Lydian's head was high as he walked through the Abandoned Suburbs, ignoring the decrepit buildings on either side of him and even the scamperings of the few Pokemon still in the area, all of them terrified that this angry beast had returned. He was in his territory now, and as such, a little more confidence snuck its way into his swagger. Nothing could hurt him here, not in his territory. Part of him was a little wary for what Erik would think of his home, it being fairly obvious now that Lydian did not live in anywhere most would deem "habitable" for people, but his own fierce Houndoom pride refused to let him dwell on it. If his Beta didn't want to be here, then Lydian would just have to convince him to stay with lots of growling and pinning. This was Lydian's home, and as Lydian's Beta, it was Erik's duty to accept that! Besides, he had all the essentials! There was a bed, blankets, some clothes, and all of it fairly rain-free considering about half the buildings had collapsed rooves. Mordred was circling above his head, and Ragnarok was running ahead to sniff things out, Lancelot hanging back with his Trainer dutifully. There was no telling what could be lurking here, so it was best to be cautious, after all... OOC: Whee, new thread time <3 Also, this is likely going to be the one where if I randomly get new Pokemon, they show up in here. >.> Team-

In all honesty, Erik has never wandered far from Aether before, and while he's heard of all the different places, he's never actually had the time nor interest to seek them out because he was simply too busy helping his mother make sure they had enough food for dinner. It was only after his mother's death did Erik begin travelling, and as such the boy was often staring wide eyed at new things.
This new place was no different, and whilst one of his hands was curled against Lydian's arm, the other hitched his bag higher as he stared, taking in the abandoned, almost haunted-looking area. Occasionally, he would jump when a faraway scamper or call of wild Pokemon frightened him, but other then that, to be honest Erik was not all too surprised that Lydian stayed here. He wouldn't expect such a gruff looking guy to stay anywhere else, and in all honesty, Erik didn't mind. As long as he wasn't about to get eaten alive at night, he was fine no matter where he was.
Besides, he wasn't inclined to leave Lydian anyway, if he had anything to say about it.
But this place still was barren and dry and just... lacking. Not of amenities, the basic necessities were all there afterall, and they could always go scrounge for food somewhere. No, what Erik thought it lacked was things that would make it more... warm, nice, livable, not just habitable. As his eyes assessed the place, occasionally his sapphire gaze would linger on a building longer, trying to wonder if that was the one Lydian would bring him to, yet foiled each time as they walked on by. Finally unable to contain himself anymore, Erik asked softly "Do you stay in one of these buildings?"

Lydian was confident here that he was one of the strongest creatures in the area, had been for a very long time. Most of the Pokemon knew to avoid his home by this point, and the ones who didn't learned. Quickly. As in Flamethrower-to-the-face quickly. The feeling of Erik's hands around his arm was reassuring slightly, easing him into a slightly wary walk that he had not taken inside his territory in a long time. He did not want his Beta to be hurt here, and the jolt the smaller male would get whenever something startled him only set the Houndoom Gijinka on edge. Erik was his to protect, and he would do so, but this was his territory. He should not be so frightened inside of his own territory, his home. Still, if this was the price his instincts wanted him to pay for finding such a submissive Beta, then so be it. He would take the jumpiness and wariness over not having Erik any day. He couldn't explain it exactly, mainly because he didn't understand it himself, but living without Erik... it seemed an unbearable thought to him. He chuckled at the sight of Erik trying to figure out which of the abandoned houses was his. It was... strangely heartwarming to see the Sableye Gijinka so interested in him. "I do stay in one of these," he chuckled, a growl threatening to escape his chest with his mirth, a foreign emotion to the raven-haired male. "It's a good ways further down though, so you don't have to be so bouncy to get to it. We'll get there when we get there." OOC: Short post is short and full of failure. Team-

