The park was perhaps Elijah’s favorite place. It was just so pretty and just… well, it wasn’t the city. The city smelled funny and was filthy and well… that’s not very nice, is it? Nope, not really. Well, perhaps someone somewhere thought so, but he certainly did not. He’d rather live in the sanctuary that was called the park. It was so different from everywhere else that it was almost scary… perhaps he needed to leave the city sometime. It could be dangerous though, and he was all alone. He didn’t know anyone who’d go on the adventure with him, how sad. Nobody ever wanted to go on a grand adventure; no one was interested in the new experiences! Well, there were pokemon here, right? Maybe he could find one that’d be interested in adventure! He had one of those… capture devices, right? Ehm, a pokeball, that is. Right, those things… He wondered if he could catch himself… what was it like in one of those tiny little balls anyway? How weird would it be if he could actually do that… would he be able to get back out? He’d been walking through the park this entire time, and hadn’t really seen anyone or anything of interest, but perhaps because he was more focused on his thoughts than actually searching for someone. He looked over his shoulder for a moment as he thought he’d heard a noise. Dismissing it as just his mind messing with him, he faced forward once more, only to smash his face into a tree. He stayed there for a moment; his face pushed up against a tree. Then he took a few steps back, blinked a few times, shook his head, and continued walking on as if nothing had happened. ‘I did NOT just walk into a tree. Nope. I’m not that stupid.’
Elijah let out a loud, long yawn, stretched, and then scratched the back of his head. What time was it? It couldn’t be that late, could it? Nah, it was probably just one of those out-of-breath yawns. He began to hum as he walked, his pace rather slow. He didn’t like rushing, it ruined the experience. Stopping to smell the flowers was much nicer than just rushing through life and missing all of the good stuff. If you miss all the good stuff, you’re not even living! You’re just rushing from pointless point A to pointless point B, and where’s the fun there? His pace got slower and slower until he came to a complete stop. He looked off to the side, scratching his nose as he did so, thinking about lying down on the grass. He liked grass, it felt nice, and he was usually so far away from the lovely grass… So, he finally made his way over to a nice patch of grass and laid down, pulling his hood down so he could feel the grass more. It was a good thing he was wearing a short-sleeved shirt today. His eyes unfocused from the world, though his ears were still paying attention just in case. He yawned just one more time, staring up at the sky and past it; into space.
Notes;; …derp. It's the party bus, all aboard! We're using the train tracks instead of the road. Words;; Ididn’tcount.

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 11 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock Throw || Double Team || Scary FaceThe Archen perched up in the tree was engaged in one of his favorite pastimes: people-watching. Humans were such a short-sighted race! Like this one here, this one he was looking at, he had looked over when the Pokemon had deliberately trailed a claw over some branches to make a soft rustling sound, and then when he couldn't spot the bright bird among the surroundings, he turned back around to smack right into a tree that had been looming in front of him the entire time. The bird let out an amused cackle at that, his feathers ruffling out in a manner that would have been downright stunning if he were perching in a place that left him visible to most passers-by. But he wasn't. The watcher did not settle in a place where he could in turn be watched by just anyone. The best observers would make their nooks in places where few could in turn could observe them. It was an art, a skill, a profession, this people-watching, and Archen had been engaged in such a thing since he was a chick. He had had time to perfect his skills, and as such, he was quite adept at it.
Still... where was the fun in being the best? You always had to defend your position from those who wished to take it from you, and there was never any real challenge in it. Or fun for that matter since the fun was in the challenge. And with that realization, the Archen's cackling quieted down, the Pokemon stilling in the tree. There was nowhere for him to go but down. Nowhere. But. Down. Fluttering his feathers slightly, he dipped his head down to preen his wings. What if he gave up the people watching business? No... no, that would never do. He enjoyed the antics of those silly humans too much to simply stop without rhyme or reason. But what was he supposed to do if there was no real challenge to it anymore?

