He amused Erik really, at how he tried to defend himself and yet it was so obvious that Lydian more often then not got in to trouble from his rage and anger. Shaking his head ruefully and tucking himself up to Lydian's side, Erik drew comfort from his heat as he cautiously stepped amongst the dark roots and scattered rocks that littered the Canopy floor. Occasionally, a clatter would echo causing the younger male to startle a little as they walked.
Oh, of course he knew Lydian would protect him. He didn't need the other guy to reassure him, Erik would trust his life to the other. But it was just involuntary, the way he reacted to danger and fights by shying away. Erik has always been a passive guy, and the number of fights he's been in ever since he was born could be counted on your fingers.
"Just don't get yourself hurt in the process please." he replied, squeezing the hand he still kept a hold of as they walked. "Its not the people I'm afraid of anyway. Its just... the place in general. Its creepy, at least I think it is anyway." the guy murmured in a slight explanation, tilting head upwards when he felt Lydian nuzzle his hair and then rolling his eyes good-naturedly when he saw the smirk. Following doggedly behind Lydian, the small male skipped over a fallen branch, and then fell in to step next to Lydian again, his sapphire eye still cautious. "Why would anyone want to live here anyway..."

A gentle growl escaped Lydian at the feeling of Erik pressed against him. He liked this feeling, making him feel like he was the protector of his little Beta. Leaning in to press a gentle kiss to his lips and help him up over tree branches, he merely chuckled and nodded when Delphi stole away to scare off any Pokemon that might come towards them. "I won't," he chuckled softly, raising up Erik's hand to kiss the back of it on a whim. "And you don't have to be scared of this place, Erik. No matter how much the place may be scary, it is still nothing compared to our home during a good strong storm. Sometimes, if it's really bad, I'll stay out here simply so that I don't have to deal with it. But here or there, remember, Erik, that I will always be here to protect you as your Alpha." He bet that if he told people that a tough looking Houndoom gijinka like Lydian could spout words like that, hardly anyone would believe him. But his words warmed Erik's heart, and those, as well as his actions, were perhaps why Erik grew more and more attached to Lydian each day, almost to the point where he forgot how exactly did he live his life before he met Lydian.
Looking as Delphi dissapeared, the guy chuckled as he clambered down the tree branch. "So you're telling me I'm going to have a nightmare when storm hits our home?" he teased with a grin. "Maybe we should get around to fixing it then. Its not as if we don't have the time or manpower." the Sableye gijinka idly suggested, thinking that at least once they fixed it, they faced less possibility of trying to survive through a typhoon or hurricane should one decide to hit.

Lydian could sense something coming. He paused, putting his nose to the air and then sniffing. Ugh, that wasn't the source of it. Brow furrowing, he turned about, trying to find the source of this uneasy feeling. A low growl slipped from between his teeth, frustration in its tone, until he suddenly paused. He knew this scent. This was the scent of rain. Lydian shuddered. As a Houndoom Gijinka, rain was not something he enjoyed experiencing. When he got wet, he got sluggish, and when he got sluggish, he could barely summon up enough fire to light a candle, let alone burn down what needed to be burned down for his own safety. "Half of the roof is torn off the building," he answered gruffly, his jaw tight as he debated distance in his head. He was almost certain that if they turned back now, they could reach Erik's house before the storm hit, or at least got too bad. If they kept going, however, he didn't think they'd make it home before they were soaked to the bone. He sighed heavily. He really did hate the rain. "We're going to have to turn back, Erik. There's a storm coming, and I'd rather be curled up at your old cabin than out in it trying to get back to our home." OOC: *has nothing* Team-

His brow furrowed at the tone, as if sensing through Lydian that something was wrong, but it wasn't till after the guy mentioned it, did Erik finally notice the shift in the air, the lowering of temperature and darkening of the skies much quicker then a simple onsetting dusk.
Recognizing Lydian's worry as a fire-type gijinka, as well as the distance between here back to hsi cabin, Erik acknowledge the logic in his companions reasoning, and nodded once as he began to double back, clambering up on the large tree root once again.
Their efforts were foiled though, when barely halfway back, did the skies suddenly open up in a hurry, releasing a torrential downpour of rain as Erik's shirts and pants were completely soaked through. The wind picked up as well, the thunder causing the younger boy to startle every once in awhile. His footsteps sloshed on the muddy ground making its way back to Aether, and every once in a while, Erik would cast a worried look back at Lydian, not at all sure at how the fire-type would hold up under this weather.