"Why did you have to choose a place so far though? Wouldn't it be horribly far to walk back each time you came back here?" he asked, curious as to his reason. If Erik were picking, he'd have chosen a house at the nearest to the edge of the Abandoned Sector, so at the very least, he didn't have to trudge a long way home even after reaching the area. But then again, Erik would never have chosen to live in a place where so many wild Pokemon roamed, a place where it looked as if she could be crushed by a building alone.
Walking gingerly alongside Lydian, the dark haired Houndoom gijinka was probably the only thing preventing Erik from bolting each time he heard something now. Sure he was still a little fidgety, but he trusted Lydian to protect him, with everything, enough that he would've gladly closed his eyes and just walk as long as Lydian was leading him.
Padding along, his inquisitive eyes still taking everything in as they went, the guy curiously asked again, if only to try and mask his impatience at seeing Lydian's living quarters "Why did you choose to live here anyway?" [/style] |

Erik looked surprisingly cute sulking, Lydian found to his amusement. He had a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he watched Erik look about again. "It usually isn't, it's actually placed right in the middle of the area, so I have to walk equally far to get to wherever it is I need to go." It hadn't taken too much trouble to clear out the wild Pokemon from his home and to teach them not to mess with him. By this point, they were well aware that antagonizing him meant certain doom for them and only a momentary inconvenience for him. And as for the structural integrity, well, he had examined them enough to determine that the building was not about to fall down around his ears, which was good enough for him. It was almost cute how obviously scared Erik was at his surroundings. Lydian let out a dark chuckling noise, unable to help himself. "Hush, Erik, it's okay. Nothing will hurt you here so long as you are with me. The Pokemon know that I am the Alpha here and this is my territory." He continued moving before he stopped, closing his eyes in pain at the question. "I'd rather not talk about it, okay?" he stated roughly, perhaps a deal harsher than he would have liked, but the words were already spilling forth. "Let's just say I don't have another home and leave it at that." OOC: *cough* Lastplacehesawhissister *hack* Team-

But still, Erik couldn't help but be intimidated by the whole atmosphere of it all, abandoned and deserted, with only a few scuttling Pokemon here and there, if only because it was his natural reaction to shy awayat things that frightened him.
Looking up when Lydian reassured him though, the guy smiled softly at that, and stood on his toes for a second to press a light kiss on Lydian's bottom jaw (about the only place he can reach without jumping), and then continueing on his pace next to Lydian.
When his question was met with a rough, harsh response though, this time Erik's jerk wasn't from a Pokemon, but from the surprise of how a simple harsh tone from Lydian could cut him like that. Erik bit his lip in worry, not saying another word as he turned his eyes down, grip loosening on Lydian's arm in uncertainty. Was he annoying now? Would Lydian throw him away now? Maybe he should just keep quiet, in case he annoyed Lydian further, and Erik's heart broke at the idea that Lydian might abandoned him to be all alone again. [/style] |

Lydian was appalled at his own reaction when he felt Erik's lips press into the bottom of his jaw. He purred. He fucking purred like a Purrloin kitten. Er, no, that was something he could vaguely see happening. Maybe. If he had been given Liepard DNA, he might have gotten yellow eyes instead of red ones. No, he decided he was going to go with purred like a Persian. Absolutely no similarity there whatsoever. Yes. He was not a cat. He was a Houndoom, a big strong Houndoom Gijinka who would kill anyone who crossed his path. Well, aside from Erik. Erik was special. He would not be killed for crossing Lydian's path, but no one else would be spared! He couldn't contain a soft growl at the loosening of the hand around his arm. He'd known as soon as he'd said the words that they would hurt Erik. He stopped, sighing heavily and bringing a hand up to massage his temples. "Look, I didn't mean to say it like that, all right?" he stated, eyes closed and not looking at Erik. He just had a gut feeling that if he did, he would immediately lose his nerve and his instincts would start attacking him for the look he just knew was on the boy's face. "It's just... this was the last place I saw my sister at, okay?" OOC: I have nothing to say. >.> Team-

Sure, he growled a lot, in fact Erik's beginning to be able to distinguish which growlings actually meant harm, and which were just his declarations of like. But this purr? This was just amusing, and for anyone who didn't know him, they might have thought he was a Purrloin or some other feline gijinka. Erik smartly decided not to say anything though, feeling that Lydian would probably flip if he did.
Lydian being rough did sort of worry him though. He's grown so attached to Lydian, what was he going to do if Lydian ever decided he got bored of him? Erik didn't know. He might languish away in his own pool of self pity maybe, but he was scared that Lydian might ever abandon him. Looking up with a pair of swimming eyes when Lydian close, the guy bit his lip, and gulped at the explanation. "I'm sorry." he murmured softly, letting his hands slip down to lace their fingers together. Squeezing the hands tightly, the guy was wordless for a minute, trying to figure out something to say.
"I'm here now." Erik finally said, in his attempt to try and be neutrel, and at the same time lighten up the situation. With another squeeze of his hand, this time Erik pressed a kiss to Lydian's forearm as they walked. "You won't be alone anymore." [/style] |

