LET THE WHOLE THING BLOW
B A S I C I N F O
★ NAME: An Minh Lien
★ NICKNAME: Antonio. Just Antonio.
★ MEMBER GROUP: Human
★ POKEMON: Mudkip
★ STATUS N/A
★ AGE: 28
★ HEIGHT: 5’9”
★ WEIGHT: 152lbs
★ FACE CLAIM: Nicholas Brown from Gangsta.
★ APPEARANCE:
Antonio’s physical appearance can be described no less than ‘rough around the edges’. His eyes are a nondescript brown and he’s oddly pale, making his hair seem much darker than it should be. He seems much too thin for his height, and his black hair is kept in a perpetually messy state, as if it’s never seen a comb, and somewhat shaved short on his left side. He seems to have little muscle on him in the first place, despite spending most of his life running around, his genetics simply never allowed for bulk and kept him looking skinny as a twig, much to his displeasure. His clothes are old and worn and shabby, anything but fashionable as far as polite company is concerned, though it is all he can afford. He seems to care little for his appearance.
He walks around with a strangely confident air; as if he knows something you don’t and would definitely make you grovel before he told. As of yet, it seems that nobody’s been able to wipe that smirk off his face. Antonio’s hit several levels of ‘unapproachable’, and he seems like the very last person one would go to for help.
A rather unusual feature, and one almost nobody sees, is his tongue. There is a triangle shaped notch about a centimeter long on the left side.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
★ POSITIVE:
- Protective >> Antonio would fight tooth and nail for those he cares for. Once he attaches himself to a person, he seems to think he’s taken full responsibility for them and will defend them to no end.
- Persuasive >> Antonio knows words. Though he's not poetic, he knows just how to manipulate the simple things to get people to listen. In his opinion, it's the most effective.
- Confident >> He’s the sort of guy who knows what he’s doing, and if he doesn’t, can probably make himself look like he knows what he’s doing.
- Directional Ability >> Antonio spent much his younger life running around in vast swaths of nowhere, and up until recently, had been navigating his way across the pretty much impossible land. He can always tell you where the directions are, and once he’s travelled one road, he’ll never forget it.
- Diligent >> Setting his mind to something is no easy task, but once he does, he’ll pursue it until he finds it.
- Curious >> His upbringing leant little to dull his curiousity, which was probably what got him in trouble so often. He simply wants to know, though his means may not always be the best.
★ NEGATIVE:
- Short Tempered >> Antonio is easily angered and often isn’t hesitant to verbally or physically lash out when under threat. It’s his knee jerk reaction, and questions could be asked later.
- Unforgiving >> Once a grudge is brought up, it is held tight. He almost never lets go of previous enemies, even if the other person has long forgotten.
- Arrogant >> His pride will kill him one day, but he never listens. More often than not, even when he knows he’s defeated, he’d launch right back in because a wounded pride is something to be avoided at all costs.
- Rebellious >> Standing up against imposed rules seems to be a hobby of his. He almost never listens when given direction and can become quite rude about it.
- Immature >> Even though he’s taken care of himself since leaving home, he’s still rather emotionally needy.
- Opinionated >> Antonio makes immediate judgments upon meeting a person, and no matter how they act afterwards, tends to pigeonhole them as a certain stereotype in his mind.
★ HABITS, QUIRKS:
- When he becomes nervous or agitated, he often scratches himself raw. He rarely notices he does this until he’s dripping all over the place.
- Antonio’s excessively wary. Whenever he enters his apartment, before he even takes his shoes off, he looks through each room until he’s sure he’s alone.
- He outright refuses to talk about his older brother, other than to scoff at him. It’s obvious the relationship isn’t very good there, though if asked, he’ll talk endlessly about his younger sister.
- If a person visits, they are not leaving without being fed. Period.
★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Antonio was the family’s spitfire, the black sheep, the one his parents clicked their tongues at and told that he better start behaving like his big brother, or he’d make nothing of himself. Whenever there was trouble, he’d be blamed. Whenever fingers were pointed, he was the scapegoat. It didn’t matter what happened or if he was even there; Antonio was always under suspicion. This was likely due to his rebellious nature and his curiousity; obedience was a prized thing where he came from, and the boy would never let a sleeping dog lie. He’d question everything he came across, innately curious.
He gives off an intimidating air, and seems unapproachable by most. People would likely avoid walking past him at night based purely on how he seems to smile at them as he passes. It’s like h knows, no matter what it truly is. Antonio’s oddly confident in himself, prideful and stubborn and it just radiates off him in the way he walks and talks. Of course, some may find this part of his charm, but likely not. His real charm comes out when one begins to talk to him. He is more or less agreeable, depending on the subject, and easy to talk to.
Antonio is rather easily angered, more than willing to get into verbal or physical fights. However, the way he goes about picking fights makes him comparable to a male hyena. Though he acts tough and is willing to provoke, he’ll swiftly back off and become submissive if the person proves calmer and more in control. If a person retaliates in any way, he’ll be likely to attack, but a person’s self-control is something that, oddly enough, intimidates him.
His pride prevents him from admitting his weaknesses. Ever. And one such weakness, probably the biggest one, is his need for approval. Antonio constantly denies that he needs anybody, but in the back of his mind, he’s always looking for some affection.

