[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | Le Perturbé was his home, in every sense of the word. In the literal sense, he lived above the place, in a little apartment he called his own. In the metaphorical sense, it was the place in the world he felt safe. Yes, sometimes there were barfights, and people got into trouble, but it was still safe. He had Patin, his Audino, helping him out, carrying around a little tray of drinks. He was, in a lot of ways, the second employee of the bar. He worked just as hard as he did, serving drinks and simply being cute, easy to be around and calming. When things did get messy, Patin was the front line defense. The little pokemon didn't have too many moves just yet, but he did pack a mean thunderbolt, and was more then happy to use it on someone who tried to make trouble.
More importantly, there were always regulars willing to lend a hand. Le Perturbé was a sane place to be, and a safe place to be, and anyone who messed around with it inevitably got their asses kicked. Not by him, generally, because Marcel was neither a Gijinka, nor much of a fighter. Just Patin, and the locals. He was sort of looking into getting a proper bouncer. Sort of. He wasn't even sure if the budget could manage it, but he'd have to try anyway. It was getting more dangerous, after all.
Marcel was behind the counter for the moment, shining glasses in preparation for the late night rush.
(Please note that the drinking age, which is mostly enforced by Marcel, is 20. So, either be legal, or have an excuse. c: )

Normally, he didn't like coming to the city, but there were times and places where he would make an exception. One such time and place, would be now at the Le Perturbe, his favorite bar. It wasn't just the alcohol there that called to him, it was the atmosphere in general. With being a long time patron of it as well, he got to know the owner of the place. Marcel Chevalier, one of the few that he could get along with so well, and that worked in a place that he could visit whenever he wanted. Plus, he tended to help Marcel out from time to time as well, often just hanging out in the bar to act as a deterrent, so that others didn't cause trouble.
Of course, this time, he would have an additional traveling partner, the egg that he had managed to find along his travels. He wasn't quite sure what was in it, but he figured it was worth taking along. There didn't seem to be anything around to take care of it, so he would do it himself. Right now, he just needed a place to think, and one of the best place for that for him was the Perturbe. He was sure that Marcel would get a kick out of the fact that he was taking care of something.
Pushing open the door, he ducked down slightly to enter, "Yo, Marcel." Taking a seat on the bar, as he placed the egg on the counter, "How's things by you?"

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | There were regulars at any establishment, and any bartender worth his salt knew exactly who they were. That was part of the job, after all, identifying who came back and starting up a conversation, getting to know them, learning what they ordered and when. You kept the drinks flowing, and everything ended up better. You ended up with more money, the client ended up happier, and it was all good.
When his customers were happy, Marcel was happy. He gave Cade a grin when the tall man approached the bar. It wasn't hard to spot him - in fact, Marcel would have had to struggle to not notice him. Standing at seven feet even, Cade's presence commanded a room, and Marcel loved it. Sure, people might be willing to pick a fight with a laidback bartender who was under six feet, or might even pick a fight with his adorable little Audino running around, but when you had someone as imposing as Cade around, people tended to keep their arguments to themselves unless they were really dunk.
Eyeing the orange egg, Marcel reached under the counter, pouring Cade out a glass of his usual - a nice dark rum. "Pretty good. No trouble, which is always nice. How have you been?"

