Erica frequently found she could sit on a bench for hours, taking pictures of people as they walked by, and no one ever seemed to notice. She'd already been sitting on the bench for three hours, snapping photos, and had gone through more then two hundred pictures - and not one single person had thought to stop and see what she was doing. She was, simply put, part of the background now. People didn't notice her any more then they noticed the average tree, or a bench. They really only noticed if they wanted to sit down, and even then, they simply picked another bench.
The marketplace was crawling with people, filled to the very brim. Those were Erica's favorite days, of course. When it was empty, she was more likely to be spotted, more likely to be noticed. Busy days like this, no one gave her any more then a glance.
She'd just finished up a whole set of photos of a rather attractive white haired man who'd wandered by. He was alarmingly attractive, but had that 'bad boy' look that told her that following him for more photos was probably a bad idea. Some people, she could follow for hours without the tiniest bit of risk, but some had a bit more experience. They didn't notice people lurking stationary, but being followed always made people more nervous, after all.
Instead, she stared at her camera, clicking through the photos and clearing out bad shots.

Notes;; Here we go~ Don't torture him too hard now |D [/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]He knew his type.
He was a Gijinka... that was almost painfully obvious to him. But that's not what mattered to Oliver. Human, Gijinka... everyone was one in the same. Blood didn't matter, it all spilled the same way. But this man, Oliver was pretty damn sure he was Epispect material... and that's what did matter to him.
Epispect was the one thing that he hated the most... he had created Team Rocket to take them down, after all... but he didn't have enough information. If he could nab just one member of Epispect, or an insider willing to betray them for any reason, he could make an infiltration. But as it were, he was stuck. Left on the outer side of a stone cold wall - the one thing that stood between him and the man he so desperately wanted to murder.
In all honesty, his plans were to nab the white haired male he had been tracking for a while now, but that became increasingly impossible as he moved from active area to active area. Just one alley... just one, deserted, quite area... that's all... He silently urged, but this man moved like he had somewhere to go... or like he knew what Oliver was trying to do.
Either way, it irritated him. To the point where he was about ready to simply pull a blade out and attack the man, others or not - they would flee.
But in the market place... he quickly disappeared - blending in with the hundreds of people who lurked the area. Growling deeply, the sound resembling that of the dragon who's DNA coursed through him, Oliver pulled the hood down from his head, letting it fall over his shoulders as he looked left and right with his single, good eye.
Nothing.
"Goddammit..." The word fell harshly from his lips, teeth gritted as he quickly hid the sheath for his blade away in his sleeve once more. Of course... he didn't notice the female snapping pictures either...
But that wouldn't last long. [/style] |

She doubted she'd see him again, in the endless masses of Aether. There were simply too many people around, and unless she was actively looking, the chances of running into the same person several times was minimal. He'd simply be sorted into the album as an unknown person, and tucked away, never to be glanced at again. She preferred albums that she actually knew - people who she could put a name to a face. Random passerby were nice to look at once, but little else.
The moment the white haired man was gone, she was already searching for her next target, eyes flicking from face to face. There were a few, of course - but only one stood out. Dark blue hair was what first drew her eyes, but it was the side of his face that held her there. Scars. Scars were always the sort of thing that interested her, the sort of thing that drew the eye and made someone look more then ordinary. He did, too. He looked interesting, unique, and the way he was glancing around meant there were plenty of opportunities. She doubted he would even notice her, so she quickly brought the camera up, taking a few quick photos.

