Lydian smirked darkly, a general aura of shadows around him. He didn't play well with others, and the Abandoned Sector was like a second home to him. Maybe it was because there was no one around to annoy him with their whining and their stupid ideals like "friendship" and "love". Maybe it was because it housed Dark Pokemon like himself. He didn't know or care, really. All he knew was that he wanted to make his home here as soon as he managed to get some new companions. It was time he moved past Sunshine's betrayal; it had been over a year now, far past his time of mourning. A low growl escaped him, one lip curling upwards. He did so love the idea of fighting, and as if responding to that one of his most basic desires, a patch of purple and black fire started dancing on his skin. It started on his palms, a familiar tickling feeling that then spread across his hands and up his wrists onto his forearms. He smirked and, just for the hell of it, threw out a chilling cackle. He knew he was drawing attention to himself, a shadowy beacon of doom and destruction, but he didn't care. In fact, that was what he wanted. He wanted a new companion, and if he didn't get some Dark Pokemon, he was going to Flamethrower those things into next week. It was that simple. And then maybe, if he got some decent companions, he'd find a nice decrepit ruin to make his home. Yes, that sounded lovely. A dark smile played at his lips. He was going to enjoy this. OOC: Team-

WILD POOCHYENA APPEARED! [/style] Poochyena || Male || Quick Feet || Dark || level 9 Tackle || Howl || Sand Attack With a beaded black nose pointed to the ground he searched through the grasses around a broken down little building. He had recently caught the scent of a rattata nearby, and it ended here, somewhere. Oh where oh where had it gone! Snuffling he pawed at the grass, trying to turn up a scent about where that little purple rat had gone. "Poooch." He howled sadly, scratching through the dirt for that scent. Suddenly movement caught his sight, a grass ruffled at his side. Staring, he waited, but the movement was gone. Snorting, he bolted towards where he saw the movement, searching for the scent there. Why was he so bad at hunting? Whimpering softly he shook his little Poochyena head and walked out onto the trail to go and find his pack, returning once again without a meal. Oh, how disappointed they would be.
Slender ears swivelled forward suddenly at the sound of a laugh. Quickly his head shot up, eyes wide before he felt himself sink down towards the ground in a defensive position. Growling and baring his teeth he walked forward, searching for whomever had laughed....cackled even! It wasn't a pokemon, no, it sounded more...human. Ears slowly fell back as he growled again and tried to be intimidating as his fur rose. And then he saw it. A tall human standing amongst the broken buildings, fire slinking along his arms. Fear jolted inside the poochyena as he froze, watching and staring. Please dont see me.

Lydian heard the growl and whirled about, his eyes narrowed and a growl building in his own throat. " Stupid runt," he growled, raising his hand up towards the little Pokemon that had been dumb enough to challenge him, a Houndoom, a terror of the Abandoned Sector! He was unstoppable, a god among Pokemon! " Flamethrower!" he yelled, letting a long stream of dark purple fire off his hands. Scowling, he stomped towards the scorched grass, before suddenly, the scowl melted from his face. It was a Poochyena. Poochyenas were Dark-Type Pokemon. He had nothing against Dark Pokemon, they were family. But... he had to be sure he fainted it. The thing looked pretty strong, and even though he didn't want it to hate him, he also didn't want to risk that it wasn't weak enough to catch yet. " Ember," he murmured quietly, waving his hand and creating little licks of flame to go after the poor Pokemon. He would catch it though. He knew he was likely causing a good deal of damage, but he was determined to catch the thing and make up for what he had done by being a decent trainer. He refused to let this one leave him like Sunshine did. He was better than that... and he didn't think he could handle another abandonment. OOC: Team-

