You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
This place was dark, dank and smelled odd. Not the kind of place someone such as he, Kazuko Takeuchi, would have found himself prior to his situation. Still, he wanted to find some ghost type pokemon, and had no idea where to look. He also wanted a water type, or maybe a psychic? This place was dark, and dank, and maybe it had what he wanted. He still would have rather been elsewhere. What had driven him to decide, finally, to come here, was simply that he had been interested in what kinds of pokemon he might find here.
He sniffed the air in disgust, raising a sleeved arm to his nose. How anything would want to live here, in this place, was beyond him. Still, the dank smell came with a dark place. Even caves had it, probably. He wasn't sure it was dirty, but rumors of the corpses found here were enough to make him cringe a bit inwardly. Not that he was afraid. Dead bones and bodies could harm no one. In fact, he was pretty self assured that no one would dare harm him. His parents would make them pay hell! Even if he was not in their good graces...
It reminded him why he was here. Part of him wanted to be, the other part cursed them for their verdict. Sending him out here, like some peasant, to be a trainer! With nothing more than any trainer had to begin with, and making him fend for himself? They had done just that. He would not forgive them so soon. People of his kind, they should not be made to do this kind of thing. He should have at least a good motercycle or in the very least an ATV. Instead he had to walk everywhere. On foot. Plus he had not been given his rightful dues of money. No, they had told him to earn it like every other trainer. Yes, he was right to be angry with them.
He didn't like the chill in this place. Part of him felt the adrenaline of it all, though. This was new. This was new, and a bit exciting. He was stubborn and didn't like to admit it, but this was like nothing he'd ever done before. He was given only a pokedex, five balls and some potions, and here he was, to battle a pokemon of his choosing to capture. He had argued with them. How dare they deny him a starter, just because he was also gifted with gijinka blood? The lab professor had actually shot a snide remark his way before he had grown frustrated and left. That someone with a lucario's DNA should not be such a little brat when he was probably more than capable of getting his own pokemon where others were not. Well, that had done it. He'd stormed off to find a pokemon, just to show that wench.
He hoped he'd find a worthy pokemon. Some were certainly not worthy of an individual like him. He didn't care for bug types, for starters. He would not permit one in his team. Ghost types he enjoyed. Dark types and psychic types. Dragon types...powerful things. Fire types were probably all right, too. He liked the mixes a lot. Mixes of more than one type. But he would see what best suited him. Maybe he could have a type that would allow him to forgo this stupid habit of walking everywhere. He was in shape, and not lazy. But he was quite accustomed to his chauffeurs and limos, his motercycle and yes, his car that he'd gotten when he turned sixteen. Much good it did him now, sitting at home while he had to go by foot everywhere. He suddenly stopped, still. He thought he had heard something. Was it a pokemon? Another person? He wasn't sure, but he had a feeling he would find out.

WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthClip clop, clip clop, clip clop.
That was the sound Girafarig's hooves made as he lightly stepped through the dark, dank, smelly tunnels. How had he ended up so far from his home just outside the human hive? He wasn't sure... but he was here, and now found himself lost in the dark, and stuck, for several hours. The fact that he often had to bend his long neck in order to squeeze his form through the smaller tunnels wasn't helping anyone and just confused him even more.
Whining softly in the dark, the larger antlered head swept lazily from side to side, hoping to find more vegetation to nibble upon. Grass did not grow beneath these human walls, and nothing flowered that he had seen. Only mushrooms were there to fill his stomach, and he at any he found while following the occasional gusts of cleaner air through the tunnels. Neither mind was was sure if their senses were being tricked or not. They could be moving towards and exit... or they could be following a false trail further in. Chances had to be taken if they wanted to get back home. Rumbling in dissatisfcation, Girafarig lifted his eyes from the ground and continued on toward the next corner. Behind him, his smaller head began to gnaw hopelessly at the empty air with a repetitive click of sharp teeth.
Upon turning the corner however, the front eyes narrowed in on the dark form of a human, whose scent had hidden beneath the odor of the catacombs. The alarm in the frontal brain alerted the back one, and both went silent as their shared hooves stilled. There was enough space here to keep his neck up at least, but not enough that he trusted his ability to fight. If he fought. Maybe this human boy was a nice one, like those children he could fondly remember feeding him once.
