Here's the starter, I hope I didn't derp. =P *places the image of the outfit here too*
As gentle as a summer breeze fell the light snowflakes, powdery and fluffy with their load of frozen water. The cool air clung to the skins of the people outside, stealing what warmth they had on them, though on this special day many had an arm to hold on to for the heat being taken by the chill. Standing under a black arch, littered with beautiful roses in full bloom despite the weather and cold, keeping out of the way of entering and exiting couples was a young girl with unnatural blue hair slightly spiked up from her head and decorated by a bright red ribbon. Seira shivered in the cold, her dual-type making the icy sting strike worse for her than anyone would have imagined, despite the layers of clothing she put on. Dressed to impress, and also to keep warm, the girl wore a stunning dress of lavender, black and blue; a corset of died blue leather wrapped snuggly around her waist as her layered black skirt descends to her mid-thigh in a slight poof, the cloth top gently covering her chest and arms as the sleeves fluffed out greatly as they draped her arms then gather around her wrists to create frills that fell over half her hands, covering her legs and the rest of her thighs were lavender stockings with straps traveling under her skirt with dark blue laced boots reaching her knees to protect her feet from the frigid cement walkway, and to complete the look a purple chocker clung snuggly around her neck with a crystal pendent necklace accompanying it gracefully. Resting in her thin strapped purse was the Pokeballs of the two Pokemon she brought with her – Eleonora and Jackie, a Pidove and Tailow respectively. She had wanted to let her team rest at home on this day, Jackie was still getting used to living indoors after being rescued from the library of all places a week ago, but both her parents insisted on her taking them anyways. None of her Pokemon were equipped to handle the cold, their types making them as weak to the winter weather as she was, so she only took her two strongest friends and left them in their balls to protect them. Seira wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing her hands against her sleeved arms to generate warmth as she waited. One week ago, on the same day she had met Jackie, the young Altaria Gijinka had met a kind older man named Ryan Brant, known by most as Brant. The meeting was by chance, a coincidence neither had planned, but she wouldn’t have had it any other way. From the minute she laid eyes on the tall black-haired adult she knew she wanted to see him again when they parted. Seira felt very lucky to have that small amount of time together at the library, from when she helped Brant find the book he needed to cure his ailing Nora to when they were both suspended from the library for having their Pokemon out. Before they parted ways that day, he invited her to his apartment for snacks before having to just as quickly ask her to come to this carnival with him as an apology since Brant remembered then that he had to report to Epispect for work. She was sad that their sudden plans were canceled as suddenly as they were made, but what she got in exchange was the whole day with the other Gijinka and that made up for the strange sadness tenfold. Now she waited, having got there a bit early in her excitement, dressed as she was now in an outfit her cousin lent her that was too warm to wear on most days. Seira was surprised it fit so well, since she and her cousin didn’t have figures anywhere close to each other’s. Looking up at the clock told her that Brant should be there soon, so she kept her gaze looking out for the hunter to walk up.

