WILD PHANPY APPEARED! [/style] phanpy || male || sand veil || ground || level 7 odor sleught || tackle || growl || defense curl || flailPhanpy felt a certain pride as his attack connected, and he watched in amusement as the human was talking ot the Chikorita. Oh, this game is fun!
The Growl lowered his attack again, and he shook his head in slight frustration. The Chikorita's attack hit him right on the forehead and he stumbled back from the force a bit. He didn't expect the little grass type to be that strong, so he was surprised too. During her previous attack, he was protecting himself, but with this one, he knew that the Chikorita was a good playing partner.
"Phaaan, phan!" Phanpy raised his trunk, acknowledging the Chikorita despite her young age. Worthy playing partner indeed. He let out a Growl, and started cirkling the Chikorita a bit, then running faster in a circle before suddenly changing his direction and rushing at her again with another Tackle.

Chikorita was having fun with this. It was a battle but her battle partner and her were both in good spirits and wanting to test themselves. She knew he meant to attack again, and gave a little shiver as his Growl attack lowered her defense a little. Then he started circling her. She did not circle with him. She didn't want to get dizzy! But she was waiting for his attack, and she knew it would come. In the meantime, she let a Growl attack out. Now was as good a time as any, just before he sped up. She knew she would attack him again right back, and was wanting to make it a quick one.
Come it did, and she was ready for it. It was clever and he was fast, but she had been fully prepared. Her legs were tense under her as she watched him, and when he came at her, she leaped over him, landing behind him and thus evading--for this time, anyhow. She didn't hesitate to attack while she was behind him, launching into a Tackle of her own. She wished she had more moves, and was strong enough to use them! But every battle made a pokemon stronger, she was no exception.
"Chikorita, stay strong!" Serenity called to her. She didn't have time to look behind her but gave a little nod, knowing her trainer would see. She would be strong. She could do this, she knew she could! Serenity had confidence in her pokemon partner. Still, she was rooting for her and really wanted her to win this. It would be good for the grass type to gain some experience either way. But with a win would come some confidence, hopefully. That would be good for both of them.
Chikorita didn't know what Phanphy would do next, but she wanted to try and be ready for anything. She wanted to make Serenity see she'd made the right choice, picking her for a partner over the other pokemon. She knew that a first battle was a good chance to show that, and she felt fortunate that she at least had a good opponent, not some weaker pokemon that wouldn't battle well--or one that she was weak against and would have a worse chance against. Not that this would have stopped her. Just hindered her. Phanphy was a good pokemon to battle.

WILD PHANPY APPEARED! [/style] phanpy || male || sand veil || ground || level 7 odor sleught || tackle || growl || defense curl || flailPhanpy didn’t get discouraged as his attack was evaded. It was always more exciting when the opponent was fighting back and actually moving away from time to time, since the trees and rocks he usually played with weren’t like that. So when the Chikorita jumped over him, Phanpy also leaped into the air from the buoyancy of his Tackle and whirled around, landing to face the Chikorita right away.
The attack hit him right as he landed, so there was no way for him to evade it. He rolled back from the force, away from the other pokemon, but stood up not much later. Moving his trunk around he used Odor Sleught to make sure to sniff out the Chikorita’s whereabouts, so it would be harder for her to evade him. This time, he rushed right at her with another Tackle, making sure to pay close attention to her scent in case she would attempt to evade him again.

This time, Chikorita couldn't miss the well aimed attack. Phanphy surprised her with how accurate he was. She was trying to turn to dodge when he hit her from behind, connecting solidly and causing her to skid forwards in the grass on her face, sliding so that she gave a displeased cry as she did so. She stood up right quick enough though, and her front was a little greener from the grass staining her already green fur. She looked down, and then glared at phanphy. She had a stain on her pretty fur! That was not nice.
She planted her feet, and shot yet another Growl at him. He wasn't going to get away with making her pretty fur all stained with grass and dirty with dirt! She suddenly realized there was a piece of grass in her mouth, and spat it out to the side with a little 'pah!' sound. This was a good battle, but she intended to take it a bit more seriously. She could get Serenity to clean her fur...but the grass stain was not going to come out easily.
Serenity cringed a little as she watched her partner go skidding forward on her front end. That looked unpleasant! She put a hand to her mouth below her lower lip, and watched to see what would happen next. Much to her relief, her partner got up again. But Chikorita didn't look happy. She could understand why--there was a rather notable grass stain on her chest. She didn't know whether to feel bad or giggle.
Chikorita didn't wasted time. She zig zagged back and forth, leaping from side to side, and then leaped over him and attempted to slam him with a Tackle in his backside. Turn about was fair play, yes? She then leaped away, in front of a larger rock. She was going to win this battle, and phanphy would think twice about knocking her on her front and staining her pretty fur!

