★ MEMBER GROUP: Gijinka

★ STATUS Illegal
★ AGE: 19
★ HEIGHT: 5 foot 7
★ WEIGHT: 145
★ FACE CLAIM: Mizuhara Tooru from Shoujo Shin'iki ~ Shoujo Tengoku -The Garden of Fifth Zoa
★ APPEARANCE:
Koby is exceedingly average to look at and can easily pass through a crowd unnoticed; he doesn't like to draw unwanted attention to himself. The boys' golden hair is kept short, and while in this state it can be easily managed. However Koby has noticed that his hair grows at an exceptionally fast rate and if left for too long tends to frizz and puff up into a huge afro that resembles a cloud. If allowed to reach this stage its almost completely unmanageable and any amount of combing or styling has little to no effect.
Koby's eyes are a deep emerald green, only odd considering that they were a light hazel brown before pokemon DNA affected his appearance. His facial features are sharp and defined especially for his age but he had always taken after his father in that respect. Koby has always been genetically pale skinned and no amount of sunlight has ever been able to alter that fact; besides, dark skin with blonde hair would only draw attention when it wasn't needed.
Koby attempts to stick with the current fads and clothing styles to more easily blend in. It's been said that jeans would never go out of fashion and that's one truth Koby has lived by. Large hooded jackets have their worth when one needs to slip away quietly and the whole scene is generally finished off with a pair of boots. When feeling thoughtful or overwhelmed with emotion Koby will adjust or play with a necklace made from the six unbroken beads that formed his sisters bracelet.

★ OVERALL PERSONALITY:
The death of his younger sister about five years ago was taken hard; naturally Koby blames himself. As their parents were overly distraught they never had the chance to tell their son that they didn't blame him and since that day Koby has always carried the weight on his own shoulders. He felt like he failed his sister, Agatha, having made her the promise to always be there and take care of her. Koby, however, has no idea how to redeem himself and has fallen into a bout of depression. A photograph of his family the simple reminder that he wasn't the brother, or son, he had promised to be.
Koby is afraid of getting emotionally or physically close to others. He regards everyone as being untrustworthy and is quick to dismiss others from his life. Koby does not believe he is worthy of others love or trust and has great difficulty sharing his true thoughts and feelings with others.
At his core, however, Koby is sentimental and emotional and finds it difficult to dismiss the inner turmoil of ignoring others in need. While he can be easily distracted from his tasks Koby can't help but follow his need to help others. Koby always tries to remain distant and keep a poker face, yet on the inside he truly craves the contact and likes to feel like he has a purpose. Koby's calm exterior is often the ruse for an inner storm.
Koby can easily blend into a crowd. He's the kind of person someone notices but instantly forgets about because he's so average. Koby is a quiet observer, which is never a correct assumption as to what is really happening on the inside. Koby fears being drawn in by society, or others in general, and does not believe he can belong. Koby feels safer around the lower class but doesn't feel like he really belongs anywhere. Deep rooted into his being is the sense of always having to keep moving, like someone is only a few steps behind.

H I S T O R Y
- 19 years ago - born
- 12 years ago - sister, Agatha, born
- 6 years ago - Agatha suddenly becomes infected
- 5 years ago - Agatha receives an illegal transfusion and consequently dies
- 4 years ago - Koby leaves home
Koby was the first born to parents who had always just managed to scrape by through life. The arrival of a child, while not perfectly planned or exactly financially manageable, had been a welcomed one. Micheal and Elizabeth Camden were the kinds of people that you hoped would bring children into the world. It was nothing for his father to work a second job to provide for the family and Elizabeth was one of the kindest and most patient people you'd ever meet.
Life for the young boy was happy and carefree. Koby never went without anything and learned to appreciate the things he did have. When the boy was seven his baby sister arrived on the scene. Micheal and Elizabeth loved both of their children and while they became more protective over their daughter they were always careful not to allow Koby to feel left out. The boy rarely, if ever, felt jealous over his sister and took up the role of protective big brother with pride.
Life for the family was simple and Elizabeth always counted their blessings. As reports of people becoming infected by the virus began to dwindle the family assumed they were in the clear until suddenly Agatha became sick. At first they hoped that it was a simple cold virus but when Micheal and Elizabeth realized that Agatha was indeed sick with the deadly virus that had been tearing its way through the population everything was turned upside down. After they were knocked back by Epispect Koby also became infected with the virus and suddenly the lives of a very normal family became a desperate attempt to keep them alive. They turned to the black market, selling everything they owned to cover the costs of the transfusion.
No matter the failure percentage nobody ever imagines that bad things would ever happen to them. Koby and Agatha had their transfusions at the same time, somehow their selected pokemon DNA was mixed up, but that wasn't discovered until long after the young girls life slipped away. The next year Koby leaves home unable to handle home atmosphere and blaming himself for Agatha's death. He was the one that was supposed to get the DNA that Agatha did, and believing that it was bad DNA Koby should have been the one who had died instead.