Words;; 755 Tags;; Seira Blake Eggs;; - - 1/10 Layout by Kuroya Notes;; Ryan gave me wordbarf. Also, he managed to convince me to give him the Swablu egg. I don't know how. But he did.
Ryan resisted the urge to shiver as he brushed some snow off his vest, clicking his tongue as Nora ambled along behind him, the Bouffalant obviously in much better spirits with her coat glossy and her step much more firm than it had been a week earlier. He had left his revolver at home today, not because he'd wanted to, but because when he'd reached to take it, Nora had let out a low bellow and nudged his hand away, refusing to let him pick it up so that he could strap it to the belt that hung around his waist, and no matter how hard he'd tried to convince her that he was taking it just in case someone had tried to hurt him, the Normal-type hadn't budged an inch, leaving him no choice but to leave the weapon at home today. Instead, he had a couple of Pokeballs clipped to his belt, one of them Nora's and the other one he'd gotten for the sole purpose of placing inside it something that he'd brought out today even though he perhaps shouldn't have. He had a messenger bag slung over his shoulder, a leather affair that wasn't overly big but had the inside well insulated with fake fur and fluff, and he could picture what lay inside that almost perfectly: a small blue egg with little white accents on it, nestled and warm as he brought it with him, something that Nora had allowed. She was acting strangely today, but Ryan knew full well why she was, and he could hardly blame her for it, not when the fact made him want to act strangely himself.
He had made plans with Seira last week for the two of them to meet up again today, and he'd had to rush through the last mission in order to get time off to come here. Just because he hadn't seen her, however, didn't mean that the younger girl hadn't been in his thoughts, and as a matter of fact, she had shown up with a bit of a frightening intensity, his thoughts straying back to her whenever he had a quiet moment. She had seemed so sweet back in the library, the kind of person who just appealed to his easy-going ways to make him want to take care of her, and when he thought back on things, he swore that heat flooded his cheeks at the very thought of him having the audacity to ask her to come out to a romantic carnival with him. He had only just met her, what was wrong with him? That wasn't the only problem though. He had taken the time to look up her records in Epispect, and what he'd found was that she was underage, something that made him feel even worse about asking her here today. That didn't mean that he was going to ask her to go away, far from it. Something inside him cried out at the very thought of it, and he shook his head, unable to bear it. He couldn't do that, not to sweet little Seira, and yet he had brought her here anyway. He thought about turning back, something that had occurred in his mind numerous times since he would be damned if he hurt her by following this tugging on his heart, but as if she knew what her Trainer was thinking, Nora huffed again. He had tried to turn back a few times, but every time, the Bouffalant had just collected her Trainer and corralled him back onto the path with her horns, so at this point, the Staraptor Gijinka just sort of gave up and went along with it. He had his eye wrapped again today, his single one darting, and as soon as it spotted Seira, he felt all his doubts melt away at the sight.
She looked beautiful in the dress she was wearing, and he thought nothing of calling out to her and waving. "Seira, over here!" he yelled, resisting the urge to just run over to her side. It wouldn't do the egg he had any good to run, so he tried to contain his enthusiasm with walking instead. Behind him, he heard Nora snort and stamp one of her hooves against the ground, but he thought nothing of it. He had found Seira now, and the feeling fluttering in his chest was so close to that of flying that he thought that he would be floating off the ground if he looked down.

XD Great, now I want to hatch my Sweblu egg even more... *gives into temptation*
Seira was greatly surprised by how many people were coming and going through the archway, making it hard to keep herself out of the way and still be seen by Brant when he showed up. The thought of him never coming didn’t tickled her mind, from their brief meeting Seira felt he was trustworthy and would never back down from anything. After looking at the clock to check the time again, Seira moved her purse to check on her Pokeballs, she heard that pick pockets thrived in these kinds of crowds and the warnings of caution from her parents still rang in her head, and to check on her secret cargo – a little blue egg with white accents that she had wrapped snugly in her favorite Mareep fleece blanket to keep it warm and safe, Eleonora and Jackie’s balls clasped next to the soon-to-be baby and it’s ball. Seira looked at it lovingly, excited to meet the baby inside almost as much as she was excited to see Brant again. Seira quickly closed the bag to keep in the egg’s warmth, afraid too much exposure to the cold and snow would take away the life that grew so delicately inside the shell. When she looked up again the crowd was less, making it easy for her to catch a glance of a dusty brown hat that haunted her waking thoughts for the last week. She heard his call clearly, making her heart flutter wildly in her chest and gave her the feeling of flying high in the sky. All she wanted to do was run to him, but the crowd and her precious secret kept her from endangering herself and her egg. So, she slowly made her way to Brant, who had his Nora walking behind him looking healthy and beautiful and a messenger bag slung over his shoulders. Seira waved back as she made her way to him, meeting Brant half way. “Brant, hello!” she called, a bright smile glowing on her face. When they met, Seira didn’t hesitate to reach her hand out to Nora, offering it for her to sniff at before Seira dared to pet the Bouffalant before she gave consent.

