Lydian found himself strangely... at ease around Erik. It was soothing to him to have the male nearby. He could even scent him on the occasional breeze that wafted the scent over to him, and oh how it made the tension seep out of his muscles easily. There was nothing wrong with Erik being nearby. He was not a threat, not in the least. Usually Lydian did not like strangers, they found it entertaining to poke and prod at him and interrupt his solitude, and although this boy had done the exact same thing more or less, none of Lydian's instincts or ire was disturbed by it. The last person who had been in such a position with him... had been his twin sister. Who was this stranger to arouse such powerful feelings in him? And more importantly... why couldn't he find the want in him to be upset about it? He was even shocked to find that a small part of him, the part of him closest to the Houndoom he had been infused with, wanted him to curl around this boy and just inhale his scent, something he had never done, not even with his sister. What was going on with him? Lydian's attention, however, was diverted from his internal crisis by a rustle from the bushes. Focusing his crimson gaze on it, he began stalking towards it slowly, attention riveted on it even as he cautiously expanded his senses to try to locate the Pokemon nearby. He could hear Ragnarok and what was likely an Eevee, and maybe a few other Pokemon he blocked out as pointless. None of his and likely none of Erik's either. A low growl, a warning, escaped his throat as he stalked closer, instinct driving him now, before he let out a loud Roar to try to scare away whatever it was in the bushes that was attempting to threaten them. OOC: In my head, Lydi's like... when did the me become a them? Team-

Yet for Erik, some innate sense in him was telling him that this mysterious guy he had just met today, barely an hour ago, would never harm him, not intentionally at least. His nerves didn't even tingle around him, at least not in a dangerous manner, and the guy merely sat with his eyes cocoked in an amused manner at him, only noticing the rustle in the bushes when Lydian himself turned to it, and then began to stalk towards it.
Curious, Erik scrambled up and blinked in curiosity, not at all sure what was Lydian trying to do. "Lydian? What's going on?" his soft voice murmured, stepping closer towards where Lydian stood staring at the rustling bushes. The sudden roar from Lydian made him jump however, before it finally clicked in Erik's brain what was happnening, and he scurried forward to quickly tug on Lydian's shirt, his empathy winning out again. "Don't do that! It might just be a hurt Pokemon wanting help." Erik protested, tugging until Lydian stood back, before cautiously moving forward towards the bushes.
Sometimes, people wondered if Erik had any sense of self-preservation at all. But most of the time, Erik's empathy and need to help won out over trying to keep himself safe, and occasionaly that instead got him in trouble. This... happened to be one of those times. Within seconds, a loud yelp came from Erik, and instinctively black electricity surrounded the other hand before it shot out to knock off the row of teeth clamping down on his hand in his own knock off attack, and Erik could stumble backwards with his left hand stinging red, a whimper escaping the young boy's lips.[/style]

Lydian heard Erik saying a few words, but he wasn't really listening, not that much. He was, however, very much aware of the smaller male stepping forward, closer and closer to him, which ruled out his best option for an attack, his Inferno. He did not want to hurt the poor boy. He couldn't contain a snarl when hands began tugging on his shirt, wheeling to glare at him with burning bloody eyes full of nothing but a raging storm... and then, suddenly, it calmed a little. In most cases, he would simply have shrugged and said it was the idiot's own fault if it hurt him... but for this, for Erik, he did not want to allow for that. Instead, he allowed himself to fall back, the slightest hint of a growl still rumbling in his chest uneasily even as he subconsciously placed himself behind Erik in a protective manner. At the sound of the yelp, however, he let out a loud Howl that was almost an alarm call, darting forward like a protective black shadow in front of the smaller male. " Flamethrower!" he commanded in a harsh voice that almost seemed more of a snarl than an actual word, a fierce pillar of flame shooting out from his hands to catch the Pokemon across the chest. His instincts satisfied for now, he then turned about, now concerned as to Erik's own well-being. At the sight of ruby droplets on the little one's left hand, he let out an abbreviated growl, cutting himself to steal closer and gently snatch up the hand in his own, bringing it up to his lips to lick off the blood to try to get the balm in his saliva - which, since he wasn't actually a Houndoom, wasn't really there no matter what his instincts insisted to the contrary - into the wound to heal it up and disinfect it. Instinct was driving him now, and he was powerless to direct it in a different course now that it had been awakened. OOC: See, Erik, he does love you in a sense... he'd kill Pokemon for you. XD Team-

