Alexi stood there on the edge of the sand and just... stared. He had come here on a whim, wanting to see if he could do it. Remus had taken the mountain terrain well, snorting and kicking and whinnying, the Ponyta dancing between his thighs as he wanted to keep running. Only there was nowhere to run to. There would never be anywhere to run to again. Alexi would know. He'd tried. It was one of the first things he'd done after escaping his father. He had run and run and run until he practically passed out from sheer exhaustion. Running got you nowhere and nothing. He ran a lot. But that was different. He ran because if he didn't run, there was nothing left for him to do anymore. He may have joined Team Rocket... but that was just a means to an end, and with the way his boss was acting, he had a feeling he was viewed the same way. A means to an end. He may not have exactly determined what that end was that the boss was striving for yet... but it chilled him a little knowing that the man thought nothing of killing his pawns. He still remembered that girl's eyes that time he'd had to come in to deliver some reports to the man's desk, she begging and pleading for forgiveness and he just... emotionless calm before he just... Alexi couldn't describe it. He hadn't known the girl and he hadn't been there long enough to know if she had been a problem, but... a life was a life. ' Aren't you a hypocrite though?' a voice purred in his head. ' If your father had been in his place... you would think nothing of his death.' He shivered at the thought, shaking his head. "No, I would care! I would..." he trailed off, the scowl on his face slowly fading as he realized the truth. He would care... but only because he would be pissed the boss had taken that privilege from him. He wanted to be the one to get revenge... Right? Groaning softly to himself, he threw a leg over Remus' flank and landed heavily on his feet, stalking over towards the waves crashing on the sand. Why was he even thinking about this? He had joined Team Rocket with the intent of destroying Epispect for what they'd done and especially of making his father pay for his sins. But well... now that he'd stared death in the face (and thrown up a little over it too)... was he really certain this was the path he wanted to go down? And, more importantly, if it wasn't... could he even move off it and keep his life? OOC: ... ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST ANGST. Most of my posts aren't gonna be this long either. I just had... a surprising amount of muse once I got started. Team- Remus ~ Octavian (invisible) ~ Larvesta (invisible) ~ Echo (invisible)

The sound of waves on the shore was a soothing sound to the young Gijinka, and Ah-hin would have been content to lay on the beach and sleep for the rest of the day. It didn't help that she was exhausted from the travelling her group had been doing. Mizuki and Kiyalin were discussing where they should be going next, though they'd all but decided on heading into Aether City. Ah-hin left them to their discussion to explore a bit. She didn't plan on going far from her group, seeing as she didn't know the area well. None of them did really but that was besides the point. Blue eyes wandered around the area as she took in her surroundings. No wonder people liked coming to the beach. It was soothing and peaceful. For just a moment she was tempted to pretend that she was merely human, with nothing more to worry about than her next battle.
Than reality set in.
She sighed shaking her head slightly as she headed toward the water only to stop short at the sight of a young man. He had messy black hair and a lean build. He was also a few inches taller than she was from what she could tell. She pulled the hood of her jacket up to hide her face and started to leave. She had wanted some peace and quiet for a moment but that wasn't going to happen with the other person there. Instincts told her to stand her ground, and she might have if she was alone. She had her twin and Kiya to worry about though and she wasn't going to put them in any danger. With that in mind she started back the way she had come, hoping that the figure hadn't noticed her. Her nostrils flared slightly trying to scent the other person but they were downwind of her and she let out a soft growl half turning to check over her shoulder.
Hopefully they didn't even know she'd seen them.