WILD POOCHYENA APPEARED! [/style] Poochyena || Male || Quick Feet || Dark || level 9 Tackle || Howl || Sand Attack Panic just continued to rise in the poor puppy's heart, his eyes wide as he stared at the human. It seemed that his wishes wouldn't be granted, nor did it seem like he'd be returning home any time soon. Whimpering, his legs finally seemed to want to move, but slowly. Slowly he stepped back to try and get away from the human that had seemed to just notice him, slowly. too slowly. He wanted to go home, to his pack, to his mother and father! Another whimper slipped from him before he shook his head. No! Bad! This wasn't how his parents had raised him, he had to be brave. And smart. With his teeth bared again he lifted up slightly to show pride, or to attempt to be intimidating. Fur rose slowly along his shoulders, his eyes narrowed.
But it was fruitless. In the few seconds it had taken for the human to spot him and grow angry the poochyena hadn't really moved or even thought about what would happen if this human were on of those. Those strange people his parents had warned him of, that could use attacks like their kin and were very very powerful. He hadn't thought of it, and that is exactly why the pup was in this situation, alone and doomed. Before he could even react the human sent a purple-ish flamethrower his way. Yelping, he tried to run, tried to bolt. No, no! It hurt! Crying, he stumbled to the ground, panting heavily. "Pooochyena." He howled in his last seconds, whimpering. Moommmyy. With that, it all went dark, his eyes closed before he passed out, far too burnt and pained to keep consciousness.
POOCHYENA HAS FAINTED AND IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR CAPTURE
WILD SHINX APPEARED! [/style] Shinx || Female || Rivalry || Electric || level 8 Tackle || Leer It was the howl of pain that had caught her attention. Something was in danger! Someone, rather. And it sounded like it was a puppy of some sort. Someone was hurting a poor puppy! Anger filled the little lion cub as it peered out for its clump of grass beside a rather ruined building. It was the protectiveness that was bred into her that made her feel this way, this want to protect such a little puppy. Whatever it was. Growling softly it stared out at the world from it's clump of grass, trying to find where this sound had come from. It was rather close.
Suddenly she saw movement, someone near by. A human. Lips slowly raised to bare small little lion fangs. She should go and find someone to help, maybe an older pokemon or something. With a sigh she shook his head. There was no time if she wanted to protect that puppy. Suddenly she bolted from her hiding place towards the scary human, seeing the fainted poochyena. Poor thing She thought before glaring, trying to run up behind it and Tackle the human.

Lydian sighed when the little Poochyena fainted in front of him, obviously in a world of pain from the fire. He had forgotten that burns from a Houndoom's fire would always hurt. " I'm sorry, little one," he whispered softly, the fire dying on his arms into just a little dance against the skin of his palm. " I'm sorry." He then reached to his silver chain belt, unhooking a Pokeball from it and tossing it into the air. " Pokeball, go," he commanded, gaze firm. He hated that he'd had to hurt the poor thing, but there was no other choice, he wouldn't have been able to catch the Pokemon otherwise. His eyes watched the ball spin before he saw a flash of blue in the grass. A Shinx had appeared as well. He smirked, taking his eyes from the Pokeball. For a moment, he thought about simply side-stepping the attack, but why bother when it was coming at him in a straight line? Smirking darkly, he raised up a hand, the dark purple flames flaring to life again at his mental command. " Flamethrower!" he yelled in a cold voice, the dark fire leaping to do his bidding. It wanted to lick along Pokemon flesh, and who was he to deny it that luxury? It certainly wouldn't be very sporting of him to hurt the Poochyena and not the Shinx in the same way, and Lydian was nothing if not fair. OOC: ... Lydian is SUCH a killer. DX Team-

POOCHYENA HAS BEEN CAPTURED
WILD SHINX APPEARED! [/style] Shinx || Female || Rivalry || Electric || level 8 Tackle || Leer The little lion cub hadn't seen the way the human had attacked the poochyena, didn't see the absolute destruction, so she really didn't know the full caliber of it's power. From what she knew, humans just let pokemon do their fights for them, and didn't fight themselves! So when she saw that smirk, heard that yell of a FlameThrower (if that's what it was, she couldn't understand human-speak) and didn't see a pokemon around that was capable of attacking, she knew she was in danger. So she bolted to the left, in the middle of her tackle attack, in an attempt to get away from the attack, from the burning flames. They breezed by, burning along her shoulder and her rump in the middle of her turn and causing her to yelp in pain. Stopping she turned to the human and panted heavily, glaring deeply with a Leer in hopes of lowering this strange human's defense, if he even had defense. Did these strange pokemon-humans have the same effects that pokemon have? After her leer she lunged forward again in an attempt to Tackle the human once more, knowing that for sure she would lose. But she had to go down fighting! That's what her mother taught her.

Lydian raised his hand confidently, letting the Pokeball smack into his palm with a loud, intimidating sound. He'd toss the little Poochyena out, but the poor Pokemon had probably had enough for one day. He would let the poor boy rest for a few days, recover his strength back and come to terms with the fact that he was now owned by a Gijinka. He would have to keep up with a name for the little Poochyena. Ragnarok, he was thinking. Yes, he liked that. Ragnarok. It was intimidating. He smirked softly at the Pokeball, tucking it onto his belt, before he lifted his gaze onto the Shinx, meeting her Leer with an even face. " Please, you don't scare me," he scoffed, tossing his hair back off his face. " You only try to act tough, you're not tough at all." He rolled his eyes when the Shinx darted forward to Tackle him again, standing his ground. In fact, he even began walking forward towards her, making sure to look at her all the while. " C'mon, little sweetheart," he stated softly and calmly, his voice akin to one if he was attempting to soothe a wild animal, which in a sense he was. Suddenly, just when he was about to get hit with the attack, he smirked and threw a punch forward, shadows trailing along behind his fist. " Faint Attack!" he snarled, eyes gleaming maniacally. He always loved a good fight. OOC: ... Lydi's feeling violent today... >.> Team: Ragnarok EDIT: Last mon for this thread! No offense or anything, Risa, but I got a lot of new Pokemon since I started this, so as soon as I catch this, I'm going to start a new thread with all of them.