[/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Strings of curses fell out, hidden under his breath as gave up searching for his so called "prey". He was gone. Lost in the sea of faces. It was no major deal though, despite the fact that it irritated him to no end. He would track the man later, and deal with things then.
But now, he had nothing to do.
He supposed he could leave the area and go sneak around Epispect, or train... or terrorize the lower ranked rocket members... that was always fun. A good portion of them were scared shitless of him, so it was a rather easy feat too. But if he snuck around Epispect, he could possibly find a fight... and that sounded pretty damn good at the moment too. He contemplated this with a thoughtful face, humming as he mulled his options over.
Of course, he could always have his rocket members fight him and tell them it was "training".
With his decision made, choosing to terrorize his members and give them a good mind fuck, as well as a beat down, Oliver took one last look around the area, hopeful he could catch a glimpse of his albino friend. But no luck. Huffing, he turned to leave... but paused.
His eyes landing on a brown haired female. Taking pictures. ... of him...?
Tilting his head, his single, golden eye narrowing, he smirked and pocketed his hands in his jacket as he began to stroll in her direction. Now... why would someone want to take photographs of him? In his mind, he wasn't really a looker... little did he know it was otherwise to a good portion of people... but Oliver had a distaste for the scars on his face, and saw them as marring things.
He never thought someone else would take interest in them.
Stopping just before Erica, Oliver looked down on her with curiosity, that devilish smirk still plastered on his face, "Tell me... what's interesting enough here to deserve a photograph?"

The trick was sorting them out - finding the pictures that really captured the subject, and disposing of the rest. Digital cameras made it useful, after all, let her take plenty of shots, then delete them on the fly. Some of the smaller cameras didn't even have the screen, which made it a huge pain. It meant she had to sort things all out on her tiny laptop when she got home, and more often then not, she ended up with a full memory card before she was done.
On this camera, though, she could see easily. Pictures done for the moment, she flicked the camera down, starting to tab through each photo. Most were deleted immediately, but some stood out - a particularly nice one, with the navy haired man turning his head at just the right angle was especially nice. She paused, admiring the shot for the moment, before nearly jumping out of her skin.
Someone was talking. Erica was an extremely good sneaker, and very aware when she was doing so, but when she wasn't, she was dead to the world. Oliver had walked right up to her, and was less then a foot away, and she hadn't even realized it until he spoke. When he did, though, she actually jumped - the motion immediately obvious as her head jerked up, eyes flicking to his face, and then immediately dropping to the ground. What had he said? The words seemed odd to her, but it was largely because she had been paying no attention before now. "Huh? Oh, I, uh..." What was she supposed to say? That she was collecting his photos because he'd look good in her album? "Your... scar looked interesting...?"
It was a weak excuse at best. No one was actually going to believe such a terrible excuse, even if it was at least partially true. The scar was what had drawn her eye, after all, what had brought all this on. It wasn't even really her fault, was it? He was the one with the scar, drawing attention and all. Never mind the eye - which, apparently, was missing, buried under an eyepatch.

Notes;; hmm... any idea where this is going?
[/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Of all things, interesting was the last thing Oliver figured this confrontation would be. But as he watched her jump quite visibly, he couldn't help but to let that smirk that grow larger on his lips. His eye met hers in a flash before she quickly tore them away, focusing on the ground between them... had she really not seen him coming up? What all was on that camera that was so interesting?
He was actually amused. She seemed to be stumbling in her own mind for the words to say... he liked that. But what he didn't like... or at least wasn't used to, was her next words. My scar... interesting? If she only knew... Even then, it didn't sound like a legitimate excuse... more like a question, an idea she pulled out of thin air. Closing his good eye, he tilted his head away from her, "That's not something people find interesting as much as they do marring." He began, his voice a low murmur as though he didn't want others to hear, "More people find it a thing to fear than to admire... only the bad guys have such features. So quick to judge..."
Was he playing with her head...? Playing off the fact that he could be someone kind, gentle and caring? Another lie, planted inbetween his lips to woo in another person. He was quite the opposite.
While he didn't give two shits about the scar being on his face, as it gave him the motivation that he needed to go after Epispect members and, more importantly, their leader, he had an unnerving sense of awkwardness when someone focused on it for too long... and more often than not, those who did ended up going home a little more cut up than when they left. "As interesting as it may be, all things hold their tales, good... or bad." It was a hint to what laid behind the scar, the events that unfolded which awarded him with such a thing.

