Elijah sat on the edge of the fountain, kicking his legs back and forth while humming softly. The fountain water was rather dirty, but it didn’t matter unless he fell in. And he planned on doing no such thing. He wondered why the water was so dirty. Wasn’t there a way to keep it clean? Or did no one really care much for the fountain? He thought it’d be a fairly nice place if it wasn’t so dirty… but perhaps that could be said about the entire city in general. At least the park was pretty… perhaps he should have gone there instead, but he’d already chosen on sitting here. Not that it would be too difficult to get up… he just sort of didn’t want to get up now. His eyes followed people as they walked by. He wondered what they thought of the fountain. Or maybe they just didn’t think of the fountain at all. He wondered if anyone would complain about him sitting there. Some people could find ways to complain about everything, and how annoying was that? It was very annoying. He always seemed to end up answering his own questions, even when they weren’t meant to be answered…
He raised an eyebrow as someone tossed in a coin, mumbled a few words and left. And not long after… a scrawny little fellow came along and snatched the coin up before running back into the shadows. Elijah’s first thought was ‘I hope he washes his hands’ but then realizing how poor that person’s living conditions must have been, felt sort of bad because of that thought. He slowed his legs until they were no longer kicking and then began to drum a beat on them to go along with his humming. Some people now darted their eyes to him for a glance, but no one looked at him too long. Everyone was busy with more important things; too busy for another idiot. Oh well, at least no one was yelling at him. He hated when people were just rude for no reason. His humming was broken by a sigh before picking back up again, as he observed everything more closely now.
There were a lot of busy people, walking about. They were looking for money, for customers, for food, perhaps even looking for a specific person. Everyone seemed lost in their own little world. Elijah went to lean back and realized just a moment too late that there was nothing behind him. He fell into the filthy water behind him, opening his mouth to let out a surprised squeak only to be silenced by the disgusting filth entering his mouth. He stayed there in shock for a moment before jumping up and coughing and hacking furiously. He was at a loss for words as he finally heaved the last bit of dirty water out of his lungs. He got out of the fountain and squeezed water out of his hoodie when a word finally popped into his head. “Disgusting.” He muttered grumpily as he shook his head like a wet dog. “Just… Disgusting.” Now people were looking at him… some of them were even laughing. He growled lowly and looked down at his feet. ‘It’s not funny…’ He plopped down, sitting on the ground now with his back against the fountain’s edge. ‘Not funny…’ Notes;; >.> … <.< …

Gavin wasn’t in a particularly good mood. He was irritated with a certain young Gijinka who thought she could boss him around. She was a strong little thing but he could beat her if he wanted too. He didn’t hit girls though so he usually just told her to bug off. He didn’t enjoy being bossed though thankfully today was his day off. So why was he irritated when he didn’t have to go to work? He was hungry and all his money had gone to bills for the shabby little flat he rented. He loathed bills, he did. Sighing softly he made his way to the square to see if there were any odd jobs he could pick up for some food money. He searched around for a while but didn’t find anything and only became increasingly more hungry and grumpy. He should probably go burn off the restless energy that flowed through him. He ought too but he didn’t feel like going out of the city. He’d probably have to wait until after dark anyway since no one could go in and out of Aether City. He shook his head irritably running a hand through his shaggy hair in an agitated gesture.
’So much for a relaxing walk.’ he thought. He’d been hoping to find a job to get himself some food but that had tanked. Whatever, he’d find something he was sure. He reached the fountain in the square and smiled a bit. He liked the city’s design and décor. He just wished that the city would keep it up. Granted, they’d been busy finding a cure for the disease after recovering from the apocalypse. They’d been just a little busy. Not that he cared really. A splash distracted him and he saw a smaller blonde boy had fallen into the fountain. Gavin blinked slightly taking in the reaction of the crowd and found himself holding back a growl. Couldn’t they be a little more considerate and make sure he was at least okay? People were such idiots sometimes, especially humans. He went over to the slightly smaller male as he rang water out of the hoodie.
”Hey you okay?” the Growlithe Gijinka asked gruffly. He caught a bit of the younger male’s scent and realized the blonde was a Gijinka; which pokemon’s blood the other male contained, though Gavin wasn’t sure and didn’t really care either so long as the guy didn’t attack him. The Growlithe Gijinka was dressed in jeans, tennis shoes and a black hoodie over a grey tee shirt, looking casual and at ease despite the slight tension in his shoulders. Elijah wouldn’t likely notice but Gavin hated that other Gijinka made him nervous. Being kidnapped and forced to work for them would do that too one though. He shoved those darker thoughts to the back of his mind for the moment. He didn’t need them interrupting right now. He didn’t want to take a trip down memory lane just then.
Maybe later, but not just then.