A snort and light scratch at the ground with his front right hoof had his mind- both of them- made up. Caution in his eyes, Girafarig approached the human with slightly bent head. Not because the ceiling was low, but so that the half-Psychic type would meet the boy's eyes. The closer he got, the more he noticed that there was something amiss in the human's scent. Something that wasn't.

You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
He could hear the sound of something approaching. It sounded like hooves were clip-clopping along the tunnel, and he paused reflectively. What had hooves? Ponyta was the first pokemon that came to mind. Deerling. There were a few. He drew in his breath sharply, wondering what pokemon was approaching ever closer. Then, it stopped. He stood rooted in place, as softly, it began again.
The face that appeared from out of the darkness was recognized instantly. Girafarig. Psychic and normal...and possibly an asset. It looked cautious, and like it was cramped in the tunnels more so than he. Advantageous. He narrowed his sapphire eyes sharply. It was wary, but it wasn't attacking. Some pokemon, he knew, could be persuaded to come along with humans. If they didn't attack right off the hop, by rule of thumb, a battle wasn't necessarily imminent. He could use a pokemon, and this was the first one that had come its way. He had to decide what to do.
He stood there, a moment, before remembering that pokemon could at least understand humans, if not the other way around. Did it sense he wasn't all human? Probably that bettered his chances at this, right?
"Hey there girafarig. I'm not going to battle with you. I do have a proposition, however. I'm looking for a pokemon at the present moment. You seem like a smart, capable pokemon. Plus I don't come empty handed." With that said, he reached into the pouch at his side, taking out a biscuit. Pokemon liked these, they had bits of fruit in them. Even more carnivorous types liked these, but for this kind of pokemon it was perfect. He held out a hand, wondering how this would go.
Girafarig was a good type of pokemon to begin with--or at least to help him get more pokemon. Every trainer had pokemon they wanted to end up with for their final team, and yet along the way it was common to acquire other kinds of pokemon. Whether you battled with them a while, or traded or sold them to people you felt were worthy of having them, was another matter. Still, the girafarig could do worse than him. He at least treated pokemon respectfully enough. He used them, sure. Everyone did. And he knew that he was using them for battle. Still, they seemed to like it. Humans helped them grow stronger, and evolve. With girafarig, maybe not evolution. But strength? He could offer that, and protection while it was with him, if this worked out according to plan. He didn't intend to move on until he had this one in one of his pokeballs. It was a good pokemon to begin with, he knew.

WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthBiscuit? That was nearly enough to seal the deal by itself, hungry, trapped in the human maze, and far from his usual fields as he was. The soothing tone of the boy as he spoke to Girafarig, and the fact that he didn't immediately throw out a Pokemon to do battle in this cramped space, where surely he'd be beaten, made him even more trustable. The dark head on his tail began to chew twice as fast at nothing as the scent of fruit cut through the odor in the air, and Girafarig's legs started to move foward again, less caution in his steps as he made his way toward the offered meal. This was one of the kind humans, that much was clear.
"Faaaaarig," His neck gave a gentle throb as the tall Pokemon bent his neck once again, but this time Girafarig was happy to do it in order to reach the boy's hand. The biscuit both looked and smelled delicious, and the Psychic wanted a taste. Big, soft, kind blue eyes looked thankfully into the human's own as the food was tugged out of the hand. It tasted amazing, and as both mouths chewed, a pink nose was pushed into the boy's chest, then lifted over his hair to touch the ceiling with a whine.
He wanted the human to understand! He was trapped! He needed someone to get him out, and tilted his head back down again to stare hopefully at the helpful human. "Faaar."

You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
Kaz couldn't help but to feel a liking for the pokemon, even though he had come here on the business of battling to capture one. He had been looking forward to that--maybe to prove to himself that he could. Yet what was he supposed to do now? Attack the pokemon just so he could say he had caught it through overcoming it in battle? Hardly. He wasn't stupid, even if he was a little disappointed with the fact. Besides, as the girafarig came forward and took the biscuit, it looked up at him with an unmistakable look of gratefulness. He felt a tug at the corner of his mouth, and quickly tried to kill the expression. It was about capturing pokemon, nothing else.