If Ryan was surprised by the amount of people who were coming and going from this part of the carnival, he didn't show it, instead carefully navigating his way through the crowds, a task that was made somewhat easier by the large Bouffalant that trotted behind him, an intimidating Pokemon even if the personality that governed those large hooves and horns was actually extremely gentle. He was careful to keep his messenger bag from thumping against things, wary of possibly breaking the small egg before it was ready to hatch. His face lit up with an easy grin when he saw Seira wave, and he shoved one hand in his pocket as he sauntered the rest of the way over there, fighting the urge to run straight over to scoop her up into his arms. Though wait a minute, why was he having such an urge? He barely knew her for crying out loud, even if she was really cute and she just made him want to try to fly when she smiled up at him. He shoved such thoughts from his head with a helpful nudge from Nora behind him as she came over with a wide smile and a greeting on her lips. "Hey Seira," he greeted warmly, grinning. "Seems like ya found the place all right."
Behind him, Nora let out a soft whuff as she sent her breath over Seira's hand, wanting to warm her hand before she leaned down to rub her muzzle gently against the girl's hand. Ryan smiled at the two of them, offering his hand. "C'mon, time's a'wastin', let's get beyond the arch before they stop lettin' couples in, 'kay?" He knew that pretending to be a couple wasn't really the best option he had, but considering the way that she made his heart pound, it wouldn't be a bad way to start things out. It had taken him a week of dreaming about kissing her in the rain and seeing her face light up when he gave her the moon, but he had managed to figure out that he was at least attracted to her a little, enough so that he found that the fact that she was still a minor only a minor inconvience. He sighed heavily, rolling his eyes at his own foolishness. He really didn't seem to know when to quit, did he?

Wow, Seira isn't in a talkative mood... *wonders what's up*
The sudden warmth on her hand startled Seira a bit since her hand was numbed by the cold for so long, but it was welcome none the less. The warmth from Nora as her hand was nuzzled was also welcome, and Seira rubbed back gently and eager to love on the Bouffalant who was the reason she and Brant met. Seira made sure her purse didn’t drop from her shoulders or get bumped as she gave her affections to Nora, afraid of harming her egg and cracking it before the baby was ready to hatch. Seira looked to Brant’s direction as he spoke, blushing when he said ‘couples’. She knew that they weren’t a couple, though the idea of it made her heart flutter excessively in excitement. She couldn’t explain why this idea made her like this, everything from going on this carnival to going with a guy without anyone from her family being there with her was greatly new to her. “O-oh, okay, let’s go!” she said, willing herself to calm her heart and make her blush melt away as she took his offered hand. She let him lead her to the arch entrance, nervous about going inside and what she would experience there. She wished the weather would have allowed her to have Eleonora out, or Jackie, or both of them to help take it all in. The only comfort she had was Brant and Nora, two who she barely knew outside one meeting and that in itself should have been scary, but Brant made her feel so safe that the lack of knowledge didn’t mean anything to her. None the less, her grip on Brant’s hand tightens as they moved through the entrance to what awaited them.

Ryan couldn't help but chuckle when he saw Nora lean into Seira's touch, playfully nudging her hand while one of the Bouffalant's hooves came up to paw at the air between them, careful not to nick the girl with it even as she playfully presented her hoof as if she was a Growlithe with a wagging tail from a belly rub or a human offering a hand for a handshake. Not wanting her to accidentally lose track of how close she was, he bent down a little to grab her hoof in his calloused hand, the contact making a good smack to his skin that stung a little but proved easily ignorable in face of some of the other smacks she'd given him over the years, some accidental but others with the intent of reprimanding him for something she thought he'd done wrong. Nora huffed as her Trainer stopped her fun, but understanding what he was getting at, she lowered her leg back to the ground, standing on all fours now, leaning against him just enough that he stumbled a few steps to the side, her version of a protest. As a result of his interference, he missed seeing the moment her blush appeared, but she was obviously trying to tamp it back down again as she reached forward, her hand sliding into his own, and he gave her an easy grin, wanting to put her at ease as he made his way over to the arch, tugging her just a bit closer as they passed through it to make the two of them look a little more like a couple - not that he would mind if they were, but he'd rather wait a little while to be sure that he wasn't making a hasty decision, if only because he didn't want to ruin anything for Seira, not when she had the whole rest of her life in front of her - and then he stepped through it with her, turning his sole visible eye on his surroundings. "Well," he stated, shoving his free hand in his pocket and shifting his weight to his back foot, a little ill at ease from all the people and action, "this is certainly somethin'."