Alexi walked forward through the sand, ignoring the slight panic that was welling up inside him from the feeling of sand shifting from underneath his feet, and kept moving until he got to the surf, and even then he kept moving into the water. He didn't care that his shoes were getting soaked and that sparks were dancing dangerously over the water's surface, spreading farther than usual as the salt encouraged the conduction of his own electricity. Sure, there were probably some Pokemon he could be hurting, but he had other things to worry about. Like whether or not it was worth remaining with Team Rocket or not. Sure, Epispect was quite large, enough so to prevent him from feasibly be able to defeat them on his own... but his target was not the entire company. It was his father. He sighed heavily, feeling the waves lap against his thighs. Part of him almost wished it was possible to surf to other lands, to sail across the sea until he hit land again. Tipping his head back, he let his eyes slip closed as he took a mild measure of comfort in the thrill of being in control of his own actions and even the steady movement against his legs that was so similar to that sensation of running. Suddenly, he heard a strange splash, and a protesting whinny from behind him, obviously Remus'. He opened his eyes to see three powerful Water-types - a Dewott, a Wartortle, and a Lapras - heading towards him with something dark in their gaits. Thinking nothing of it, he let loose a Discharge into the water around him for protection and then turned to walk out the water when he paused, his dark eyes catching sight of someone and his nose picking up a strange scent akin to that of freezing cold. For a moment he thought of sending out Octavian for a little extra protection... but he decided to hold onto the Deerling for now until the person proved themself a threat. OOC: Okay, some notes here to help you. Any Pokemon you have in your team should be included in your post somewhere to make it easier for the mods and others to see who and what you have, and if you swap out a Pokemon, it's considered common courtesy to ask for permission first. Also, none of the Pokemon mentioned in a post can be caught or defeated for levels, they are for plot only and act more as NPCs. That's all I can think of at the moment, welcome to WK! Ah-hin paused studying the young man who had waded into the water at this point. She saw sparks dancing along the surface of the ocean water and knew he was like her. A Gijinka. That made her hesitate, almost wanting to get to know him simply for that fact. She hadn't gotten to interact with other Gijinka outside of her sister so the temptation was enormous. But the fact that she didn't know him set off warning bells. He could be working for Epispect, or worse Team Rocket. She would have nothing to do for someone working with the latter, no questions asked. She stood there for a moment simply watching him as his Ponyta alerted him to the presence of water types approaching. She wasn't surprised when he turned around that he caught her scent. She was surprised that he didn't do anything. She debated for a moment then she turned to leave him to his relaxing when she heard the sound of paws running along the sand. Then, a vulpix was careening headlong toward her. She started to dodge, thinking it was coming after her when the vulpix slipped on some ice on the outcrop it was on and went tumbling head over tail toward the ocean with a yelp. Without thinking, Ah-hin was sprinting toward the tumbling fox pokemon, her hood blowing back to expose her face. She didn't care though, she knew that vulpix was in serious trouble if it got into the water. She wasn't quick enough to keep it from tumbling off the overhang, though she did manage to catch it and grab the edge before either of them could fall into the water. She shifted to put the vulpix up on the over hang before climbing up herself but the pokemon clung to her, refusing to let go being terrified. "Let go, silly I'm trying to help you." she muttered scowling slightly at the vulpix. It refused to budge though and she felt her grip slipping slightly. She tried tugging again, but the vulpix just whined and clung tighter. With a sigh she shifted her weight preparing to try and swing herself back up. She might surviving getting wet but the vulpix might not.
OOC: Yeah uhm.. she may need a hand XD since the vulpix is kinda terrified right now lol let me know if I need to change the post any.

Alexi stared at the person for a long moment, tapping into his power to create light sparks along his shoulders and arms in a quiet warning that he was a dangerous foe to mess with. The same reasons Zebstrika would spark in the wild was the same as Alexi did now. He was telling others that he was a powerful specimen and could roast them in a moment should he choose to. Instead, he fisted his hands and whistled, summoning forth one of his stranger Pokemon from its Pokeball, the only female currently on his team. A small Chatot appeared in a little flash of light, her head cocked to the side as she hopped onto his head and perched there. She couldn't really fly well since her feathers were still growing out from her previous owner, who had clipped them back, but she at least could glide and often perched on his head. She was a quiet bird, not really one who was overly sociable, but that was okay, she was only here for a little while; until he could find a better Trainer for her at any rate. He wouldn't have taken her in at all if she hadn't been in such a pityable situation. Honestly... what had that insane Flareon girl been thinking, trying to shove a TM down the poor thing's throat? Sighing as he let her perch there and made a conscious effort to direct his electricity in a way that would not hurt her, he turned his attention to the interloper. Sighing as he watched her nearly tumble over, he tossed out his remaining Pokeball, calling out "Octavian" as it spun before bursting open to reveal the little Deerling. "Help them," he encouraged and the Pokemon nodded, darting forward through the water to offer his support for her and the Vulpix to climb back up onto their ledge. There. It couldn't be said he didn't try to help people. OOC: Not how I might have done it, but that works! And, trivia here, Echo is actually meant for my own Glaceon, Ghost, and is just hanging with Alexi until she gets there. She also came from Terra, my delusional Flareon, who is referenced in the post as her original Trainer. XD Team- Remus ~ Octavian (invisible) ~ Larvesta (invisible) ~ Echo (invisible)