Relaxing on one of the stools, he looked over the egg a bit, still not exactly sure what to make of it. Was he really responsible enough to look after the egg? It was hard to tell, but he would give it a shot at least, he didn't want this egg to not hatch. With Marcel already behind the counter and getting him a glass of rum, he was all set for the moment. They would just need to wait for the usual night rush, with everyone off work, they'd be heading this way. With him here, there would at least be not much in the way of a rowdy crowd tonight. Which was good, cause he did at least want to talk with his friend here.
"It's been an interesting couple of days, I've recently found this egg on its own," it was strange to say the least. "I figure I'll take care of it for a bit and see what come of it," he couldn't leave things just on their own when they were helpless or defenseless. It was one of the bad traits that he had, or maybe the good ones. As compassion tended to work for and against him, from time to time.
"I just wish I knew what kind of egg this was for," he poked at it lightly, taking off his fur jacket to make a little 'nest' for it. At least it would be warm now.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | The little half of a story that Cade opted to share left Marcel's fingers tapping on the bar, considering. "Alone? Most eggs are pretty valuable these days, but it's entirely possible one got lost or abandoned or something." That was the best explanation he could offer, and he faintly wondered if, somewhere, someone was cursing their ass off for having lost a valuable egg.
As Cade made his little nest, Marcel peered at the egg, reaching out to lightly tap the side. "I dunno. It's pretty warm. That might mean it's close to hatching. By the colors... something fire type, maybe?" The egg was kind of - well, generic. The pattern on the egg Patin had come from had been pretty distinct, very obvious what it held. This one... less so.
"Could let a pokemon sit on it." He commented, glancing at Patin and giving a grin. The little pink pokemon was clearly not impressed, crossing his arms and giving a little pout. No way was he sitting on any egg like some common Chansey.

He nodded, keeping his eyes on the egg for a moment more, before turning his attention to his bartender friend. "Yeah, I was passin' by that electric plant, and this thing was just kinda sitting on the outskirts. I dunno if someone tried to make off with it and got caught by the guards or what, but, here it is," he poked at it gently. He was not really what one would call a parental figure, an awesome uncle figure? Hell yeah, he had that down pat like nobody's business, but actually raising something himself was new to him. He wondered just how this poor little pokemon would turn out with him behind that parenting wheel.
Watching Marcel tap it, he nodded lightly with what the man had to say, it seemed the most likely scenario. "I was thinking the same, I suppose the only way I can know for sure is if it hatches. Then, we get to see what poor little critter is stuck with the fate of being partnered with me," he chuckled. If it really was a fire type, that would be interesting, he would have to see for himself. It would definitely make things a bit more interesting for his team.
When Marcel mentioned having a pokemon sit on it and glanced at the poor Audino, Cade chuckled. "I dunno, if it hatched, it might mistake Patin for its mother, no?" he teased the little pokemon as well. Though, he had an idea, a recent addition to his team that might make things a bit less likely to spiral out of control tonight. He tossed the pokeball into the air, and from it came a purple Heracross, standing with its arms crossed. "By the way, Marcel. This is Atlas," the Heracross nodded, looking towards the Audino and nodding to him as well.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | Marcel eyed the egg with a growing curiosity as Cade explained how he'd found it. "The power plant? Normally I'd say electric types, but I can't say I know any red and tan electric types." Not off the top of his head, anyway. Some shiny pokemon were, but not the base ones... unless he was missing one. That was always possible. He was good at recognizing them in person, but not so good at remembering them off the top of his head.
Marcel largely waved off Cade's concerns. "It'll be fine. There's much worse people to be stuck with." He commented with a grin, straightening up and cracking his back with a stretch as Cade released his other pokemon. When Marcel thought of Cade, he certainly didn't think of a six foot tall bug for a partner, but he supposed it wasn't so bad. It was at least big - Cade with a tiny little pokemon would be a downright amusing sight.
Patin didn't like the little teasing, his little arms on his hips and giving Cade a big frown. He was not some egg-managing Chansey. No way. He was a proper pokemon - a male pokemon no less. The fact that the bug before Patin was purple didn't phase the pokemon, even if Marcel did tilt his head a bit. "A shiny? Didn't think you'd be after those kinds, to be honest."