★ RP SAMPLE:
This is the first part of a three part post I made for another site a couple months ago, but I was unhappy with the site and consequently left. Anyway...
Hating crowds, the call for volunteers to help out in the infirmary wasn't one that Jai would have normally accepted, however the young man hated seeing others in pain just that little bit more. "I really should go…" Jai stated for the third time to the small ground shrew at his feet in an attempt to convince himself that it was the right thing to do. Jai circled his dorm room once more while Sandshrew's gaze followed him around the room. The shrew remained silent as she watched the boy pace, waiting for him to finally make a decision. The choice came suddenly as Jai began to the door and Sandshrew squeaked before hurrying after him.
"Sandshrew?" [So we're going to help out now?] the ground type asked, simply happy that Jai had finally made a decision. All the pacing had started to make her just a tiny bit dizzy. She scurried down the hall on all fours beside her trainer.
"Huh?" Jai asked, his thoughts clearly having drifted away. He glanced down toward the pokemon who was bounding along at his side. "I just hope I can remember the way to the infirmary."
Jai held the infirmary door open for his pokemon who walked in calmly. The boy took only a moment to find a nurse in the confusion and weaved his way through the patients that were waiting for assistance. Jai gently took the woman's arm as she raced past causing the nurse to spin on the spot. In a fluster she fumbled with a file in her arms. "Please tell me you're not hurt as well?" she asked, clearly overwhelmed by all the patients.
Jai took a step backwards, disliking the proximity, and shook his head. "No. I-I'm here to try and help, if I can." Jai stammered. Sandshrew gave the boy a gentle nudge of encouragement. "I have an aunt who's a doctor…" Jai glanced around nervously before continuing "she taught me some of the basics."
The nurse nodded her head and gave a wary smile, it was easy to assume that any help was welcome and that the woman was simply pleased that Jai wasn't another student she had to take care of. "We really could use the help." The nurse finally said. "Do you know how to prioritize injuries?" When Jai nodded his head the nurse continued. "Try and take their details…" she motioned to the chaotic room full of students. "Find out what's wrong with them and try and get some order in here. We're just completely overwhelmed and trying to deal with the serious problems first. Keep them calm and…" The nurse was interrupted when she was urgently called by someone down the hall. The woman began off, casting a glance back toward Jai for a moment.
Jai nodded his head again, "I can handle it." The boy watched until he could no longer see the nurse and turned back toward the room where students had gathered. He repeated what he was expected to do quietly. "Take down their details, prioritize their injuries. Take down their details… how am I going to…ah!" Jai noticed one of the students with a writing pad and began over.
"Could I borrow that?" Jai asked the boy, pointing to the pad in his arms. The boy clung the pad to his chest.
"But I need it."
Jai sighed and glanced down toward his pokemon for a moment as he thought of what he could do to persuade the young lad to liberate the writing pad to his care. "You can have it back. I just need a few pages from it." The boy shook his head. Jai frowned and narrowed his eyes. "Look, I need to borrow that pad…"
"It has all my notes in it!" the boy exclaimed, taking a step backwards.
"Sandshrew!" [Listen here you little twerp! Give my human that pad before I give you a new hair cut!] Sandshrew waved a clawed paw in the air and tried to look as menacing as possible. She knew that humans couldn't understand her, but the small ground type hoped that her point would still get across.
The pad slowly moved toward Jai. "You'll take care of it?" Jai nodded his head and took the pad in his hand. The boy still held onto the end and wasn't about to relinquish it quite so easily. "If any pages are damaged you not only have to buy me a new one but you can report your actions of sabotage to the headmaster!" Jai blinked, and only when he nodded did the boy release his hold.
"Did you have a pen too?" The boy handed one over and folded his arms across his chest, clearly unimpressed. Jai just knew that the afternoon was going to seem much longer until he returned that pad.