Lydian stuck close behind Erik, not rushing the boy, but not wanting to stay out here any longer than he had to. In his experience, rain brought out water Pokemon, and water Pokemon were not a group he particularly liked. They didn't get along with him and tended to attack him on sight. His Dark attacks were usually enough to convince them to stay away, but with most of them requiring contact, he'd rather not use them in the rain, where all he really wanted to do was curl up and sleep. In fact, as soon as the sky began to rain buckets down on them, he immediately felt the effect of the water, his body shaking as his clothes plastered themselves to his skin, hanging limply from his frame as his hair stuck to his face. He was moving slower now, his body trembling to try to keep himself together, and he was a deal more clumsy, but as long as he could hide that from Erik, he would be okay. His footing faltered on the muddy ground at a particularly loud boom of thunder, his feet slipping out from under him, and he would have fallen face-first if Delphi - he hadn't even been able to tell it was his Absol with her fur a dark reddish gray until she'd was right next to him - hadn't darted forward to steady him. This was bad. This was very bad. OOC: *runs for foods now* Team-

Besides, what fire type gijinka would do well when you were getting drenched anyway? So when Lydian slipped, the guy wasn't at al surprised, despite the fact that he was caught a bit off guard and couldn't move in time to catch him.
Frowning with worry, the small boy quickly moved over and hitched one of Lydian's arms over his shoulders, pressing closer to the guy as he tried to help Lydian move. Nevermind slow, he could build a fire once they got back to his cabin, and slowly dry their clothes. Thanking Areceus that his backpack was waterproof so that they would at least have a change of clothes, the guy hitched his backpack higher, gave an encouraging pat to Delphi's wet head, and then hobbled forward with Lydian.
"C'mon, just a bit more kay?" he murmured soothingly, occasionally pressing a soft kiss on the sides of Lydian's cheeks as they moved. Thankfully getting out of the Canopies without any further incident, it was a deceptively long walk back to his old cabin through the torrential downpour, but one they had no choice but to make. It was either or, and both choices were as good as they were bad anyway. [/style] |

Lydian panted hard, his hand shaking on Delphi's back as he stood there for a moment, his hair shadowing his eyes as he stared at the fur of Delphi's back, trying to gather himself up. The rain was simply eating away at him with the same malicious delight of an acid, and he had to be strong, if not for his own dignity and pride, then for Erik's safety. If the Pokemon sensed weakness in him, they would turn on the two of them and attack. He couldn't contain a small whine when Erik pulled one of his arms over his shoulder, the Houndoom Gijinka pressing close to him as if to steal some of his body heat. Delphi let out a quiet sound, shifting to be on the other side of Lydian for support as they moved, the Houndoom a deal paler than usual and his breath huffing out of him heavily. His vision tunneled a little, the only way he knew for him to keep going, and he focused solely on Erik's scent and encouragement, knowing the boy wouldn't lead him astray. He was panting hard, his whole body was shaking with particular attention paid to his legs, and he was losing heat, but he was operating on instinct now, and that instinct told him that Erik would take care of him. He fixed his exhausted crimson eyes on Erik's sapphire ones and quietly awaited what would come to him, too tired from the rain to really do much else. OOC: ... Oh, weak? Perfect chance. Erik barely had time to duck and bring the other two lower with him as the Dewott came slashing out at them. His knees sloshed in the mud, and then his sapphire eye gleamed as he looked up and scowled at the attacking wild Pokemon. Did he have nothing better to do?
As the Dewott charged at them once more with what looked like a double scalchop attack, Erik curled his fingers together, dark rings gathering before he flung his dark pulse attack at the attacking water type furiously, before scowling and hitching Lydian back up as he continued on his way, muttering and grumbling furiously about advantage taking Pokemon and useless types as his feet hurried along.
By the time they reached his old cabin door, even Erik was feeling slightly worn out, and the dryness of the small wooden hut was a welcome relief, as he slowly settled Lydian down on the floor, and then dropped his backpack and pulled out one of his Pokeballs. The device revealed his Houndour, who whined when she heard the rain.
"Calm down Cerberus, my roof is sound remember? Now go start a fire." he instructed, directing her towards the fireplace where the Houndour efficiently used her teeth to dump a couple of stacked up firewood next to the hearth, and then shot her flamethrower to get the fire going. Whilst doing all of that, Erik had moved over to pull Lydian upwards, dragging his sodden shirt off and throwing it in a corner, before pulling a towel out of his back and beginning to wipe the elder man down, from his hair and moving downwards. "Delphi, go sit next to the fire Cerberus is building. Don't want you catching a cold too. I'll move Lydian over there once he's drier." Erik gently asked the Absol, flashing a soft smile before returning his attention to Lydian. "Better?" his voice murmured softly, eyes concerned as they flashed between his working hands, and to Lydian's face. [/style] |