Rubbing his head slightly, it would be interesting to know what kind of pokemon was inside of this egg. "Yeah, it wouldn't be too bad if it was an electric type, but I'm in the same boat," last he knew, there weren't many electric types that looked red or brown, from what he could recall. It had been a while since he had studied any of them, so there very well could be some as far as he knew. Still, it would be fun to see what came out, and he would probably wind up keeping it whatever it was, despite his protests.
"True enough, but at the same time there are better ones, no?" he chuckled, shrugging slightly. He supposed he could think of it as a sign from the gods, that this egg fell into his lap. It seemed strange that it had been where he could find it with relative ease. Who knew what was really going on though, so it would be best to not worry about it too much.
He smirked at the Audino, and waved his hand slightly towards it, "Relax, Patin. I'm just teasing you." With Atlas out, he was sure that there would be less trouble in the bar. They were both similar in their aspects, that they could make a powerful duo. When the mention of shiny being brought up, he shrugged, "Not so interested in the color, he was there, looked strong. I figured what the hell? So, here he is." Cade was hardly a complicated person, he wasn't really interested in all the shininess or whatnot, if it looked like it fit with him, he got it.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | Marcel's fingers tapped a little rhythm on the counter as he considered, mentally running through the list. "Well, there is... what's it called. The stun-fish thing. It's the right kind of brown, anyway." Voltorb was red, but it was extremely obvious that the egg wasn't a voltorb. Voltorbs had a distinct pattern, after all.
Marcel kept right on grinning, waving the whole issue off. "Yes, but each living saint, determined to raise pokemon, can only raise so many." Cade would be a fine trainer, whether he thought so or not. He'd do just fine, and Marcel was sure of it.
Had Cade really waved off his pokemons shineyness that easily? "Yeah, but... well, it's purple." Which was a bit hypocritical, coming from him, since Patin was a rather adorable shade of pink. Patin seemed to notice it, making a face at Marcel.

Marcel actually had thought of an electric type that was brown, of course, it was one of those really weird ones. Still, it did make sense as a whole, he supposed. "True enough, I guess I'll just have to wait and see for the time that it hatches," hopefully, it wouldn't be too long of a wait for that to happen either. It was a bit exciting to say the least, granted, he would never say that out loud either.
When Marcel mentioned that they were all full, Cade laughed and waved his hand slightly. "Alright, alright. I get it, there's just gonna be another crazy thing running wild around Aether," he smirked, there wasn't much point to arguing with Marcel. One of the few people just as stubborn as he was, and Cade knew the debate would go on unless he decided to let it go.
Shrugging slightly, the color of the pokemon never really bothered him, it was the pokemon itself he looked at, "Not like it makes him any weaker or anything, eh? Besides, aren't you the proud owner of a pink pokemon?" It wasn't really an insult, but if they were comparing colors, then pink tended to be a bit worse for a guy than purple. Then again, Cade thought Patin was an interesting little guy anyways. "Besides, are you really willing to judge Atlas being purple? I can show you on this counter how his color doesn't affect his strength," a sly smirk. Though, he wouldn't actually have Atlas do that, it was just a fun way to tease Marcel.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | Cade hardly seemed excited for a stunfisk, and Marcel couldn't blame him. Some pokemon were awesome looking - they showed their power to the world openly. Some were cuter, but hid their power behind a facade of cuddliness. Some, however, were simply boring - neither powerful, nor cute. They simply existed, and Marcel really had to pity those pokemon. Patin was a good little pokemon, who hid his power behind an adorable pink facade. No one expected something so cute to be able to kick ass, but pick ass Patin did.
Marcel could banter with the best of them, and grinned as Cade admitted defeat. "No shame in a bit of craziness. You'll be a great pokemon-daddy." Oh yes, not a trainer - no, Marcel had to go and call Cade a 'pokemon dad'. Sure, he'd never seen the guy with a freshly hatched pokemon, but the mental image of the seven foot tall Cade doting on a pokemon was absolutely priceless. It was just so not how he looked, and yet Marcel had enough experience to know that the man wasn't as much of a violent thug as his height would indicate. People tended to associate height with that sort of thing, and the majority of the time it was wrong.
Marcel did a little faux eyeroll at Cade's jab, clearly not bothered in the slightest. "Patin is supposed to be pink." He commented, giving the pokemon a little rub on the head. "Patin would look odd if he was green or something. Sort of like how Atlas looks weird purple." Distinct, anyway. "Stands out." Standing out was an understatement - it'd be hard to miss the giant purple bug.