The pain was tingling, not too deep, but still enough to draw blood. But perhaps what shocked Erik more then the Pokemon attacking him, was how Lydian darted in front and almost incinerated the mysterious Pokemon, who proceeded to dissapear after getting hit by the flamethrower, before the other guy came over to him, almost like a pet puppy.
Erik blinked, wide eyed and staring whilst Lydian licked at his wound, almost like a canine would. What gijinka was he... a Vulpix? A growlithe? A houndoom? Some form of fire type, that much Erik was sure. But he was also sure that as much as Lydian was a gijinka, the humans saliva did nothing to help in healing, so collecting himself, Erik gently touched Lydian's shoulder. "That's not gonna work." the small guy murmured with a gentle smile, and curled his hands around the other one that held his earlier, before tugging at Lydian and pulling him towards the Lake they had sat by just minutes earlier.
Coaxing Lydian to sit down, murmuring soft "I'm fine."'s to him, Erik moved over to the lake and knelt there, bringing the water to wash so that the crimson blood stopped dripping, and eventually only an open wound lay there, just waiting to dry up and heal on its own. Only then, did Erik move back to Lydian, using his shirt to dry his hand as he settled down next to Lydian. "Sorry about that. This isn't the first time that's happened. Don't worry bout it." Erik offered first, genially smiling as he pulled up his legs to his chest again.
Wincing as he accidentally brushed against the tender skin, Erik arranged his limbs so they lay carefully on top of each other, before Erik directed the next question at him. "You're a gijinka too, eh?"[/style]

Lydian let out a soft growl of protest when the injury was pulled out of his reach, flickering his eyes downwards to stare down at the sapphire one of his companion. It was... so handsome. Hypnotizing even. That was part of what allowed Erik to drag him to the lakeside despite an instinctual dislike of water stemming from the fact that he was a Houndoom Gijinka. He settled down close to Erik's side, his senses still on high alert for any other attempts on them. He was a dangerous individual, one who had no problem with attacking first to prevent a counter-blow, and he would hold to that if he had to. He watched Erik carefully, eyes following him as closely as if he were the prey Lydian was intending to pounce upon, and then he stopped, calming slightly when the smaller was at his side once more. "I'll worry about it if I want to worry about it," he sulked, glaring lightly in reproach. "After all, I may not be weak to it, but I still wouldn't want to get bitten." He couldn't contain himself when he saw Erik wince in pain, and luckily, Lancelot seemed to be on the same page too, running up with a roll of bandages hooked over one of his sword-like arms. Grabbing Erik's hand again, he settled in next to him, snatching the bandages and beginning to roll gently. He would probably use up the last of the bandaging he had, but hey, it would be worth it to settle this strange tugging feeling on his heart, the one that insisted he take care of the smaller male. "Yeah, Houndoom," he stated, keeping his attention firmly focused on the bandaging. "My sister is as well, though I haven't seen her for a long time now. I just... I hope she hasn't been caught by Epispect, you know?" He had probably tipped his hand there, shown a little too much, but what better way was there to measure his reaction? OOC: ... Am I seeing him back-pedal on this one? *sweatdrops* Team-