Looking at people was like staring down a bear - they were just supposed to charge if you did it... right? She was fairly sure that was how it was supposed to work, anyway. Something about predators and looking them in the eye, anyway. Better safe then sorry.
Marring? Not really. Scars were interesting. "They're not so bad. Some people have whole parts missing. You just have... well, scars." Her voice was soft, as always, and nervous. Scars were so often a private thing, after all, and it could be seen as prying to say that sort of thing. "Everyone has scars. Good and bad. The people, I mean. Good people can have scary scars." Frantically, she tried to think up someone historical who'd had a big scar - and came up blank. Remembering such things wasn't her forte. Hours later, when she was alone, she'd be able to think up a million, but now she couldn't think of one.
He went so far as to mention the fact that there was a story about it. A story was interesting to her, yes, but asking would certainly be overstepping her bounds. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry." Certainly didn't. She would never want to do that. Doing so - well, that would be a mistake. "And I didn't mean to stare." Stare sounded so much better then 'photograph'.

[/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Observing others was something Oliver seemed to do alot of... at least when he was interested in them for one reason or another - usually for manipulation purposes. One thing he noted rather quickly was that she didn't seem to want to look at him, and it made him somewhat curious. Was she afraid? Or was it something else...?
Though, he rose an eyebrow at her words. Not so bad...? Well... in Oliver's opinion, you couldn't compare scars to body parts missing... they were two completely different things, marring in their own ways. Besides... she didn't know he was so unlucky to lack the use of his eye under the patch. Despite some having scars over their eyes, they could still use them. "Just scars...?" He questioned as though he was mulling this over, were they really just scars...? Or a painful reminder of things past and things to come?
"But you see... most people assume - if you have such a scar, you did something terrible to earn it." It was true, for the most part - a scar was rarely a sign of a good deed. They meant trouble, and rarely had a good tale behind them. How she could be so... optimistic intreagued him. "For you to think such a thing..." Oliver's voice trailed off as he tilted his head, allowing his eyes to run from her figure, top to bottom... to top once more, "Makes you... unique... no?"
With a smirk forming on his face, he leaned over, his face not too far from hers, "Oh... I think you did a little more than stare~" He crooned, a devilish glint hiding somewhere deep within his single, useful golden eye. [/style] |

Erica never looked anyone straight in the eye. She wouldn't even look her own parents in the eye. Not really. She hadn't for years and years, simply because looking someone in the eye seemed so aggressive. It was like standing up to a wild animal - you were supposed to just roll over. Play dead. Erica was doing the human equivalent of that.
Why did he seemed so surprised she'd said they were 'just scars'? Had she offended him? Maybe there was some big meaning behind it. Maybe she'd insulted him. "I'm sorry." She mumbled softly, suddenly unsure. How was she supposed to fix that, without knowing the proper meaning for such things? "I just meant that people shouldn't be judged by scars." There, that would do. Nice and inoffensive.
What he said next, though, surprised her. Yes, most people assumed such things, but people rarely admitted to those kind of assumptions. Regardless, she gave a tiny nod. "Life is... difficult. People get hurt without having any say in it." She clarified. What if someone's house burnt down? They had no say in that. Or getting caught in the crossfire. Those weren't things people could help, yet they still left terrible scars. It wasn't fair to judge people by that sort of thing, was it?
Then, of course, Oliver went right on to short circuit her brain. He was too close, and it was like her brain decided to turn off completely, shorted by the proximity, by the lack of space. Instinctively she leaned back, but it wasn't nearly enough. "N-no! I'm nothing special, really." She commented, still broken from his earlier statement as she tried to come up with some explanation. "It was- it was just a picture!"

