LET THE WHOLE THING BLOW
B A S I C I N F O
★ NAME: None that he remembers; considers Raze his "real" name.
★ NICKNAME: Raze; Number 227
★ MEMBER GROUP: Team Rocket ; Gijinka
★ POKEMON: Skarmory
★ AGE: Eighteen
★ HEIGHT: 5'9"
★ WEIGHT: 168.5 lbs
★ FACE CLAIM: Accelerator from To Aru Majutsu No Index
★ APPEARANCE:
As a Team Rocket operative, Raze tries to avoid standing out in public. Unfortunately, with his silver hair, pale skin, and eyes the red of a Skarmory's blade-like wings, he can't help but draw a few looks wherever he goes. At only five-foot-nine, he is a lot smaller than some of his fellow Rockets and with a frame that is far more light than muscular, he easily looks like one of the wimpiest of the bunch. Perhaps due to the Flying half of his Pokemon DNA, he weighs far less than most Steel-type gijinka, but don't let that fool you: he is still far more resiliant than any human boy his age, and quite a bit heavier than he looks.
As stated before his hair is a silvery color that borders on white, most likely a side effect of the Skarmory DNA the scientists at Epispect treated him with, and he tries to keep it neck-length, though with his self-inflicted "trimmings" it tends to be choppy and messy at best. His eyes are a shade somewhere between rust and blood red, and probably the only part of his appeareance that it outright intimidating...or, at least, until one sees the range of psychotic smirks and grins the Rocket is capable of. He makes grinning like a madman an art, even though he is usually calmer than he appears to be, at least until you face him on the field of battle. Because if he is still smiling when he's got a dagger in one hand and a gun in the other, it's probably a good idea to get the hell out of there unless you've got a fire or electric type to throw at him.
Thanks to the years spent either as an experiment for Epispect or on the streets with his gang, his body is littered with scars, some larger than others. However, they barely stand out against the boy's already pale skin, making it difficult to tell that they're there without taking a closer look than he's likely to give you. His clothing is usually simple, nothing that stands out too much, though he does have a preference for black, white, and grey shirts overall. Just give him a pair of jeans, a tee-shirt, and coat and he's good to go. Oh, and his knife and gun, you can't forget those. Most often, he hides those beneath a coat or hoodie, concealed from sight but still relitively accessable.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
★ POSITIVE:
- Loyal - Raze may be short with his fellow Rockets at times, and he does has a tendency to make half-sarcastic marks about their leader when the latter isn't around, but he is extremely loyal to them. He has to be, since his friends' safety rides on him remaining useful.
- Tough - Despite his extreme weaknesses to fire and electric-type attacks, Raze is extremely resilient, thanks to his Steel-type DNA. Additionally, open wounds on his body tend to form a red steel "scab" over them, protecting his injuries from further harm until they can fully heal; these armor-like scabs fall off on their own once the skin beneath them has mended, and can be melted down for use in lightweight armor and weapons, much like a Skarmory's discarded feathers.
- Friendly - Well, in his own guarded, sarcastic way. While he is only in Team Rocket in order to keep a promise to his gang's deceased former leader, he doesn't have any qualms about working with other members, or forming sort of quasi-friendships with them. However, he still puts his old friends first and foremost, and would turn his back on the new ones for their sake.
- Goal-oriented - Whether he's carrying out a mission for Team Rocket or pursuing his own desires, he keeps clear goals and objectives in mind and works to fulfil them. His first and foremost one is, of course, to remain useful to Team Rocket for his gang mates's sakes.
- Well-trained - His past as one of Epispect's soldiers is not one that he is by any means proud of, but if there is one good thing that came from the way he was raised, it was that he learned to defend himself from a young age. Unfortunately, other Rockets tend to think he is weak regardless because so many of them have type advantages over him.
- Fairly knwledgable - As a former member of Epispect, even if he was just an experiment and low-ranking soldier, he is aware of how their enemy operates. However, because he isn't sure how his former gangmates and fellow Rockets might react if they found this out, he keeps quiet about it.
★ NEGATIVE:
- Willing to harm others to prove himself - Raze knows that staying in Team Rocket means he can't allow himself to be show pity for his targets, as pity is frequently equated with weakness, and while he may feel a little bad about some of the things he's done he knows they were nessasary for his goals. In a kill or be killed world, he'd much rather side with the killers than end up another nameless corpse in the pile, if only because he has promises to keep.
- Common weaknesses - Also known as the bane of his existance. He is extremely vulnerable to both electric and fire-based attacks and, unfortunately for him, there are many other Rockets who are adept at using one of the other. That said, some other Rockets consider him pretty weak and useless just because they would have no trouble taking him out. It really pisses Raze off, and bringing it up is an easy way to get on his bad side.
- Vicious - Raze can be friendly with his companions and is extremely devoted to his old gang buddies, but in battle, he is downright ruthless. He enjoys fighting with a kind of mad glee, and he'd be lying if he said that the sight of his enemies' blood didn't make him want more. Of course, how he feels about it after the battle is a different matter: sometimes, he might feel guilty if his opponent really didn't deserve it, but that's just the way the world works. He suspects it might be part of the experiments Epispect put him through as a kid.