The sparks hadn't scared her all that much, though she would have heeded their warning had she not been distracted by the vulpix and nearly falling off a ledge into the ocean. She heard the whistle but again it didn't bother her that much. She was more worried about her grip slipping. She gave a soft growl to the vulpix who whined. She rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to leave you but if you don't let go both of us will be in trouble." she spoke tartly, noticing the approaching deerling. She eyed it for a moment then glanced down at the vulpix who's grip had loosened. She took the opportunity to detach the fox pokemon and lower him to the deerling's back. "Behave." she ordered the vulpix as it settled on the deerling's back for the time being. It gave a yip as if to say 'Sure thing' and she snorted before letting herself drop. It wasn't a big drop and the water cushioned her fall somewhat. It was still cold water though. She shot the vulpix a bit of a glare. "Don't do something that stupid again, please." she muttered as the vulpix launched itself at her. She caught it easily muttering under her breath about silly pokemon who couldn't stay out of trouble. She turned to the deerling a softer expression on her face. "Thanks." she said softly before wading out of the water, checking to make sure the deerling wasn't in need of any help then headed toward the other Gijinka. Her posture was not aggressive but neither was it submissive. She was hoping he'd get that while she wasn't a threat, neither would she simply roll over on command. "Thank you." she commented once she was closer. She paused at a distance, that while they were able to talk easily there was enough space between them that (hopefully) the other Gijinka wouldn't feel threatened. She simply wanted to thank him for sending the deerling but she was also curious to meet another Gijinka.
OOC: Ah nice X3 and yeah it wasn't conventional but it works XD

Octavian snorted at the sudden weight of the fire Pokemon being lowered onto him, his ears flickering back as its paws slowly gained more weight. He was a little uneasy having such a "powerful" Pokemon so close to him, but Alexi had told him to help, so he would, holding his body still until the paws springboarded off his back and he was free to trot back to Alexi's side. He rubbed gently against the Zebstrika Gijinka's legs as the black-haired male began walking back to shore, wanting the opportunity to be able to back away and move freely if he needed to. Octavian followed docilely, even as Echo remained on his head, carefully watching the two. As the girl slowly got closer, Alexi began to tense up, his body recognizing a threat to his freedom even if it was slight. There was a reason why he hated being underground at the Team Rocket base, after all. It was because it brought back memories he didn't want... didn't need to relive again outside of his nightmares. Sensing his discomfort, Remus snorted and trotted over to his Trainer, tossing his head and flaring his unusual blue flames. His back was placed so Alexi wouldn't have to think before he threw a leg over it, and then he would run as fast and as far as he could back towards their home. Octavian could keep up on his own. They'd be all right in the end so long as they stayed together. Alexi nodded tersely. "You're welcome," he answered quickly, the words clipped and snappy as he shifted his weight from foot to foot, just waiting for the moment it would become socially acceptable for him to go off and be left to his thoughts in peace. OOC: Shorter post, but it's late for me, so it's probably full of derp. Team- Remus ~ Octavian (invisible) ~ Larvesta (invisible) ~ Echo (invisible)

"Easy he won't hurt you." Ah-hin spoke soothingly to the Deerling after she'd landed but then there wasn't need since the Vulpix launched himself into her arms. She didn't mind really, he was a cute little thing. She let him snuggle closer as she headed over to the strange Gijinka. She noticed the Chatot perched on his head and had to fight back a laugh at the sight. The parrot pokemon looked rather adorable sitting on his head and the picture was amusing to say the least. She wouldn't tell him that though, she had the distinct feeling he wouldn't appreciate that. Her expression fell slightly as she noticed how tense the other Gijinka became as she got closer but she wasn't too surprised either. Not with the way most Gijinka were treated by others, so she decided not to press her luck. She wasn't prepared to go up against him and his pokemon anyway so she wasn't even going to consider that. Instead she wanted to make sure they were headed in the right direction. She didn't trust the map they had gotten. "I'm looking for Aether City, but I'm not from around these parts. Do you know which direction I need to go in?" she spoke her posture relaxed and at ease hoping to let him know he wasn't in any danger from her. Really, she just needed directions, that was all.