WILD PHANPY APPEARED! [/style] phanpy || male || sand veil || ground || level 7 odor sleught || tackle || growl || defense curl || flail"Phan phan phan phan!" Phanpy laughed as the Chikorita fell on the ground and attained her first "battle scar" in the form of a grass stain on her fur. Little one will have to get used to getting dirty during fights sooner or later, better to make her learn that the hard way. In any case, Phanpy was having fun, at least!
Chikorita’s attack hit him right on his backside, making him skid forward and sprawl out on the ground. Ouch, that hurt more than it should have! Little one started to get serious, so it seemed, so Phanpy had to pay more attention too. Getting back on his feet and turning to the Chikorita, Phanpy let out a Growl as well before curling into a ball and going in for another Tackle attack right at her, without noticing she positioned herself in front of a rock...

Don't wanna watch it all go by so I'm gonna fly HIGHER THAN I EVER COULD [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true]
Chikorita shook her head, feeling the effects of phanphy's Growl set in. One thing she knew for sure...it wasn't good to keep having it used on her. Still, she kept up with using it herself. Phanphy was headed straight for her, so she had to act quickly for her plan to work! She used one Growl, and then yet another Growl, waiting, just waiting. She stood there, acting as though the tackle would hit her full on. She had weakened phanphy's defenses a lot and she was depending on her little trick working. Just as phanphy would have hit her head on, she leaped up onto the rock, leaving nothing but the rock for phanphy to 'tackle' headlong into!
She was hoping he would hit it, and knock himself silly! She wasn't sure if he would one hundred percent, but she was certainly hoping. She wasn't the only one hoping for it, either! Serenity watched the battle, cringing every now and then when an attack hit, and secretly hoping that her little grass type would win and gain some experience by it.
Chikorita had risked not using a move of her own to attack in hopes that phanphy would have its own move used against it. It was a bet she was willing to take and was planning to leap down from the rock in her own attack if it didn't work. She was using the terrain to her advantage, just like phanphy had with the tree. She was learning, and that wasn't lost on the green pokemon.

WILD PHANPY APPEARED! [/style] phanpy || male || sand veil || ground || level 7 odor sleught || tackle || growl || defense curl || flailPhanpy didn’t pay attention to his surroundings, and now he had to pay for his own inconsistence, as the Chikorita had tricked him into hitting the rock ahead. Phanpy was attacking with a rather big buoyancy, so there was no way he could have stopped himself before the collision, and the force he met with the rock was enough to make him see stars.
Faltering in his movements, Phanpy swayed as the world blacked out in front of him, but the colors came back quickly after that. Blinking a few times he was able to steady himself, but it didn’t take long. As he looked up at the Chikorita perched on top of the rock, the trees of the park swirled around and his legs gave way under him. Phanpy sprawled out on his stomach.
PHANPY FAINTED! PHANPY IS AVAILABLE FOR CAPTURE!
CHIKORITA GAINED TWO LEVELS!
WILD CATERPIE APPEARED! [/style] caterpie || male || shield dust || bug || level 6 tackle || string shotThe battle didn’t go without an audience between the Phanpy and Chikorita. On a nearby tree, A little green bug was watching curiously how the battle between the wild pokemon and the trainee would go. He didn’t root for anyone, but he always found it exciting to watch pokemon battles going on, maybe because he himself was always considered so weak compared to others. In the end, he was just a Caterpie, a small bug that usually no one paid attention to, and due to that, he wasn’t about to get stronger either... Though he knew it would be so wonderful to be a beautiful butterfly and fly around nature! Dreams will have to stay dreams.
"Pri, priiiii!" As he saw the Phanpy faint and fall to the ground, Caterpie chirped in awe upon the victory of the grass type. He always cheered on the winning side, and if Phanpy would be awake, Caterpie would congratulate on his wonderful performance too. He noticed only late that his voice would pick the attention of the human and the Chicorita, and he flattened against the tree branch, hoping to blend into the leaves that surrounded him. He was still pretty visible though, and he wasn’t as high up for a human to not to notice him. Owie, will they hurt him?
OOC: Just to make it easier for the mods to check, could you place the tracker links in the characters' siggy after a while? It would help a lot with the pokemon levels, though I know it's a lot of work with that many characters.