Quite swurprisingly, whilst Erik usually didn't like other people scrutinizing him, the fact that Lydian watched him so carefully didn't phase Erik at all, and he simply moved about doing his own things before he finally settled back down next to the guy, chuckling lightly when Lydian sulked. "And who says I'm weak to it, mister?" the younger male protested genially.
Well, he guessed it would do no harm to bandage it, although Erik made a mental note to get more bandages next time they were near a town. Letting Lydian satisfy this odd need to tend to him, Erik used the free arm of his to hug his leg to himself, and satisfied his curiosity in studying Lydian, finding himself fascinated with this man who seemed tough and hardy outside, but somehow made Erik want to stay and make sure he still retained that part of him that was human. It was like as if while Lydian seemed to want to protect Erik physically, Erik wanted to be there to balance out Lydian mentally, giving off some fun for the guy at least.
Listening when Lydian spoke, Erik instinctively seemed to curl his fingers tigheter around the hand holding up his injured ones as he listened. "She'll be fine, if she's anything like you are." Erik finally commented good naturedly, giving a cheeky little grin. "Besides, if she isn't, we can always go get her right?" Now when did a he become a we? God, Erik had no idea, but he just had no inclination of leaving Lydian anytime soon. Besides, the sun was close to gone now, light dissapearing and night descending, and to be honest, Erik had no desire to spend the night alone. 'Sides, his Pidgey was already roosting in the tree, and his Eevee laid curled up at the foot of aforementioned tree, and they would be canky if Erik woke them up.
So instead, Erik offered a little tidbit of himself as well, feeling that it was only fair. "I've always been hunted by Epispect, ever since my momma stole the DNA for me to get better. They killed my dad, so I've lived with my mom until recently. " he said softly, his chin now resting on his propped up knees as the one uncovered diamond-eye of his stared at the work Lydian was doing, as if enraptured by the other guy. "She died a couple of years ago."[/style]

Lydian had no idea why, but romping and playing with Erik seemed almost like a natural urge from deep inside him, just as much a part of him as the urge to breathe and to strike out at anything that hurt him. He was comfortable around the smaller, though that might have been because of the basic pack mentality that Houndooms had and that had carried over into Lydian as well. Lydian was, in a sense, the Alpha male right now, protecting and caring for his pack, and Erik was falling almost perfectly into that of a Beta, strong in his own right but not at all challenging to his own position. No, Lydian was comfortable with Erik because he had come up in a submissive manner, presenting himself - more or less anyway - for Lydian's approval and didn't even seem scared of him. Still, he didn't have time for things like that, playing about. He had to instead work to finish taking care of Erik, to make him comfortable and safe so that he could continue watching him. He was aware of Erik moving to pull himself smaller, an act that had his Gijinka side letting off a soft growl of contentment at the submissive display to a dominant creature nearby, and of the single sapphire eye running over him to examine him. That was okay. His new Beta - why he was using the term his subconscious had supplied he didn't even know - could study him all he liked so long as he did not attempt to defy the raven-haired Houndoom. "She's a proud one, my sister, used to the good things," Lydian stated softly, finding that he had reached the end of the bandage with all of the wound covered, his hand working to tie it off while Lancelot scampered off again to dispose of the empty roll, "though that could have changed since I saw her last. She's a survivor though, so I don't doubt that she's made a home for herself somewhere." He lifted his head, staring out at his surroundings carefully. It was getting dark now, and as such he should probably find a good place to sleep. He spotted Ragnarok in the gloom stealing towards the sleeping Eevee, no doubt intending on cuddling into the little Pokemon instead of his Trainer tonight, while Lancelot was tidying up the Pokeballs on Lydian's belt whether they were occupied or not. He then looked down again to see Erik's sapphire eye glittering softly in the night. He didn't know what to say. Apologies would do nothing to bring someone back. "I'm sure she doesn't regret it," he stated awkwardly, unsure how to offer protection now but doing his best to follow his instincts anyway. "And I'm glad that she did, for all the trouble that it's caused you. If she hadn't... I wouldn't have met you." OOC: Dawwwww, you're so sweet Lydi <3 Team-

