Really, it was closer to an outright hate. Xavier had always been a bit of an elitist - always thought he was better then everyone. Maybe he was. Maybe he had always been better. Even if he was, though, it wasn't exactly nice to shove that in people's faces. How fitting, of course, that his own memorial was a dead thing that turned into an evil possessed coffin. Sure, he was going to have Xavier in his little team, but he wasn't going to like it.
At the very least, a ghost did have it's uses. When you were hunting normal types for a bounty (someone really wanted a ditto), a ghost was invaluable. Really, how could you pass it up? Normal types were next to useless against it, and it was some nice training for his poor mon.
(Ditto hunting, Skipping a ton, etc)

WILD COMBEE APPEARED! [/style] Combee || Male || Hustle || Bug/Flying || Level 4 Sweet Scent || Gust A quiet buzzing filled the air as swarms of busy Combee filled the air, flitting around from plant to plant in search of honey to bring back to Her Glorious Majesty, dutifully ignoring anything else around them. Their lives depended on it, after all; they lived to serve their queen, and failure to return with a bounty of honey would be seen as a grave insult. A particular Combee shuddered at that thought, remembering the way they had been punished the last time they had the audacity to appear before Her Glorious Majesty empty-handed. Oh, she had been far from pleased, and warned them that the next time they failed to serve their purpose she would show them no mercy - if they got away with merely having an antenna ripped out, they would be lucky. Just thinking about it sent shivers of anxiety through their conjoined being, but they had stay calm and remind themselves that they would be all right this time. They had already gathered honey from several flowers today, which would get them off the metaphorical hook until at least tomorrow when they would have to awaken with the sun and start their search all over again. Ah, such was the life of a servant in a Vespiqueen’s colony, but who were they to question destiny?
Pushing their introspective thoughts from their minds, the Combee darted to the next group of flowers, right beside some human family’s mailbox, hovering at the side of the road while they carefully began their task.

WILD COMBEE APPEARED! [/style] Combee || Male || Hustle || Bug/Flying || Level 4 Sweet Scent || Gust It was odd to see a ghost floating by in this part of the city, but the Combee was too preoccupied to give the Yamask a second thought - busy as bees, you might say, if you were willing to succumb to such bad puns. Their work was more important than picking a fight unless Her Glorious Majesty commanded them to, and since she was nowhere to be seen they were happy to just let the Yamask pass them by without the slightest bit of trouble, buzzing away harmlessly while they continued on with the task at hand.
WILD DRIFLOON APPEARED! [/style] Drifloon || Male || Aftermath || Ghost/Flying || Level 3 Constrict || Minimize As strange as it might be to see a ghost floating around the residential area, here was another just bobbing along by, its streamer arms languidly blowing in the wind as the balloon-like specter wandered around in search of children to drag off. Of course, this rarely ever worked in his kind’s favor; despite being small, human youngsters were heavy little demons, and any Drifloon attempting to kidnap one inevitably ended up as the child’s plaything. Yet for whatever reason they were still drawn to the grubby little creatures, but so far today, this Drifloon was having a hard time finding any kids around at all. Was this City really such a bad place to live that parents never let their children outside? The dual-type sighed, dropping several inches sadly at the thought.
That was when something else caught his attention: a young man with a rather frightening expression wandering down the street. The trainer himself was scary enough to the ghost-type, but it was the Pokémon at the Marowak gijinka’s side that truly terrified him. That dark, eerie figure was unquestionably a Yamask, and seeing another ghost-type immediately put the Drifloon on edge. After all, he was rather pathetic as far as ghost-types went, lacking the capability to damage his own kind. With only a normal-type attack at his disposal, any confrontation with another ghost was bound to send him right back to the afterlife - a thought that sent tremors of fear running through the Drifloon’s body. Quickly, he deflated his body down to a smaller size using his Minimize technique, hoping that if he decreased his surface area the Yamask might miss seeing him and pass him by, leaving him free to haunt another day.

The yellow eyes peered up at the purple balloon, clearly weighing the odds. He had nothing but ghost moves himself, and any fight he might have had with it would have likely gone badly. He was oblivious to the fact that the drifloon was even worse off then he was, and continued to float onward, down the street. No, the drifloon was lucky that day.