Phanphy had fought bravely too, and since she knew she needd more pokemon, and it was fainted, she gingerly stepped carefully over a patch of flowers and tapped him with her pokeball. She had deerling, and phanphy. Chikorita too. She wondered what else she'd find, but didn't have to wonder long.
Some bug pokemon were super scary. She was sure that some of them would make her run away, fearful as she was. But when she looked up to where a little cheer seemed to rise, she spotted something that brightened her day substantially. It was not the pokemon itself so much as what she knew it evolved into. The one bug pokemon that she delighted in every time she saw. The one she would never let go, and certainly keep among her team if she had the good fortune to capture one. Caterpie, who turned into butterfree! She smiled, her face lighting up, green eyes on the green pokemon. Even Caterpie was kind of cute, knowing what it turned into. Metapod was kind of creepy. Still, it had to be metapod before it could be a beautiful butterfree!
Chikorita looked up too, pleased to have heard that kind of congratulations. She might have grass stains on its fur, but she had fought and won its first battle!
"Chi-Chikaaa!" She hadn't known anyone was watching, but phanphy was tough, and her trainer was going to help her be even tougher! She would be strong and evolve into meganium someday. That was a good reason to battle, in her mind. Did caterpie have a human trainer too? She didn't see them.
"Hello there, caterpie!" Serenity greeted it cheerily. Maybe it wanted to come with them, like deerling. Or maybe, chikorita and it would battle--even though she knew bug types were good against grass. Still, it was largely dependent on which moves caterpie knew. It might be very few, like chikorita. "You don't have to hide, you know," she told it, motioning it to come out. It didn't have to be scared of them. They weren't going to hurt it.
Chikorita hopped down off of the rock, and then concentrated a moment. Yes, she felt a little different. And bolder. She eyed the rock, and then swung her head forward. From her head leaf, shot hard, razor sharp leaves. They left visible scratches and little chips taken out of the rock. She was delighted! She had no thought to be able to do that before! She was so proud!
"Oh!" Serenity exclaimed, also equally surprised. She knew pokemon acquired new moves from battling, but seeing it was another thing. She beamed at the happy looking little grass type. "That's very well done, Chikorita!" She looked over at caterpie again, though.
"Chika!" I learned this from my battle, see how neat it is? When I'm meganium I'll know lots and lots of moves. She was not shy about her excitement, that was for certain. She knew caterpie were later butterfree. She was kind of envious they could fly when they evolved. But she didn't mind so much. She was happy to be what she was.
"Chi?" she asked. Are you excited to be a butterfree, caterpie? She thought evolving was wonderful. Some pokemon were happy to be as they were. Not her! Pokemon with trainers should be strong, and evolve, and she couldn't wait! She couldn't see why caterpie would want to stay a little thing, and not have pretty wings. [/style]