[/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Of course, the fact that she refused to make eye contact told Oliver a lot about her... She was more timid than he had expected with her snapping pictures of him. With that thought, his mind wandered idly... did she, perhaps, know who he was? Or was she simply afraid of contact with any human - that was possible too... With each word she said, he doubted more and more that she knew he led the group known as Team Rocket.
That would be a fun secret to slip if it came to it. Hell... he was tempted to let it slip anyway. If nothing more than to see her reaction.
But once more, he found himself taken back by her words. Was she serious...? Or was she trying to cover her hide so he didn't try anything with her? Either way, he was having a hard time believing she was saying what she was. "I don't think you have any reason to apologize yet." He began, his eye keeping contact with hers for what it could, "Not all people should... you're right... But tell me this..." He paused for a moment, mulling the words over in his head, choosing his wording carefully, "How do you differentiate the ones you should judge by the ones you shouldn't?"
It wasn't a trick question... but rather a point. If she gave a certain answer... he'd feel comfortable with letting her in... if she gave the undesired question... well.. he'd see where things led. But knowing her... he was quite interested with how she'd respond.
Oh... he flustered her... perfect~ Purring, he moved a little closer, glancing down to the camera in her hands, "Just a picture... hm? Well, I suppose they do last longer~" It was a common thing children teased each other with, 'take a picture, it lasts longer'.. and they also said that a picture was worth a thousand words... just why was she photographing him? "Let me see it~" He whispered, his lips inches from her ear.

Well, she supposed there wasn't if he hadn't yet realize that she had spent the last hour snapping licit (and thus illegal) photos of unsuspecting people. It was good that he didn't know yet, hadn't realize it. It was the single bit of light in the tunnel she'd entered the moment he walked towards her. If he didn't know, she still had a chance - could still get away. The moment he realized the truth, she was doomed. He'd either turn her in, or blackmail her... or, possibly, beat the shit out of her himself.
It had happened once before, and she wasn't eager to repeat the experience.
The question, to Erica, seemed stupid. She was an idealist at heart, liked to believe in the best of people. Someone had once called her non-judgmental, and she'd taken that to heart. "You shouldn't. I mean, there's no way to actually tell, so you have to trust that everyone is the latter." Her voice was still quiet and timid, but there was a tiny bit of confidence in that answer. There was no other right one, after all.
The next question, though, had several wrong answers, and no right one. If she said no, it sounded like she had something to hide. If she said yes, he would see it. Yes, the last few were all of him, but before that someone else... and before that, someone else, and so on and so on. She was going to have to try and show him, without letting him actually hold the camera.
"A-alright." She said, half stuttering as she flipped the camera on, flicking it to a picture of him and then holding it out for him to see - all while keeping a firm hold on the camera.

[/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Treat everyone like they shouldn't be judged... hm? Well, that was an interesting take on the matter - it wasn't one Oliver thought she would take, that's for sure... but then again, she did seem pretty... innocent? It was Oliver's firm belief that this sort of thinking would get you into worlds of trouble, you couldn't trust anyone except for a select few - a very, very small group - and if the person in question had rather questionable scars, even less so. But... she had to see more than he could. His sight was narrowed when he was a child, blinders placed on either side to keep him going on a straight path, no diversions allowed.
He didn't understand it. But that only raised his interest in the female before him.
She seemed.... hesitant, when he asked to see what she had on her camera. Was she afraid of something...? His reaction? What he would do to her if he was displeased? Or... on the off hand chance that he was pleased? Or did she have something to hide...? Certainly she didn't have to hide anything from Oliver, it's not like he cared about such things. What harm could a few pictures do? He could certainly handle himself if things turned to a stalker case... but he doubted that.
As she turned the camera to face him, he glanced to the screen, displaying an image she had taken of him. With a soft hum, he moved, encasing the camera, and her hands, in his own and looked at it carefully. It was strange, seeing himself in such a light... he never really let others take pictures of him, and when he did, they weren't very good. "I see..." He began, no real emotion showing through his tone - letting no hint slip to the ideas rolling around in his mind.
After a few moments of silence, he hummed and looked from the camera to her face, that sly, all knowing smirk returning to his lips as he rose a hand to her chin, tilting her head upward slightly. "So... this is your interest...?" He whispered, his eye not leaving hers, running from blue to blue and back again. "How deep does your interest run...? His voice grew heavier as he spoke, the space between their faces closing as he leaned in, "Does everyone get this opportunity...?

Only when he did, she very much wished he hadn't. His question left her mouth hanging slightly open, words escaping her. Her interest? What, Photography? Men? How deep di-
Her brain ground to a screeching halt. What the hell had just happened?
A full three minutes later, Erica's brain finally clicked enough to mutter out a few things that weren't even words, before finally managing to get out one that was coherent. "W-what?!"