Still, he was surprised when the head of the pokemon was thrust into his chest, and then the pokemon gave a plaintive cry, looking at the lower ceiling. Well, he could understand that fast enough. It didn't want to be here. It wanted out. It was cramped in here, it was a pokemon that probably liked open spaces. What to do now? He didn't want to leave yet. He wasn't here to play 'rescue the pokemon'. Still, he felt a tugging inside, and cursed it. He met the eyes of the girafarig, and looked up at the ceiling, sighing, before back at it. It wouldn't find its way out on its own. He had two options. He could lead it out, or he could get it inside a pokeball and carry it out that way. Question was, which was going to work for the pokemon? Only one way to find out.
He nodded to the pokemon, and then removed a pokeball from his belt. The tunnel entrance to this place was further back than he liked, but if he had to walk it out and walk back in, so be it. Still, it was inconvenient and that irritated him more than a little. He didn't let that show, though.
"I can take you out," he said, pointing upward, and then pointing to the pokeball, "it's safe in here, and I can easily carry you outside in it." The suggestion made, he held out the pokeball. All the pokemon had to do was touch the front, and he'd be inside. His own blue eyes met the eyes of the pokemon, and he tried a smile of reassurance. Smiling wasn't something he did often, really. Not unless he was really enjoying something. This was not in the game plan, but he'd do what it took to get the girafarig out of here and into the open air again. Now, it was him hoping it understood him.

WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthGirafarig blinked down at the Pokeball innocently. He recognized the sphere of course, as most Pokemon did most likely. Most humans carried them, and the spheres in turn, carried Pokemon, of all sorts. He had been hoping that the boy was reaching for that pouch full of deliciousness at that belt. The Pokeball... he wasn't so sure about. The second head's mouth had actually stopped chewing, so conflicted were the thoughts of the larger brain that they muffled everything else.
The human had fed him. And Girafarig had no idea where his home was outside of these human tunnels. It could be a very long time before he found his way back. But did he want to? "Faaaaaarig," The half Psychic's noise of confusion echoed through the tight spaces, and his long neck bent once more so he could better see the offered capsule. First through one eye, then his head turned so he could peer at it through the other, as if he could see his reflection, even in the dark.
He... wouldn't mind following this human. For a while at least. A flash of purple drew his gaze away from the Pokeball, and he looked passed the boy's head, right into the large, red eyes of another Pokemon. His knees weakened as his brain fogged and his his eyes grew heavy, and stumbled back from the human, fighting the command to sleep. They were under attack, and he hoped the human would protect him until he could return the favor.
~~~~~~~~~~ WILD GASTLY APPEARED! [/style] Gastly || Female || Levitate || Ghost / Poison || Level 10 Hypnosis || Lick || Spite || Mean LookHumans! They were so annoying sometimes, them and their total disregard for manners and property. She never haunted any of their homes did she?! And as a Ghost, it was completely within her right to do so! Expected even! Well this was her territory! Only those she allowed inside were, allowed inside. Worst of all about though, this most recent human had come upon the Girafarig she'd spent hours Hypnotising from the forests outside the city, all the way into the deeper tunnels. And the human was HELPING it! That silly long-necked creature she couldn't resist pranking.
It wouldn't have been so bad, if the haughty looking human had started a fight like most other Trainers would have. Watching Girafarig stumble around in the dark and get in fights was half the fun of luring other Pokemon down here. The other half involved her leaping out of every dark corner until they were crying, slobbering messes on the floor. Instead the human fed it, and calmed it! That just... just... it was so irritating! Completely invisible, several feet and above the human and Girafarig, empty space seemed to emit a faint 'humph' sound.
This wouldn't do. It was time to clean house!
Dropping away from the ceiling, Gastly became visible and her eyes began to glow furious red as gasses flared angrily around her body. The Girafarig had proven remarkably susceptable to HYPNOTISE before, so she didn't see why one look in her glowing eyes wouldn't put it right back out. That left the human... Gastly's mouth opened impossibly wide and a long red tongue lolled out as she speed up, aiming for a spot on the back of his head. If he didn't turn and dodge, her LICK coud paralyze him and make it easy to get him out of her tunnels. "Gaaaastly."
OOC: Alright, Gastly attack! Girafarig is still mine to control for now, as there has not been enough interaction for his capture. And mixing their stories was kind of fun. I like being able to do that.
You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
The girafarig looked a bit unsure about whether or not it was interested in coming along in a pokeball. He didn't mind it inspecting, nor giving it time to think the matter over. He didn't blame it--he would have done the same thing in the pokemon's position. Still, he would make good on his offer, and get him out of here. That much was certain. What happened after that, who knew?