Whilst it had been amusing to Erik earlier, he also detected a tinge of something that was more then just self-pity, and Erik found himself wanting to stay, if just to change that. But how exactly do you bring something like that up? Lydian might not want his company, for all that seemed as if he was taking care of Erik. Maybe he was just being nice, because to Erik, Lydian was capable of being nice.
Cocking his head to listen again, Erik gave a smile, recognizing that his sister was perhaps a lot like himself. Both hardened survivors, who would never let anyone capture them, independent and strong. But at the same time, Erik couldn't help but wonder if his sister was a slonely as Lydian was... or if she was as good looking as Erik found the Houndoom gijinka.
Despite the dark surroundings, Erik could still see perfectly, his eyes glittering in the night, as he noted how Chaos had curled up with his bushy tail over his nose, barely noticing as the Poochyena cuddled in to him. Chaos usually was a light sleeper, but perhaps he liked the extra warmth with him now.
Glancing back at Lydian, Erik gave a small smile at the awkwardness, and pulled his bandaged hand away from Lydian. Leaning forward, Erik used the unharmed hand to balance himself on the ground, before pressing a quick kiss on Lydian's cheek. "You're a sweet guy, Lydian. I'm glad I met you too." Erik murmured as he pulled back. He wasn't at all sure why was he glad to meet Lydian... he just was. Something about Lydian made Erik gravitate towards him, as if it was a forcefield he couldn't say no to. As it was, Erik thought it impossible to tear his eyes away from Lydian, as if the world could go down in flames around him and all he wanted to look at were those pair of crimson eyes that went so well with the rest of the Houndoom gijinka's features. Lydian was glad to sense that no one would bother them tonight. Apparently the Pokemon had been scared off by his Roar earlier, and now he was free to spend the time as he pleased, perhaps even get some good shut eye in peace. Wild Pokemon usually stayed away from him after a good Roar, frightened by the raw pain and anger in it. It was a sound more akin to that of an injured beast who had lost its only mate rather than that of what it really was, a lone boy with Houndoom DNA and hardly a tie to anyone in the world. As such, he supposed that he ought to find them a good place to sleep for the night, somewhere safe and dry and warm, preferably where wild Pokemon would not be able to get at them and where Lydian could keep a close eye on the surroundings to protect him. Houndooms may have good night vision, after all, but they weren't the best as some types of Pokemon or Gijinka. They weren't brought up in, say, a cave where there was next to no light at all. Lancelot picked up the chain belt, already knowing where his Trainer would likely end up sleeping. He threw the silvery snake up into the tree, hooking it over a tree branch to stay and then yawning as he settled at the bottom of the trunk in a watchful position. He would sleep later, as he always did, ready and willing to serve his Trainer faithfully the same way he always would. The Houndoom Gijinka hadn't been expecting the kiss to the cheek, and so he hadn't attempted to avoid it, his ruby eyes wide with surprise. The last person to kiss him... had been his sister long ago, a single one to the cheek before she'd turned and left him. It had been cold and dry, emotionless almost, and while Erik's lips hadn't been wet either, they had been chapped slightly and very warm, sending a sort of tingling feeling down into his chest that made him almost wonder if he was some kind of Flying-type Gijinka instead, a Murkrow perhaps. He may not know exactly what Erik was or exactly why he seemed to have so much control over Lydian, but he didn't really care either. "C'mon," he stated gruffly, getting to his feet. "It's late and we should sleep." With that, he began padding towards the tree, expecting Erik to follow him. In his experience, a tree was a good place to sleep, better than a lot of other locations since even though the drop was intimidating, there was less chance of disturbances, especially when one had a pushy Murkrow to keep the other Flying-types away. OOC: They're so cute. <3 Team-