WILD DRIFLOON APPEARED! [/style] Drifloon || Male || Aftermath || Ghost/Flying || Level 3 Constrict || Minimize The Drifloon re-inflated as soon as he was sure the coast was clear, relieved beyond words that the pair had passed him by without conflict. That was close, way too close for comfort! When the Yamask had locked eyes with him, he was sure that he was doomed, certain that the other ghost could sense the weakness in his little balloon body, but for whatever reason he let him be. Still, the encounter left the airborne phantom shaken, and he decided then and there that he was going to find a better, safer place to haunt. Maybe find a children’s park or a schoolyard or something to settle down in, where he would have all the kids in the world to play with-er, kidnap. As he glided away in the opposite direction, he couldn’t suppress the shudder that ran through his body at the memory of the duo, both so frightening in their own ways. What was a hoodlum like that man doing wandering around a residential area any way? Not that it was any of his business, but the Epispect agent looked disturbingly out of place alongside domestic dwellings, and the Yamask floating alongside him was even more so. No, better not to think too hard on it; he needed to get out of there and fast, just in case the Yamask suddenly decided to change his mind and attack him after all.
WILD MINCCINO APPEARED! [/style] Minccino || Male || Skill Link || Normal || Level 4 Pound || Growl For a species that considered themselves advanced, humans pretty damn filthy! Why do they always have to go and leave bottles everywhere? Don’t they have things called dumpsters for this shit? An aggravated Minccino thought, wrinkling his nose as he swept up bits of broken glass with his fluffy tail, careful to avoid getting cut. Apparently, some humans living around here had decided to throw a party here last night, and now there were broken glass bottles that absolutely reeked of something strong and disgusting scattered all over the City’s sidewalk. That’s right, the City’s sidewalk, not theirs. Living on this street did not grant these slobs permission to trash it however they pleased, especially when there were other people and Pokémon living here! It was absolutely inexcusable, and the irate normal-type found himself momentarily envisioning sweeping the street with their inconsiderate faces. Perhaps then they would think twice about treating the area surrounding their homes like a landfill. “Mincci min min.” My tail better not smell like booze when this is done, the little creature grumbled in annoyance as he brushed the litter into a trash can lying on its side.
A sudden crunch caught his attention, the chinchilla’s huge ears twitching at the sound of yet more glass breaking. Not wanting to believe what he was hearing, the normal-type turned slowly to glance back to the road to find a trainer stomping through, grinding the remaining glass on the sidewalk into an even finer mess then it was before. Whatever was left of the Minccino’s composure snapped as rage boiled in the creature’s gut while he fought back the sudden urge to reach out and throttle something. He was cleaning that! Ugh, now it was going to take him forever to get all the glass off the cement! And, in the meantime, who was going to get hurt? Not some human with nice, heavy boots, that’s for sure, but then again why would one of those care about how what they did affected the Pokémon around them? Any sane creature would realize by now that he was jumping to conclusions about the Marowak gijinka all too quickly, but the Minccino was just too damn angry to care right now. Besides, even if the guy had a Yamask with him, it wasn’t like the ghost could hurt a normal-type; they existed in completely different worlds, each unable to touch the other. Completely hyped up on anger now, the normal-type dashed around to glare at the human, his eyes glinting with a vicious light that didn’t match his cute exterior, and Growled at the man.
“Minc min Minccino min min.” I was fucking cleaning that, he ground out, his whole body taught with fury. No, he wouldn’t attack yet - not with the battlefield covered in broken glass - but he was definitely going to give this asshole a piece of his deluded mind.
OOC: Sorry for the length...I enjoyed writing him a little too much. :'D