The only warning he got at all was girafarig. Suddenly the pokemon was swaying on its feet, and if he hadn't moved quickly to try and steady it, the gastly's attack would have gotten him full on. Only he had moved, and tried to steady the pokemon. What had--oh. He spotted the gastly, and tried to think quickly. The moves it had could be disastrous in any situation. In this one? Worse than. Girafarig should have the advantage, right? It was a psychic pokemon. Yet it was unsteady, and looked like it was up to him.
He didn't have to think long. His mind went into a more strategical mode, and he used Foresight. He was a steel and fighting type, and he wanted this gastly to be able to be hit by all his moves. The only one that would not, would be ground type moves. Those wouldn't hit any pokemon with levitate. He was pretty sure garafarig was close enough now to the tunnel wall to lean on that if need be. He had to make his own moves if he hoped to protect the both of them. From here he could used a ranged attack and then dodge quickly if the pokemon tried anything funny. Hypnosis was dangerous, though. He didn't want to fall asleep here! What do do about that troublesome problem? He'd have to be quick on his feet, and quick with his mind!
He raised a hand and a beam of dark energy shot at the gastly in a Dark Pulse attack. Gastly was weak against dark type moves, and psychic types. Already, a plan was formulating for his next plan of attack and defense. This was between him and gastly until , or if, garafarig decided to join in. He didn't know which moves the pokemon had. But he hoped to Arceus they were psychic. That would give them another advantage on top of the ones he was trying to work with. Whatever happened, he couldn't fall asleep!
WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthGirafarig's upper head swam as his larger brain fought the urge to just close his eyes, sleep and allow all to fall away and be someone elses problem. The head on his tail went out immediately, and hung limp by his legs, releasing a faint, grumbling, snore. Before his legs collapsed beneath him, Girafarig found himself caught by the strong hands of the boy who'd fed him, and he was assisted sideways to the wall. The Pokemon was thankful, now he could dedicate all of his energy into fighting the Hypnotise instead of only that which he could spare while keeping himself upright.
"F-Faaar..." He'd shake it off soon hopefully, and help the boy fight back.
~~~~~~~~~~ WILD GASTLY APPEARED! [/style] Gastly || Female || Levitate || Ghost / Poison || Level 10 Hypnosis || Lick || Spite || Mean LookThe Girafarig was more or less down, Gastly had seen the Hypnotise start it swaying. It could have been better, but at least she'd managed to get the Pokemon out of the way for the immediate future. The human would be long gone by the time the silly two-headed Psychic wannabe awoke. Then she could begin the game again. A game she always won.
Gastly's gleeful smile stretched her mouth even further, and more of her ghostly tongue spilt out- and then she missed. The boy had moved at exactly the wrong time! "Gaaaass!" She slid right by his head and pulled her grossly extended tongue back in, her Lick attack having failed. She maybe should have suspected that. The boy had already fed her play toy, it made sense that he'd tried to stop the stupid beast from falling over under the effects of her Hypnotise. He had heart. Irritating.
Spinning back around in the air and pulling in her gasses, she attempted to hide herself away again for another sneak attack. If the human couldn't see her... but no! Instead of fading, she suddenly felt firmer than ever! More visible, than ever! A Foresight attack?! She normally ran on those rare occasions a Pokemon had that move, one that could take away her advantage. But she didn't see the Pokemon who had used it, peering around the tunnels very quickly. The human was smarter than she thought then... he'd kept his partner out of sight.
With an angry, very old-style Ghostly howl, Gastly turned glowing eyes on the human again, only partly so with rage. "Gaaaaastly, Gaastly," She hauntingly ordered him to sleep as she used her HYPNOTISE attack. A sudden spear of Dark-type energy that sprang from his raised hand cut the attack short, no doubt only allowing the slightest of wooziness to fill his mind if it took effect at all. The purple mists around her body vanished and she dropped like a rock out of the attack's way, but the power behind it still rattled her insubstantial form to the core, making her FLINCH. Shaken, she realized then that the male had no other partner. He wasn't completely human. Was the battle still worth it with one who had that kind of power?

You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
Kaz glanced over at girafarig. It wasn't going to be of any help just yet. It was still all on him. He shifted his stance, preparing himself for whatever would happen next.
