Lydian's nose wrinkled at the stench nearby, the Houndoom Gijinka letting out a low growl at the exhaust that he could feel coating the back of his throat already. He could barely scent anything out here, and he usually prided himself on his sense of smell, something that had only improved when his parents had taken him and his twin sister to receive the transfusion that had changed their lives forever. Too bad they hadn't seen his refusal to submit himself to them coming. A cruel smirk twitched at his lips at the memory before it was wiped away by the pain of knowing she had later abandoned him the way she had. But he couldn't think like that, he couldn't afford to. If he allowed himself to be distracted out here, he could very well be attacked. He knew this part of Aether was reserved for the lowest of the low - he refused to think that his own home in the Abandoned Sector was something left for those who were even worse off because, while some might think that true, it had served as a home to him for a long time now, and besides, Erik had a cabin back in the city, and he'd willingly chosen to forsake that for the ruin that the other had cleaned out for his own purposes. The turning of his thoughts to the Sableye Gijinka had a soft growl rumbling from his throat of its own accord, his ruby eyes softening unconsciously. He was usually tough, snapping at everything, but the other softened him up, effectively muzzling him and quieting his snarling.
A cold nose found its way to his hand, and with a jolt Lydian realized that he had stopped walking. He turned his head to see the source of the nose, his crimson gaze affixing itself to the sitting figure of his Houndour, Armageddon. He let out a soft tsk sound, turning his hand over so that his palm faced the sky. Recognizing the silent command, Armageddon padded forward and presented his head for Lydian's attention, the Houndour quiet as he examined his surroundings. He had come out to try to see if he could gather some supplies or find some small task he might be able to accomplish and earn some money off. So far, his luck had been abysmal, but that was a common day for him. He was known to a handful of the inhabitants here, and he didn't get along with a whole lot of them. So long as they didn't really try to interact with him, he didn't lash out at them, but it was a very dangerous line for them to walk. He intimidated a lot of people off, especially with his red eyes. People tended to mistrust him for having such unnatural eyes. Which they were right. Red eyes were Gijinka eyes. And Lydian was a very dangerous Gijinka, if only because of his temper.
A rustle in the nearby bushes had his head snapping up, a threatening growl rumbling from both he and his Pokemon before he saw that it was just his Poochyena that had tumbled out onto the ground at his feet, his shaggy tail wagging as he scrambled up to his paws. "You shouldn't wander off," the male informed the puppy coldly, striding past the little Dark-type with Armageddon following submissively at his heels. "If you get lost, I'm not going to go looking for your ass." Rather than get disheartened by the harsh words, Ragnarok just barked in agreement, his tail wagging harder as he trotted on the other side of the Alpha of their little pack. No matter how cruelly Lydian might speak to him, he was well aware of the care the temperamental Houndoom Gijinka would show him - would show all of the Pokemon in his possession. Lydian wouldn't just abandon any of them like that. Still, if his Trainer wanted him to stay close, then who was he to argue?

Digging her paws into the ground, the Glaceon slid around the corner while calling over her shoulder to her human, leading the boy down safe paths away from the men who chased him. Breath fell out in clouds before the boy's lips in a quick rhythm as he ran, green eyes stealing quick glances behind him to see if he could spot the people who often gave him hell. He was an easy target; even he knew this with his unwillingness to fight back when a punch was thrown at him. But he never complained, never said a word to any soul – it was his secret, his burden to shoulder. He wasn’t about to ask for help from anybody… that would only place them in harm’s way.
The slums was a place that he rarely went, even when he was being chased. He knew of the type of people who often hung around that place – people who Mikhail wanted nothing to do with… dangerous people. But Mikhail wasn't about to head home… or even close to it. He didn't want the people who followed him knowing where he lived – that would only bring him more hell. His home was his sanctuary, the one place that he felt safe… the one place where nobody gave him funny looks or tried to bully him. He would do his best to keep it that way.
Even if it meant he’d come home nearly every day after school exhausted and covered in bruises and scrapes at best.
Many would wonder why such a boy would receive such treatment. A boy who was quiet, minded his own business and was as sweet as he. A lot of people didn’t care about such things… especially when such an easy target had money. Even though he lived away from his family in the upper sector… he did have an allowance, which he had continuously saved and he did bring that with him. More often than not did he bring money with him to school for various reasons – whether to buy food, items for classes and other necessities… even if it wasn’t a large amount, people were greedy. Money and the fact that he was an easy target for those who enjoyed bragging that they beat someone up were the main reasons that Mikhail often found himself in the situation he did.
He would have wished it otherwise. But never would he raise a hand to these men. He couldn't do it.
