When the smoke cleared, he had one very fried little bird on his hands. The attacks on him were too much, perhaps? Well, he hadn't known they'd both hit! He still felt incredibly bad, even as he was glad as he watched it disappear into the pokeball. Then, he knelt over, wincing. The bottoms of his jeans had little holes in them. The little marks on his ankles were unpleasant, to say the least. How many pokeballs did he have left, now? Still four. He assessed himself, and sighed. Well, nothing too serious. He knelt down and rolled up his pant legs.
As stupid as he'd looked dancing around, he'd prevented at least half those stupid attacks hitting him. He pulled out some antibacterial spray and after cleaning the drops of blood off his ankles, he sprayed some on. That would take care of it, for now. Thankfully, he'd not run into anything that caused him to have to waste his healing potions, not yet. Not unless he absolutely had to. And he really didn't. He sighed and stood up, putting the pokeball with rufflet in it at his side. So he had a couple pokemon to trade, now, and one to keep.
He looked around the dry, dusty terrain and figured he'd keep trying to capture pokemon until his pokeballs were used up. Then he could head back. It was only nearly afternoon. The sun was high and hot and he went back and collected his pack and supplies. Time to keep looking. That hadn't really been much of a battle, but he was actually relieved about that. Poor little rufflet. He'd let it sleep this off, and then after visiting the pokemon center in town, he would let it out of its pokeball and get better acquainted with it.
He began to walk, along the edge of an old building, and kept his eyes open for any signs of another pokemon. He had four pokeballs left, that was four pokemon. He fully intended to make sure he used them well. Only capturing pokemon that he felt he could trade for something he wanted on his team, or that, like rufflet, he intended to keep. He was still psyched. He had his favorite pokemon of all time. How fortunate was he? In his mind, Loki listed off the other ones. There were five more. But there were more than simply five he'd be plenty happy to have on his team. In a venture like this, you sometimes ended up with pokemon you hadn't planned on, that just 'worked' for you. Besides rufflet he hadn't set in stone any of the other five. Not yet, and he hoped he was in for a few surprises. [/style]

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] - - - || - - - || - - - || - - - || - - - || - - - - - -|| The creature watched tentatively from the very roof of the building, glaring down with barely visible eyes through the tangle of dead growth that had taken over. Something was there; something that lurked around the very fringes of the run down place that the beast had made it’s territory, and that wouldn’t do. Still, it smiled to itself as it edged away from the sheer drop with a confident flick of it’s tail. Something was here, and that something would like to play, now would it?
Not the nice kind of play, but play nonetheless.
The creature slunk back into the shadows, travelling through the dark crevices and down to the top floor, gradually slinking downwards and occasionally throwing a glance out a window to make sure the human was still there. The wild Pokemon would lie and wait, and see if the human broke any territorial rules.

He watched the dust kick up behind him, even walking as he was. This place was hell in a hand basket. Hot and dry, but nothing worse than he'd been to before, he supposed. He didn't really even notice the pokemon that was watching him, even as he was watching for it and its kind. No, not really. However, he had a lot more instinct now. The kind that told him, in a very uncomfortable way, that he wasn't alone, and was being watched...
He was looking for whomever was watching him, though. Human, gijinka, or pokemon. He found it a little unnerving, if only because whatever it was, he felt could see him, and he couldn't see it. There were abandoned buildings and they made for a great vantage point to hide from. He couldn't see it, still. Whatever it was was hiding, and that made him curious more than anything. Curiosity killed the meowth? He then saw something, for what seemed like the briefest of seconds. So brief, that it might not have been there at all. He certainly wouldn't have saw it if he wasn't watching for it. A shadow in the window, a gleam of eyes. Yes, he was certain he was being watched, now.
He stopped, and turned to the building, waiting for whatever watched him to come out. It had seemed to be not human or gijinka. That left pokemon. Whatever pokemon watched him, was in that building. It wasn't like he was going to attack the building. He didn't even have any moves that could...well, maybe he did. But that wasn't something he was about to waste time doing. He was far more curious as to why it watched and yet did nothing.
"I know you're in there, somewhere!" he called, loudly enough to be heard. Heck, it was so quiet he could have been heard at half the volume here. His own voice rang loud in his ears, and he grimaced for a moment. Loud enough to wake the dead? There was an eerie thought! "Why don't you come on out?" This was at a more acceptable level of volume. His tone was curious. Was it going to just hide away like a specter, or come out and show itself? He wasn't sure he cared to go in after it. Many of the buildings were abandoned, but many of them held pokemon--and not a few, but many pokemon. He didn't want to run into more than he could handle in there. He preferred the pokemon show itself, and be dealt with in whatever way it 'chose'. [/style]

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] - - - || - - - || - - - || - - - || - - - || - - - - - -|| The creature watched with slowly increasing curiousity as the human rounded the building, following with it’s eyes as it silently padded along the exposed cement and creaky wood of the floor. Was he a vagrant? Highly possible, and also possible that he was only passing through. The human didn’t seem to have spotted him yet, and so the creature continued to linger in the darkest of places, just out of sight, and watch as long as it could.
That was, until the human seemed to spot it and call out… or not? Had he spotted the beast lurking just within the shadows. The Pokemon couldn’t tell, but fluttered into the shadows nonetheless. Unfortunately, doing so meant he was being a little clumsy at it. As soon as he bolted, an old tin can rattled to the floor, followed by a couple of bottles that had been sitting on the shelf he darted past. The cascade made such a racket, and he was sure that with the noise, as humans were curious, he’d come to investigate.