[/justify] WILD CATERPIE APPEARED! [/style] caterpie || male || shield dust || bug || level 6 tackle || string shot"Pri, priii!" He was glad the pair didn’t seem vicious or about to attack him, so he cheered the Chikorita again, congratulating another time for her victory. It was a nice battle, and he couldn’t help but encourage the other pokemon. Instead of hiding against the tree, he positioned himself so he was looking down at the human and the pokemon, his tail hanging from the other end of the branch.
He also chirped back in greeting to the human. There was no reason to be unfriendly, so he thought being polite as well wouldn’t hurt. He watched with interest as Chikorita scratched the rock with her Razor Leaves, and applauded – well, mentally, having no hands – again. The grass type was impressive, especially with the experience she gained from the fight.
"Pi-pi, cater-pie!" Yes, I can’t wait to be one! Flying high as a butterfly will be wonderful! Of course he wanted that too, and luckily, he didn’t need to wait too long either. His kind was evolving quickly, that is also why there were so many Butterfrees around most of the time. It wasn’t unusual for them to simply evolve in the wild, but under a trainer, it was even quicker.
"Pi! Caterpie, pi?" How is it to train with a human? Is it tiring? He was always wondering about that, whether being with a human was inconvenient, or better than being in the wild. He thought asking it wouldn’t hurt.

Chikorita seemed like the perfect choice. Adaptable and willing to either battle or be sociable with others of her kind if the situation called for it, she was a really well rounded pokemon! Of course Serenity couldn't understand the words but she surely understood the body language and tone in which things were expressed.
Chikorita grew a little hot under her fur at caterpie's cheers, though he couldn't see that. She shyly pawed at the ground a moment, and spotted the grass stain when she did. She fully intended to have Serenity help her with that after she was done conversing with caterpie. In the meantime, it couldn't be helped, so she was all right with simply going on with their meeting as she was.
She smiled and nodded, thinking it must be a wonderful thing to be able to fly. Still, she also wondered if she might be afraid being so high off of the ground, wings or no. It wasn't something she would know--or thought she wouldn't. Things like planes were not something she'd seen, or given thought to. As far as she was concerned, only pokemon with wings were capable of flight. She thought it equally interesting those who could breathe under the water and on land. Like gyarados and starmie, or horsea. Still, she was content enough being a four legged, ground dwelling kind of pokemon! She could swim well enough, besides, and maybe one day, they would have a member in their team that could carry her into the sky! That might be fun...if it wasn't too scary.
Caterpie's next question was a curious one, but she didn't hesitate in her answer.
"Chi-chika, chikaaa!" Tiring? Not in the least! Because she had Serenity she had someone to help her battle and grow stronger. She wasn't as fearful of being hurt or even killed by some stronger pokemon or cruel trainer. "Chi-chika, chi." Besides, because she had gotten a nice and caring trainer, she had no fear of one who would mistreat her or treat her poorly capturing her. Pokemon in the wild could never be sure what kind of person they'd end up with. If she could choose, she'd choose her trainer any day! She glanced over at Serenity, also proud. She meant that, of course. So far, her human had been amazing to her, and she was kinder than anyone the grass type had yet to meet.
Serenity noticed chikorita looking at her, and smiled, nodding politely to caterpie too, though she had no idea it was her her pokemon was talking about. Just that she was looking at her and perhaps she had said something that involved her in some way. She wished she could talk to caterpie too, but she didn't want to interrupt them! [/style]

WILD CATERPIE APPEARED! [/style] caterpie || male || shield dust || bug || level 6 tackle || string shotPerched comfortably on the branch, Caterpie was listening to Chikorita talk, looking from time to time at her trainer just to check her out too. Indeed, they seemed nice, and talking to them felt good too, even though the human didn't really understood them. At least he had a feeling she didn't understood them, since none of the humans did. Caterpie wasn't bothered by it, though, he had gotten used to that already.
"Pi, caterpie, piprii." Oh, so it's that kinda bond I keep hearing about. A bond between human and pokemon, that helps them grow stronger. But Caterpie wasn't really envious of that, or more likely, he had other things to be envious about. The Butterfrees, flying high in the sky, was what he was aiming for in his life. "Pi, cater pipie." True, a trainer can give safety too. So much different than in the wild, but nature can make someone learn the hardships too, in a different way than being with a human. Experience like that is important too, but that is why people train their pokemon to get better too.
He looked at the human again just when Chikorita did. "Pi caterpie, cater, caterpie." She seems like one of the nicer ones. I ahve seen some really natsy humans here before. Caterpie didn't like how some of the trainers were dealing with pokemon, and how much like slaves they worked them. He knew not all of the humans were like that, but when he saw the majority of them to be like that, he started to get wary and cautious.