- Habitually lies by omission - You could see his refusal to come clean about his past in Epispect as this. And it's not just that; he doesn't tell blatant falsehoods to others - or at least he tries not to - but he witholds information whenever he thinks it would come back to bite him in the rear if it got out. In other words, he won't go out of his way to fabricate lie, but he's not oblidged to tell you the truth either.
- Sarcastic - He can be extremely sarcastic at times - usually when someone's said something to aggravate him - which can lead to ass-kickings when he forgets to shut his mouth in front of certain individuals. Not that he cares, as long as he doesn't get zapped or burnt in retalliation for his unwelcome comments.
- Overtaxes his body - To Raze, there are only two reasons for him to keep on living: first, to help secure a better life for his former gang mates, and second, to spite Epispect. Yet despite having found a reason to live, he is extremely reckless with his body, and in many instances doesn't even stop to treat his own wounds when he's injured. Really, he only sees his body as a vessel for achieving his goals, and doesn't care one bit what shape it ends up in or how much pain he has to go through as a result, which has lead to him passing out in alleyways due to blood loss more than once.
★ HABITS, QUIRKS:
- He carries at least two weapons on him at all times: a small handgun and a crimson-bladed dagger made out of one of his melted down "scabs." When nervous about anything, he has a tendency to check them and make sure that they're where they belong.
- As a Steel-type gijinka, he has a natural immunity to poison-type moves, as well as any poisonous substances he might injest on his own. Beyond that immunity, he also has a strong stomach and can eat even the worst tasting foods with little complaint, which is pretty damn useful when your boss takes a disturbing amount of pleasure in shoving charred and blackened food down your throat for his amusement.
- Despite being part Steel-type he is quite agile due to his Skarmory DNA's dual-typing, much to the surprise of some.
- Even though he's weak to fire-type moves, Raze hates being cold, and often wears a coat even during the warmer months.
- Because of his tendency to "freak out" during fights, he tends to carry a small mp3 player on his person at all times, as music tends to bring him back to sanity. Of course, he turns it off before serious fights, but it's nice to have around so that he doesn't tear someone apart when he doesn't mean to.
- Finally, he doesn't know how to read very well, though he tries to disguise this fact; Epispect wouldn't waste their time trying to teach a weapon to read, as reading leads to thinking which in turn leads to disobedience. It was one of his former gangmates that taught him what little he does know, but it's not much. Because of this, he can't write a lot either, just his name mainly. He has a bit of a complex about this as well.
★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
As far as the members of Team Rocket go, Raze is probably one of the saner ones; he has goals and dreams like anyone else, knows where his loyalties lie, and actually has people he cares about. That's not to say he does not have his faults because, hell, everyone does. For one thing, he is extremely secretive about his past and his opinions, mostly for the same reasons: to save himself from any trouble they might stir up with the organization. Being a former Epispect soldier - albeit only for a few months - probably wouldn't go over well about the higher-ups. As for his opinions...well, there's not much to say about that. He dislikes having to take jobs from his superiors where he is to kill anything, but he still does them without complaint, because in the end it's better to be the one doing the killing than one of their victims. He also has a bit of a distaste for working with black market operatives, but that's just a personal hangup of his. Finally, he can be sarcastic and rude toward other rockets, especially if one of them brings up his apparent weakness as he has a bit of a complex about it. Still, he is definitely less danerous to the average person than some of his fellows, unless of course someone orders him to "get rid of" someone - in which case someone is most likely going to end up a bloody mess, one way or another.
Yeah, so maybe he's not a shining example of mental stability after all. Years spent as an experiment without rights, a purpose in life, or even a name can do that to you. Especially when the scientists overseeing you decide that you need to go through a special "educational program" so that they can turn a gijinka that's normally skittish about killing into a more usable, ferocious soldier. The end result of all that mind rape at a young age is that, while fairly friendly as far as rockets go, Raze goes absolutely berserk whenever fighting pokemon and people alike, unless of course he has some music playing to calm him down. Which is why he tries to keep his battered mp3 player on his person at all times, just in case - though he takes his earbuds out when he needs to fight seriously.
In addition to his violent episodes, he also shows an at times alarming disregard for his body's condition: he's shown up beaten and bloody a few times without more than a frown of displeasure to indicate that he's in any kind of pain, let alone the agony he should be experiencing. This might seem strange at first, but when you take into account that he was conditioned against pain since he was a young boy it is not all that surprising that he is more or less apathetic about whatever damage his body accumulates. And he certainly doesn't go out of his way to avoid getting beat up - he pushes himself to the limits trying to prove that he's "worthy" of belonging in Team Rocket because of how weak he is compared to the others in the organization. Type disadvantages, you know. They suck. And he has one hell of a complex about them that leads him to constantly toughen himself so as not to succumb to them. Unfortunately, his idea of "toughening up" means constantly throwing himself into danger and hoping that the old saying that "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" applies in the real world. Maybe it works after all, since he hasn't turned up dead yet.