He may have excellent night vision with his Sableye DNA, but his hearing was not exactly top notch. Sure, he knew of the need for protection when you slept outside in the jungle or forests, where wild Pokemon could chance upon you and decide to use you for battle fodder whenever, but... Erik would rather take that over sleeping at some high up place. Because you see, the guy was... let's just say he wasn't fond of heights. He can't even climb a tree properly, for heaven's sake!
When Lydian had began gruffly getting up with his words after Erik's offered kiss, the dark haired boy hid an amused chuckle and scrambled up to follow him, glad that he didn't have to make himself look as eager as a puppy and ask if he could spend the night with Lydian. When Erik eventually realized that the Houndoom gijinka was walking towards the tree though, Erik stoned in his steps, and blinked wide-eyed as realization sank in.
Giving the drop from the bough to the ground a good, calculating look, his head slowly began to shake from side to side as Erik spoke. "No. Just... no. I'm not going to sleep in a tree. I can't even climb that tree!" he protested softly, biting his lip as the guy warily but determinedly switched his ice gaze on Lydian. "I'll sleep on the ground. Its fine. You can go on ahead." he finally said. While he did so very much want to cave in to some instinct of his that told him to curl up next to Lydian, Erik just couldn't bring himself to sleep on a tree. How was he supposed to sleep on a tree anyway, like a slakoth? So instead, Erik bit his lip in mild dissapointment, as he instead walked back to his bag to pull out the small Flaafy wool blanket he carried around with him, all prepared to curl up by himself. A slight smile turned up the corner of Lydian's lips when he heard Erik scrambling after him, the action a major stroke to his wounded pride. At least someone recognized him as a fit representation of his kind. He thought nothing of clambering up into the lower branches of the tree, his target being a few thick branches that were close enough to each other for Lydian to be fairly certain they would allow for a comfortable sleeping hollow close to the trunk, when suddenly he became aware of Erik not being behind him anymore. Twisting about on his lower level branch, he peered down to affix his crimson gaze on the handsome male just in time to catch the determination blazing in the single sapphire orb alongside the declaration of being unable to reach Lydian's preferred sleeping hollow. That just didn't really stroke him the right way, not at all. He liked knowing that he was in a safe, comfortable position, and with Erik on the ground, he would be twitchy all night as his instincts even now told him to climb down and curl around the boy. A low growl slipped from between his teeth as he glanced back up to his chosen nest and then down to the ground where Erik was pulling out a blanket. Which was more important, safety or comfort? The choice was obvious. The Houndoom easily swung himself about, dropping to the ground with a soft thud, the impact absorbed almost silently by his legs and hips, before he padded over to the other male, wrapping his arms around his waist and leaning in close, breath huffing over a single ear. "Please, you say that as if you expect me to sleep easy without you at my side. My instincts are already driving me crazy, telling me to keep you close to me so that you will be safe and taken care of, so what makes you think that they will let me alone to sleep at the top of a tree when you are down here with nothing to protect you?" Acting on impulse alone, one he hadn't even been aware of until he'd already given into it, he leaned forward to gently nip the cartilage before giving a low chuckle, pulling away to await his Beta's choice in their sleeping location. OOC: Lydian, are you like... effing bipolar or something? Team-

But what Erik never expected was to feel the thud of a pair of feet on the ground seconds afterwards, as well as the slink of a pair of arms around his waist, making him twitch a little in surprise, whilst at the same time marvelling at how right it felt to have Lydian so close to him.
Listening with his eyes focused on a random spot on the ground whilst Lydian huffed in his ear, a little involuntary shudder passed through Erik when the guy nipped at his ear shell. What were these odd feelings the Gijinka was evoking in him? They made him feel all warm, fuzzy and tingly inside, and even made a slight pink tinge on his cheeks as he bit his lip, Erik turned to offer Lydian a shy smile, before taking the guy by the hand, and leading the dark haired elder male towards the earlier tree trunk.
While he was not going to sleep on a tree, the tree itself offered plenty protection by itself by protecting one side of them as they slept. And it was against the tree that Erik pulled Lydian down, settling the elder male to lean against the tree trunk, before he himself stretched out right next to him, and spread out the blanket so it covered the both of them form the cold night air. Funny, how he had only met Lydian just hours earlier, but he felt uttrly at ease with im. What was this odd attraction he felt for the houndoom? Fate? Instinct? Erik didn't know, he only knew that it felt impossibly right to just curl up against Lydian. "Thank you." he murmured, eyes looking up at Lydian which glimmered in respect and... was that a tinge of adoration in his eyes? No, Erik would never admit to it, but he did like watching Lydian's gruff nature. [/style]