Around another corner did the Glaceon slide, her paws gripping the street for what she could as she brought her body to a stop, staring at the sight she did. Being too busy tracking the scents which she knew were a threat to her human, she hadn’t once thought or concentrated on looking for scents of strangers. Immediately did she focus her nose on the person and the pokemon before them, knowing as it were, she and Mikhail were outnumbered… especially if this man was a friend of those chasing her trainer. Gritting her teeth, a small growl fell from deep within her chest, rumbling through her being – alerting the boy as he came to a stop next to her, doubled over, panting heavily – lungs burning for precious air.
“S-sonya… why are we stopping… t-they’ll ca-“ The boy began between gasps for air, placing a hand between the shiny Glaceon’s ears as she continued to growl. If they didn’t continue on, the men would catch them and it would be another day of returning home in pain. However, he found his words cut short as he raised his head, green eyes widening as they landed on the man who towered above him. “I-I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to intrude...” He forced, petting over Sonya’s head in an attempt to calm her from her protective growling, not wanting to cause trouble with this man too. “W-we’ll just b-be on our way…”With a polite bow of his head, Mikhail began to back away, not meaning insult to Lydian by any means.
He was never good with first meetings… or rather, he wasn’t good with people at all.
However, as he began to back away, he heard the voices of the four men chasing him come from behind, calling his name followed by taunts and insults. Biting his lip, Mikhail bolted forward, his Glaceon not far behind him as he ran past Lydi, apologizing over his shoulder once more to the raven haired man as he moved, before pausing, turning to look at him once more as he continued to walk backward, not wanting to waste a moment in his fleeing, ”Y-you may not want to stick around here… those men aren’t nice people… They may try to hurt you.” His face displayed honesty and slight fear before he turned once more, looking for a place to hide. Words;; 952 Tags;; Mikhail Zasha Nazilevskii Eggs;; None Layout by Kuroya Notes;; Delphi wants to protect Mika, Benedict wants to cut some people across the face, and Kuro hasn't written this much in a single post in a long time. It's a good day today...
Lydian's eyes narrowed when he came across a large tree trunk blocking the way, but rather than completely obliterate it with an inferno of flames, he merely sighed heavily and climbed over it instead, pausing only to lift the little whining puppy up on top of it while Armageddon's paws scrabbled at the bark to clamber over it with relative difficulty. As much as Lydian wanted to admit that he'd rather just leave Ragnarok behind, he knew full well what would happen. The little Dark-type would howl and whine and make just a terrible racket until Delphi came out and went back to get him. And when the red-tinted Absol who took care of them had to go and collect the mischievous little puppy, she was not usually in a good mood when she got back to her Trainer, and that usually resulted in her snapping moodily at his hand when he'd reach down to stroke her head. If it had been nigh on anyone else, Lydian might have thrown a punch at her, but Delphi was special. She took care of them when no one else really did, opening her heart and pouring out affection to all of the Pokemon on Lydian's team. She even managed affairs for the Houndoom Gijinka when he would leave her in the house, and more importantly, she was a calming presence on him, preventing him from throwing a good many blows at his own Pokemon.
Lydian knew he had to be getting closer to the city when he turned to see a road a little ways away from the log he'd just climbed over. There was a bend in the path there, and Lydian sauntered towards it, figuring that he should be able to at least pick a fight with someone in that direction to work on toughening up his Pokemon, if not finding someone who would let him work. Ragnarok and Armageddon exchanged an uneasy glance, the two Pokemon with more sensitive ears than their Trainer, but it was a moot point as a brightly-colored Glaceon slid around the corner, staring at them. As soon as she started growling, they did too, darting forward to close ranks on either side of Lydian, Ragnarok with his fluffy grey fur bristling up and a snarl contorting his muzzle while Armageddon merely crouched down a little, ready to attack if they proved unfriendly. The male who came out behind him, however, piqued Lydian's interest, and the Houndoom Gijinka scoured him with his eyes for a long moment, barely listening to the words the other offered. He could sense that this one wasn't really a threat to him... but he'd need the other to get closer before he could determine anything more. Crimson eyes flickering to his Pokemon, he gave his command. "Ragnarok, Armageddon, stand down, this one's no-" his words were cut off, however, by the sounds of taunting and insults from further down the path, and he growled low in his throat, letting the other male run past as his eyes narrowed again. Just who was this boy running from? He wasn't looking for a fight, obviously, and he wasn't trying to hurt anyone. The whiff of scent the Houndoom Gijinka had picked up as the other had brushed by assured him that the other was more of a submissive type than anything.