He wouldn't have really cared that the glass he'd just grinded into such a fine powder. While the street might be dirty to the normal types standards, to Richard, it was practically spotless. The slums were a thousand times worse, and he barely noticed what trash there was as he carried on.
Richard was not a strategist. No one would ever mistake him for a tactician. The idea that the ghost wouldn't be able to even hit the Mincinno was beyond him. No, he just knew that the Mincinno was in his way. In his way, angry, and growling at him.
At him. Not his pokemon - no, the thing was going to try and take him on, as far as he was concerned. Now, Xavier had never been Richard's biggest friend. Hell, they'd fought more then a little bit. Even so, the Yamask wasn't the bastard - the Yamask was actually quite fond of his new trainer, and so he jumped into action, astonishing the normal type.
Even so, it would do no damage, even if it did activate the yamask's ability, nulling the normal's ability. It was then that Richard realized what he'd done, letting out a groan. "Fuck!" With the crowbar in one hand, he drew back, throwing a violent bonemerang. The Crowbar proceeded to defy logic, not only going out towards the Mincinno in the first place, but returning after. WILD MINCCINO APPEARED! [/style] Minccino || Male || Skill Link || Normal || Level 4 Pound || Growl The normal-type was definitely not expecting the Yamask to be the first to react to his irate challenge, but the phantom did nonetheless, attempting to Astonish the Minccino. The suddenness of the attack startled the creature into leaping back and out of the way despite knowing that there was nothing to afraid of. Even if he had remained still, the attack would have passed right through him more or less harmlessly, and the Minccino felt his cheeks heating beneath his fur in humiliation at his terrified reaction while a fresh surge of anger filled his chest. Great, now the Yamask was screwing with him! That was just adding insult to his trainer’s potential injury as far as the furious rodent was concerned. Well, two could play at that game, he thought pettily as his right paw began to glow with clear, elementless energy. He then ran at his ghostly foe, raising his shining paw in a Pound attack, hoping that his fearless charge would mess with the freak right back.
Turns out that was the mistake that cost him the “fight,” if not his life.
To be fair, how the hell was he supposed to know that the human-looking thug was a bigger threat than his creepy Yamask partner, or that he was capable of hurling Bonemerangs with enough force to bash in the brains of inexperienced Pokémon such as himself? So the fluffy normal-type’s blunder wasn’t entirely his fault, but the damage was done all the same. The crowbar crashed into the Minccino mid-jump with a sickening crunch, sending the chinchilla’s limp, unconscious body flying into some nearby shrubbery. At least the neat freak would’ve taken some comfort in the fact that he would not be littering the sidewalk with his body, since it was neatly hidden from sight by a partition of leafy branches. The only mess he left behind was a small splash of blood on the concrete, the bright red droplets contrasting with the pale concrete in a way that would have driven the creature’s OCD up a wall.
MINCCINO, UM, FAINTED(?)! IT MIGHT BE CAPTURABLE IF IT IS SOMEHOW STILL ALIVE! XAVIER GAINED ONE LEVEL FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE BATTLE!
[/center][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify] WILD ??? APPEARED! [/style] Yamask(?) || ??? || Mummy || Ghost || Level 4 Astonish || Protect || Safeguard || Psych Up "Ya, Yamask ya." Wow, that was something all right, a Yamask identical to Xavier exclaimed from out of nowhere, one hand shading his eyes as he watched the Minccino go flying. Poor thing. At this rate it, too, was going to become a ghost - though not exactly in the same way this newcomer had. At least the other Yamask had some pretty good moves - if that rough-looking guy decided to throw his crowbar over this way, Protect might just save this second phantom’s ass. The Yamask shuddered, eyes flicking down to the blood on the ground; avoid that at all costs would be a good idea, though in that case it probably shouldn’t have approached the duo in the first place. Still, you never knew what would happen around here, and this new creature was in need of a change of face pretty badly, so both of this ghost-type’s would have to do for now.
It occurred to the creature that getting out of here right now should take priority to everything else, but it was also a mischievous little soul, and it kind of wanted to see the man’s reaction when he realized that his Yamask partner had somehow become two. Hopefully he wouldn’t decide that it was just safer to take them both out with that crowbar of his. What would be the fun in that?
OOC: It’s pretty obvious what’s going on here, I was just trying to make it interesting. ‘>w> Kinda failed, but meh.