When the Dewott came out of nowhere, Lydian's tired mind reacting late to his instincts, which had gone haywire. He let out a furious snarl, his eyes lighting up again. Moving quickly, he darted around Erik to snarl a challenge at the Dewott, fire sputtering to life along his arms. "You will not touch him!" he roared, fury in his gaze, the flames hissing and sputtering in the rain but remaining alive due to his own will and determination, that bone-deep need to make sure Erik was safe and protected. When the Dewott charged, he roared angrily, a Howl on his lips to boost his power as he raised his hands and shot out a Flamethrower at the Pokemon. He didn't care that it wasn't an effective attack or even that it sapped almost all of his energy out of him. All he cared about was protecting Erik. Lydian then felt Erik pulling him away, and he tucked into him, still bristling and growling as best he could, though the Houndoom Gijinka wanted to just curl up and not move until anything stopped. But he knew that would be the way to die, and he couldn't die when Erik still needed him. He nearly fell over when he was brought into the cabin, and it was a simple thing for him to settle onto the floor, groaning. Delphi followed the Houndour, helping her set up the things to start the fire and then settle down once it was ready. Lydian, meanwhile, groaned softly as he was pulled up and catered to, dried off. He managed a weak growl, moving closer to tuck himself into and around Erik. He was absolutely drained, and he had to keep the Sableye Gijinka safe and warm. His body shuddered a few times from the cold, he was usually warm from the fire that burned within him but that had been sucked right out of him by the wet, but so long as Erik was tucked up close to him, they'd be okay. OOC: So many good lines out of Lilo and Stitch. SO MANY. Team-

Scowling as he felt the multiple shivers passing through Lydian's body, the guy huffed as Lydian curled himself around him, and shook him off quickly, nudging him. "Take off your pants and move to the fire." he instructed, a light blush dusting his cheek at the words, before he moved off towards the back he had dumped at the corner of his room.
Shrugging off his shirt, Erik proceeded to pick up the wet shirt and pants that Lydian discarded and moved closer to the fire to hang it over the clothesline had had strung up a couple of months ago. Outside the wind howled amongst the rain, but muted within their cabin, Erik also shucked off his pants and let it join the rest of the drying clothes, before pulling out a pair of shorts and shirt for himself from his bag.
Putting them on again, the guy squinted, pulling his eyepatch out to squeeze it dry, and then placed it on before dragging the large fleece blanket from his backpack and brought it to where Lydian had parked himself, Draping the blanket over the elder male, he shook out his damp hair and kneeled next to Delphie with a thick, clean mat he had snitched from his cupboard, and patted his Houndour's head as a thanks, before rubbing the Absol's fur dry. "Feel better? Its warmer now." he murmured softly, first to Delphie, and then directing the question to Lydian by switching his gaze at him. [/style] |

Lydian whined when he felt Erik pushing him off. All he wanted was to wrap around Erik. Shimmying out of his pants, he moved over to the fire, resisting the urge to simply climb into it and curl up. Just because he was a fire Pokemon didn't mean he could do it though. His ability was Early Bird, so he wouldn't just absorb the flames and get stronger. He'd just have to settled with soaking up the heat as much his could, his body still shaking with the cold, trying to warm himself and to rekindle his inner fire. Delphi let out a little content sound at the attention, but she just nudged Erik's hands away and nodded her head at Lydian. He needed the attention and warmth more than she did. She was fine to sprawl herself out in front of the fire and slowly soak up the warmth she'd lost. Lydian on the other hand... when he got wet, it had taken all of them together nestled under the blankets in front of a fire to warm him again. In his current state though... she'd be surprised if Lydian would let anyone near him other than her and Erik himself. OOC: Lacrimosa. That is all. Team-

Smiling when he saw Cerberus stretching out in front of the fire and giving a contented sigh, the boy's eyes switched back to Delphi when he felt the nudge, and then blinked in surprise as if asking her if she was sure. Nevertheless, Erik made sure he got the last bit of moisture out of the Absol, before he draped the towel across the clothes line as well, and then padded back to where Lydi was seated.
Curling up next to the Houndoom gijinka, the guy snuggled underneath the blanket, wrapping arms around Lydian's bare torso and cuddling up next to him before finally letting out a contented sigh. "I would borrow you my clothes, but they're probably a bit too short around the ankles and torso. You'd look ridiculous." he teased with a giggle, tilting his head up to look at Lydian, blue eye shining with affection and adoration for the Houndoom gijinka. Delphi smiled softly as she saw Erik pad back to her Trainer, a yawn making its way out of her maw before she pillowed her head on her forelegs. The two of them looked good together, she decided, cute and almost as if they were made for each other. They would be good mates for each other. So with that thought in mind, she settled down to watch them, her eyes glittering softly in the firelight. Lydian let out a weak little contented growl when he felt Erik's body close to his own. He pulled the Sableye Gijinka close to him, lifting him so that he was on his lap, Lydian's legs on either side of him as he leaned down and nuzzled him. "I'll be fine without them. You share more body heat without clothes anyway," he rumbled softly, staring into Erik's glittering sapphire eye. So beautiful... he could get lost in those eyes. Drawn in, he couldn't held himself from brushing a butterfly kiss to the eyepatch, clutching the Sableye Gijinka close to himself. Erik was his, and he'd do anything to keep him safe. OOC: Lacrimosa.