Okay, Seira, what's up? Ryan, what have you done to my girl?
Seira couldn't help but giggle a sweet wind chime ditty at the Bouffalant antics, finding the way she pawed at the air with her hooves charming and adorable. The mental image of a Growlithe doing the same thing added to the humor of the scene and Seira almost couldn't resist taking the hoof into her hand and shake it. When Brant grabbed Nora’s hoof before she could, Seira felt a bit sad for missing her chance, though when she looked closer the hoof was dangerously close to scratching her leg. Oh dear, her cousin would have thrown a fit if any part of the outfit were to be damaged and would have been sore with her even though it would have been an accident. The site of Nora pushing her Trainer lightly like she did, most likely as a form of protest for spoiling her fun, would have made Seira continue to giggle if she wasn't battling her blush away as it was being done. Once they were on the other side of the arch, Seira pressed more closely to Brant’s side (most likely to cement the image of a couple on them) - making her battle even more fruitless, the site that graced the young girl’s eyes was mesmerizing. The park was set up beautifully, looking the very part of a lover’s paradise. Seira wasn't sure what to do or where to go first, so she stuck to Brant’s side more closely. And the number of people, it well exceeds the normal amount that frequent her family’s bakery by thousands! The place was filled to the brim with lovers of all kinds, making Seira a bit worried about her little egg and those having her gently hold her purse more closely to her person. She couldn't let the little one inside get hurt!

Ryan felt Seira's body tuck closer to his side, and the warmth that she had was enough to encourage him to drape a casual arm around her waist, something that he could pass off as an effort to discourage people from thinking they weren't a couple, though in reality, he was actually trying to make sure she was warm enough, not to mention that he wanted to feel her close to him, though if she asked, he'd just say that he had done it to make sure that she didn't get lost in the crowd as he carefully guided her over to an empty carriage, offering a hand to the Rapidash pulling it for them to whuff before he carefully stroked their noses. He stroked the absently for a moment, contemplating the various dance floors and the lake at the far end of the area, before he finally came to a decision and spoke. "Well, we can take a ride in one of these carriages here, or we can go down t' the lake an' paddle 'bout for a while." He then whistled to Nora, causing the Bouffalant to trot closer to him before stowing her back in her Pokeball again so that they wouldn't get complaints from the other fairgoers about having the large Normal-type trotting around after him and causing a ruckus, even if she was very gentle and careful not to hurt anyone who didn't mean him harm first. He then reached a hand down to check on the egg in his messenger back, letting out a relieved sigh when he felt that it hadn't cracked or broken yet. At least something small was guaranteed to go his way no matter how Seira felt about him taking her here today. He just hoped she didn’t end up hating him for what he planned to confess to her later on…