Another growl rumbled in his chest as his hands fisted, shadows gathering around them as he heard a more poignant insult called the chestnut-haired boy's way. "Please. Nice people or not... they are hardly a threat to me," he snorted, his hair almost seeming to brindle a little like a Houndoom raising its hackles. Two flashes of bright light accompanied his words, revealing a red-furred Absol and a Sneasel who immediately cackled upon taking in the sight of his Trainer. Delphi immediately saw the way the brunet male was acting, and she let out a soft crooning noise, padding over towards him. Her mothering instincts had kicked in now, and she wasn't about to let him get himself hurt. She might have turned and informed Lydian of that if it had been an issue... however, the raven-haired male already was ready for a fight, obviously haven taken insult to some of the things she could hear being jeered. Ragnarok and Armageddon picked up on that same tension too, the two dog-like Pokemon growling again as the four men appeared around the corner, dirty smirks on their faces as they saw their prey. "Get out of the way if you know what's good for you, raven-boy," one of them crowed proudly, smirking. "We don't have a problem with you, we just want that wimp behind you."
A growl rumbled out of Lydian's chest and his ruby eyes lit up, violet fire coming to engulf his fists. "I really do hate people like you," the Houndoom Gijinka spat. "Always looking to hurt people weaker than yourselves... why don't you try picking on someone your own size for a change?" He would have thrown a punch right then if not for a tug on his sleeve, and his eyes flickered down to see the Sneasel standing there, head cocked questioningly to the side. "All right Benedict, you can handle this," he muttered, the two sharing a dark smirk. "You know what to do." The Sneasel let out a delighted cackle, claws flexing as he began gathering shadows to them before darting forward, jumping into the air and lashing out in a Shadow Claw attack aimed right at someone's face. It was a rare thing for Lydian to allow him to cause pain like this, so he was going to milk it for all it was worth.

Without a second thought as the men who followed his tail, catching up called his name, followed with taunts and sarcastic words of not hurting the boy if he came to them, Mikhail ran past the other Gijinka, his heart speeding in his chest, threatening to beat itself right out simply due to fear. Of course, he felt guilt by not staying and offering something to the male but... these men wouldn't hurt him, right? They weren't after him, they were after Mikhail... he should be okay, right?
Nope...
Looking over his shoulder as he heard the one of the men speak to Lydian, the male standing between him and the others. Pausing for only a moment, his features displaying only worry, not wanting a stranger of all people to get mixed up in his affairs. Lowering his gaze, he knew he couldn't stay... he couldn't watch the fight that was sure to happen with the tension between the two groups, pokemon, Gijinka and human alike. Spotting the Absol coming closer to him, Mika shook his head, holding out a hand as he began to walk backward, urging her to stay where she was, "N-no... you stay here... with your trainer..." he offered her a smile before looking down to the Glaceon at his side as he turned around, motioning to the outskirts of town, "Come on Sonya... l-lets go..."
"Where do you think you're going?"
The voice made a cold chill run through Mikhail, Freezing not only his mind and his heart, but his body as well as green eyes focused on the man before him, burly and tall, his hands balled into fists, a smirk displayed proudly on his lips... like a predator who had cornered his prey... which he had. As much as his mind told him to run, he couldn't get his command to move through his body, receiving no response except for a tremble... which only served to make the man before him more predatory, his smirk turning into a full out feral grin, lips curled upward in an almost demonic way... it wasn't something the face of a human should be able to achieve, so Mikhail thought. The mere sight of such a thing made his heart skip a beat. "Nowhere...? That's what I thought."
No... I need to run... come on... MOVE!
"Now stay still like a good boy... this won't hurt.... much" With these words, the man struck out with a hand, quick like a striking snake and grabbed onto the front of Mikhail's shirt, a yelp of surprise and fear falling from the smaller boy's lips, eyes closing tight. Gripping the man's hand which gripped his shirt, Mikhail tugged once, twice... he knew he couldn't get away, he was trapped, caught like a fox in a trap, but in this situation, anyone would try to escape, no matter how futile. "Amusing... But you know what's even more amusing...?" With that, Mikhail cringed, preparing himself for what he knew was coming, it had happened before... and it would be another painful night and another absence from school the next day, hiding his bruises from everyone.
With a dull smack the man's fist collided with Mikhail's face before dropping the boy to the ground, leaving him curling into a ball, cradling the inflicted spot.
But no move came without consequences. From behind him, a deep growl rose, quickly turning into a protective snarl. As the man turned to look behind him at the noise, Sonya moved wIthout hesitation, using a Quick Attack as a speed boost, disappearing with only a wisp of dirt flying from the ground one moment and appearing above Mikhail, standing over him with her fangs bared. As he turned once more, trying to follow her movements, his eyes widened as he was greeted with a Shadow Ball to the gut, forcing him back, nearly stumbling as he cradled his stomach, groaning. The groan quickly turned into a roar of anger, raising a fist, fully intending to knock the pokemon and drive another hit down to the boy below him, but was quickly met with the force of the Glaceon's maw wrapping around his arm, boosted by another Quick Attack, the force sending him to the ground, flat on his back.