It seemed that gastly was just then made aware of the fact it couldn't fade on out, and would now be more vulnerable than it was before. Well, that was fine by him. Because it seemed so surprised by his next attack that it hit dead on! He didn't have time to celebrate the small victory in that, though. Just a moment before he'd hit gastly, he'd felt the strangest of feelings. It was like a gentle tug, almost. It was there and then gone, and he feared that he'd almost been caught up in a hypnotize attack!
He might have hesitated when gastly paused, but he didn't--not after that near miss. Instead he took that chance to use a more tactical set of moves. First, he used Detect. He couldn't afford to be hit, and so he made sure that if the gastly attacked again? He wouldn't be. To make things more sure, he was about to attack with something of his own. Yet he decided, in that instant, to see what gastly would do next. If it didn't attack him, it would be fine. If it tried...well, it would backfire on it. It wouldn't get the chance. Not only would the attack fail, but it would be used against it at double the strength and double the effectiveness!
Me First was a nasty little move. But he was giving gastly a chance to think twice about attacking him. He was no weak human, here in the tunnels unprotected, relying only on a pokemon for battle. He stood at the ready, just in case. Even if he knew he could not be hit with lick or hypnotize, it wouldn't do to relax just yet. He glanced over at girafarig, and even stood closer to it. It might be out of it, but gastly still might resort to trying to attack it anyhow. He wouldn't let that happen. With girafarig's one side to the wall, and with himself in front of it, there was no way it could be attacked now.

WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthIt was fading. And Girafarig was angry. Just lying there, against the wall, utterly useless to assist the human. His blurred vision would barely make out the progress of the battle, but that would soon change. The Gastly's Hypnotise had been sloppily cast, and he had not only one mind, but two, fighting the influence. Girafarig's front leg shook slightly, hoof clacking against the ground.
Just a few... more... seconds...
~~~~~~~~~~ WILD GASTLY APPEARED! [/style] Gastly || Female || Levitate || Ghost / Poison || Level 10 Hypnosis || Lick || Spite || Mean Look [/size] [/center] If Gastly had a heart, real or metaphorical, it would have been fluttering as her confidence sank in the face of the not-human's power. Dark-type attacks were the last things she'd ever suspected by going on the offensive with a simple 'human' boy, without even a Pokemon to protect him. They would tear her apart if she wasn't careful. The game was only fun when she had the clear advantage, as she always had, and now the game wasn't evne her own. Worse yet... he hadn't even taken advantage of her reflexive Flinch away from the dangerously close passby of the Dark Pulse attack. He just... stood there, doing nothing that she could see as her eyes darted back and forth.
She was the Ghost! But his confidence in the battle was unnerving her. "Gaaaas..."
The click of hoof on stone drew her gaze to the side in a glance. Her former toy was taking back control of his own body. She was running out of time. She couldn't hide, but... maybe she could run. The fight wasn't going well enough for her to tough it out, and if she stayed, she could only lose. All she needed was a distraction. All she needed was for one Hypnotise attack to hit, and just enough to fog his mind, so she could slip around the corner. Try. She had to try.
Clearly the 'human' wasn't going to make the first attack, and as much as she hated it, she pushed her fear aside and narrowed her eyes in a glare as red spread across them. A full powered HYPNOTISE attack was the opening move. The attack still going strong, she rushed him, tongue again unfurling so she could administer a paralyzing LICK that would hopefully slow him further while she vanished around the corner behind him.
OOC: Dear god this was hard to write at first considering there was no actual attack, but the muse eventually kicked in.
You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
As expected, his prior moves completely deflected whatever Gastly attempted to do to him. Hypnotize didn't touch him, completely deflected by Detect. Yet what was far nicer was when Gastly tried to use Lick on him. Backfire!
The move was instead unable to work on him, and he used Lick on Gastly instead. He hadn't been sure what would happen, but this worked. Lick had a chance of paralysis. He already had his next moves prepared. He wasn't going to allow this to go on much longer, he had to protect Girafarig and himself from this pesky ghost. He hated the move Hypnotize. Moves like that were great to possess, and lousy to have used against you. He was hoping to get this Gastly down for the count before it had a chance to affect him with something like that. He debated using Detect again, but decided to play his moves differently this go around.