Elijah’s eyes moved off of the sky and to his left, towards the trees by the patch of grass he had made his resting spot. He thought he’d heard something in those trees before. Trees could hide a lot of things, couldn’t they? They were homes for lots of different creatures. He didn’t think he could live in a tree though. Could he? Mankeys were monkey-like, right? And they lived in trees… so, maybe he could make his home in a tree. He’d probably fall a lot though, to be honest… Had he ever climbed a tree before? No, not that he could think of. When would he have climbed a tree, anyway? The thought had never really crossed his mind, and when he was younger he couldn’t have climbed a tree without breaking all of his bones. He slowly sat up, pulling his hood back up as he did so. His gaze took a while to readjust to the trees he’d been staring at while lying down and he began to wonder if he should climb those trees or not. What if he startled some creature that lived up there? It probably wouldn’t be too happy about that situation. ‘Oh, put your man-pants on. Nothing up there could hurt you too bad if you startled it, could it?’ He scratched at his nose again; it was a bit of a persistent itch. Maybe he’d got a cut or even a bite of sorts; he’d have to check in a mirror or some glass or even a puddle sometime. But enough distractions! It was time to go and climb a tree.
Elijah took his time standing up, he always felt a bit dizzy going from lying/sitting to standing. He rubbed his eyes and when he felt he was at a good balance he made his way over to the trees. He rubbed his hands together, as if it would somehow help him, and began to make his way up a tree. At first he shimmied, but then he was able to grasp a branch and from there he was able to pull himself up further until the tree he was currently climbing could no longer provide a way up. At that point he dared to jump over to the nearest tree, with a branch just barely in reach. His left hand slipped past the branch, his right grasping it firmly however. Now dangling from a branch, a good distance from the ground, and squirming in panic, Elijah began to make little high pitched noises. He scrambled desperately and after many awkward attempts managed to heave the upper half of his body over the branch, hanging over the branch and letting out a sigh of relief. He sure hoped there was no one in these trees, because that was just embarrassing. Or if it was someone easily frightened, he could have just given some poor thing a heart attack… he’d almost given himself one. Or what if he’d scared something and now it wanted to attack him? That wouldn’t be pleasant… he didn’t look up though, his eyes stared down at the ground below, “Adventure’s not always easy…”

WILD ARCHEN APPEARED! [/style] Archen || Male || Defeatist || Rock/Flying || Level 11 Quick Attack || Leer || Wing Attack || Rock Throw || Double Team || Scary FaceArchen's tail feather fluttered up with the breeze, and, feeling a little self-conscious, he ducked his head to start preening his feathers a little. He twisted his head about to begin digging his beak through his plumage, hunting for any bent or broken shafts while straightening any that had come out of formation. Archen had walked the earth for a very long time... extremely long to be precise. They had been around before people were, or so he had been told when he was only a hatchling. Archen were long-lived, proud creatures too. They may not have been the first to soar through the earth's skies, but they could certainly claim to be the first to do so with feathers. After plucking out a few more stray puffs of down, he lifted his head to see that strange human from before trying to climb into his tree. Oh, how nice, he was trying to learn how to climb trees. That would make for some interesting watching.
... Wait a minute here... climbing into his tree?!? Archen let out a little squawk of indignation at that, feathers puffing out in an intimidation display. His tree was his sacred nesting place where he would watch the antics of the dull humans! He could not allow its purity to be spoiled by anyone, especially not a human! Hopping down a few branches from his nest, his feathers fluttering all the while, he then flapped down to a branch a few above where the human was. He waited patiently until the other's eyes flicked up to him... and then he let out the loudest caw of "Archen!" he could muster, his feathers fluttering out around him in a showy manner while he kept up the most frightening face he could muster, his Scary Face attack. Hopefully, if he could manage to shock the human out of his tree, he could keep his nest intact for more people-watching. Hopefully.
