★ WEIGHT: 155 Pounds
★ FACE CLAIM: Izaya Orihara from Durarara!!
★ APPEARANCE:
TCiaran can make for an intimidating figure to come across, alone on the streets under the moon. Not just because he's a teenager. The Gijinka stands slightly above average in height, pale skin lacking any sign of scaring or freckles. Raggedly cut, short, pitch black hair lays untouched atop his head, the front of which almost reaches glimmering blood red eyes, that are almost always moving from side to side, face to face on the people who surround him. Though he might start out on a walk clumsily, once in his stride, he walks with a quiet, eerie grace, hands in his pockets, slightly hunched, as if guarding against cold that only he feels. His choice of clothing generally consists of items that are loose and easy to move in. The visible colors are always dark, but sometimes, when he stretches, and a sleeve is pushed up his arm, or his shirt lifts, one might see the brighter colors of one or two accessories, hidden, as if he is ashamed to be wearing such things.

★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
People are mostly what their past experiences make them, and with two wildly different sets of memories, a strange mixture of personalities is created in the Yamask Gijinka that can answer to either Ciaran or Leo. He is neither, and he is both, and it's such a confusing situation that he has decided to try and begin a completely new life, seperating himself from the bonds of family and friends of Leo, who, as much as he still loves, can no longer connect with. He now introduces himself as Ciaran.
Ciaran has too many bad memories of trying to make post-apocalyptic friends and allies to allow him to trust easily. BUT... he is trying. It is impossible to not recognize the world as a changed place, where he doesn't have to worry about being killed for his food and left for dead. Another worry is what Epispect may do if they ever got an inkling of what was going on in his head. Yeah... he won't be risking revealing that secret any time in the near future.
The Yamask Gijinka is mature. He lived many more years of his life as Ciaran, and Leo's innocence as to the harsh realities of the world died the moment he woke from the coma with those new memories. Also unlike Leo, Ciaran knows the importance of hard work. When he finds a task that's important, he works tirelessly to complete it, and by himself if at all possible. He conserves as much of his resources as possible, and what he lays his hands on, he doesn't easily allow to leave his possession. Ciaran can react violently to those that try and take his belongings.
Sometimes, Ciaran can become confused and stutter over words or phrases that past-Ciaran did not know in his time, simply because they feel so unfamiliar leaving his mouth. He can also lack immediate access to things in his memory that should be 'common knowledge', such as the names of old friends, or celebrities, or recent history. Not that Leo was much of a History lover in school. Thankfully a lot of it can be blamed on the years long coma.
Hesitation is a new problem. Neither Ciaran nor Leo in either of their lives before the merge experienced it often. Leo was rich and arrogant and spoiled. Ciaran knew that to hesitate could easily mean death when he was alive the first time. With the two sets of memories in one mind, the making of a decision can become complicated when Leo and Ciaran would have acted differently. And how is he to tell which choice is the right one? Especially the serious ones, such as how to react when he is threatened. Ciaran would leap to the attack. Leo would run and call for the police.
Friends and romances weren't easy for Ciaran to make in the past. Few of his friendships survived the apocalypse, and it was a risk to make new ones afterward. Strangely, Leo was even more experienced, though he didn't know it until he awoke as Ciaran. With Ciaran's experience, he could see that most of his 'friends' wanted him for what he could buy for them, instead of a real emotional bond. But! Ciaran is trying. He sees his new life as everything it could be. A second chance to live his live as he might have as either Ciaran and Leo, had the world not ended, or had Leo not been sheltered until he got himself in a coma. Ciaran's dusted off a set of manners he mockingly used in his past life in an attempt to make himself for approachable. Back then, he'd smile and apologize and compliment while taking someone at gun/sword point for all their supplies, and slip away with a 'thank you'. Now he's really trying. He'll hold doors open for women, pull out chairs, assist old ladies across the street and return dropped wallets with all the money still inside.
In the end, Ciaran is trying to find his way as a boy with the memories of a former lost soul, now within him, alive and kicking. He hopes it has changed him for the better, and he's trying to make up for the failure he can't help but see in both his lives so far. A new one now lies before him. He wants to learn more about the world as it changed in his absence, and find purpose, and friends. It can become overwhelming, and he will hide, but never for long. He fixes a smile back in place, sad but determined, and gets back to work.