Lydian opened his ruby eyes to stare into the single sapphire orb only for his heart to be immediately harpooned. Tears were beading in Erik's eyes, and oh, that liquid flew straight to destroy the Houndoom Gijinka's heart. Immediately, a little whine escaped his throat before he tamped it down, not wanting to obey his instincts right now. His pride wouldn't let him. He was not going to drop to his knees in the middle of the Abandoned Sector, draw his head to the side to expose his throat, and beg for Erik's forgiveness and mercy. That was insane. Not only would it cause every one of those he had intimidated to no longer take him seriously, but it would also chafe away at his pride, which was most of what he had left. No, he would instead make the effort to try to soothe Erik without all that. If all else failed, he'd carry the Sableye Gijinka back to his home and do it there. He held Erik's hand tightly, refusing to let him go. Not yet. Not now. Not when his instincts were still pounding through him with every thump of his heart, telling him to make things right. The kiss on his forearm reassured him slightly, lightening his gloom a little, but his instincts still pushed for him to fix it. "There's nothing for you to be sorry for," he murmured, leaning down to gently nuzzle Erik's hair. "You're at my side now and that's all that matters." OOC: So sweet <3 *dies of fangirling* Team-

Perhaps that was why everyone seemed to love bullying him so much, because they were amused by his reaction. But not Lydian. Erik's heart swelled when he heard the whine, wondering of Lydian was distressed by his watery eyes. Not liking that though, preferring to see the Gijinka's pride, the guy quickly drew the back of his hands over his eye to get rid of it, and then turned to give a reassuring smile at Lydian.
His eyes drifted close when he felt Lydian nuzzle his hair, and Erik hummed softly at his words, chuckling lightly before he tilted his head lightly, changing its angle so he could touch his lips with Lydian's bent down head, eagerly kissing the Houndoom gijinka as long as he could reach him without having to go on his toes.
"Mmm, and I won't leave." the guy murmured lightly against Lydian's lip, pulling back after a bit to blink at his surroundings, as if reality was hitting him back. Tugging at Lydian's hand as if to coax him to continue walking, the guy bit his lip as he continued his earlier seeking. "Are we there yet?" Lydian's instincts began to calm at the gentle smile, though not as much as he did as soon as he heard the gentle hum from deep within the Sableye Gijinka's throat. That sound told him that everything was okay now, that he had been forgiven and that the smaller male was happier now. He tightened his arms around Lydian gently, holding him close, and then let out a soft growl of pleasure when their lips connected. Sure, he was getting a crick in his neck from having to bend down to kiss Erik, and he doubted that Erik was in too comfortable a position either, but his instincts told him that it was such a comfortable place to be that he should try to stay as long as he could. He growled softly at the words, ruby eyes lighting up at the unspoked promise, and then attempting to follow him when he pulled away. His lips turned down in a sultry sulk, he rolled his eyes at the request. "Yeah, we're close," he stated, bending down now to press a kiss to Erik's forehead before straightening, tightening his grip on the boy's hand with a sudden twinge of possessiveness he couldn't quite manage to tamp down before he had acted already on that whim. "Just a few more houses down in the little cul-de-sac, that will be ours." Yes, theirs. It wasn't just Lydian's, not anymore... OOC: My brain is dead. @.@ Team-