The shy smile on Erik's face threw him off, heaving his world in one direction and not allowing him to recover before there was skin-on-skin contact and oh how he never wanted this to end. Being led about may not have been the highest thing he'd ever want on his instinctual level, but it appeased him so much to have someone so close to him where they hadn't been allowed to before. He didn't really care where they were going, so long as it was safe enough to take care of them both. He let out a soft growl, an approving one this time, at the comforting solidness at his back of the tree trunk. When Erik came down, he lifted an arm and pulled him in close to his chest, gaze fierce as the blanket covered them. He was rarely cold, one of the perks of being a Fire-Type Gijinka, but it never hurt to have a little extra warmth for them, especially to keep this one comfortable. It was natural for him to take a position of protection, and he didn't know why. Was it because he saw hints of his sister in Erik? Was it more of a desire to expand his pack and Erik had just happened to stroke him just the right way to allow for that? Or was it because of an entirely separate reason he hadn't yet figured out? Whatever it was, Lydian was thankful for it. He finally felt as if he had a purpose again to aim for in his life, and he would hardly agree to let that feeling of being needed go. Not again. "You're welcome," he murmured softly in reply, leaning down to gently nuzzle Erik's hair. Mmmmm, his scent smelled divine. Worthy of an angel. It sent all the right parts of his subconscious humming in delight. Pulling Erik in close to him, he suddenly realized something important. "You know, you never did tell me exactly what it is you are," he stated in a gentle whisper, not pushing the matter but genuinely curious. He wanted to know... maybe the answer as to why they were so drawn to each other would be there. Maybe... OOC: Wrote this up listening to Ciel's character song. Team-

He had always been on the run, constantly evading Epispect, people who dislike him for winning tournaments, people who think he looks funny, or people who just was out to get him. So with Lydian, it was a foreign yet comfortable feeling, to which Erik snuggled against as he pulled the cover over their hips, and just let it lay there as he twisted to face Lydian.
Lydian was warm, solid and all things delightful, so much so that Erik couldn't seem to be able to help himself as his arms wound themselves around his torso, and his legs twined t hemselves together with his. It seemed as if they had known each other forever, even if it had only been a few short hours, but even so Erik was loathe to leave him already, like it was just... natural for him to be there. Like moths to a flame.
Perking up when he heard Lydian speak, the guy gave a sheepish grin and bit his lip when the top of his head accidentally bumped against Lydian's chin, and Erik murmured a soft apology before he replied. "Momma gave me Sableye gijinka to cure me. Look." Untwining one hand from being curled around Lydian's waist, he moved up to pull the eye-patch off his eye, placing it next to him as the covered one blinked open, revealing a blue eye equally as dazzling as the other one. They were identical, and could almost surpass diamonds in their sparkling glory, but Erik, with his ultra sensitive eyes to light, blinked uncomfortably, and then proceeded to bury his head in to Lydian's chest. "Their very sensitive to light together, which is why I need the eyepatch. Its usually bearable at night when I sleep, its only daylight which makes it blinding."[/style]

Erik's warmth... it was comforting. Soothing, like a balm to his heart. It made him feel important, and sparing a smile for him was not as hard as it usually was when he would give one to assume his Pokemon he was all right. It felt right. Natural. He already knew he would follow this one no matter where he went, protect him no matter what he did. He didn't know exactly how or when, but somehow this boy had wormed his way into a place in his heart and managed to ensconce himself there in a manner that left Lydian completely unable to withstand the very thought of uprooting him. The feeling of arms wrapping around him and legs tangling with his own was one that only enforced this decision. Yes, Erik was his to protect and please. He could feel it deep in his bones. It was a conviction that was somehow as strong as anything he knew. The sky was blue. Fire burnt things. Erik was his. All were absolute truths to his mind. He gave a soft hum at the apology for the bump to his chin, having accepted it before it was even given, and he understood this a little better when he heard Erik say he was a Sableye. It made a little sense as to why Lydian was so drawn to him now. He had a fascination with darkness and the type, and a Sableye was certainly well within that category. Still... this was a little strong for just a mild draw. There was something more to it, more to this. He'd seen others before like him, been around his sister even, and never before had the draw been anywhere as strong as it was with Erik. And then... twin pools of sapphire depths he was drowning in. He couldn't do anything to escape them. He felt a tugging on his soul, calling for him to fall deeper and deeper, and oh this simply must be how it felt to gain a Destiny Bond because it was such a horribly wonderful thing that he felt as if he would die if he ever managed to escape this torrent of such beautiful gems. Before he could even begin to attempt to escape, they were gone, replaced by soft hair and a gentle warmth nuzzling into his chest. His brain slowly coming back online, he tilted himself to nuzzle the strands softly. "They're beautiful, Erik," he whispered. "So beautiful they could blind the world if you wanted them to." OOC: Effing paragraph would not end. DX Team-