I fear for Seira's heart after reading that last sentence... And now she wants a Fire type, of all things! Well, at least the word count is decent~ =w=
The warmth of Brant’s side was a very welcome thing indeed with her weakness to the cold, and was very glad he draped his arm around her like he did. The night was so cold, and being so near the Staraptor Gijinka like two love birds was very nice – something Seira hoped to one day have for the rest of her life. She let Brant guide them to the empty carriage and tried to imitate the older man when he started petting the Rapidash, following his example to the letter so she didn’t get hurt or scare the Pokemon. Feeling the fierce heat of the Fire-type was a warming jolt up her arm, making her briefly wish she could find a Fire type herself before she accidently brushed Brant’s hand as her own traveled from the neck she was stroking towards the nose she thought was free when Brant whistled for Nora, taking her mind away from that musing to focus on calming her heart rate. “Riding in the carriage sounds nice,” she replied as Nora was returned to her ball, which was a real shame since now she couldn’t enjoy the park festivities with the two Gijinkas. In all honesties, riding in a carriage would be more than nice, with Brant by her side she could feel like a princess riding away with her prince in a fairy tale ending, and the excuse to be even closer to Brant physically was an added treat. She turned to see her ‘date’ feel his messenger bag, making Seira wonder what was inside. Could it be an egg like the one she has in her purse? That would be interesting, the idea of them both carrying an egg through the park like two mother hens, and the idea made her giggle some.

Words;; 334 Tags;; Seira Blake Eggs;; - - 5/10 Layout by Kuroya Ryan could feel cold rolling off Seira's body in waves, and while his instincts told him to avoid the cold that cut right through to the bone, so much deeper after he'd gotten the transfusion of Staraptor DNA into his body, he couldn't justify letting her sit to get cold either, especially given that with her Altaria blood, she was bound to feel it even more than he was. That was why he thought nothing of tugging her closer when he felt how cold she was, hoping to transfer some of his own heat to her. She seemed to like the feel of the warm Rapidash fur, something that had him briefly considering making a few inquiries on the side back to the ranch to see if he could obtain a young Ponyta colt or filly to give to her as a present to keep her warm. At the agreement that she wanted to ride in the carriage, he couldn't help but chuckle, ruffling her hair affectionately. "Whatever you want, sweetie," he drawled with a grin, turning to the driver as he pushed his hat up a little. "Mind givin' a ride for me and Seira here? We don't really know what we wanna do quite yet, but I wanna take a look around with her 'fore I make any rash decisions." At the agreement of the driver, he turned back to the girl at his side with a winning smile, guiding her to the side of the carriage and then offering her his hand so that she could use it for balance as she stepped up into the main carriage part. Sure, it was rather old-fashioned, but his mom had raised him right, and besides, he had a feeling that she'd like him doing something like that, so he could put up with a few odd looks and some whisperings about how old-fashioned he was if it meant that he could see her cheeks light up in a soft blush from his kindness.

D'aw, Seira~ You have such a good guy, you must be the luckiest gal in Aether! XD
Seira really wished she had dressed more warmly; the cold was affecting her more than she first thought it would. Her outfit had lots of warm layers, but it seemed that it wasn’t enough to equalize her terrible weakness to freezing temperatures. She knew that Ryan had the same weakness, as they both were Flying-types, but instinct told her to get near the source of warmth close to her and Brant even encouraged this by pulling her closer so Seira didn’t fight it. When Brant ruffled her hair the way he did, Seira was surprised by the repeat of how they parted last week and the feeling of affection it gave her. Her family never touched her like that, only ever giving her light pats or a guiding grip to her arm when she needed to rest. The action made her place her hands on her head as she looked at him with wide eyes as she heard his reply. “T-thank you, Brant!” she thanked him, her eyes shinnying. The Rapidash she and Brant were petted gave a snort, moving it’s head closer to lightly nip at her hair. This caused Seira to giggle and return her focus to petting, barely hearing her ‘date’ ask the carriage driver for a ride and somewhat forget her recent surprise. The Rapidash responded to her touch eagerly, “You’re such a good Rapidash, and such a sweetheart too~” Seira complimented, earning a light neigh in reply, making her wish she had more experience with the majestic Pokemon. When she felt Brant guide her to the side of the carriage she couldn’t help but be amazed by how handsome his smile made him, and was dazzled by his kindness in helping her keep her balance. Giving her best thankful smile, she climbed her way into the carriage and took her seat, setting her purse in her lap so she and Brant had all the room they could get – and it felt right to have her egg there, along with her Eleonora and Jackie’s Pokeballs. Seated inside the carriage, Seira felt like a princess on her way to her happy ending, traveling the winter countryside with her shining knight, and it felt good to feel important and not the burden she knew she was to her family – especially back when she was too sick to even go outside.