H I S T O R Y
- 'Ciaran' was born before the Apocalypse that resulted in the world as it is today. Before the world ended, his life was relatively normal. Smart, but not stupid smart, active, loved by his parents. He wanted to be a Trainer of course, just to get out there and explore the world. Unfortunately large swathes of it became wasteland before he got that chance, and he had to change. In order to survive, he learned to fight and kill, to steal and Train his Pokemon to do all the same. And he did well. He kept himself alive, and even some others, for a while. At twenty-seven years of age, he was one of many to first pick up a sickness that was sweeping across what remained of the human population. He lasted several months before his body gave in and he passed away.
- ENTER LEO BLACKWELL.
Born to distant, busy, very wealth parents, he grew up healthy, entitled, kind of bratty, and a little arrogant, but kind-hearted, and very sweet when he wanted to be. He was borderline hyperactive, and was always getting into messes and tussles with other children to get attention from his mom and dad. His grades weren't the best, though he was smart, he just lacked the motivation to do well in school as he got older and realized his future was pretty much insured. It didn't matter.- At 16, in a further act of rebellion any therapist would tell him was to get his parents' attentions, and he would loudly deny, Leon was involved in an accident while painting an unstable building in the city's Abandoned Sector. Crawling in through an upper window from the ladder for a break, the floors crumbled beneath him, and he fell, breaking a leg, and moments after that, more of the ceiling collapsed and he was struck in the head by an old wooden beam. He was dragged by his closest friend to the hospital, in critical condition, and though he was eventually made stable, he did not wake. A week passed, then another, and it soon became apparent that he might never be waking up.
- Full of guilt and the thoughts that if only diciplined their child more, or spent more time with him, it all could have been prevented, Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell contacted every single specalist they thought could help. Some made attempts to wake him up, some told the greiving parents that they would be better off making peace with his loss. In the end, it was all mostly futile, and the neurologists stopped trying, and Leo's parents had to make the hardest of descisions. To let him go, or keep hope. They settled on keeping him alive for as long as their was the possibility their son would wake up. He wasn't brain dead, he was just in a coma, and their was always hope future medicines and not yet perfected procedures could be the one to finally work.
- Two years passed, and Leo slept unaware as a few more procedures were tested and failed to bring him back. And then things somehow got worse... and also better. The hospital denied any responsibility on their part, but at some point, during his move from a nicer upstairs room of the hospital to a larger, but shared room nearer the ground, Leon came in contact with a strain of The Virus. Despite their claims, Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell were not soothed. As a successful businessman, he was more than capable of using his money and connections to harm the hospital's reputation, and he did so. In secret, he hired several private investigators- or so they liked to be referred to as, instead of 'spies'- to look into the hospital's practices.
- This action attracted the attention of Epispect, who used that particular hospital as one of the places they did Tranfusions for those who could pay, and after looking into the case and worrying about their investment, they got interested. Leo's father was soon approached by a woman and made an offer. They would save his child's life, if he backed off. Normally, Leo's status as a coma patient would have made his approval for Transfusion impossible had the Blackwells gone through official channels to save their child's life. It didn't make much sense to give such an expensive medicine to a boy who would never wake and probably die soon anyway. Mr. Blackwell wasn't happy, as he still blamed the hospital, but was persuaded in the end, as he really didn't want to lose his child, no matter his likelyhood of waking. The procedure was done to Leo as he remained asleep, his blood removed and replaced with a mixture of the right type and DNA VERY carefully and with great difficulty taken from a Yamask, a Ghost-type Pokemon, and he soon began to heal.
- A month later, Leo woke up. Only he wasn't just Leo anymore. He was more than that now. He was Leo, and he was Ciaran, the man who's memories easily fit into his mind as he remained asleep but healing. It was difficult to believe what had happened, but the evidence was all there. He remembered his life as Ciaran, from his earliest memories after birth, to his death. He also remembered the same from Leo, just as bright in his mind, if with a slightly less powerful connection. He assumed because there were so fewer of them. Or because his life as Ciaran had been so much more emotional, he was more attached to them in some way. He assumed. One thing he knew for sure, and that became very obvious to the people around him early on: He was NOTHING like the boy he'd been before the accident.
- Ciaran played dumb as doctors and family and 'friends' swept in and our of his room over the next few months, which included the beginning of his physical therapy. He paid attention, learned, searched for reasons for what had happened in both sets of memories, and got better. And even before he was released from the hospital, it was clear that he would NOT be able to fit in to his old life as Leo. He just wasn't that person anymore. He feared what would happen if anyone realized that somehow, he'd lived before. He needed to run, as soon as it would be possible... to learn more about what had happened to him, and the world- Leo wasn't really a history buff- and find a new purpose for himself. He even wondered if the remains of his old home were somewhere out there. Or even some of Past-Ciaran's family... or descendants.
