reaching towards the other Pokemon, she heard the human speak, and the words he said got her brain whirling. Napping on the job? Know better than that? Did that mean.... that this human actively encouraged his Pokemon to attack innocents? No... that was just... the very concept of it sickened the poor Slakoth, and she was still trying to wrap her head around it when she realized that she was being addressed. With a soft whine, she looked up at the human. She wasn't sure if she wanted to wake the Treecko up! She wasn't sure if he did that sort of thing on a regular basis, and she didn't want to be helping anyone who hurt innocents! It'd go completely against everything that she was! She shook her head back and forth, debating the pros and cons of either action, and finally she ended up collapsing in a heap of beige fur with a loud whine. She didn't know what she was supposed to do! She wasn't made for these types of hard decisions! She just wanted to crawl back up onto her grate and go back to sleep! That was easy, and she wanted something easy. She wasn't cut out for this type of deep critical thinking. She was just a Slakoth.

It appeared that Brian was going to have to do something to persuade the Slakoth that attacking Dionysus would be in everyone’ best interest, but he would need a moment to think of what he could say to get the wild Pokémon to do what he wanted. From what he could tell, the sloth seemed to be a good natured sort like so many of the Pokémon that he collected, which meant that the only way to get it to do anything was to put it in a lose-lose situation. Upon this revelation, Brian quickly came up with a plan.
”If you don’t hit him, then I will,” stated the young man. To him, it seemed like the perfect plan as either way it would be the Slakoth’s fault that the Treecko was harmed, but it only worked if the wild Pokémon saw it that way. ”Every minute that passes by that you don’t attack Dionysus here, I am going to kick him.” Just to prove that he was telling the truth, Brian’s foot connected with the sleeping Pokémon’s rear, which sent the gecko sliding across the floor like a hockey puck. ”That’s one. How many more do you think that he can take?”
A loud snore signaled that the Treecko wasn’t even phased by this injury, which meant that more was required to wake it from its slumber. ”The clock is ticking.”

WILD SLAKOTH APPEARED! [/style] Slakoth || Female || Truant || Normal || Level 9 Scratch || Yawn || EncoreThe Slakoth's eyes widened at the threat. "Sla slakoth!" she protested loudly. Why the hell would you do that! She couldn't believe someone would be that cruel, and it wasn't even an empty threat either, not when he raised up his foot and hammered it home into the rear end of the poor Grass-type. "Slak slak slakoth slak!" she continued, her mind racing as fast as it could to try to rescue the Treecko from what she viewed as horrible abuse. He's not doing anything wrong! She wanted to scramble over and wrap herself around the other Pokemon protectively, it was just instinct, but maybe... maybe there was another answer. She had the idea form in her head, making sure not to look directly at it so that the fragile bubble wouldn't pop. She... didn't have to attack the Treecko. She... could attack... the human. The idea made her eyes widen but she knew that it was possibly the best solution she could have. She wasn't going to just attack a Pokemon when she didn't even want to fight! Claws glinting subtly in the light, she raised them up and slashed at the human's ankles in a Scratch attack. She wasn't about to just let that poor Grass-type get hurt, not when she could do something to stop it!

Brian watched as the Slakoth made noises at him, but since he couldn’t understand what she was saying he didn’t care to pay attention to it. For all he knew, the sloth was blubbering about not wanting to be there, which wasn’t something that could be considered important. Of course it was rather interesting to see how the Pokémon was coming at him as if there was really a chance of her hurting him, but the audacity of the Slakoth was quite impressive to watch. ”You will definitely make a wonderful addition to the team. The others could learn a thing or two about showing no fear against an overwhelming adversary,” he commented.
Naturally, he would stoop so low as to fight his Pokémon’s battles for them, but Brian wasn’t about to get cut up by the Pokémon’s claws. Hopping over the furry Pokémon, the white haired youth made his way over to where the gecko was laying so he could imbue some words of motivation into the Treecko’s ears to awaken him from the slumber that held him so fiercely. ”Dionysus, if you don’t wake up in the next five minutes I am going to let Vulcan come out and finish your fight like he had to when you battled that metal bird. Now do you want that?”

WILD SLAKOTH APPEARED! [/style] Slakoth || Female || Truant || Normal || Level 9 Scratch || Yawn || EncoreThe little Slakoth puffed up her fur irritably when her claws hit nothing but air, just shy of the strange fur covering one of the other's hind legs. She'd been trying to protect someone who didn't deserve that sort of abuse, but she had apparently failed. She could feel it as her muscles seized up in that way that all Slakoths did, and that was what left her frozen, unable to react at the words that were tossed her way. If she could have done anything, she would have shot back some impassioned message about how she would never bow down to someone who would kick his own Pokemon, but of course, she couldn't. Instead, she had to wait for the episode to slowly pass from her limbs, muscles relaxing so that she was entirely without tension, a puddle of comfortable Normal-type, almost as if she'd just been through a day at a professional groomer instead of just coming down from her ability affecting her. She blinked slowly, shaking her head from side to side. Usually it wasn't such a big problem when she'd black out like that, the sleeping baby Pokemon couldn't get very far before she was awake again, but this time she was in a far worse situation. She was being forced to use her claws for the first time in a very long time. ... Why couldn't she have just been left to sleep in peace?
