Notes;; Let's get this party started [/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]To say he was unamused was an understatement... a major one. While it was his idea to play with the people of Aether and spread these false love letters around, observing their reactions and actions during this night, he hadn't arranged one to be sent to himself. He swore to god, when he found the one who thought it'd be funny to give him one, he'd torch them.
In fact... Oliver had full intentions of not even showing up this night, but Wilhelm urged him to come out. If he didn't have an ounce of respect for the man, he would have refused. But Wil was the man who saved him as a child... leaving him as the most respected person in Oli's life - he had to listen.
And that left Oliver rather bitter.
With an extremely hesitant agreement to the older man, Oliver had cleaned himself up from his daily activities and left to the spot his letter had written on it, knowing very well how they worked. In all honesty though, he had no idea who would show up... or what gender they would be. He did know, however, that they would, more likely than not, annoy the living hell out of him.
And so he found himself in the park, leaning against a tree next to the walkway, his figure dimly lit by the paper lanterns above as he looked out over the city lights with the new intention of telling his "date" to fuck off, and be on his way.
He had no remorse for how this would make the other being feel. In fact, he was rather hoping it may stir up an interesting reaction - even an attack out of anger would please him. Of course, he had no clue that his idea would probably die off in his mind at who his partner for the night would be...
Perhaps instead of telling them to fuck off... he could attempt to manipulate them. But that thought had yet to reach his mind.[/style] |

Mostly, it was curiosity. Someone who was brave enough to write a letter like that...he certainly deserved to not be left standing at that location alone. Or she? She had thought of that possibility. She had thought of everything, in fact. Gone over it and analyzed it one hundred different ways, trying to decide what to do. Who might have sent it? She knew a lot of people, true. Yet she hadn't noticed anyone in particular being more interested in her than the rest. She was usually pretty good at telling who had a crush on her by now. A few did, but was it any of them? None of them seemed so bold. There was a nerdy sort of guy that stared at her and then stumbled over his words whenever she tried to converse in a friendly, platonic manner with him. What if it was him? Erik was not someone she really could ever feel anything for other than maybe friendship. Even then, he could hardly get two words out around her...never mind something this brazen.
Her feet seemed to move of their own accord, one after the other. What if it was someone she didn't know? Or some sort of trick? It was Valentine's day today...would anyone be so mean? It had been extremely well worded and written. Like poetry, really. She pulled the letter out of her back pocket, where it had been folded neatly in a square, and unfolded it, reading over it again. Secret admirer...it was definitely secret from her.
"Veee!" Eevee bounded up to her, placing his front paws on her leg. She bent down to scoop him up, after refolding the letter for what seemed the hundredth time and pocketing it once more. She had decided to bring her first and only pokemon along. What if it was some creepy guy? She could defend herself, it was true...but she hated to go that route. What if he had super strong pokemon? Maybe it was a bad idea to have brought her little friend along. But there was no turning back now. Curiosity had won out, and she was almost there, besides...
She entered the park, lit by lanterns and looking lovely at this time of day. She reminded herself to just breathe in and out, and try to be calm, no matter what awaited her. Or who. She had no idea what to expect by now. She clutched her pokemon a little tighter, her heart beginning to beat a little more quickly. She wasn't usually nervous. Why was she now? There was no reason to be, was there?
She stepped along lightly, her short skirt blowing gently in the breeze, and glad for the warmer evening. Then she saw a figure. It was definitely male, and she couldn't quite make him out. He stood under a tree, leaning against it. From what she could see, he was not fat nor short or anything like that. She made herself relax, and tentatively kept walking. Now she could see him better, and Arceus if that was him, he wasn't at all what she expected!
He was not a nerd. Not a nerd, and not some unattractive, shy looking younger guy. Was that even him? She looked around her, but there was no one else there. Just her, and then him; whoever he was. She swallowed nervously, inhaling sharply. Suddenly her courage was failing her, in a way that was altogether unfamiliar. But she had come here, and if that was him...
"Um, hello?" She was now standing a few feet away, resting lightly on her feet, in case this more than handsome stranger was really some insane or creepy guy. She thought he looked to be in his early twenties. He had an eye patch, which she found a little questionable, but other than that he was like some model in a magazine. Not that she was not considered pretty herself. She knew that, but she wasn't one of those arrogant, conceited girls who gave it too much thought. She'd showered and put on a very nice outfit, and though she wasn't much one for make up she had just a little on today. As always, she wore her sister's necklace. It went with everything, and she was grateful for that.
"I...um..." She put eevee down on the ground, and reached for the letter in her back pocket. She was nervous but she was doing her best not to let that show. Not what she expected. She held out the letter to him, still folded, and asked, "did you...write this?"
There, it was out. The worst that could happen is he could say no, right? But if he had, then he wouldn't even need to unfold it, now would he? He'd know? But how could it be him? She'd never even seen him before. Creepy stalker guy? Those did exist. But he was attractive, and she was sure she would have noticed someone like him. This was all just so weird! Eevee was beside her, and that gave her a little more confidence. She was usually a confident person, anyhow. Usually... [/style]