Not that the guy was bragging or anything, but he felt so contented at how Lydian seemed to care for him, Erik might start purring himself if he wasn't careful. The guy chuckled at the pout when he pulled away from their kiss, but made no move to go back. Don't get him wrong, Erik really liked kissing Lydian, perhaps a bit too much sometimes. But he also wanted to see this little dwelling Lydian said he had, and was anxious to get there.
So being much like a child excited on holiday, he grinned, humming softly as Lydian kissed him on his forehead, and quickly tugging Lydian forward. Following his instructions, the guy quickly ran further down in to what was clearly a dead end turning, passing a couple of dilapated, rundown building before his eyes fell upon one that looked rather lived in.
Not that it looked like a house Erik usually sees in Aether that is, none of the houses in the Sector looked anywhere near that. But this one that caught Erik's attention was somewhat closed to being habitable, and the guy paused in his mini jogging steps whilst tugging Lydian along to stare at it, and then point while turning a questioning look at Lydian. Lydian was content enough to follow what Erik wanted, allowing himself to be pulled this way and that down the familiar streets, Mordred nowhere to be seen in the sky and Ragnarok waiting at the corner for them even as Lancelot followed behind cautiously, ready and wary for anything and everything to happen should things go wrong. He had never seen Lydian in such a light mood - aside from the few occasions of the bitter Houndoom Gijinka taking a perverse kind of sadistic pleasure at causing trouble from others - and he was determined to keep his Trainer like that so as to ensure he mellowed out considerably. Yes, Lydian was in a much better place now that he had found Erik, and he would do anything to keep him in that place too. The house Lydian had chosen was easily the most habitable there was. One side of the roof was caved in, slicing the building firmly in two, but it worked well to keep the rain out from underneath it despite that, though the wind could sometimes cause quite the chill because of it. The walls were stone, though they had various scorch marks upon them from his fits of childish anger. The inside was easy to picture, bare gray walls without adornment or decoration, and then... upstairs, his sanctuary. A soft bed made so by a multitude of blankets and pillows, all filled with his own scent, and a small cherry wardrobe filled with his clothes. He looked forward to being home again. Catching Erik's single visible sapphire eye, he nodded, not needing to say anything more. OOC: ... Erik should live there, Lydi says. *nod nod* Team-

Peering in cautiously, the Sableye gijinka stepped in, and gave a light shiver at the cold draft that seemed to waft around. Dropping his bag, the guy looked around curiously, frowning at the scorch marks on the walls, as well as at the bareness of it all.
Glancing back at Lydian as if for reassurance that he was still there, Erik quickly padded up the stairs, and then give a small smile when he saw the soft bed from a pile of blankets and pillows, as well as the wardrobe. At least he wasn't sleeping the ground, Erik told himself.
But still, this would not do. Running over to the stairs, he called out downstairs. "Are going to get a bed for me?" he asked curiously, trotting easily down the stairwell to peer curiously at Lydian, wondering if the other gijinka would prefer Erik sleeping on his own. The guy was a little nervous for Lydian's answer though, especially since he's discovered that he liked sleeping being cuddled up against Lydian like last night. The prospect of sleeping alone was just simply not right anymore. [/style] |

Lydian chuckled when he saw Erik run towards his home, Ragnarok nipping along behind the Sableye Gijinka right at his heels. The Houndoom followed at his own pace, a comfortable swagger in his step even as he slipped a hand into his pocket. Lancelot, seeing as his Trainer was alone again, darted up to look at him, and the Houndoom Gijinka merely glared down at him impassively. "What are you looking at?" he huffed, a normal occurence for him, but what kept Lancelot from slinking back like he usually did... was the simple fact that it wasn't said with as much of a bite to the tone as it usually was. He let the Sableye explore for a bit, padding into the little kitchenette area to explore. A lot of it was dusty and ill-suited for cooking or storing food, but enough of it worked. He kept some water cool enough in the old run-down refridgerator, and he had hauled out the stove and replaced it with a good supply of wood and tinder, since it was easy for him to make a good fire and then he was okay enough at cooking over it to make do. The one thing he was glad about the place though was that the power still worked well enough, apparently run by electricity from some of the Pokemon nearby, and that the plumbing didn't fail him. Hearing Erik's call, however, he stuck his head around the doorframe to chuckle darkly and show off a classic smirk for the Dark-Type Gijinka. "Relax, Erik, you'll be sleeping in with me. I have no problem in letting you cuddle up with me at night. It'll probably keep you warmer too, what with part of the roof missing there." OOC: Lydi's being kind, it's the end of the world! *runs to bomb shelter* Team-
