Despite the fact that he had never once been to the base before, Xavier felt as if he knew the place better than he knew his own home. His mother had explained to him the nuances of the facility time and time again, preparing him for the day that he might decide to join the organization's righteous--if a bit extreme to most eyes--cause. After all, what was more just than attempting to end the pointless war between humans and gijinkas? It was far more noble than Epispect's attempt to cover up their mistakes and take out their frustrations on the black market.
The Seismitoad gijinka only had to explain to the guards his relation to his mother and he was in. She'd always told him she'd vouch for him should he decide to join, and it didn't seem as if she'd gone back on her word. He looked around at the dark hall leading to the stairs of the base with a somewhat amused expression. Most would've been intimidated by the darkness, fearing they were treading into something they had no part of, but Xavier knew better. He was raised to be here; this darkness was here to protect those within from the prying eyes of those that sought to destroy them.
As he descended the spiral stairs into his new home-away-from-home, he realized he was somewhat eager to meet other members of the organization. For the longest time it had been just him, his parents, and the few family friends that affiliated themselves with the group. While it was comforting to know that he wasn't completely alone, he also wanted to see an unfamiliar face every now and then just to be reassured that there were always others willing to fight to end the tragedies. He was particularly interested in seeing human members; after so many years of living with his parents and eventually himself being hated by them, he'd begun to lose faith that there were any humans left that could treat gijinkas with a shred of equality.