WILD SHINX APPEARED! [/style] Shinx || Female || Rivalry || Electric || level 8 Tackle || Leer Even as the human's first taunting and then deceptively sweet - though incomprehensible - words hit her large ears, the Shinx knew better than to falter in her final charge because of them. How could she, after seeing the way he'd menaced the poor puppy from earlier? Oh, no, she wasn't fooled by his false display of remorse or honeyed words as he stepped toward her. This pokemon-human was one of those kind of people, she knew: the kind who abused poor pokemon for the fun of it, the kind her mother sometimes told her about. But what was done as done, and even if she couldn't do anything to save that puppy, at least she could put a monster of a bruise on the not-quite-human's skin to remember her by!
The little cub growled ferociously one last time as she closed the gap between them, ready to go out in a blaze of glory, when the pokemon-human smirked wickedly and snapped out a shadow-wrapped fist that caught the electric-type mid-jump as she leaped at him. The Shinx's eyes widened for an instant as the Feint Attack smashed into her head but they never lost the defiant glint in them, not even when a yowl of agony ripped from her throat as her little body went sailing away like a ragdoll. But the punch had done its job and done it well and once she hit the ground, the little lion didn't even have the strength left to get up. There was only a blinding pain spreading from her head to the rest of her body, and when the darkness on the edge of her vision surged forth to overtake her it was almost a relief. As she finally slipped into that waiting darkness, she wondered briefly what her mother would have thought of that last charge, but then the light and her thoughts sputtered out at once, leaving her question forever unanswered.
WILD SHINX FAINTED! IT CAN NOW BE CAUGHT!

Lydian smirked in triumph as he watched the Shinx's body crumple into his fist, the slightest edge of fang glinting wickedly out from behind his lips. Ah... how he loved to be cruel, to feel flesh giving underneath his hand. It was one of the greatest feelings in the world. He would rather die than let it slip away from him. For that one brief moment, he was in control of his life, he was in control of everything. He could choose to open his hand and scorch the other individual to a crisp... or he could keep it closed and instead leave them with pain to remember him by. It was no different now, with his abilities to rip and tear clamoring at him. But he forced them back down. People liked a good Shinx. They were small, yes, but they had the potential to grow powerful in their own right. A Luxray could be quite a formidable ally with the right training. Not the type for Lydian himself, of course, he would much rather have a Houndoom at his side, but a Shinx would do, at least for trading purposes. He might get something good for it. With his decision made to capture the little Pokemon dumb enough to attack him, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a Pokeball, expanding it with a touch and then tossing it at the unmoving body of the Shinx. Even if the Pokemon wasn't going to stay with him for long, he still needed it in a Pokeball before he could attempt to trade it for something. OOC: *cuddles the Cori* Thank you for letting me end this. XD Really am sorry Risa if/when you do read this. I just did not want to shove a full team into the thread for no reason and they need the levels. Badly. Team- Ragnarok

WILD SHINX APPEARED! [/style] Shinx || Female || Rivalry || Electric || level 8 Tackle || Leer Shiver...shiver...shake...ping! With the soft chime of the locking mechanism the Shinx became one of the luckier ones; because she had potential to be useful as trade materials, she would be spared death and for that she should be grateful. Yet there was always the chance that fate could be cruel and place her in the hands of a trainer just as bad as the one who so effortlessly bested her. So, in the end, was it really worth it? Only time would tell.
WILD SHINX WAS CAUGHT!

Lydian easily caught the Pokeball in his hand, smirking down at it. What a lucky find this had been, managing to capture this Shinx. He knew they were pretty popular, so it would all work out like this. He got a Pokemon to maybe trade for a better one, or even sell, and even better, he'd gotten a Dark-type out of this. Things were obviously looking up for him. Clipping the Shinx to the chain belt snaking around his waist, he shoved his hands into his pockets and continued sauntering through the area in the direction he had come from. He knew one of these old ruins had to be in good enough repair for him to make a home there. Or something. He rather didn't want to be sleeping out in the cold and finding shelter wherever he could like he had previously. Like it or not, Lydian did have standards after all. And this trip... this trip managed to fulfill them. Hopefully his next excursion would be just as much of a successful one.
OOC: THREAD ENDED!