Ryan was glad to see the way that Seira tucked in closer to him, though he couldn't resist letting out an amused chuckle when she put her hands over her head where he had ruffled it, looking at him with eyes that were wide with surprise. She looked cute like that, and he nodded in acknowledgement of her thanks, keeping an eye on the girl as he handled getting them a ride, not wanting the Rapidash to possibly turn against the Altaria Gijinka, especially when the Fire-type began to nibble at her hair. The Pokemon didn't seem to be trying to do anything too bad as he talked to the carriage driver, and that put him at ease as he finally got to lift her into the carriage. She had taken his hand and used it as she climbed up into the carriage, and he smiled, giving her a little boost up so that she wouldn't have to put forth nearly as much effort to climb in. He sighed softly, but it was a contented sound, his single visible eye flickering up to the sky before he climbed up alongside her, the Staraptor Gijinka a little less comfortable in the carriage than she might have been, but that was mostly because he was more used to being on a Rapidash or a Ponyta rather than behind it. He carefully slung the strap of the messenger bag back over his head again, making sure not to hit the her in the face with it, and then lowered the bag to the floor of the carriage tucked up against a side where it wasn't likely to get jostled about all that much. He settled in, his legs spreading out a little like a bird fluffing up its feathers when it's made itself a comfortable nest, and looked over at her lazily, hat propped back by the back of the seat he was in. "So..." he started, trailing off uncertainly before he continued, "tell me a little 'bout yourself." He grinned sheepishly. "I'd ask ya some questions, but well.... I kinda don't know where t' start."

Well, time for some improv! Prepare for derp! XD And remember, Ryan, you opened this can of Weedle!
Seira giggles as she was boosted the rest of the way into the carriage, feeling more and more special by the minute. The act was kind, something not forced or done because of duty but because the Staraptor Gijinka wanted to. Seira made sure she got comfortable in her seat, her legs close and crossed like a lady, her purse resting in easy reach, ready to enjoy a nice long ride through the section of the carnival set up for couples and lovers. Seira was so happy with how things were going she didn’t care that Brant wasn’t her lover or her boyfriend, not that it would ever happen since he was an adult and deserved to find someone his own age who would be much better suited for him. But oh, Seira wished they had a chance, Brant looked so handsome sitting next to her – so relaxed and at ease with everything. The ease with which he looked at her with made her want to cuddle up into his side again, an urge she didn’t want to fight but did, to turn her head and look out ahead in thought. What could she tell him? She didn’t think there was much to tell, seeing as everything in her life was mostly routine, the only exception being the training of her Pokemon and her trips to places in the city she was never able to go before. She wasn’t sure what to tell him, so what came out sounded odd to her ears. “I like to bake, and sing,” she replied, absentmindedly petting her purse, as if the egg inside would give her some form of comfort as she continued, “I love the smell of freshly made treats, and humming whenever I can. I’m always at home, since my uncle home school’s me, so when my school work is done I keep the house clean for my parents and the siblings who haven’t left or moved into their own houses. I don’t only keep the house clean for their sakes but mostly because – and I’m embarrassed to say it – I like to keep things in order and clean; anything out of place or dirty just drives me mad, and the sight of such things makes me nervous and antsy. The work also makes me feel less like a burden, since -” and that was when Seira stopped herself, raising her hands to clamp over her mouth as if she had just said something horrible. She might as well have, Brant didn’t understand her home life as it was and as a result could take what she had said out of context. She loved her family, and understood what they go through as they work for their livelihood – maybe too much so that these unwanted feelings made her doubt her worth to them on occasion. She wanted to cry, now her date was ruined and it was all her fault, and as an added bonus for her folly Brant would think poorly of her for making her family out in a bad light.