H I S T O R Y
Antonio was born out in the middle of nowhere… or a small colony out in the middle of nowhere, far away from the main city. He was the second son of a farming couple; his brother, Orion, was born two years before him, and so it was said that he’d always stay two steps ahead. It would prove to be more like two hundred later on, but as children, it didn’t seem to matter much in the grand spec of things.
He was three years old when his little sister was born, and at the time, he was too young to quite understand the impact yet. For the time being, he was busy being an average, troublesome kid. Even at such a young age, it was obvious how he and his brother were different. His brother was agreeable, calm and quiet while Antonio was always getting himself in trouble. His parents were always chiding him to get his nose out of other people’s business and curb his curiousity.
Work started at a young age in the colony. His brother was already helping on the farm, and so he soon joined as well. Competition between the two began at this point. Fierce competition that would later on turn out downright violent. His parents always favoured Orion, as he was the oldest son and the more responsible one. He was growing up to be their ‘ideal’, while Antonio was turning out to be a black sheep.
Antonio and Orion were always trying to outdo each other… or, more like, Antonio was always trying to outdo Orion and failing. If he managed to catch two fish in the river, his brother was able to catch five. If he climbed a tree, his brother would’ve already been at the top of a higher one. He was stronger, better looking, and could easily manage tasks that he himself would find difficult. There was, however, never competition between the two brothers and their sister, Aurelia.
In fact, they both vied for her favouritism. The two brothers protected their little sister with a ferocity as they grew up together, and only seemed to ‘agree’ with each other when it came to her wellbeing and safety. The two boys were lucky, in a sense that they never received the virus their mother had; the one that seemed to cause the downfall of the world before they were born. Unfortunately, their little sister was not so lucky, and it was immediately apparent that she was ill. Their father, catching wind of a black market for DNA that would potentially cure her, went out and came back with what would possibly save her life.
At the time, the boys were much too young to understand the full implications. All they knew was that it was important to keep the transfusion a secret from everybody else, and their little sister. They readily agreed, and only later would understand why. For now, they were happy that she was getting better.
Growing up in the small colony was frustrating for Antonio. His brother was obviously favoured over him, and so he grew more and more rebellious, developing attention seeking behaviours for acknowledgement, even if it was bad attention. He was frequently scolded and yelled at, and he took simple comfort in wandering. When he was twelve years old, he began to wander outside the limits of the colony, despite his family’s protests. Nothing would stop him, and as he grew older, he went further and further away, sometimes not returning for days on end.
Of course, his wanderlust worried his parents, who tried to enforce harsher and harsher rules to get him to stay. They always said that “Orion would never do this or that”, or any action he seemed to be doing, in fact. Once again, seconded to his brother, he was distanced from his family. The only one he seemed to care for, and the only one who didn’t judge him to all hell, was Aurelia.
What his parents didn’t know was that his brother had been less than kind to him, almost as a way of getting his anger out. It started when they were perhaps twelve or so with pushing and shoving, but whenever Antonio tried to retaliate, he’d be punished for it. Whenever he’d come home with bruises or cuts, his parents chalked it up to a growing boy being a growing boy and never believed that their little angel could harm a fly. It was never outright neglect; they simply didn’t believe that Orion was capable of doing anything so harmful. But in stark contrast, Orion treated Aurelia like a queen, never speaking so much as a sharp word to her and spoiling their little sister.
When Antonio was fifteen, his parents’ favouritism became outright obvious. The farm lands that had been in the family for as long as anybody could remember would he inherited by Orion, and only Orion. Of course, Antonio would be free to live there and work there, but nothing was in his name. It was his brother’s, and he was almost sure that as soon as his parents passed on, he’d be kicked out. Coupled with the repeated bullying he received at his hands, his frustration reached its peak.
It started with confrontation, and ended with his brother “accidently” taking a notch of his tongue out with a knife. Antonio thought he’d stand up for himself and confront his brother, threatening to prove to their parents that Orion wasn’t such a lamb, hopefully putting a stop to his bullying. It was over in less than fifteen minutes, and Orion had him pinned, cutting a chunk of his tongue out as a reminder that he shouldn’t go wagging it.
Antonio went quiet after that, often staying for days away from home, coming back only to let Aurelia know he was still alive. He didn’t care whether his parents saw him, but tried to pick days that his brother wasn’t home. He was only really around anymore for his little sister who, when he turned twenty, got engaged to the kid of a family friend.
It came as no surprise to him when she disappeared soon after. With her went any attachment he had to the colony, and when her brother was sent out to find her, Antonio said he’d go as well. Needless to say, he slipped away on his own two nights afterwards. Though still determined to find his little sister, he has no intention of returning her home when he does, and no intention on returning home himself.
He searched for a while through various other outlying colonies and villages, but soon relocated to Aether, taking up home in the abandoned sector, penniless enough to be unable to afford even the slums. Of course, Antonio had to survive somehow, and the only way for a man like him soon came in the form of more questionable activities. Eventually, he gathered enough resourced to get himself an actual apartment, no matter how roach-and-rat infested it was.