Notes;; Try ta play nice~ [/style][style= padding: 10px; margin-left: 110px; font-size: 12px; font-family: century gothic; color: #000000; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Admittedly... Oliver had been waiting there a bit longer than he had expected, and he was beginning to grow bored. The blue-haired man was the type who you did not want to grow bored… because then he would decide it was time for some fun – his definition of fun was dangerous – his devices rather devious and often sadistic. And you shouldn’t leave Oliver to his own devices – someone you know and possibly love will disappear.
In fact… there was a whole carnival he could walk around and mess with before him, it would be no problem finding easy targets. Pulling from his side a pokeball, he released a young, oddly colored Axew, the pokemon yawning as he appeared before Oliver before looking at his trainer with question. ”Xew?” Scooting to the man’s side, he pulled at his pant leg, demanding to be picked up, which the boy did so… reluctantly as he answered the dragon, ”Let’s go find something to mess up, hm?”
Beginning to turn away, he paused, catching movement from the corner of his eye. Oh, what’s this… was this his “date”? Perfect… now he could end this quickly and be on his way.
But as the person walked closer, he cocked an eyebrow and turned back to face her, hands buried deep in the pockets of his jacket. She was… interesting, to say the least. Together with her Eevee, and the way she spoke, he pinned her to be someone he could at least to attempt to manipulate easily. And while he had no previous intention of staying, and the thought irritated him somewhat… he figured he could actually pull some fun from this.
With her question lingering in the air, Oliver tilted his head away as he shrugged, a sly smirk finding its way onto his lips. ”I guess you could say that…” While he hadn’t written it alone… or picked the words, it was his, in every other way.
For a moment, Oliver considered waving his own letter in the air… but that would be bad for business. If she believed it was he who wrote the letter and passed it off to him, it would be easier to get close to her… and easier to worm his lies into her head. Looking back to her, he continued, ”Tell me… what was it that brought you here? Curiosity…? Or the hopes of finding love on this Valentine’s night?” This question was very important… her answer would tell him quite a bit of useful information on how to approach this situation. [/style] |

Even so, she was not some stupid prat of a girl. She was wary about this, as she had never seen this person before. She didn't recognize him, so how did he know her? She noticed he had a pokemon with him, too. Was that an Axew? She felt the nervous 'ba-dump' of her heart, as she realized that he might have more pokemon. She only had eevee...and herself. Eevee had no training yet. It knew a couple moves at most. She might have to flee or fight if this turned out to be some creepy stalker.
Still, he confirmed that he was the person who'd written the letter, and her feelings were more conflicted. How could he write something like that, if he didn't really even know her? She'd have definitely remembered someone like him. He was attractive, and there was a very strong and forceful feeling about him. Being a psychic gijinka she was a bit more in tune with others than most. She was intrigued, but she was wary, too. There was something about the way he stood, and the way he replied. Her mind wanted to think he was somehow...dangerous. Was she being paranoid? She didn't want to be paranoid, it was silly.
She pursed her lips, and took a step closer, offering the letter to him. Even as she did so, he asked her a question. Love? With someone she hardly knew? She wasn't that silly. Love wasn't something that just occurred like that. Love, for her, should come with getting to know a person and to like them for who they were. She didn't know him at all. She hadn't come for that, no.
"I was curious," she answered honestly, "I don't think I've ever seen you before," she added, and then, thoughtfully, "I'm sure I'd have remembered if I had." He might take that to mean she found him attractive. But she had tried to keep that suggestion from her voice. There were plenty of things that made him stand out besides his physical attractiveness. The eye patch, for one. There were clearly scars under it. How had it happened? She wasn't sure, but that wasn't something you asked someone you'd only just met. Besides, it didn't bother her like it might some girls. It was merely...curious.
Eevee stood by his partner's side, tilting his head a little to observe the axew with the man his partner was speaking to. He was aware she was a bit nervous. He wouldn't let anything bad happen to her, though. Not if he could help it. He'd fight if he had to. Still, nothing was happening that worried him. The man was talking. His trainer was talking. That was fine, for now. Besides, he had never seen an axew. He was curious, too. [/style]