Reaching with his other hand, he grasped at the fur on the back of Sonya's neck, pulling and growling in pain as her fangs dug into the skin, piercing it, drawing thin lines of red down his skin to pool on the ground below. "L-let go you brat...."
Behind them, Mikhail kept himself in a tight ball, expecting more to come, hearing the struggle between pokemon and man, whimpering the Glaceon's name softly. The last thing that he wanted was for anyone to get hurt because of him... especially his pokemon. [/style]

Words;; 860 Tags;; Mikhail Zasha Nazilevskii Eggs;; None Layout by Kuroya Notes;; Sticks and stones may break Lydi's bones, but he'll still give you a run for your money first. Houndoom is NOT happy, not at all... Almost makes me wonder if he's taking his frustration out on those poor guys. ._.
Delphi let out a soft whine, her head dipping down as she continued padding over towards the other male. She was a kind soul, and even if he was telling her to stay behind with Lydian, she still wanted to make sure he was okay. It was in her nature to make sure that everyone was okay, and with the way he had come in and the gentle smile he was offering her, she was determined to make sure he was okay. Her whole body stiffened at the cold voice from behind the other Gijinka, and she let out a low growl of warning, her rusty red fur bristling up in a threat. As soon as the suspicious human picked the smaller male up, however, she let out a loud howl of anger, darting forward with shadows glinting around her claws, but she was too late to prevent the punch from making its impact on the other's face. She wasn't as fast as the brightly-colored Glaceon was, not by any means, but she still managed to get there shortly after the Glaceon had thrown an attack at the male's gut.
Yowling herself, she tossed her head as sparks began dancing along her crest and paws before she reared up on her hind legs, claws lashing at the air before her to send a nice bolt of electricity, a Thunderbolt attack, to slam into the human on the ground, the Absol's paws slamming back into the ground only a few moments later, her hind legs unable to support her full weight for a prolonged period of time without resting her fore paws against something to brace herself. Seeing the man yanking on the scruff of the Glaceon's neck, however, she snarled again, darting forward as quickly as she could with her eyes burning before she slashed at the man's thigh with her claws, the nails covered in shadows with a strong Shadow Claw. If she could get the attention on her, the Glaceon would be free to tend to the boy on the ground, and besides, she was larger. Though a part of her wondered why Lydian hadn't gotten involved in this fight, especially when she let out a cry of pain following the slam of a fist against her back. He wouldn't stand for someone hurting his Pokemon, so why wasn't he involved?
As a matter of fact, Lydian was dealing with his own problems. The man Benedict had attacked with the Shadow Claw was now bleeding profusely from claw marks on his face, the swing he had taken at the Sneasel missing by a mile as Benedict cackled and darted away again, his claws still glinting with darkness as he stood before his Trainer. The men looked at each other for a moment before they bristled up. They weren't about to take something like that lying down! "You earned it now, asshole," one of them promised, and Lydian snorted, his hands fisting at his side. He wasn't intimidated by them, not in the least. He was far more dangerous than they were, even if he was technically outnumbered. He may have been the only human in his group, but with Armageddon, Ragnarok, and Benedict at his side, he considered it a fair fight, if not one with the odds stacked in his favor.
"Please. I'd like to see you try to lay a finger on me," the Houndoom Gijinka snorted, rolling his eyes and turning his back. In hindsight, that probably wasn't the best move, but he was confident that Benedict would lash out before they could get close enough to land a punch on him. What he hadn't counted on, however, was human resourcefulness in regards to causing pain, and he had only taken a step or two when a strip of flesh over his right cheekbone began to sting. Bringing a hand up to feel the line something sharp had traced there, he was surprised to see it come away with blood on his fingertips. So they had stooped to throwing stones now? That was low, and he was growling. As soon as Ragnarok saw the line, however, the little Poochyena let out a Howl of indignation, the puppy furious that someone had hurt his Trainer. He threw himself forward in a Tackle attack, his teeth bared as he latched them into the skin of one of the men, Benedict following his example in using his Shadow Claw at their legs and darting away before they could kick him, the breeze of the paths of their feet brushing against his back with every swipe he took. Armageddon looked to be ready to follow Ragnarok's example, the Houndour bristling up and snarling, but Lydian intercepted him before he could spring, the raven-haired Gijinka throwing a punch at the nearest human to stumble towards him in a Faint Attack. Realizing he'd likely do more harm than good interfering in the fight, he instead ran over to the brown-haired male on the ground, standing before him with a growl, his muzzle twisted up to show his fangs. If anyone else decided to get involved, they'd have to answer to him.