Ryan could feel the carriage shifting underneath his back as the Rapidash began trotting, and while he was a little uneasy about this method of travel - it didn't seem particularly safe, and what happened if the Fire-types spooked? - he hid it as best he could, not wanting Seira to see how ill at ease he was with the carriage. It wasn't even a fear of something he could put his finger on, lay down his thoughts and pick out a specific nuance about it that he could definitively pin his dislike on. He just didn't like it. But who was he to spoil her fun? He just settled himself against the back of the seat, appearing for all the world as if he was relaxed but actually hiding a slight tension to his muscles, one part of his brain warily keeping tabs on his surroundings in case something happened. After all, he worked for Epispect. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that someone was out here that held a grudge against him for something he did: taking away a friend or a lover or a family member. It had happened before, who was to say it wouldn't happen again? His sole visible eye flickered over to her when she started speaking, paying attention to her closely. In a way, it made sense that she liked to bake and she was musically-inclined, she did rather seem the sort. A small smile twitched at the corners of his lips at the image of her bustling around her house with an apron on, pushing up on her tiptoes to try to get off a particularly stubborn piece of dirt, but the emotion slipped from his face as soon as he heard the word 'burden'.
Concerned, he sat up, a slight toss of his head pushing his hat further back so that he could look at her evenly, and with a pang he saw the flicker of horror in her eyes as she kept both her hands over her mouth. 'So it had been an accident that had slipped out,' he mused quietly, weighing things out carefully in his mind. A large part of him had already leapt to the worst conclusion, scanning her for possible signs of abuse, but with a little effort, he tempered that side down, trusting the Altaria Gijinka to know that, if she were the victim of such a thing, she would be smart enough to understand that he would protect her. Instead, he gave her an easy smile, summoning up every bit of reassurance that he could give her when he really just wanted to sweep her into his arms and make sure that she never felt like a burden ever again. He remembered days when he was younger and he would clean the equipment just so that his siblings and his mother could have a moment to rest, a rarity in the little house he'd grown up in. "Hey now, I'm sure you're not a burden t' your family," he stated, frowning a little. "Someone who works as hard as you do ain't a burden." Besides, she really was too sweet to ever be a burden, but Giratina, he couldn't just say something like that out loud! Not when he was trying to make sure that she found someone her own age to date!
This whole restraint thing was getting old, fast.

Seira, why do you do this to yourself?
Seira barely felt the carriage move, she was so absorbed in the fact she made her family look bad to someone of the law. She felt too awful to enjoy the slowly passing scenery. Brant looked at her with concern, most likely thinking that her family hurt her. She would have corrected that train of thought at the moment, but she just felt horrible that the man she was with possibly believed that because of her. She watched him, not sure on what to say or how to say the right things. So, she caught his easy smile, the glow in his eyes saying that everything will be okay, and heard his kind words that filled her heart with happiness that he wasn’t mad at her for misleading his opinion of her family and how much he cared about her. She wished what he said was true, but all her life she had to be cared for by her family on top of their jobs and lives. The only thing she dared do in return and for herself was keeping the house clean. It was always clean to begin with, so for the longest time all she had to do was tidy up a bit here and there. All the heavy cleaning was her mother’s job; they had never let her do much since her health was so poor. All she could do was sit there and let others do the work. All her life she wanted to do her share, and when she couldn’t she did the only thing she could do – give them her smiles, have a small treat prepared for dessert after dinner each night, and singing. Sure, sometimes when her family gathered and everyone feared getting each other sick, so she wasn’t allowed that pleasure. But no matter what, she still had her voice for the occasions when she didn’t have anything else. “I… I just recently got the ability to walk out of my house without worrying about catching a cold; I have never pushed myself to do anything. My family has always done their best for me, and all I could do was sit and let them… I don’t work hard…. I have to be a burden to them…” She couldn’t believe it was anything but true. A stinging hit her eyes, and it quickly escalated into her sobbing, feeling awful and so worthless.
