"You're just not gonna drop the dad thing, huh?" he laughed, shaking his head. He honestly couldn't see himself as a dad to anything, let alone a pokemon. "Spoil it rotten, huh? Maybe," spoiling things always seemed to be a bad thing to him, especially so many people spoiled rotten by their parents. Shaking his head, he just couldn't see the good of spoiling something. His pokemon would be more like him, earning things through hard work.
He nodded in response to Marcel's words, the Heracross was big and strong. It would be easy enough for him to get people back into an orderly fashion here. Not many would expect a bug to out-muscle them, after all. He chuckled at Patin, "Don't worry, we know you're strong." smirking, he looked to Atlas as he took a seat next to the egg as well. "If you want really, he could help out in the bar tonight, serving drinks and the like?" it was an offer at least. Atlas gave a nod, showing that he would help if he needed to do so.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | Marcel grinned all the wider. "Why would I drop it? It's true. You'll be a poke-dad. No questions asked." Even if Marcel was actually way off about the idea of spoiling the pokemon, he was entirely convinced it was true - the mental image of Cade tickling the poor little pokemon and giving it treats was a priceless one. What could be cuter then that?
Marcel shook his head at the offer. "Not needed, really. I can handle it just fine. Patin doesn't even have to work most of the time, but he gets bored if he doesn't. Weekends are when it gets really busy, but even then, I can handle it. People know to be patient when it's busy, and It's not like I'm a slacker." No, no one would ever call Marcel a slacker. He'd dragged himself up on his own, ignoring his family money and making a name all for himself.

A slight snort cam from the large man, "Yeah, yeah. I don't think I fit the role of a dad still. We'll see what happens with that." A wry smirk on his features, he couldn't see himself as a dad, no matter how he pictured things. The spoiling wouldn't happen either, if there was a pokemon that was gonna be on his team, it would be able to do stuff for itself. It would be especially important if it couldn't get orders in battle from Cade, it would need to be able to react on its own.
"Alright, well, if you need him for anything feel free to ask him. We'll just be here to keep trouble down then," he nodded, the Heracross giving a slight 'Hera' to agree with that. Laughing, "I didn't say you were, but still, never hurts to have some help from time to time, eh?" he smirked. Granted, he knew there was another person supposed to be working here, but still. Well, no point in it, he knew that Marcel was a stubborn one when it came to certain things.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | A lot of the time, Marcel was happy he didn't have a full team. One pokemon meant it was far easier for him to befriend them. One pokemon meant that the pokemon was almost always out, always getting used to Marcel. Patin didn't even need orders the majority of the time - he knew the ground rules. Avoid property damage, don't aim to kill, and embarrassment was a must when throwing people out on their ass. Of course, being a small pink pokemon, embarrassment basically came with the job.
"I'll ask if I need it." But he wouldn't - never did. He was fiercely independent when it came to things like this, after all. He never went halfsies.
Marcel jumped slightly, glancing over as the egg let out a crack. He leaned in, suddenly curious. "Lucky you, looks like it's hatching. Here's hoping for... not a stunfisk." |

"Mhm, I'm sure you will," the large man gave his friend a suspicious glance at that. He knew he wasn't the type that would ask for help on things. Not that he could blame Marcel, Cade didn't really ask for help himself, he figured it would be good to do stuff on his own.
When the egg finally began to hatch, he watched it closely, wondering just what would come from it. When the egg fell away, it revealed a little monkey with a flaming butt. "So, I have a monkey...with a flaming butt. I guess it's still better than the stunfisk. Hey there, little guy," he held his hand out towards the little fire monkey. Who, upon seeing him, immediately jumped up his arm and nestled itself onto his shoulder, seeking warmth.
"...well, this is new," Cade wasn't entirely sure how to react, but just went with petting the little thing for now. Which, seemed to calm it down quite a bit.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | A chimchar? It hadn't even occurred to him that it was a possibility, but apparently that was what it was. "Ahh, a little chimchar." At least that explained the pattern on the egg, if nothing else. Chimchar were a cute pokemon - and if he didn't already have Patin, the sort he might have been interested in it.
"Lucky you." He commented, giving the guy a grin. Even better, the thing was being overly friendly, nuzzling against Cade's shoulder. "They probably need heat, right? Tuck it into your shirt or something." Wasn't that what you were supposed to do with baby animals? Marcel wasn't quite sure, and lacked any real experience. He had only a rough idea, and even then, most of his ideas were probably wrong. Patin had never been much of a baby, although he had curled up with the little mon in his bed.

Chimchar, is that what this thing was? Well, then he had just the perfect name for it, "Hm, I'll call him Apollo then, how's that sound?" The monkey was in no mood to answer questions though, as it curled up and fell asleep on Cade. Which left the large man in an awkward situation, as it couldn't move much unless he wanted the thing to go flying.
"Do they?" he wasn't sure, but it seemed to make sense, so he tucked the little monkey into his shirt. It was warm, but the flames weren't painful, which was an odd sensation. He stroked at the things head, eliciting a purr-like sound from it.

[atrb=width,200][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=background,http://i.imgur.com/phpDa.png,true] | The purring coming from Cade's shirt told him that yes, heat was probably helpful. "Well, it makes sense, doesn't it? Fire pokemon like the heat, ice types don't. Ice types probably don't like the heat of being petted all that much." Most probably wouldn't, anyway. The ones with colder body temperatures, which had to stay cool. Weren't... what, snakes like that? No, they were the opposite. They needed body heat. "Warm blooded, right?" He responded, giving his hand a little wave as he incorrectly remembered what the word was supposed to mean.
The rest of the night was relatively uneventful - banter and little else. It was a nice sort of day, just the same, and Marcel was happy to not have to deal with any obnoxious customers.