Now that Gastly could be hit by fighting moves, his hand glowed golden and red, and he flung a never-missing Aura Sphere at the Gastly. Then, he noticed it trying to go behind him, and quickly turned, hoping to slam it into the wall before it had a chance to completely hide behind the corner, using Extreme Speed. He moved so fast he appeared to materialize next to the Gastly rather than actually move. In either way, whether he hit it or not, he took a leap backwards, preparing his next move plan. He glanced behind his shoulder, wondering how Girafarig was faring. Hopefully well enough...
WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthThere, there! The wooziness was fading and Girafarig's senses were coming back to him. The sounds of battle were becoming clearer, and his vision was unblurring. At the end of his tail, he could feel his second head coming to as well, and he gave it a flick that snapped it almost fully awake. It began to chew as it tried to figure out what had happened, as always, a few steps behind the primary head and brain.
"Giraaaafarig," The dual-type Pokemon murmured softly against the wall, and shifted as little as possible so as to not draw attention to himself. He didn't want the Ghost to hit him with another Hypnotise, and he still wanted to help the kind young human that was fighting to protect them. And... he even had an idea as to how. He just needed to wait for the right moment...
It was a strange part of the battle that he had awoken to, and it took all the willpower he had not to chortle at the Ghost that had found itself outmatched and attacked with one of its own moves, but he recognized the moment when it came. The Gastly had just darted around from the human and was making an escape when Girafarig's new human friend flung a glowing sphere at it and then vanished in a super-fast attack that his eyes could barely keep up with.
The moment Gastly attempted to dip below the blurring human is the moment Girafarig struck. His eyes glimmered with pale blue light, and he gripped Gastly in a moderatly powerful, somewhat unfocused CONFUSION attack. The lingering cobwebs of Hypnotise still clung to his mind, so he couldn't give it the violent shake he wanted to, but he could definitly keep it still and squeezed while the human did his work. As soon as Gastly's gasses went out, the glow of his eyes faded, and he pushed himself off the wall carefully.
~~~~~~~~~~ WILD GASTLY APPEARED! [/style] Gastly || Female || Levitate || Ghost / Poison || Level 10 Hypnosis || Lick || Spite || Mean Look [/size] [/center] No effect, NO EFFECT! But it was too late to turn back, Hypnotise or not. Gastly had dedicated herself to her two-step escape plan and it wasn't possible to pull out by the time she realized that the invader of her tunnels hadn't been affected in the slightest. So she zoomed forward, mouth opened for her Lick... and was Pre-emptively Licked, herself!
Shocked and painfully stricken by one of her very own moves, Gastly stalled in midair and fell toward the ground, her surrounding mists going out like a blown candle flame. "Gaaaaasss..." She'd been Licked. By a HUMAN! It was her move! One she had great fun using against Pokemon she drew in or who wandered into her territory on their own. Yes. It was most definitely a low point in her un-life, that moment was.
Thankfully, the shock wore off before she hit the ground, and her gasses flared back around her as she caught herself just and inch below the tunnel path and zipped forward again, around and away from the strange human boy who'd just violated her with his tongue. She was free! She would never go near this one again!
WHAM! A rarely felt physical force slammed into her, sending the normally incorporeal Ghost spinning away toward a wall with a cry. Before she could hit, a powerful invisible hand that burned with Psychic energy enveloped her, keeping her in place, and she could only watch helplessly and regret as the would-be victim seemed to move several yards in the blink of an eye and bashed her.
The irony of her final thoughts being about the unfairness of the fight were lost on her as her smokey form went out and she tumbled toward the ground.
GASTLY IS AVALIABLE FOR CAPTURE!!!
OOC: Let's put this poor thing out of it's misery. :)

Kaz was quite pleased to see girafarig come to. It certainly did so at the right time, aiding him at the perfect moment in his attack! The gastly was done for, and he was not slow to retrieve a pokeball and capture her inside it. Once that was done, he turned to the girafarig, meaning to check to see if it had fully recovered--and to thank it.
"You all right now?" he asked it, putting gastly's pokeball at his side. Technically it was his first capture, and he couldn't complain. For a while, he had seriously been worried. Worried, because she had not one, but two attacks that could have left both him and girafarig in a bad spot. Hypnotize and Lick, two moves that could cause sleep or paralysis, respectively. If one of those had caused it, which it had a fair chance of doing, he would have not been so successful. After all, girafarig had been caught unawares from the get go.