Echo stared at them for a long time, her gaze seeming strangely ancient and saddened for such a young little thing. Finally, after a long moment, she opened her beak and said the only word Alexi had ever heard her say in the entire time she had been with him - most of which she had spent in silence before she had accepted that he was safe before she had begun quietly speaking every now and again - and in the saddest, most longing tone she could muster, she stated "E... cho..." in that quirky little way she did. That was why Alexi didn't mind her staying with him for a while. They had both been burned by humans, so they could stay together for a while. Not forever though since he still sometimes had a hard time preventing from shocking her when he was sparking and when he finally caught a Blitzle, well... she would be toast. His gaze carefully watched her, guarded as his stances settled into a light fighter's pose, his hands held low and sparks dancing lightly over the skin. Octavian beside him, recognizing that this was not the time, whickered softly and retreated to his Pokeball, leaving one less worry for Alexi to fret over. "It's a long ways to the city," he supplied to her stiffly. "You have to go back up over the Amplus Mountains and through a few forests before you reach the main area. The slums should cover a forest of that though." Remus tossed his head lightly, the blue flames brushing against his neck quietly. The urge to run was always strong with him, but as per usual, the urge to fight was stronger. It usually was for the hot-headed Shiny Ponyta. OOC: Okay, notes here. When you have an egg in your party you want to hatch, as you placed in last post (which you should have asked before you introduced into the thread, along with the Deerling, but I really don't care, so you're fine), you need to also include something like this in the top or bottom: _ Egg x/10 and replace the underscore with a species (and if it's Shiny chance if it is) and the x with the number of posts you've done before it hatches. If you have a Pokemon with Magma Armor or Flame Body, like my Larvesta, the count is 5, and occasionally there are promos where the egg count is lower, but for now, it's 10 for you. Ah-hin regarded him with calm eyes, her posture relaxed and (she hoped) non-threatening as she asked for directions. She cocked her head slightly at the chatot but then her attention was back on the young man. She could see the electricity dancing on his hands, the light fighting stance that he was in and realized he probably wasn't going to relax around her too quickly. Not that she blamed him anyway. She nodded as he gave her directions to follow and realized that her group had gotten turned around at some point. Oh well, now that they had directions they could get to the city.
"Thanks again. We must have gotten turned around trying to read the map." she replied a faint smile ghosting on her lips. The vulpix let out a yip of agreement before snuggling back against his newly claimed trainer. Ah-hin gently rubbed his ears briefly. "Well, we'll be on our way then." she commented turning to leave. She figured she was overstaying her welcome and she didn't want to push the young man into thinking he needed to get away. She wasn't interested in fighting just then and besides Mizuki and Kiyalin were probably starting to get worried about her. So she turned to head back the way she'd come.

Alexi had an uneasy feeling something was coming. He turned his head and saw a Hitmonlee skulking around and thought nothing of attacking it, seeing as it was likely up to no good just judging by its general demeanor. Gathering himself up, his dark eyes slipping shut and his electricity dancing more prominently along his skin as he gathered himself up, he moved in a quick, decisive movement to throw a Thunder attack straight at the Pokemon, his eyes narrowed and watching the large bolt arch quickly to slam into the Pokemon and send it flying. Feeling no guilt, he whistled to Remus, the blue-flamed Ponyta immediately trotting to his Trainer's side. Alexi threw a leg over his side and hopped on, Octavian retreating back into his Pokeball and Echo just clinging close to his hair as he spun off, sand kicking up from Alexi's hooves the whole time. He had to get back to training. This whole thing was a pointless diversion. One he was sure only made him look all the weaker. He should have known better than to pause for a moment. He had told himself that he would keep moving forward no matter the consequences. It was time he started living that.