Excessively overkill, really. He'd probably killed the damn thing, but Richard wasn't the sort of person who'd dwell on things like that. Pokemon were animals, no more, and Richard wasn't exactly sympathetic.
The appearance of a second ghost, though, confused him. Where had that come from? Had the mincinno died already? That seemed excessively fast, and he frowned a bit. "Where the hell did you come from?" he snapped, suddenly unsure.
Xavier was less unsure. Any pokemon near his trainer was a pokemon unwanted, so he quickly lashed out, aiming to astonish his foe.

WILD ??? APPEARED! [/style] Yamask(?) || ??? || Mummy || Ghost || Level 4 Astonish || Protect || Safeguard || Psych Up Finding the man’s snapping a little less amusing than he was hoping for, the Yamask copy tilted its head, a bit perplexed at his lack of freaking out at the sudden intrusion. That was not what it was looking for in a reaction at all! Nor was the real Yamask’s speedy response, the Astonish catching the imposter off-guard and scoring a critical hit that sent the fake reeling in midair with a cry. Holy crap! The ghostly mimic really wasn’t expecting such an immediate attack - especially one that stung as much as that now super-effective smack - and it showed in the shock on its stolen face as it blinked in surprise and pain. But hey, what did it think was going to happen? That Xavier would be just fine with having his appearance stolen by another Pokémon, especially right in front of his trainer? Really, the replica should have expected this from the very start.
That did not mean he had to take the attack lying down, however.
Getting used to new bodies was always somewhat difficult and while they came with the muscle memory to use the moves attached to them, mastering those moves was easier said than done. Still, this faker was at least competent enough to strike right back at the real thing with an Astonish of its own after being on the receiving end of Xavier’s attack. It was simple enough - though it lacked the force behind the other’s aggressive strike - but the Yamask clone was completely aware now and ready to defend himself when the next attack came.
OOC: Okay, so...I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing with this, so I’m really winging it here. I’m treating it as a level 2 Yamask like Xavier in the damage calculator and assuming that it wouldn’t un-transform because it already copied the ability. If you find anything wrong with this, anything at all, then could you please tell me how it should really go so that I don’t continue making the same mistakes? x_x

Where had it come from? What was it doing here? Why was there a damn ghost in the middle of the residential area? Richard was never that smart, and the idea of it being something pretending to be a yamask never once occurred to him. Instead, he simply decided it didn't matter. No matter why it was there, he'd beat it up and catch it.
Xavier let out a little yelp as the other Yamask struck him, but no way was he just leaving it at that. He'd win. He lashed out with an astonish, before giving a little spin and following up with a second astonish.

WILD DITTO APPEARED! [/style] Ditto || Genderless || Imposter || Normal || Level 4 Transform A cry of pain from his adversary made the supposed-Yamask chortle to itself as it throughly enjoyed the feeling of using this new form well. Whoever said that imitations could never match their originals in a fight? The pseudo-ghost didn’t know and didn’t really care, but it did know that anyone who even suggested that to be the truth was dead wrong and it was going to show it! It was even ready when Xavier struck back at it, throwing up a quick Protect that blocked the other Yamask’s Astonish with a barrier of condensed, glowing energy that rendered the latter’s attack completely harmless.
Feeling that victory was close at hand, the imposter laughed behind its protective shield, watching the genuine ghost-type through the barrier’s distorted light while thinking that it would just sit back and enjoy the show as the other struggled futilely to land an attack against it, but it was not to be; the second Astonish shattered the Protect like glass, giving the Pokémon on the other side only enough time to widen its borrowed eyes in shock before the attack struck it square in the face, sending it sprawling out on the sidewalk in a very un-ghostly manner. It struggled for a moment to get up - it had to maintain its shape - but it was no use and after a few feeble attempts to rise into the air the creature fell back against the street, completely passing out as a strange change started to come over its body. The shadowy body on the ground seemed to melt, its limbs and body liquefying into a strange gelatinous ooze right before his foe’s eyes, and in a few short seconds it was not a Yamask lying on the sidewalk but a strange puddle of what looked like purple liquid, although any trainer with knowledge of rare and sought-after Pokémon would know better. Indeed, this was no ordinary puddle of goo but a Ditto - and one that was now completely defenseless and ready for catching at that!
WILD DITTO FAINTED! IT CAN NOW BE CAPTURED! XAVIER GAINED TWO LEVELS FOR WINNING!