"Nice job there. Thanks for the help," he told it, not thinking much of reaching out and giving it a friendly pat on the lower neck. It was a good pokemon, girafarig. Psychic types were powerful and smart. He found it amusing, nonetheless, that girafarig had not one, but two heads. How much did the smaller one help it? It was useful, to be able to see from both ends. Girafarig was gifted in more than one way. They had been in the midst of him pondering getting it safely into a pokeball so they could travel along the tunnels until they were out. Still, he didn't mind keeping it by his side until it made up its mind what it wanted to do. He did, however, remove the same pokeball, and asked, "did you want to go in here now? We could travel towards the exit, but we might run into more pokemon on the way. You'd be safer in here, to be honest, but that's up to you. I can fend for myself but having your help might make it easier," he admitted. Not that he felt he couldn't do it on his own. But having girafarig pull that last move had showed him the advantages...it had useful moves too.

WILD GIRAFARIG APPEARED! [/style] Girafarig || Male || Sap Sipper || Normal / Psychic || Level 9 Power Swap || Guard Swap || Astonish || Tackle || Growl || Confusion || Odor SleuthThere was a certain, uncommonly vicious glee that swept through Girafarig at the sight of the Gastly being beaten down and captured, and the long-necked Pokemon's hind head seemed to agree, signifying so with a particularly loud snap of his jaws. The human's voice drew his eyes from the spot of the Gastly's capture, and Girafarig offered the shorter form a gentle gaze and dip of his head. "Faarig." He was okay now, more than okay, and incredibly thankful for the Trainer and the assistance he'd provided.
Girafarig shivered beneath the human's hand as part of his body had begun to ache after so long leaning helplessly against the wall. The Pokeball was taken out again, and Girafarig pulled his head away to give it a wider, more careful look. The human had offered before, hadn't he. And now there was more than just a faint desire to follow the Trainer at his side. The Trainer had saved him from the Gastly, and fought well against it. He'd proven to be brave, and kind, and intelligent. And he had treats. That was definitely a plus, no matter which head one might ask.
There of course was also the Gastly to think about. Girafarig was a peaceful Pokemon... but there was that small part in the back of his mind that wanted to get a fair rematch in the future. Should he share the human's presence with the Ghost, that was very possible... All Gastly needed to do was step out of line once, and he could do something. No sneak attacks next time. It would be a fair fight.
Girafarig stared down at the small capsule, and at last, nodded deeply in agreement. "Giraaafarig, faaaaarig," He crooned, and lightly shifted on his feet, hooves echoing softly in the dark. He could do worse with human companions. Girafarig turned his nod into a bend, and a pink nose touched the Pokeball gently as the surface fogged beneath the Pokemon's breathe. "Faaaar."

You're so cold, but you feel alive SATISFIED AND EMPTY INSIDE [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
Girafarig seemed willing to come along, and Kaz couldn't have been more pleased with that. A psychic type was a good type, in his mind. They had already proved to be an effective team, and he was quite certain that that would prove true again. He couldn't say where the future might see them, but if it was any telling by this, they'd both end up somewhere beneficial. He lightly met girafarig's nose with the pokeball, and in it went!
He took a moment to assess his situation. Now that he had gastly and girafarig, he had a few pokeballs left. It had been a great battle and he was by no means harmed much for it--thankfully. He could continue on, with garafarig as a backup if things proved ugly. He had enough confidence in his own skills in battle. That gastly had noticed and been right about. He had a lot of moves he could utilize and knew how to use them to his advantage. He wanted to see what other kinds of pokemon lurked down here. So, he decided to allow girafarig and gastly to relax, while he traversed the tunnels. He might come across an exit, and decide from there what to do.
The tunnel wasn't pitch black, because it was lit by lights all underground, along the walls. People must have come down here to work, after all. Some of them flickered or needed to be replaced, though. He noticed places where sunlight filtered through closed grills, too. He stopped beneath one of these grills, soaking in the sunlight for a moment. It was a good place to just take in his current surroundings. The tunnel branched off to the left, and to the right. He had his options. At this crossroads of sorts, he paused to think. He didn't have a map, and yet this place had enough exits that he didn't fear getting lost. Plus he had been paying acute attention to his route so far. He could backtrack if need be.
He decided to wait when he thought he heard something coming from one of the two branching tunnels. A pokemon, or a person? He couldn't tell, but he thought that if it was a pokemon, he was in a great place for battle. So he waited patiently, watching for sight of anything that approached.