In all honesty, he wasn't that thrilled about a stunfish, it was probably an interesting pokemon, but he already had that electric spot filled. Then again, if something went wrong with its earthquake, he really didn't feel like getting hurt by his own team. Though, he supposed it could be used to his advantage in a way, he would figure things out when it hatched though. Poking at the egg slightly, he watched it for a moment with idle curiosity.
When his friend called him a pokemon dad, he gave him a sideways glance with a half-smile. "No trainer for me, huh? Straight to being a dad?" he laughed, shaking his head slightly and taking a drink from the rum. Watching the Heracross look about the bar, his eyes focused, he'd feel sorry for the drunk that tried to mess with him.
When Marcel poked back, he laughed, "I dunno, he could do well with a green image as well." He was sure Patin would disagree though, and quite the disgruntled look. "Hm, but then doesn't that make him more fitting for me? We both stand out then, no?" it seemed appropriate that the man that stood out in a crowd, had a pokemon that did the same. At least, it made sense to him, anyways.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | As weird as it was, Cade had never struck Marcel as some pokemon trainer. Trainers were those snot nosed kids who made everything into part of their own personal quest. Cade was... well, responsible might not have been the best choice of words, but he sure as hell wasn't some snot nosed kid. No way anyone would mistake him for anything short of a full grown adult. Not at his size.
"Yup, straight to being a dad. You're the kind of guy who probably acts all tough around other trainers, and then you go straight to being a big softy the moment you're out of eyesight." Plenty of people like that, and Cade was simply too imposing NOT to be like that. If he wasn't... well, then that was cheating, wasn't it? Or something like that, anyway.
Marcel paused, eyeing the bugs color again. "If it was a bit darker of a purple, it'd match you better. That'd be better then that... almost-pink color." It was such a damn bright purple, too. A little bit darker and it would be nice looking without being a beacon for trouble.

He wasn't quite what people would expect from the normal trainer, he wasn't on some quest to become 'the best'. Or whatever the hell kids did nowadays anymore, he was in it to create a strong team. One that he could work together with to protect what was important to him. So, whatever he had to do, to get the pokemon stronger, he would do just that and make sure they reached their full potential.
"Hm, is that the way you see me? I wonder if that'll be true? I've never really dealt with anything that could be considered a kid before, so I suppose we'll find out, eh?" he laughed, it would be amusing to find out himself. He placed his hand on the egg, giving it a gentle rub to warm the thing a bit more. Friction and body heat tended to help warm things, so it would hopefully hatch sooner.
"Mm, I suppose that's true, but hey. It stands out, I stand out. We're both strong, it seemed like a good fit," plus, if he ever needed anything to give him a run for his strength or help him with lifting, he had something. Hell, it could help him carry trees to his house if he needed anymore for firewood or what have you.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | Marcel had never quite seen the need for strategy and team building. He knew that some people did - finely tuning each individual pokemon's moves, abilities, gender, and so on. He'd never found the need. Patin was enough for him, the adorable little pokemon always happy to help out - while at the same time being totally willing to issue a ridiculous beating. Patin was all he needed - he didn't need to do his homework as so many others did.
"I suppose we will find out. You'll make a fine dad." He was confident of that fact, shifting slightly to eye the egg and the door, just in case any other customers appeared. "Spoil it rotten. You only live once, and all that." Patin had, as suitable for a pink adorable little pokemon, been spoiled beyond rotten. He'd been given every treat and present you could imagine. Patin didn't even sleep in a pokeball - he had a little bed of his own, nice and comfy with blankets. Hell, the audino lived better then most humans.
"I suppose it is. Nice and useful." Cade certainly had his uses. "Big and strong." Patin, hearing his trainer compliment another pokemon, prodded at Marcel's leg, causing the blond man to let out a laugh. "You're strong too, Patin."