Perhaps whatever it was, or whomever, didn't want to be seen. Still, he had that feeling still. Instinctual and nagging. Then, all of a sudden, there was a loud clatter, like an old can, almost? Whatever it was, it definitely meant something was there. As to what, and why it would be watching him, he didn't know.
He trusted his instincts implicitly and since he now had not only seen but heard the 'watcher', he decided it would be worth his time to investigate. He moved quickly and as silently as possible, though upon entering the building he could easily see why noise was hard to avoid. There was trash of all kinds here. Not exactly the most hospitable of abodes. He stepped over old, empty bottles and rusty cans. Tin foil and wood, even a pot on the floor, emptied of its contents long ago. This place was as desolate as could be. Only he didn't spend time looking at anything, but headed up the stairs, cringing a little at how dirty the rug on them was. This place should be home to no one. Human or pokemon. Not unless they liked filth and trash.
Up the stairs now, he quickly went to place he was most certain the sound had come from. He wasn't sure what he would find, but he was prepared for whatever it was. He readied himself to attack or not, to even flee if it turned out to be something more than he could handle. He wasn't ready to take on some huge and foreboding pokemon just about now. He had had a hell of a fight with rhyhorn and it was true he was prepared for the best and the worst. He trusted in his skills, too. Besides, nothing 'big and bad' would hide here and spy on him, now would it? Still, it never hurt to be cautious, and so he was. Once in the room he was sure the pokemon--he was thinking it was pokemon and not human based on the sounds, and what he'd caught a glimpse of briefly--was in, he stood in the middle, allowing for it to come to him if that's the way it wanted to do this. He'd come this far to it, after all.
"So, you going to come out now? I don't really fancy hunting for you. But I admit," he said with a lopsided grin, "you've got me wondering what you're doing watching me. Curious too, huh?" He asked this last with a fair sense of amusement. Pokemon were equally curious as humans sometimes. After all, he'd been curious enough to investigate, and he to watch him from the building. He was interested to see what was here...very interested. [/style]

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] Meowth || Female || Technician || Normal || 07 || Growl || Scratch || Bite || The Meowth practically skidded along the torn-up floor, knocking over a can and letting it clatter to the floor before bolting into a different room altogether. It might’ve been a bedroom once, but not anymore. What was left of it were less faded squares where pictures used to hang and an old cupboard, which she quickly took refuge behind. It was too small to fit a human or even a human hand; most normal Meowth wouldn’t have been able to slip there. But she was small for her type, thankfully, and was able to do things most of her species couldn’t.
The human, male by the sounds of his voice, spoke from the middle of the room. His footsteps were light as he walked in, but he made little attempt to search for her. That was for the better, she supposed. Her eyes gleamed in the dark, but unnoticeable from the underside of the cupboard like that. Now what would she do? She could reveal herself, surely, and then be gone once again. She had no interest in the human who infringed on her territory, but she wasn’t stupid enough to outright attack him if she could help it. Humans were frightful things.
The elegantly lithe Meowth slunk up to the top of the cupboard, making not a single noise as she sat with her eyes gleaming, her claws sharpened and her tail flicking back and forth; a sure sign that she was irritated and not up for fun and games.

Whatever they belonged to, they weren't necessarily large. Yet there was no question about it: they held hostility. Immediately his guard was up. This pokemon meant business. It looked like another battle was about to commence. He knew better by now than to let the pokemon make the first move.
He used Odor Sleuth. There was no room for error in a place so cluttered by junk. He wasn't going to let the meowth dodge his attacks if he could help it. He wanted to get a good hit in to start things off, and so used Inferno. With Odor Sleuth, the meowth wouldn't be evading him anytime soon. He had his next move planned out, and figured that he'd try not to prolong this particular battle. Which moves did meowth have? He wished he knew. He supposed he was about to find out. No way the pokemon would take his attack lying down. He had figured it was going to attack anyhow, which was why he'd initiated this in the first place.
He had a few minor injuries, but he didn't care to add to them. He still had a couple pokeballs left, and he fully intended to try and fill them before heading out of this desolate place. Rufflet was his pride and joy of the day. Rhyhorn he didn't really know what he was doing with, and buneary...ah, buneary. Cute and so he'd allowed himself to be suckered into capturing it. He didn't regret it. He planned to either keep her or find her a nice trainer. He made it a plan to never regret anything he did, if he could help it.
"Sorry, but not taking chances!" he told it, as he leaped back and took in stock of his surroundings. Plenty of pieces of discarded furniture, and not a lot of room to move as freely. Best to use this place to his advantage. He was ready for whatever the pokemon threw at him, hands down. He wasn't pleased about location but he had come in here. No way around it but to do battle where he was. [/style]

WILD POKEMON APPEARED! [/style] Meowth || Female || Technician || Normal || 07 || Growl || Scratch || Bite || The Meowth was ready for anything he sent at her. She narrowed her eyes at the odor sleuth, hissing and raising her heckles at him, the fur on the back of her neck and along her spine standing on end. She didn’t like him already, nor did she enjoy how this was going… and it only became worse when all the sudden, he shot a raging inferno of fire at her.
”Meow!” She shrieked in fury and bolted, the fire lapping at her tail and nothing more. She managed to avoid that thankfully, but unfortunately, not much else in the room seemed to be able to. The cupboard, old and dry as it was, quickly caught and went up in a plume of flames. The paper garbage and dry leaves strewn about quickly went up as well, and the Meowth hissed as she bolted into another room. Damn human, ruining her home on top of harassing her!
