We'll walk this road together, through the storm
I'M NOT AFRAID TO TAKE A STAND
Most people avoided this place. Yet it wasn't the first, nor the last, time that Atsuro had been here. He was pretty sure there would be poison pokemon here. The smog and filth of the place seemed to attract them. Maybe, in a place like this, he'd find ghost pokemon too. It was worth a shot, and he could potentially give Epispect the location of some unsavory person selling DNA for the black market. He hardly cared if some lowlife was captured and their DNA extracted. It was the innocents he had a problem with. People who couldn't pay the extortionist prices of Epispect's, for a cure to the virus. Not that many had it nowadays, or caught it. Yet in every decade, there were at least some who did. He'd even heard of some who had the DNA forced on them. That was a great way to ruin someone's life. Epispect didn't have to know about the ones he 'didn't see'. More like overlooked purposefully, but they didn't have to know that. More often than not, it was scumbags using the DNA to make a profit or to power themselves up. He hadn't even really had a choice when he'd been given the transfusion. He was one of the children they had intended to use for capturing and even killing illegal gijinka. Leave that to his mother...he wanted no part in murdering people. With disdain, he waved smoky air out of his face, and continued picking his way through the place known as the jungle. Some jungle. It was a really unsavory neighborhood. The black market ran primarily out of here, but with all the places to hide and escape, it wasn't as easy as one might think to capture the people doing the selling or buying. He knew first hand, since he'd helped bring some in before finding out the truth of what was done to them. Still, he wasn't afraid of being here. He, unlike them, was a legalized gijinka, insofar as his little deal with Epispect went. He was an informant, and a good one. He had a quick eye, and the training to defend himself and then some. He was here for dual reasons, and his primary wasn't to stir up trouble for himself or anyone else. It was for the pokemon he was pretty sure lived in this area. They weren't involved in any of the crap that humans and gijinka were. They were innocents in it all. Even if it was their blood that caused the stir. He scanned the darker corners, around trash cans and overturned slats of wood. Anywhere that a pokemon might make home was not overlooked. Ideally, he wanted a dark, ghost or poison type for his first go at this. Yet he was willing, if it matched what he was looking for in a team member, to choose another to capture. Rarer or interesting specimens he might even take back to Epispect to trade with other people there. They had teams. Or he could trade with other trainers. Didn't matter. In the end he'd get his team of six, and then figure things out from there. Meantime, he would raise them, work with them...it was a nice idea. Only his mother's usefulness, and in a way his own, had gotten him into this rather than being Epispect's wholly. He had more freedom now than he ever did, and he wasn't about to squander that away. With a turn into a darker alleyway, he moved toward the light at the ending turn of it. He didn't mind dark spaces. In fact, they were advantageous to a Crobat gijinka like him. He could use supersonic to 'see' in the dark. That's why he'd been given that particular DNA. To work with his mother, who could do the same. Even now, he opened his mouth. No human ears could hear the supersonic sight call. It would bounce off what was ahead, and he would in turn 'see' what was there. He was hoping for a pokemon... |
